Radio, Heater/Ventilator, Clock, Bumper Guards, Fender Skirts . The Styline was a huge success for Chevrolet with over 1,500,000 sold in 1950. The combination of a stylish mid-market car and a cornucopia of trim and accessory options was the recipe for one of the best selling models in the automaker\'s history. Incidentally this was the same year that the iconic Belair model was introduced, though it hadn\'t sold nearly as well.The 1950 Chevrolet Styleline deluxe sedan featured here is almost entirely a \'survivor\' original car. Only the tires are of recent manufacture. This Chevy has not been restored, but several decades of consistent maintenance have kept it running strong for 65 years. The paint and chrome are good to very good while developing an exceptional patina that\'s 100% authentic. This car has spent virtually all of it\'s life over two miles above sea level in the High Rockies. This dry mountain climate was instrumental in the preservation of this fine styleline. Interior is in good condition, which under any other circumstances would have deteriorated significantly beyond it\'s very presentable appearance. Engine starts promptly and runs well. Our staff was pleased with the initial test drive and found the car quite roadworthy. This Hudson Hauler was built on a Hudson six sedan chassis. The cab and hood are adapted directly from the Hudson car body placed in front of the long pickup bed.The Hudson pickup shared the car\'s column-mounted shift and independent front suspension. The Cab pickup sold for $1,154 when new and was limited to a 3/4 ton model, opposed to the Pre-WWII years that included a 1/2 ton. There were just 3374 units produced in 1946. Hudson discontinued its pickup line for 1948 to reduce cost and focus production resources on the upcoming \'Step-Down\' passenger cars. These days the Hudson express and utility cab pickups are considered by some collectors as the most attractive pickup from the Pre 1950\'s era. Auto historians cite the Hudson cab pickup as one of the early inspirations for Chevrolet\'s El Camino and Ford\'s Ranchero and it\'s easy to see why.This Hudson 3/4 ton arrives to our showroom in well-preserved condition.
