This 1949 Chevrolet Deluxe 4-door is one of those cars that just shouldn\'t exist. Not that 1949 Chevrolets are unobtainium, but rather that finding one restored to this exceptional degree is, well, unheard-of. Clearly a labor of love, this might be the nicest one in existence, and if you like the old-school look, you\'re going to love how it drives. Maroon always looks right on \'40s cars, representing the conservative values of the time and there\'s nothing more conservative than a Chevrolet 4-door sedan. On the other hand, even the everyman Chevrolet was beautiful to look at and exquisitely detailed, so today it looks like it should cost thousands more than it does. Getting four doors to fit as well as they do here, plus that big hood, means that a lot of hours were spent sweating the little stuff. The curvaceous fenders make for a very appealing \'40s look and the sweep of the roof remains one of the best in the automotive kingdom. Accessories include fender skirts and a windshield visor, both popular in 1949 and lending this Chevy an upscale look. The chrome and brightwork has been fully restored as well, including the beautiful plastic hood ornament, which is pretty cool all by itself. Nice stainless trim buffs up beautifully and the blue dots in the taillights seem to be the only non-original feature. For understated elegance, nothing beats the 1940s. The striped upholstery, the low-key carpets, and the beautifully simple instrument panel make this Chevy as inviting as your grandmother\'s house. All of it has been correctly restored and it shows only minor signs of use, most notably some light stretching of the front seat upholstery. Otherwise, it looks very fresh and very well done. The gauges are all housed in a single round pod ahead of the driver and the effect is very appealing. Bakelite knobs control lights and wipers, and there\'s a 3-speed manual transmission on the steering column, so brush up on your shifting. This is one of the few \'40s cars we\'ve featured where the original AM radio is functional, which is always a nice surprise, and that odd-looking device atop the speedometer pod is called a \"trafficator\" which is a prism that allows the driver to see overhead stop lights despite the large exterior visor. Neat, right? The back seat is completely untouched and for family vacations, the big trunk with rubber mat and matching spare tire is ideal. Chevy\'s bulletproof 216 cubic inch inline-six was the backbone of the company for decades, and in this car it affords bright performance and reasonable economy, too. Insanely simple to work on and famous for its durability and smoothness, you\'ll find that this is an easy car to love. The engine bay is nicely detailed with corporate blue paint on the block and reproduction decals throughout. It starts easily with a great six-cylinder grumble from the single tailpipe and is happy to cruise at 60 MPH without complaints. Brakes are drums at all four corners, of course, but they\'re powerful enough for this car\'s modest performance and the ride will surprise you. It\'s quite clean underneath, proving that it spent its life in a mild climate, and with 6.70-15 wide whites on painted steel wheels with trim rings and hubcaps, it looks dashing from any angle. A very neat little car with a restoration that cost several orders of magnitude more than the asking price. If you like these cars, you\'ll probably have a hard time finding a nicer 4-door anywhere. So this wild red 1949 Chevrolet coupe is attractive from across a show field, but those who get close can see the serious upgrades. They did not know it at the time, but Chevrolet was working its way towards an icon in 1949. By the mid-50s we'd have the legendary Bel Air shape, and you can see the beginnings of that in this Styleline business coupe. But this car is much more curvaceous. The hood has an aggressive bulge, and the rear fenders bow out like you know there is serious power coming out of those large rear wheels. When you painted one this ultra-hot shade of red, and add some staggered Torq Thrust wheels, this becomes one fast-looking hot rod. Of course, all that amazing looking chrome up front doesn't hurt, too. The dark gray cloth interior is a complete custom job, because after all, there were no comfortable high-back bucket seats in the 40s. Comfort is a central theme here, with a custom-made center console, and armrests in each door. Power windows were added, along with a well-integrated air conditioning system that runs modern R134a. The driver gets a terrific woodgrained steering wheel, excellent steering column, and beyond that, a full set of VDO gauges has been custom fitted into the dashboard's original opening. Open the hood and you can see where some serious money was spent. That's a 350 cubic inch Vortec V8, fully dressed in chrome and ready to rock. It includes an Edelbrock performance air filter, Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, and performance intake manifold to handle the induction duties. Plus, there's a modern serpentine belt setup for the accessory drive that tucks the components in tight to the block, and a custom aluminum radiator doesn't sweat hot days. There's plenty of reliable power churning out of this motor to make the dual exhaust howl if you really want, but there is also another side to this custom car. The mufflers can keep this car somewhat mellow, and instead just enjoy the evening cruising in your air-conditioned coupe while the TH350 three-speed automatic ticks away the gears with ease. This is a power steering car, and up front there's an independent suspension and disc brakes. So this one could be a Friday night brawler if you like, but it's quite comfortable just being you all-day Sunday cruiser, too. The business coupe was the rarest of all the '49 Chevy Stylelines, and someone invested a plenty into turning this into one slick creation. Here's an affordable custom build ready for whoever snatches it up first. 1949 Chevy 3100 TruckWe have a beautiful 1949 Chevy truck for sale. It has had a lot of work done to it but needs a few things done to finish her off. Equipped with a manual 3 speed transmission and a straight 6 cylinder engine. They are both believed to be out of an 80's model Chevy. The mileage on either is unknown. They could have both been rebuilt as far as I know. They both run fantastic. The engine starts up every time in the first push of the button and the transmission shifts great. With new wheels, tires, shocks and master cylinder, battery, fuel line and more this truck runs and stops very good and comfortable. This truck was being restored in stages. The interior and the bed needs finished off. All the body work was done other than the inside of the bed. The inside of the bed was sprayed just for looks but not clear coated. There is some rust on the front rail of the bed that needs fixed before painting it properly. The rest of the truck was done nice and the owner just want to get it on the road before finishing the wood and paint on the bed of the truck. The cab and fenders look good. The running boards are not perfect but also look very good from five feet. If you are trying to find imperfections in the body work, you can find a few little dings. There is a little bit of rust on the interior when you open the doors. This is not a show truck but a fun driver. There are still some dings and little dents on the bed also. Some of the original wood is still in the bed but it has a sheet of plywood over it. It is not a high end $10,000 paint job but it looks good from 5 feet away. If you look close you can see a little orange peel and there is one little run right under the drivers door handle. The truck does not have the original tail gate either. It truck does come with the white and blue paint to finish the bed or do any touch ups in the future. Gauges work other than the speedo and all the lights work as they should. The wipers are not hooked up and either is the heater. Again, with out the original engine and in this color this truck is not for the purist and this is not being sold as a show truck, but a very good looking and very nice driving 1949 truck. The glass and seals were all replaced when the paint was done a few years back. The passengers side glass is cracked but the truck comes with a brand new piece of glass for it. Also, it comes with an extra corner window in case one ever breaks. Both doors shut nice and solid and the hood is easy to open and shut. The frame and undercarriage are solid. The interior floor is very solid but the seat needs re upholstered and the head liner is missing one piece (probably just replace the hole head liner). It needs carpet as well. I don't think I'm missing anything but please feel free to email any questions and leave your # if you would like a call back. Thank you, Kevin Terms of Sale: Upon completion of Auction, a $1,000.00 non-refundable deposit shall be sent to Seller within 48 hours. The $1,000.00 non-refundable deposit may be made by electronic bank wire transfer, certified bank check /cashier's check, money order, or PayPal. Upon purchase of the vehicle, the deposit shall be applied to the purchase price. Full purchase amount must be sent to seller within 7 days. They're pretty rare today, which makes this 1949 Dodge Wayfarer a one-of-a-kind rod that will definitely generate attention at the next big show. Simple, clean styling was Chrysler's post-war image and the Wayfarer was a way to inject some fun back into the automotive marketplace. That's particularly true of this car, which today wears a coat of attractive Prowler Purple, a luxurious hue that looks good on just about everything. There's a lot of smooth sheetmetal underneath helping to make that paint look good and the panels all line up well, an unexpected bonus on a car in this price range. Some of the original trim has been shaved, but not so much that the car's identity is lost, and with some contrasting chrome bits like the polished grille, neat trunk emblem, and period-perfect taillights, it has a great 1940s look with a twist. The chrome that is on the car is in good condition, with a few pieces perhaps being original and showing some signs of age, but even that doesn't diminish what is a very appealing car. The Wayfarer originally came with a wide bench seat that might have accommodated three people, but today it's strictly a two-seater with a pair of leather-wrapped buckets from a late-model. The tan upholstery is in very good condition and the seats are far better than anything you could get in 1949. Simple door panels were installed to complement the seats and the carpets are a slightly darker shade to help keep things looking clean. Factory instruments are arranged ahead of the driver, with a full set of auxiliary gauges set into the center of the dash, including a tachometer. A modern steering column fits neatly in the original wheel's place and the column-mounted shifter was replaced by a B&M unit mounted on the floor. And don't worry, there's a CD player mounted on the package shelf behind the seats. As I said, the Wayfarer never had any windows, but this one does have a nice-fitting tan convertible top with an oval rear window that's there in emergencies. The trunk is largely original with good floors, a full-sized spare, and plenty of room for your gear. A tried-and-true 350 cubic inch Chevy V8 replaces the original flathead six, and performance is, as you'd expect, a lot more entertaining. It's not a radical engine, so it starts easily, idles nicely, and moves the slick little ragtop without working hard. It also makes great V8 sounds and supports things like power disc brakes, a TH400 3-speed automatic transmission, and an independent front suspension that rides hand handles like a modern car. There's a 4-barrel carburetor and a mellow-sounding dual exhaust system, which will definitely get the attention of any Dodge fans at the shows, and the car has a fairly stock stance which helps with the old-school look. Aluminum wheels dress it up a bit and carry 225/60/15 Goodyear radials at all four corners so it rides and handles rather well. A rare car that looks great and drives even better; what more could you ask? This neat Wayfarer will definitely be the talk of any show it attends. All the usual custom tricks plus all the luxury features you'd expect make for one exceptional rod that drives so well you'll want to take it to work every day. Sometimes modern colors just don't work on vintage sheetmetal, but the brilliant copper finish on this fastback definitely works. Taken from the late-model GM color pallet, it give the sleek little Chevy an elegant look without being too over-the-top about it. And you should see it out in the sun! Fit and finish are excellent throughout, with great gaps and a great deal of time invested in subtle modes like the shaved door handles, molded-in fenders, and shaved deck lid. You'll also dig the flush-mounted LED taillights and the nosed and decked hood that don't erase the Fleetline's personality but definitely removes the things that hold up the eye. The original bumpers were restored and tucked in close to the body for a clean look and the original Chevy grill is highly recognizable, even 55 years later. Tasteful is the best way to describe the fully reupholstered interior. Low-back buckets wear pleated leather seat covers that hang on to the '40s design while being thoroughly modern. Custom carpets and mats with the Chevy bowtie emblem add a sophisticated contrast and the door panels were made to match. Even the dash was painted tan instead of body color to keep everything clean. The round factory instrument pod is now filled with Dakota Digital instrumentation and a custom center console was created to house things like the Vintage Air HVAC controls, a Sony AM/FM/CD stereo head unit, and a pair of cup holders, so the dash retains a totally smooth look. Even the billet steering wheel was wrapped in matching tan leather, and we remain very impressed by the workmanship. And even with the fastback profile, the trunk is quite spacious and is outfitted with matching carpets. The engine is a 350 cubic inch V8 that fits quite neatly under the Fleetline's long hood. The firewall was custom made, as were the inner fenders, so the shiny polished engine is beautifully highlighted and most of the plumbing and wiring is cleverly hidden out of sight. Billet valve covers and a matching air cleaner give it a clean, uncluttered look and with a big aluminum radiator up front, there are really no worries about overheating. The transmission is a 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive, so this is a rod you could drive every day if you wanted to and there's really no downside. A custom front suspension with rack-and-pinion steering and A-arms means that it handles and rides like a new car and the burbling Flowmaster exhaust always gets attention. There's a heavy-duty Ford 9-inch rear end on air shocks, so you can fine-tune the ride and attitude regardless of the baggage and with an undercoated chassis, you should have no qualms about putting this one on the road. Beautiful polished billet wheels and 245/45/17 front and 225/45/17 rear Kumho radials round out the package. This is a fully sorted car that drives every bit as great as it looks. If you're looking for something a little beyond the usual Tri-Five, perhaps this sleek Fleetline will fit the bill. 1949 Chevy 3100 Deluxe Cab (5 Window): The 3100 was a truck produced by Chevrolet from 1946 through 1959 and retains an iconic 50's styling that can't be replicated. While the five bar grille remained unchanged for the 1949 model year,  other features such as appearance and finish had changed.  Inner bar assemblies were changed to a Waldorf White finish.  Trucks that featured a rear corner window, a different rear roof panel section were used.  The windshield still  came in two-pieces with a black rubber seal and stainless steel divider bar.  The interior featured wide seats, large windshield, side and rear windows.  The instrument panel displayed fuel gauge and ammeter, pressure heat indicator  and an oil pressure gauge.   As the owner of a classic car dealership, I get to see all flavors of unbelievable classic vehicles. Yet the ones that I love, love, love the most are Chevy trucks! Maybe it was receiveing a classic C10 as my 1st car at 16 or maybe it is  just the lines of these beauties that can't be beat. Needless to say, I'd personally keep all the examples as nice as this 1949 but, ... that would be bad business. What makes this 3100 even harder to let go is the history. Like myself, this classic Chevy started it's life right here in Houston, TX. This amazing truck was purchased new in early November of 1949 at Knapp Chevrolet in downtown Houston. Original title, payment reciepts, Owner Service Policy, and Delco Battery Warranty documentation from this original sale accompany this purchase. This truck was the original owner's pride and joy and was maintained for 40 years until his passing in 1989. This truck was then purchased from his family by a collector just noth of Houston. This second owner performed a ground-up  restoration on the truck in 2003-2004 and later sold it to a local friend, the 3rd owner, in 2012. The most recent owner has decided to reduce his collection of classics and therefore this exceptional 3100 is being offered to the  general public for the first time in 65 years!  The aim of the restoration was to keep the Chevy original and with exception of highway gears and dual exhaust this truck remains very close to how it was when it rolled off the assembly line. The 2,800 mile odometer reading represents the miles since the restoration was completed. You will see in the photos and we'll very honestly disclose that this Chevy is not a trailer queen. But, if you are looking for an outstanding example that retains originality, has great history, and drives great .... this is your truck! The interior is flawless with a perfect and uncut dash, a working original radio, new Saddle seat covers, door panels, and headliner. The Monaco Blue paint shows very nicely, the wood bed is excellent, and the undercarriage is clean.  This 3100 needs nothing and we wouldn't hesitate to jump in it and drive it anywhere. It starts easily, shifts smoothly, stops like it should, and does great at highway speeds. Features and options include; Thriftmaster 235 Inline 6 Cyl, 3 Speed  Transmission, Chrome Bumpers & Mirrors, Visor, Wink Lights, Wheel Skirts, Factory AM/FM Radio, 16" Factory Wheels and thick BF Goodrich Silvertown White Wall Tires! Please review the current guide values for this Deluxe Cab and you will see that you need to move on this purchase quickly! Current CPI Black Book shows a value of $61,175 in #2 condition, KBB places a value of $53,970, and NADA comes in at the lowest at $42,600. As you will see from the video on our website and photos below, this is an exceptional classic Chevy that can be purchased for only $34,988!  With the ""Buy it Now"" option you can own this beautiful 3100 now and receive FREE SHIPPING * to your driveway. Not only is shipping free but we will handle all of the shipping arrangements and provide  complete cargo insurance while in transit. Why wait a week just to be out bid at the last second by another bidder? We sell 90% of our cars with the low "Buy it Now" option. This classic Chevy is not a vehicle you are  going to find at your local dealership. Reserve is set just below the "Buy it Now" price. Why wait? If you are local or have your own transportation arrangements, we may  accept a slightly lower offer. * USA - excludes; Alaska, Hawaii, Washington, & Maine. Here’s your chance to own a bit of history. This driver is outstanding and mildly customized. It is quite the eye-catcher with the updated two-tone matte paint. The previous owner put his heart, soul and wallet into this one of a kind ride and it shows from stem to stern. Sadly he had to part with his pride and joy for health reasons. The exterior is in excellent shape. The two tone matte green and white paint looks great very, very few subtle imperfections. The chrome is in excellent shape throughout, with the exception of the door handles that show some pitting from over the years. Overall, this Chevy is in excellent shape and with its unique paintjob, it’s sure to turn heads anywhere it goes! The front and rear bench seats are in great shape and look like new. You can surely load this car up with lots of friends. The door panels have been customized to match the seating. The matching headliner looks really nice and isn’t sagging or stained. The dashboard has been painted gold and looks incredible with the exterior colors. The dash houses the original gauges, plus an additional Pro Tach tachometer. The original center gauge does show some cracks but it adds to the “Flat Rat” charm of the car. There is an AM/FM/CD player hidden behind the glove box door. The engine is an inline 6 cylinder, complete with glasspacks that sound awesome. It is attached to a manual transmission that is shifted through the floor, making this old Chevy a blast to drive! The car drives strong and starts up with no hesitation. The car sits upon a set of 15” steel wheels with chrome “knock off” hubcaps that have been detailed with some white airbrushing that look amazing with the paint combination! The wheels are wrapped in 215/75R15 Coker Classic white wall tires that really tie together the entire nostalgic look! The VIN is 5GK156450 and the mileage currently shows 60,368. UNFORTUNATELY THERE ARE PEOPLE ON EBAY BIDDING WITH NO INTENTION OR THE MEANS OF EVER PAYING AND DISRUPTING THE LISTINGS. 1947 FORD- HARDTOP, A HISTORIC KUSTOM MAGAZINE SHOW CAR YOU CAN BUILD A LEAD SLED BUT YOU CAN’T BUILD HISTORY! THIS RADICAL KUSTOM HARDTOP HAS BEEN IN MAGAZINES & CAR SHOWS SINCE 1958 ! This 1947 Ford was radically customized over a 2 year build period between 1955 1957 FIRST INDRODUCED ON THE 1958 show circuit As “The Gooney Bird” This 1947 Ford was radically customized between 1955-1957 in upstate New York by Ronlyn Collision. This Ford was Named after the historical Douglas C47/ DC-3 used in WW2 and Korean War known as “The Gooney Bird”, by the pilots who fly them, the name was given to the car by the owner who was a member of the U.S. Air force during the Korean War, he also was responsible for grafted on the 1951 Crown Victoria top at his shop Ronlyn Collision. The car now official known as “The Gooney Bird” competed and WON FIRST PLACE in its class at the very First Clutch Artist AUTO-RAMA in Buffalo New York , July 12-13 1958. The car has been featured in late 50’s and early 60’s Car Craft and Hotrod Magazines as well as in the 1958 NYC NAPA Calendar. “The Gooney Bird” was featured in Car Craft magazine while being shown at the 1962 Buffalo New York Autorama show at the Masten Ave Armory, by the time that show was held the car had already won 6- 1st place trophies in it’s radical hardtop class, it is considered one of the most significant historical customs ever built in the 1950’s to still be fully 100% road worthy and operational today. This 1947 Ford is a true example of an all steel old school 1950’s kustom. I HAVE INCLUDED A COUPLE OF SPECIAL HISTORICAL PHOTOS, WHEN THE CAR WAS FIRST BUILT IT WAS CAMPAIGNED ON THE SHOW CIRCUIT IN ORANGE AND ONE OF THESE SHOTS WAS COLORIZED TO ILLUSTRATE THAT. The Famous George Barris Crest: The story go’s that When Barris first saw “the Gooney Bird” sometime in 1997 while in Buffalo NY it had just undergone a frame off restoration and was still being prep for paint, his initial instinct was that his brother Sam had either built this 1947 Ford or somehow had a hand in building it, when he realized that Sam hadn’t built the car he wanted to badge this 1947 Ford Coupe with his logo Crests stating that it is a true example of a traditional historical 1950’s custom that he and Sam would have built and deserved to ware the famous Barris Crest, this is the ultimate endorsement by the King of custom cars., George also signed his name to the dash. “The Gooney Bird” has worn those famous Barris Crest ever since that time. The car was frame off restored between 1996- 1997, most of the original lead from the 1955/57 build was removed during this time, the body was soda blasted and a fresh engine was installed, the car had ran a Buick Nailhead engine since the 1950’s, that engine was replaced with a big block Oldsmobile engine which remained in the car until 2009 when the 2002 Ford GT 4.6 engine & trans was installed. 57 years after its original build the body lines are still beautiful and the car runs flawlessly. After being taken out of the public eye for many years “The Gooney Bird” showed up on the show circuit again in 2000 and went on to take second in its class at the 2000 Detroit Autorama, it’s also on the 2004 December cover of KKOA magazine. It won a Preservation Award at the 2009 -6th annual Ink–n-Iron show held at the Queen Mary in Long Beach California then it took 2nd place “Post War Custom” in 2010 at the Long Beach Motorama. Was chosen Best Custom award at the 2011 West Coast Kustoms “Cruisin Nationals” Santa Maria show by Rodz Deluxe for its workmanship. In 2012 Car Kulture De Luxe did a beautiful 3 page color center fold spread on the car. In July of 2014 the car won The Crown Of Lake Arrowhead for best Kustom car on the mountain. Here is a overview of the vehicle; all Items highlighted in RED were upgraded on the car since 2009. Instead, check out the build quality, the long list of modifications, and the equipment, then look at the price. Amazing, right? You couldn't possibly duplicate this car for three times the asking price, making this cool Chevy one heck of a bargain. The body is a '53, but if you know your Chevys, you've already spotted the 1949 Chevy front fenders, the frenched 1954 taillights, and the Corvette Millennium Yellow paint. Together, they make for one of the most remarkable delivery trucks we've ever seen. Check out how the rear fenders were molded into the bodywork, the frenched headlights and antenna, and the shaved trim. Even close up, you'll be impressed by the bodywork, which is laser-straight, even on those large side panels, which are just waiting for your business's logo to do some work. The finish is brilliant, deep, and shiny, probably better than it looked on the Corvette, making this a very high-visibility hot rod. The trim that was left on the car, most notably the grille and bumpers, were painted to match, giving it a monochromatic look that works rather well, but details like the windshield surround, door handles, and side mirrors remain bright, shiny metal just for a little contrast. Yeah, these guys knew what they were doing when they put this one together. Forget putting this hauler to work, because the interior is just beautifully crafted. Late-model bucket seats are wrapped in attractive tan upholstery that looks brand new. Nice door panels have a vintage look and retain the original door hardware, tying everything together neatly. The dash is actually pretty stock, with a full array of VDO gauges stuffed into the original housing using a custom billet panel. There's also a woodgrained wheel on a tilt column, a custom enclosure for the Vintage Air A/C system, and a fabricated center console with an OEM shifter for the 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission. For true utility, a pair of bucket seats were installed as a second row, so this is no longer purely a 2-seater and there's still a cavernous cargo bay that's as nicely upholstered as the rest of the interior. Overhead there's a custom console that stretches all the way back and an AM/FM/cassette stereo system provides plenty of entertainment, say, at a tailgate party. The 350 cubic inch V8 is from a late 70s Camaro and has been rebuilt with a few choice upgrades to make it powerful as well as reliable. An Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and matching intake manifold make it torquey and smooth, and just about everything you can see or touch under the hood is new. Billet valve covers and a matching air cleaner give it a custom look and details like the brake booster and master cylinder that have been painted to match the body are a nice touch. A big aluminum radiator keeps it cool and the aforementioned 700R4 transmission means it's an effortless cruiser, especially with highway-friendly gears out back. A Fat Man Mustang II front suspension adds disc brakes and rack-and-pinion steering, so it feels quite modern, while the 10-bolt rear end hangs on traditional leaf springs. A custom dual exhaust system sounds throaty enough to suit its look and custom-painted Rally wheels and 225/70/15 BFG radials are the right choice. This truck is beautifully built and ready to cruise, and we can guarantee you'll never see another one quite like it.
