When I purchased this car, it was a running, driving, registered car with a new engine out-chrome off paint job. The work I have done since then is quite extensive! Some 49 different things. Some of which includes an all NEW interior including an as original red leather seats, a new hand custom tailor made Hartz clothe top, Dash pad, all new brakes including drums, cylinders, and master. Front suspension with new coil springs and bushings as needed plus new gas tank with fuel sender. Rebuilt steering column, all new rubber seals including windshield and seal with all new side glass, 5 new wide white wall tires and all new chrome. A Rebuilt transmission, relined the trunk and as you can see from the pictures, untold hours of detailing to make it right. This car is smooth and quiet and a delight to drive and look at. Please have a look at the pictures give me a call at 256-996-7696 I just took this car in on trade so I am selling it very reasonable this is a restored 59 Thunderbird with a great body I have not found any rust on it it is solid underneath someone has spent a lot of money restoring this car there is no body damage it has disc brakes on the front a nice set of wheels and tires the motor has definitely been rebuilt and a lot of extra stuff added I don't know the specs but I believe it is the original motor and transmission it does have an aluminum radiator on aluminum high rise intake with a 4-barrel carburetor and a very nice exhaust system on the car the person traded it to me said they spent over $15,000 in the restoration alone the car show is 92000 Miles it will be sold with a bill of sale only I am an Alabama dealer and will give bill of sale with the car the car runs and drives fine the only flaw is that I know of there is a run in the paint on the passenger side quarter panel the driver's side door window has a crack in it and there is a small noise in the engine at idle sounds like a push rod there is a pair of new pushrods in the glove box I can help arrange shipping or you can fly into the Chattanooga airport I am 30 minutes south of there

Driver's side: vent window is re-chromed and fitted with NOS locking handle, rear driver's side window re-chromed, all glass and rubber replaced with new, and power window motor and mechanism restored, with NOS locking mechanism and lock. New head liner w/NOS interior light. Noise dampening material plus insulation under headliner and under new rugs. NOS Speedometer and NOS fuel gauge , clock restored and working. Dash pad replaced. Radio replaced with excellent chrome, not powered, modern radio installed under passenger seat. New glove box liner w/ near perfect glove box door, mechanism rebuilt and NOS lock button. When I bought it (5k miles ago), engine had just been rebuilt. Transmission is fine, new stainless steel cooling lines. NOS leaf springs w/all new rubber. Front disc brakes. Custom Cragar SS wheels, new tires back, good tires front. Rebuilt power steering pump and piston. New chrome generator and belts. New fuel pump, new Holly carburetor, polished aluminum Edelbrock manifold (Original manifold and carb come with). New Mallory electronic distributer. Exterior: Newly chromed front and rear bumpers with restored bumper bracketing (rear bumper has small scratch on underside). New turn signal lenses. Perfect grill which has been powder coated. All stainless removed and polished. NOS trunk lock and emblem (just try and find one). NOS front hood emblem (again, just try and find one). Very good to excellent side roof emblems. NOS 'thunderbird' script emblems. Very good taillight metal with very minimal superficial pitting (only place on car with any pitting, see pics). New antenna. NOS stainless windshield wipers. Roof repainted, body paint excellent (two chips, see pics). New drivers side door handle, NOS locks. Things it still needs: Power seat needs to be powered. Windshield wipers don't work; has been retrofitted with electric some time ago, I never drive in the rain so I haven't bothered with it. Speedometer intermittently fails, haven't trouble-shot that, but suspect if's a speedo cable issue. There's a small tear in the dash pad at the extreme right hand side down low, which could be repaired by someone who knows what they're doing, but I don't have that skill. There is an extremely small power steering leak but I've not bothered to pinpoint it. The power window switches all work but are not correct in the sense that the upper right switch will power the lower left window. 1959 Ford Thunderbird Convertible I have a long history with this car but the short story is: I bought this car in 1974 when I was 19 years old. After 4 years I sold it to a good friend who babied it and kept it in a nice climate controlled garage for the next 36 years. Occasionally it got out to a car show or out for a Sunday Drive. About a year and a half ago it came back into my possession. I have found, in the time I have owned it that I just am not really the kind of person to own a 56 year old car. I have other interests in my life that seem to take priority. The car definitely is a looker though. Any drive will elicit lots of horn honking and waving.. I've probably put less than 1000 miles on it since I have had it. I had a complete tuneup done with new plugs and wires. The car runs great. Starts right up, transmission shifts smoothly. Top electrics work fine. I'm kind of disappointed that I didn't get it out more this summer but I am quite involved with motorcycles and that really is more of a passion for me. This car is a survivor . Body is almost rust free with just a tiny amount down by the wheel openings. Much of the interior has been replaced. Carpets like new. New floor mats. Dash was replaced. Door panels are decent but one has small rips by the pull handle and the other has a small tear by the door handle. Top and rear window are actually original. I've tried to show condition with pictures. Radio lights up but doesn't play. Clock doesn't work. Vacuum wipers want to work but go about halfway and then stop. The Kelsey Hayes wire wheels were purchased by me back in 1975 from a 62 or 63 Sports Roadster. They are not reproductions. They are in great shape. I believe the car was repainted in the early 70's. Looks great from 20 feet but obviously not show condition. Car runs and drives good. Much of the suspension and brakes was rebuilt a few years ago. There is a leak in the exhaust manifold on the left side. Not huge but you can hear it. The transmission shifts smoothly thru all the gears but the linkage is out of adjustment and it doesn't allow you to go into low gear. D1 and D2 both work properly though. There are a few fluid leaks. One seems to be power steering although I've only added a little one time and a small leak at the rearend. I'm not a mechanic and can't tell you a whole lot more about the mechanical condition. took it out for about a 75 mile drive awhile back with some other "Cars of the Jet Age" and it ran great. I was suppose to be receiving a lot of the paperwork dealing with the cars history and service records but as of yet am still waiting. They may or may not be forthcoming. I listed this at $27,500 based on the low side of Hagerty's Classic Car Value guide. Several people I've talked to seemed to think that was a reasonable starting point. The pictures with the top down were taken the summer of 2014 and the car had the wider white walls on it. I still have these tires but they are bias ply and I suspect over 30 years old. I didn't feel safe driving with them although the have plenty of tread and show no cracking. The pictures with the top up were taken this past October and have the smaller whitewalls and radial tires on it. I'd be happy to talk with anybody who has a serious interest in the car. I'm looking for a good home for it with someone who has a real passion for cars like this and would treat it with the respect it deserves. I feel it's spent too much of it's life in a garage under cover. The final picture is my friend Barry, (the previous owner) with a couple of the Beach Boys, (Mike Love and Bruce Johnston) at Tulalip Casino a few years back. Offering for sale is a good driver quality #3 condition 1959 Thunderbird convertible. A friend of mine built this car from an almost rust free body. Build is photo documented throughout the build. There was just a couple of minor mud trap spots and a little under the rear seat. For a convertible was real solid. He had the engine and transmission remanufactured back to original specifications and have all receipts. Brakes and fuel system were done likewise again have all receipts. Paint was done by a body shop and looks real good. The only problem I have with the car is the fit on the grille where meets the upper panel and the rear of the deck lid. These two should have had a better fit by the body shop. Paint has had a few brush touch ups here and there from being a driver but minor. There are some more minor areas that could be done now but again very minor. Very shallow and minor lengthwise scratch on the right rear quarter just above and forward of the wheel opening. So minor the paint is still there. The seam where the nose meets the fenders has a small stress crack at the leaded seam. Paint is smooth and comparable to quality of when new in 1959 but could be polished to a very high luster. This car shines good just giving my opinion of how it can be improved without spending money. No smoke,lifter noise,leaks. Engine has had everything done including being bored with new pistons,cam,bearings etc. Transmission works good and does not leak. Has a small slow P/S leak. Looks like from a fitting at the control valve. Rarely needs fluid. Stops good and straight. Has sound deadener under the carpet throughout. New door sill plates and weather stripping. The previous owner did a lot of real good work on this car. Made it into a real good driver quality. Just needs some of the little things done to make it a lot nicer. Was originally a red car and why he chose yellow is beyond me. Being almost 60 years old and a collector car is being sold as is. Ask questions early and I will do my best to answer them. You would be hard pressed to find a rebuildable car and do what this car has had done to it for the money asking for it. Priced below the Price Guides average actual sales. Hard tops bring as much or more in the same condition. This car could be set back a few years and a profit made and do nothing to it except store it properly. May consider partial pre emission trade or antique motorcycles. For sale locally and on other sites. This has been a real head turner wherever we drive it. I am not hungry so please no unreasonable offers. If trades are considered it will be at my idea of worth.

This is a Stunning T-bird, the Paint, Interior and Upholstery are all Gorgeous. It is the 430cu, 350 V8 Engine with the Cruisematic Transmsision and the 2:91:1 Axle. The Original Door Tag is in Place and clearly visible. There is no rust anywhere on the car, the trunk, rocker panels, wheel wells, engine compartment and top are all clean. It is currently Owned and titled in the State of Oregon and is owned by a customer of ours. He purchased it 10 years ago, had it repainted and used it for Cruise Ins and Car shows. There was a bunch of work done in 2013, which includes the following; New Front Shocks, New Transmission Pan Gasket, New Oil Pan Gasket and Drain Plug, New Brake Master Cylinder, New Brake Lamp Switch, New Rear Shocks, New Exhaust Pipe Hanger, Cooling System Flush, Transmission Flush and Torque Converter Flush, Rebuilt Carburetor, New Seat Belts, New Radiator Cap, New Ignition and Coil, New Plugs and Wires, New Distributor, and Oil Change. It starts Immediately and runs smoothly. All of the Windows roll down smoothly and all of the glass is in excellent condition. The wipers work, the turn signals both work, the fans work, and the interior dome light is bright. There was an aftermarket Tachometer, AMP and Oil Gauge added, all of which work. There has been an afermarket alarm added, which operates with 2 fobs, both of which we have. There is a CD Player in the glove box. The wheels and tires are in great shape. All of the exterior chrome is in excellent condition, there is some new interior chrome trim around the windows. The headliner looks to be original as do the visors. The trunk has been completely lined and includes a full size spare tire and jack. It is a dual exhaust car, all of which is new and sounds great. VIN: H9YJ159929 Colonial White Exterior with Turquoise/White Interior and Turquoise Power Top; 352 Cubic Inch/300 hp V8 Engine; Automatic; Numbers Matching; Original Colors; Owners Manual; Power Steering; Power Brakes; Excellent, Original Car. This 1959 Ford Thunderbird “Squarebird” was built in Wixom, Michigan on July 20, 1959. It is in excellent, original condition. The Thunderbird has seldom been driven and the current condition (see below) backs up claims of the 8,904 miles being original. It is a wonderful example of a factory correct, as-built Thunderbird from 1959. It starts, runs, and drives exceptionally well and has been maintained by Fox Motorsports. The previous owner replaced knobs, rubber seals, decals, and switches (keeping receipts of all). The original Colonial White paint shows wonderful patina, with only a few touched-up spots and minor flaws. The chrome/stainless trim is original and in very good condition, with only minor wear. The front bumper and grill have been rechromed. The T-Bird retains all factory drain holes, body seams, and original metal. There is no bodywork or filler and the car has never been repainted (other than the tops of the doors). Electronic paint gauge measurements show consistent 4-6 mil readings over the entire body of the car with the door tops reading 11-12 mils. These readings confirm the lack of filler or bodywork. The original lead seams have also been confirmed. The interior is extremely nice, with very little wear and only two minor tears (passenger door panel and rear seat). The underside of the car is original and still maintains inspection marks on the driveshaft. The paper ID/catalog tag is still affixed to the rear differential (done by Ford during original assembly). The engine compartment is extremely clean and detailed. Proper tags, washer bag, air cleaner, generator, starter, and automatic windshield washer pump are present and all in excellent condition.
