Here's a secret: Mustangs are really Falcons underneath. Yes, that's right, this cool 1964 Ford Falcon Futura hardtop runs and drives just like its more popular brother for a fraction of the cost. Complete with a strong-running 302 and a great paint job, it's also somewhat rare in its own right. Restored several years ago, they decided to keep the bright, vivid code F Guardsman Blue; why change a good thing? Thanks to excellent care and maintenance, the finish remains shiny with only a few minor blems from being driven and enjoyed, and you certainly can't blame them for that. There's a bit of metallic in the paint, too, so the compact Falcon seems to take on the look of a bigger, more substantial car and the light plays over the detailing that's often lost on solid colors. For instance, dig the vestigial tail fins, the dual reliefs running down the center of the hood like racing stripes, and the cool way the sheetmetal follows the contours of the side trim. Never noticed that stuff on a Falcon before, did you? The car looks great in person, and you'll be proud to roll up to the next cruise night behind the wheel, and you'll undoubtedly get extra appreciation for daring to be a little different. Matching blue buckets give the interior a sporty demeanor, and there's plenty of space for four in this cool ragtop. Since blue is the car's original interior color, it has a very uniform look thanks to a lot of new parts, including carpets with the correct weave along with fresh door panels, a new dash pad, and even proper blue sun visors. The Falcon didn't necessarily include a center console, and many prefer the purposeful look of this car, which uses a column shifter for the C4 3-speed automatic transmission. The gauges are basic, but they all work, and the original AM radio remains in place. It's extremely clean and the lack of modifications suggests that someone cared about making this one right rather than customizing it to their tastes. We always appreciate that. The steering wheel is particularly nice, with a bright chrome horn ring and button that add a little flash to the utilitarian passenger compartment. There's also a new mat and spare tire cover, which give the trunk a factory-correct look. The 302 cubic inch V8 nestled between the shock towers looks awfully familiar, doesn't it? It does a great impersonation of the original 260 and brings a few extra horsepower. It's not over-dressed, but with a chrome air cleaner and Ford Blue valve covers, it looks nice enough that you can tell it's been loved. Thanks to a 4-barrel carburetor, it makes great power and a wonderful V8 soundtrack, moving the lightweight Falcon easily. A Ford C4 3-speed automatic transmission can take the abuse and delivers better entertainment than you'd expect: just stomp and steer and this little car rears up and goes! Out back, there's a street-friendly 8-inch rear end, plus a lot of new suspension components, including the entire front end. One glance underneath will convince you that this Falcon has nothing to hide. It's highly original, very solid, and there's no thick coating of rustproofing goop designed to hide shoddy workmanship. The exhaust sounds muscular without being obnoxious, making this Falcon more of a sleeper than any Mustang could ever muster, and those handsome 15-inch Torque Thrust wheels and 215/65/15 General tires fit perfectly and look right. For all the thrills of a Mustang in a more unusual and stealthy package, this Falcon deserves a look. This is the true classic Ford enthusiast’s car, the previous owner even kept the original registration cards from the sixties! Finished in a dramatic, rich and code correct Rangoon Red over an exceptional black interior, this very special Fairlane shows extremely well with only minor imperfections visible upon close inspection. Both the front and rear bumpers fit nicely and compliment the body. The Fairlane name was moved to Ford’s new intermediate, introduced for the 1962 model year, to bridge the gap between the compact Ford Falcon and the full-sized Galaxie. Like the Falcon, the Fairlane had a unibody frame, but the body incorporated an unusual feature Ford dubbed ‘torque boxes’, four boxed structures in the lower body structure designed to absorb road shock by moving slightly in the vertical plane. Suspension was a conventional short-long arm independent arrangement in front with Hotchkiss drive in the rear. Inside, the vinyl black front split bench seat and rear bench seat all look great with no major signs of wear visible. The door panels and dashboard are matched to the exterior of the car and look fantastic. Paint and body are exceptional with no visible evidence of repair or damage that we could find. This nicely presented one owner (with original registration cards from the sixties!) Ford Fairlane 500 features a 289 cid, 195hp (C-code)V8 engine with 2 barrel carburetor coupled to a 4- speed manual transmission making this one of the most unique finds one will find now or in the foreseeable future! One of the greatest aspects of the early muscle care era was the capability of these cars to be excellent daily drivers with smooth mild-mannered everyday driving, then with a few modifications, ready for the track at the drop of a hat…or flag! This has to one of the finest low mileage original Fairlanes available on the market today, do not miss out! These C-code Fairlanes are becoming increasingly hard to find in such solid well kept condition, especially fitted with the 4-speed manual transmission from the factory. As Ford themselves said, “The 64 Fairlane has family-size room and sports-car feel” GET OUT AND DRIVE!!! You are looking at a 1964 Ford Falcon Convertible, This car has been a personal project of a very good friend of mine who was building it for his wife, who was a breast cancer survivor, it was being built as a Breast Cancer Survivor themed car, as you can see by the pink ribbons that were inlayed in the seats. She beat the breast cancer but it had spread to other organs and she recently lost that battle. He now wants to sell this project car. The car has a complete frame underneath and everything is brand new, new floor pans, trunk pan, rear quarter panels, were all welded and placed by a professional vintage car shop. New Chrome bumpers still in the wrappers, The motor is a brand new Jasper 302 V-8, with head work and cam. The automatic transmission has been rebuilt, the rear end has been rebuilt, new wiring. Has all the parts to finish, has extra doors, 2 hoods, trunk lid, carpet (black), door panels, 2 front grilles, brand new Crager Mags with New Tires, complete dual exhaust, seats (black) were completely redone by a local ole school upholstery shop, the convertible top is in awesome condition, works well no issues with it. A lot of the parts were OEM, not remanufactured parts. For example had a hard time finding the full rear quarter panels, he could find the repair panels that go around the rear wheels, finally found them in California. This car was a Florida Car the person he bought it from owned it from the early 70's. Everything that was done or bought for this car, no expense was spared, over 4k just having the metal work done, 2k in having the seats re-done, And has a folder of receipts for all the other parts that he purchased. He has well over what he is asking... All this car needs now is someone to finish it the way they want too. Please email me with any questions you may have, The car has been sitting in his garage, that's why it looks so dusty, I was unable to get any under carriage pictures, but I did get a good look and can assure you that it looks brand new except being dusty. I will try to get some under carriage pictures in the near future. I see these cars completed from the ground up going for in the 25k and up price range, this car as I said just needs some ones time and sweat.....Please bid with " No Worries" Check my feedback... I can also help with affordable shipping if needed, I have shipped vehicles to several countries outside the United States, so this is not an issue.......Thank You For Looking !!!

Top-down fun doesn\'t get much more practical than this 1964 Ford Falcon convertible. Restored several years ago, it remains in great shape to drive and enjoy, and with V8 Mustang DNA running through its veins (or, more accurately, the Mustang has Falcon roots), it\'s a lot of fun to drive. There\'s more invested in the restoration than this sticker price shows, and as a result you\'re getting a fully sorted, reliable hobby car with exactly zero needs. The 1964 Falcon got a redesign, and it looks particularly handsome in Raven Black, as on this lovely little ragtop (code A Raven Black is the car\'s original color). The earlier, softer, rounded Falcon got squared-off contours that made it look like its big brother the Galaxie, and the striking trim insert on the sides gives the illusion of greater size. With a paint job that is only a few years old and applied over a very straight, original body, there\'s little to fault with this convertible, even in black. Gaps are remarkably good, and the whole car fits together in a way that belies its price tag. There\'s plenty of brightwork, including beautiful chrome bumpers, a relatively intricate grille, and the side trim that remains in excellent condition. During the restoration, any part that needed to be replaced received an NOS part, which makes for a highly accurate restoration. Nice! That interior is code 65 Red Crush Vinyl, and the bright red upholstery looks spectacular with the shiny black body, and produces a classic contrast that gives the Falcon an upscale look that always attracts attention. The \'64 Falcon also received an all-new dashboard design, which included a then-fashionable strip-type speedometer flanked by auxiliary gauges in round pods. The red finish carries into the interior on the doors and lower dash, and the combination is actually quite pleasing, giving the little car a bright, upbeat look. The original AM radio remains in the dash and there\'s a consolette between the seats that adds some practicality, but that\'s about it for amenities in the economical Falcon. However, there is a new power convertible top that moves effortlessly and stows neatly under a matching vinyl boot. The engine is a neat 260 cubic inch V8, which is smooth and torquey, making a fairly robust 164 horsepower. But it\'s important to remember that a similar engine lived in early Mustangs, and both cars were a pleasure to drive in the 1960s. Finished in correct black engine enamel with bright Ford Blue valve covers and air cleaner, it\'s got a highly detailed stock look, and the overall effect is that someone was sweating the details when this one went back together. The engine and 2-speed automatic transmission were actually rebuilt just a few years ago, and it runs well, moving the little car with aplomb and pulling down surprisingly decent fuel mileage as well, even with 3.25 gears out back. The chassis is basically all original and in good shape, with power steering and drum brakes that work remarkably well given the Falcon\'s light weight. It rides on a set of matching steel wheels with correct wire wheel covers and a new set of 195/75/14 radials that look period-appropriate in the Falcon\'s wheel wells. If you\'re looking for an fun way to enjoy the summer, this high-quality Falcon ragtop is it. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Dallas/Fort Worth showroom. In the days before the Mustang and before the term \"muscle car\" had even been coined, cars like this 1964 Ford Fairlane hardtop were the go-to choices for the guy who liked having fun behind the wheel. Combining classic Ford looks with a snarky 289 cubic inch V8, it\'s a fun, affordable way to enjoy traditional rear-wheel-drive performance with a Blue Oval flavor. Positioned somewhere between the Falcon and the Galaxie, the Fairlane has just the right proportions: big enough to be comfortable but not so big that it dampens performance. Finished in traditional Wimbledon White, it has a look that makes every old-school racer think twice before giving it a go at the local track. Next to the convertible, the hardtop is by far the most desirable body style and the combination of formality and performance is quite appealing. The finish is extremely nice, particularly at this price, with a great gloss and straight bodywork that strongly suggests this car has not been abused or wrecked. The white paint is just the right shade, not quite refrigerator white but not cream, either, and with all the factory brightwork still in place, it looks like it should cost thousands more than it does. In fact, much of the chrome and trim has been recently replaced or restored, so it shows well. The basic black interior was standard issue in the Fairlane, and for guys more interested in going fast, the accommodations were of little consideration. Therefore the original front bench remains in place, now covered with a reproduction seat cover that has sharply defined pleats and silver piping for just a little contrast. The fat wood-rimmed steering wheel is the most notable modification to the interior, but the modern A/C unit disguised as a period under-dash accessory is a very nice touch. The white-faced gauges are original and in decent shape, proving once again that white gauges are far from a recent invention. The factory-issued AM radio is long gone, replaced more recently by an AM/FM/CD stereo head unit, which powers a set of 6x9 speakers on the rear package shelf. The carpets, door panels, and headliner are in excellent condition, offering additional proof that someone invested in this car all out of proportion to its asking price. Even the trunk is nicely upholstered in black carpet rather than the basic rubber mat. It would be a mistake to underestimate Ford\'s muscular 289, because in the relatively lightweight Fairlane, performance is impressive. An Edelbrock intake and Holley 4-barrel carburetor surely add some ponies to the final count, and upgrades like an alternator and power steering make it reliable and comfortable enough to drive every day. Other smart upgrades include front disc brakes, a big sway bar, and a new dual exhaust system that sounds stock until you really stomp the loud pedal. A C4 3-speed automatic transmission and sturdy 8-inch rear end with 3.00 gears inside (at least according to the door tag) mean that it\'s equally happy in traffic or on the highway. The undercarriage is surprisingly tidy for a car in this price range and the lowered front end gives it just a bit of an attitude. Stock steel wheels with wire wheel covers are fitted with 215/70/14 white-letter radials that hint at the performance awaiting inside. A very neat old Ford with a lot of performance for not a lot of cash. If you\'re looking for fun on a budget that\'s not like everyone else\'s fun on a budget, then this Fairlane deserves a closer look. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom. It was initially basedon the platform of the second generation North American Ford Falcon, a compactcar. Introduced early on April 17, 1964, and thus dubbed as a "1964½"model by Mustang fans, the 1965 Mustang was the automaker's most successfullaunch since the Model A. In its firsteighteen months, more than one million Mustangs were built. Several changeswere made at the traditional opening of the new model year, including theaddition of back-up lights on some models, the introduction of alternators toreplace generators, and an upgrade of the V8 engine from 260ci to 289cidisplacement. In the case of at least some six-cylinder Mustangs the rush intoproduction included some unusual quirks, such as the horn ring bearing the'Ford Falcon' logo covered by a trim ring with a 'Ford Mustang' logo. Thesecharacteristics made enough difference to warrant designation of the 121,538earlier ones as "1964½" model-year Mustangs, a distinction that hasendured with purists.  VIN 5F07D210574 This beautiful D-codeMustang Coupe had had a frame-on restoration which was completed in 2004. Itwas restored to stock appearance with enhancements. This car has been inMichigan through the last two owners.  The owner’smanual, manual for the radio and a reproduction window sticker are included inthe sale.   Mechanics  Numbers Matching289ci Engine  C4 AutomaticTransmission  Ford 8” Open RearEnd with  Motorcraft Carb Factory StyleDistributor with Pertronix Working A/C  Manual Front andRear Drum Brakes  Stock Type MasterCylinder  Power Steering  Engine Dress UpKit Along Chrome Oil Pan  Chrome Shock TowerBrackets Original Generatorhad been Chromed Chrome ValveCovers AutoLite Battery  Exhaust Manifolds  New AluminizedDual Exhaust System Dynomax Mufflers B&M TrickShift Automatic Transmission Fluid PertronixElectronic Ignition with Ignition Coil and 7mm Ignition Wires 5 Blade CoolingFan with Radiator Shroud Heavy Duty GasShocks (Front) Load Levelers(Rear) GT FrontStabilizer Bar Replaced Bushings  Parking Brake Brake and FuelLines are in Great Shape  New Fuel Pump Replaced Gas Tankwith New Sending Unit  Body Original ColorPaint with Metallic Flake Added Chrome BumpersLook New  Halogen Headlights LED Front ParkingLights Stainless Trim isin Great Shape  Doors Fit andOperate Properly Door Lips andJambs are Clean and Solid Emblems areBeautiful  Solid and StraightQuarters CarLite Glass Carpeted TrunkDress-Up Kit Spare Tire LED Rear ReverseLights Sequential LEDRear Turning Indicators Rockers Show SpotWelds  Floorboards areSolid and Clean  Frame is in GreatShape  Wheel Wells are Solidand Clean  Mustang RallyWheels BF Goodrich RadialTires – 205/70/14 Front and Rear   Interior Original MatchingBlue Interior Bucket Seats Console with CupHolders Rally Pack withDigital Clock (6000 RPM) LED InstrumentPanel Lights All Gauges Work Grant SteeringWheel Wooden A/T ShifterHandle Day & NightRear View Mirror Old Air A/C System New SeatUpholstery Cruise Console Retrosound Radiowith Leads for iPod or USB Front and RearDual Voice Coil Speakers and Kick Panel Speakers  Additional SoundDeadening was Added  Don’t Miss Out! 1964 FORD FALCON “FUTURA” CONVERTIBLE “Curb-side Appeal” “ A true California classic Santa Barbara cruiser” Price: $22,500.00 This car is my 2nd Falcon Convertible that was purchased in Florida and was auto freight-transported to Santa Barbara in the summer of 2009. It was nearly fully restored personally by one of Santa Barbara’s top classic automobile restorers. Bob Seagoe is the owner of Superior Brake and Alignment and took personnel interest in rebuilding this particular Falcon for its present owner Patty. The car runs and performs wonderfully. It has been routinely serviced by Bob at Superior and and well cared for by me. BULLET POINTS - 1964 Falcon Futura! V8 HiPo "K" Code Hi performance 4 barrel Sprint engine Ford "Top loader" 4 speed transmission Dual type brake hydraulic system upgrade using Willows master cylinder Front disc brake conversion Power steering Recent maintenance includes: New starter motor, power steering rebuild, heater core There have been numerous other conversions in which we have retained the work invoices. These would be available to a serious buyer. The price that we paid for the Falcon in 2009 was $15,060.00 - in which we then spent an additional $9,000.00 in restoration enhancements. I feel that this is a very reasonable price for any type of “Falcon” or classic car enthusiast.

With a subtle color combination, an appealing black interior, and a strong V8 drivetrain, it's a hobby car you can enjoy without guilt. The idea of the small car isn't a new one, and even upscale Mercury was getting in on the act with the Comet. It offers styling cues taken from the full-sized machines sitting next to it in the showroom, but thanks to compact proportions, it was easy to drive and remarkably quick when equipped with a V8 engine. This one shows good straight bodywork thanks to a lifetime in the south, and while the color is subtle, this one gets all its attention simply by being unusual. Dramatically carved sheetmetal topped by tiny fins that were the '50s last gasp give it a lot of visual interest, and are actually helped by the subtle paint. Chrome and trim are quite good, and even on this budget classic Comet, there's quite a bit of it, including the big bumpers and ornate grille up front. The stainless strip running the length of the body and two trios of taillight lenses give the Comet a lot of visual pizzazz that make it look more expensive. The attractive black interior is another way in which the Comet looks like it should cost way more than it does. One look at the tasteful black vinyl with its square stitching instantly reminds you of the other more expensive cars in the Mercury lineup, and that's completely on purpose. Matching door panels are remarkably stylish for a basic car, with about only the armrest showing age after nearly 50 years of elbows resting on it. The instrument panel is a handsome and functional design that includes wood appliques for warmth and to match the woodgrained steering wheel. The 3-speed manual transmission with column shift makes the Caliente feel quick around town and feels more involving for the driver. Tidy carpets, a taut headliner, and an accessory AM/FM radio under the dash, it certainly doesn't feel like Mercury's lowest-priced car that year. Even the trunk is nicely finished and comes complete with a full-sized spare and jack assembly. Ford's trusty 302 cubic inch V8 fits neatly with the Comet's economy-based mission. It's a 1968 engine, but thanks to the interchangeability of the small block engines, it slots right in without modifications. It transforms the lightweight Mercury and you'll recall that the 1965 Mustang was based on this same platform. Ford Blue on the engine itself makes the machinery stand out against the satin black engine bay, and while it's not yet detailed for show, it does have a factory look that helps it blend with the engine bay. It starts easily and has a bit of a muscular voice thanks to a brand new exhaust system. With highway-friendly gears out back, the stout V8 pulls the car around with aplomb and might even make it a bit of a sleeper. Original steel wheels with hubcaps and 195/75/14 whitewall radials certainly help with that impression. Unusual yet eminently practical for today's times, this Comet is a great entry-level hobby car that won't cost you much now or down the road. Call Tom 7 Days a Week at 248-974-9513! [email protected] History The first-generation Ford Mustang was manufactured by the Ford Motor Company from 1964 until 1973. The introduction of the Mustang created a new class of automobile known as the pony car. The Mustang's styling, with its long hood and short deck, proved wildly popular and inspired a host of imitators. It was initially introduced as a hardtop and convertible with the fastback version put on sale the following year. At the time of its introduction, the Mustang, sharing its underpinnings with the Falcon, was slotted into a compact car segment. The 1970 model year Mustangs were restyled to be less aggressive and therefore returned to single headlamps which were moved to the inside of the grille opening with 'fins' on the outside of the grille sides. The rear fender air scoops were removed and the tailight panel was now flat instead of concave as seen in 1969. The interior options remained mostly unchanged.
