1965 Chevy Impala Super Sport Matching Numbers. V.I.N. 16637Fxxxxx3, Engine F0706GF, Trans. C0701D, Axle DB701C, Trim 815, 06D (4th week of June), Protect-O Plate, Dealer Stamp and Original owner's manual. The car is code RR Regal Red with a 815 Black interior. Drive train is a 283/powerglide. Power steering, single circuit manual drum brakes, heater, wipers and after market AM/FM radio. All equipment works nicely. All glass is very good to excellent condition. Chrome is good to excellent. Trim "callouts" are good originals. The paint is very good to excellent. A little orange peel here and there. The paint is representative of a car from the era. Shiny but not mirror. I'm not a paint expert but believe you could sand it out if you wanted to. The engine has some "day 2" upgrades. A weiland intake, Carter carburetor and open air element were added. The previous owner installed glass packs but I have installed a nice set of flowmasters recently. The wheels retain their 14 inch size but are American Racing with Firestone Firehawk tires. The interior is original and beautiful. The engine bay was cleaned and painted and includes a repro. radiator tag and "Opti-Clean" bottle for shows. The previous owner left the trunk in "as is" condition. The rest of the car was just too nice to have an old trunk. I installed a new floor pan and cleaned the rest. Where there was factory spatter paint I kept it for originality. I also installed a new fuel tank, sending unit, straps, anti squeak, shocks and brakes. To the best of my ability, I left as much original on the car as there was. The car runs great. Starts instantly when cold and drives, steers and stops as a mid 60's car should. This is a very comfortable ride. This is my first Impala but won't be my last. I really like the fast back look. I have several other cars. Two of which are also numbers matching. One is Totally original. Need to make some room. I enjoy the the original/numbers cars a lot. I think whoever gets this one is going to enjoy it too. I'm always improving my cars and am looking for a correct jack for this one as well as a spare. When you pick it up maybe I'll have these items as well. I would like to emphasize I am a car guy not a dealer. I like to buy them, drive them, fix them and unfortunately due to space and money have to sell one occasionally to keep the addiction fed. As mentioned earlier in the ad, all the documentation is in the photo section of the ad. These documents and imprints go to the new owner and are available for inspection. 1965 Chevrolet Impala Super Sport. Cowl tag shows its a true SUPER SPORT with an 8 cylinder engine, Madeira Maroon and black vinyl interior. It was professionally color changed to Black at some point. Factory air conditioning equipped. 283 - 2 bbl with Powerglide. Complete. This SS has had the same owner for the past 42 years. I have the 1973 Florida title in hand. I will also include a folder full of paperwork, maintenance receipts and fuel logs for it. I have not attempted to crank the engine over. It seems to have been sitting (inside) for some time. It has the original console with clock and many additional NOS parts. All trim comes with the car. I have 5 SS hubcaps. Bumpers and grille are near perfect. All 4 tires are new with the stickers still attached.  All glass is in tact and in excellent shape. The interior is in great shape as well. Original buckets with the trim are in nice shape but could use a good cleaning. Original A/C dash and controls are excellent. Original steering wheel is good. Floors are really solid, including the trunk area. Rockers and quarters are good. The roof is good. Deck lid is solid and so are the doors. Car does need a hood. It has rust around both the front and rear windshields. Apparently all 65's had metal windshield clips that were installed unpainted from the factory, which caused them to rust. The trunk gutter is rusty and will need repair. There was damage done to the original passenger door as well as the quarter, right at the door jamb. There is a replacement passenger door on the car and it opens and shuts perfectly, same with the other door, hood and deck lid.  Everything should be pictured, but I have over 100 photos of the car that I can send upon request. I have an extra driver's side bucket seat, factory dash a/c unit (controls with duct and blower motor), SS console, passenger quarter extension, tail lights, V8 flags, 327 emblems and various other emblems, trim pieces and parts that I can include for an agreed upon price. The VIN stamping IS on the front engine pad and it does match to the VIN number. This car was originally from Minnesota and it shows, a great restoration candidate. Pretty much all the sheetmetal will need to be replaced/thoroughly patched. The frame IS rotted through in a couple small spots and has already been repaired on the front passenger side (where they all rot out). The floors will also need to be replaced and also portions of the trunk. The doors shut pretty well. On the bright side, the original engine runs VERY well. It can be used as a daily driver with a little elbow grease as long as you don't mind the condition of the body/interior and undercarriage, it really does run well and always fires up with the turn of the key. It has a new flowmaster exhaust system and it sounds great. It has like new US Royal Bias Ply Redline tires. All of the power windows work with the exception of the passegner rear, which is evident in photos. The power top also works but does need a hand when going up. The factory tachometer is still in tact. The clutch feels good and does not chatter. The AC is hooked up however it does not blow cold. It has power steering which works great. This is a wonderful project for someone looking for a rare car with excellent equipment. I do have a clear Florida title. Please check all the photos out, there are almost 100. transmission with 99K miles. This car was ordered very well with Factory Air, Tinted Glass, Power Windows, Rear Antenna, Rear Speaker, Padded Dash, and of course the Air Conditioning, Muncie 4-speed and the BIG 396/325hp engine. The VIN stamping IS on the front engine pad and it does match to the VIN number. This car was originally from Minnesota and it shows, a great restoration candidate. Pretty much all the sheetmetal will need to be replaced/thoroughly patched. The frame IS rotted through in a couple small spots and has already been repaired on the front passenger side (where they all rot out). The floors will also need to be replaced and also portions of the trunk. The doors shut pretty well. On the bright side, the original engine runs VERY well. It can be used as a daily driver with a little elbow grease as long as you don't mind the condition of the body/interior and undercarriage, it really does run well and always fires up with the turn of the key. It has a new flowmaster exhaust system and it sounds great. It has like new US Royal Bias Ply Redline tires. All of the power windows work with the exception of the passegner rear, which is evident in photos. The power top also works but does need a hand when going up. The factory tachometer is still in tact. The clutch feels good and does not chatter. The AC is hooked up however it does not blow cold. It has power steering which works great. Here is my 1964 Impala SS that I have been working on here and there for the last 3 years or so. I initially picked the car up from a retired fire fighter in Chicago area who was ill and could no longer enjoy the car. After getting it home I drove her once and began removing all the fenders, doors and trunk lid and suspension. Every nut and bolt has been replaced with new, along with all of the body bushings. The belly of the car (inside & out) and frame have been coated with POR-15, and then recoated with a gloss coating. The body is painted medium aqua metallic and the top is a Cadillac pearl white tri coat. The front grill has been hand polished, and the eyebrows, hood lip and lower molding has been replaced with new. The rear trim is original, besides the cove trims I replaced due to them being dinged. Headlight rings have been polished, rear tail light chrome replaced. Bumpers are original and in nice shape.Suspension: All of the suspension is either chrome or painted. the front upper and lower control arms are triple plated, along with the front coil springs, tie rods, spindles steering knuckles, rear trailing arms, center link & idler and pitman arms. All of the bushings are new energy suspension bushings.. Steering has been upgraded to a solid jeep shaft to eliminate the use of the old non responsive rag joints, and is hooked to a CPP 500 steering box with a sport ratio.Interior: I replaced the front seat covers and foam a few months ago. The rear seat is original, but in good condition. The entire tub of the car has been coated in por-15 and then sealed with Fatmat sound deadening material all the way up to the door glass. All of the interior trim has been polished and looks great. All (5) of the interior lights work as they should. Custom kick panels and door panels that house (6) Pioneer 3 way speakers. The rear package tray has been recovered and houses (4) Pioneer 6x9 3 ways that match the door and kick panel components. Rear water fall trim has had the grain smoothed out and chromed, along with the center speaker trim in the seat. The interior is very nice, please see the pictures and video. The speedo cluster has been swapped to a Dakota Digital, and the column is a chrome tilt that was moved forward 2 inches for extra room. The stock ones always felt too close to me. Trunk is custom and houses (2) 12" Rockford subwoofers and a Rockford amp setup under plexiglass with L.E.D's. American Auto wire update kit is installed, every wire in the car is brand new and replaced.Drivetrain: I replaced the sbc motor with a ls motor equipped with Vette heads, cam and intake. Chrome headers with o2 bungs, all new coils, plug wires, black an6 fuel line etc. Transmission is a 4l65e with shiftworks shifter linkage hooked to the original shifter. Front belt system is from Dirty Dingo, and water pump, gaskets, Melling oil pump are all new. Drive shaft has the CPP HD aluminum carrier bearing, with slip yoke at the rear end. Rear end is a Versailles with all new gaskets. Car is equipped with 4 wheel disc brakes attached to a hydroboost system out of an 05 Silverado 2500. CPP show chrome master with built in proportioning valve, all new brake lines etc. Engine harness and computer is from PSIconversions out of NJ. Pedal and tac module are hidden behind the dash. Engine bay wires have been tucked for the clean low visibility look. New gas tank, Walbro fuel pump and 60 psi Vette filter/regulator. New 2.5" dual exhaust installed less than a week ago from the headers back, Flowmaster 40 series mufflers. Up for sale is a 1965 Chevy Impala SS the car is for sale llocally as well. It has 22 inch wheels and barely driven on tires..also a rebuilt 350 small block engine with a slight idle cam in it. The engine also has headers & 40 series flowmaster mufflers with 18"stainless steel tips. The seats have been done as well. The car has some minor rust on the driver & passenger side which is an easy fix..there is a dent on the driver side rear corner. The car needs a master cylinder & booster and a center drag link. The frame was then stripped and the factory wields were strengthened before repaint with High Gloss paint. Finsihed in metaliac orange with two tone tan with orange piping this SS has had a complete restoration with plenty of modifications. This car started life as a carmine white V8 SS built in tarrytown NY and was ultimatley transformed into the car pictured. The entore car was stripped and any areas were addressed before the new metalliac orange paint was layed on it. The originl interior was removed and custom done with the matching orange piping around the doors and seats. The AC controls were moved into the glove bok and a custom am/fm/cd player was installed. A suspension control unit was fitted under the dash that operate the rear air bags as well as power to the compressor. A new convertible top was installed and the trunk was custom fitted with the same color panles that match the interior and hide the hydrolic pumps and tank that operate the rear air suspension. The original engine was removed and replaced with a late model based on the engine stamp numbers. The engine was updated with all new edlebrock carb, valve covers, air cleaner, intake manifold, braided chrome lines, compressor, radiator and more. The original trnsmission was rebuilt and a new flowmaster dual exhaust was installed making this car run and sound great! Retro chrome wheels and BFG's were also added as well as a front disc brake conversion. This is a really sharp car that looks, runs and drives great!
