This is the rare truck everyone's after with the big wraparound window and the fleetside bed. Powered by a SBC 400 bored over to a 406 engine, floor shifter with 3:76 gears in the rear end. The truck has a 3" drop axle in the front with some Mono Leaf Drop springs in the front, and air bagged in the rear. Body is in solid condition with one significant ding on the driver side cab and a few other very minor imperfections and some great patina...overall the truck is solid all the way around and is not a frankenstein truck (not piece mealed together). It can sit for a month and start right up on a dime. Truck's pretty much had all the essentials done to it to look good and run solid. Today, trucks like this 1959 Apache have an undeniable appeal with lots of chrome, wonderful styling, and a bunch of still-usable functionality. This one also happens to offer a strong-running V8 with overdrive and a tastefully upgraded interior to go with it, making for a truck that you can drive anywhere. Any vehicle from the '50s is not going to be subtle, so you may as well paint it bright red. The fact that red works so well on the Apache is a happy coincidence, but to be honest, these trucks look right in just about any color. The bodywork is in excellent condition, showing not only quality workmanship but a lifetime of pretty easy living because the thing fits together too well to have ever been broken and abused. The stepside bed offers practicality as well as a great look with those bulging rear fenders, and the way they're artfully styled to match the bodywork is more evidence that Chevy knew styling sold trucks as well as cars. The finish was applied a few years ago, so it's got some signs of use, but the overall look is quite appealing and it sure shines up nicely. Details like chrome bumpers, the wide grille, and quad headlights help strengthen the link between the passenger car line and the trucks, and the bed is beautifully restored with the requisite varnished wood and body-colored rub strips. Using a power seat from a late-model means that climbing into this vintage Apache feels very familiar. It's easy to get comfortable in the big overstuffed leather seats and with carpeted floors, it's rather luxurious inside. A polished tilt column and a billet steering wheel add comfort without removing style and the original dashboard has been filled with a set of modern gauges in a billet panel that fits like the original. There's a Sunpro tach and shift light mounted overhead, which is a unique way to do it that we've not seen before, but we definitely like it! An AM/FM/CD stereo lives in the glove box so that the dash can keep its mostly original configuration and thanks to the use of extensive sound-deadening materials in the cab, it's nice and quiet on the road. This is one old pickup that doesn't feel like an old pickup from behind the wheel. A strong-running 350 cubic inch V8 delivers probably twice as much power as the original engine would have, perhaps even more if this truck was a six, so it's quite entertaining on the road. An upgraded 4-barrel carburetor and intake manifold offer snappy throttle response and with that oversized radiator and electric fan, this truck doesn't seem to mind sitting in traffic. A few chrome dress-up pieces make it look tidy under the hood and the long-tube headers feed a rumbling Flowmaster dual exhaust system with chrome tips peeking out from under the rear bumper. Thanks to a 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission, this truck is now a superlative highway cruiser and with the suspension lowered four inches, it has a wonderfully aggressive look that doesn't seem to compromise its ability to carry a load. A full Mustang II front suspension with power rack-and-pinion steering plus four-wheel disc brakes mean that it rides and handles like a far younger truck and the color-matched Rallys with 235/70/15 radials are exactly the right choice. PLEASE DO NOT BID IF YOU DO NOT INTEND TO BUY THIS VEHICLE. THANK YOU 1959 Chevy Apache Pickup You are looking at a mostly original 1959 Chevy Apache 3100 pickup. It is a short bed. This truck came from Arkansas this year. This truck has a nice 235 c.i. inline 6 cylinder motor that runs and sounds great. It has the higher compression "848" head which was an option on these trucks. Good oil pressure and no cooling issues. I do not see any water, oil or transmission leaks. It has the 3-speed transmission with the floor shifter (column shaft and dog ears are still there if you would like to change it back to column shift). It still has the starter on the floor. This truck has been changed over to a 12 volt system. Electric wipers have been installed and work well. All gauges work except for the speedometer (we will try to get this fixed before the end of auction). Fuel tank has been removed from behind the seat and an aluminum fuel cell with guage has been installed in the bed. Bed is textured plate steel. The body on this truck is very straight and solid. Paint is in very nice condition with only a few scratches on the rear bumper. There is a very small door ding on the passenger side door which is almost unnoticeable with no chipping of paint(see picture). Cab corners are good. As you can see the step wells are very solid as are the door hinge pockets. Doors do not sag and they open and close properly. Door handles and window cranks all work as they should. Glass is in good shape with the exception of some typical delamination of the vent glass. There is some pitting in the front bumper but overall it looks pretty good. The only real flow in the body is some pitting on the bottom part of a rear fender. It is not visible unless you get underneath. We have just installed new carpet over very solid floor pans and have had the seat professionally reupholstered. Clean title in hand. Sanded the body to bare metal and painted back the old school way, took the engine apart and overhauled it to the last bolt, then went on and redid all electric wiring in the truck, from there went and changed the brakes and brake lines gas tank was recoated, starter, the list goes on and on the only thing that we didn't do on the truck was the rear end which will need to be done. we sold the shop for personal reasons so the truck has to go. truck runs like brand new the only thing like I said it need a rear end. if any interest and you would like to check out the truck please contact me.

There are a lot of ways to build a cool ride without spending cubic dollars, and this 1959 Chevy Apache pickup could be used as a how-to guide for doing it right. Sure, it still packs its original six-cylinder engine, but that\'s all part of the charm, and the upgrades it does have are smart and stylish so it really needs no apologies. The soft ivory color on this truck is quite close the original color this one was born with when new, and you have to agree it looks great on this truck. The bright red roof helps to complete a very 1950\'s nostalgia-inspired look, making this one of the more rare trucks you\'ll find at any show. Workmanship on the body and paint restoration was done quite nicely, and fit and finish are exactly right for a vehicle designed \"for economical transportation\" as the door tag suggests. It doesn\'t appear that this was ever a rusty truck and critical areas like the cab corners, fender edges, and the bed sides are solid. Speaking of the bed, it\'s steel and finished to the same level as the rest of the truck, so while it\'ll happily haul your gear, you\'ll have to decide if you\'re ready. There\'s some chrome and detailing on the working-class pickup, and it retains original-style white painted bumpers that are a nod to tradition. No truck was this luxurious inside back in 1959, but the upgrades are certainly welcome. The original bench now wears brand new tan leather with red inserts to tie it in with the exterior paint, and the vivid red carpet, dash, and steering column provide contrast. That is the original steering wheel, painted red and placed within easy reach of the 3-speed column-mounted shifter. The instrument panel is stock with crisp markings and a look that was clearly lifted from the passenger car line. Aftermarket turn signals were fitted to the steering column (hard to believe that they were still not standard equipment on trucks in 1959), and this Apache stays true to its roots and doesn\'t include a radio. Sometimes basic is good. In a world full of Chevy trucks with \"me too\" small block V8s, it\'s refreshing to see an original 235 cubic inch inline-six still under the hood of this Apache. Certainly willing and able to work hard, it has a great trucky sound and smooth torque that only six cylinders in a line can deliver. It\'s wearing the proper corporate blue engine enamel, an oil bath air cleaner, and single-barrel carburetor. The stock 3-speed manual transmission lives behind it and spins the original rear end, so this truck will still haul a load without breaking a sweat, and cruises happily at highway speeds. Who says you need a crate motor to enjoy your old iron? There are also new shocks, super clean floors, a brand new exhaust system, and stylish chrome wheels with smoothie hubcaps and 235/75/15 blackwall radials for the perfect truck look.
