This GTX received a complete restoration in 2010 and has only been driven about 6,000 miles since and housed in a climate controlled garage. Coming out of the St. Louis plant, this is a factory 440 CI 4-speed car with \"Fresh Air Hood\" more commonly known as the Air Grabber! The Air Grabber was a vacuum operated hood scoop which could be opened and closed with a switch under the dash. In this case the Air Grabber is complete and fully functional. This car features its original 440 CID V8 which has been nicely upgraded to a Six-Pack set up. The Six-Pack is by far the most desirable setup for the 440; it features 3 2 barrel carburetors. This set up bumped the 440 from 375 HP to a healthy 390 HP. This particular example also features its original 4 speed manual transmission which makes this thing a blast to drive. Putting the power to the ground is an 8 3/4 rear end with Track Pak 3.54 gears. The car is finished in its correct FJ6 Sassy Grass Green with Longitudinal black stripes. With 440 graphics, period correct white letter tires, and hood pins, this car certainly screams 1970s muscle car. This is also a very well documented car and comes with the original broadcast sheet and fender tag. The interior is black vinyl with optional bucket seats. Up for consideration is a 1970 Plymouth GTX with an RS23VO vin. This car is 1 of 328 in 1970. This is a factory 440 engine car with a six barrel and the original air grabber hood. This original 440 was changed out at some point so in it place is a muscle motors 440 stroked to a 505 with a comp cams E274H producing 440hp. The transmission is the original 727 with a TransGo stage 2 shift kit. The rear end is the original 8-3/4 suregrip with 3.55 gears. This beauty sports a mark 7 radiator, flow kooler water pump and dual electric fans and controller. Headers are TTI 1-7/8 ceramic and a TTI 3" X-pipe Exhaust system with the 50 series flow masters. The frame has been beefed up with frame connectors, torque boxes, front shock tower brace, and a lower core support brace. The K member and lower control arms have also been reinforced. The suspension has been upgraded with Firm Feel Inc upper control arms, torsion bars, front and rear anti sway bars and steering box. It also has new rear springs and all new bushings. The wiring harness is by Painless with led bulbs, 3rd brake light, and the headlights are on a relay. The custom interior is a Marquarts Custom Creation with Autometer gauges and a custom dash. A/C is Classic Auto Air. The paint is a custom Auto Air color. We refer to it as Pink Pizzazzzz. This Gtx has had a very complete restoration that was completed about a year ago. Well needless to say he asked me to hold the car for him, but he was not able to get the $$. So please make sure you have all your finances together before you bid. Thank you.. This is a REAL 1970 Plymouth GTX 440 6bbl V code Car, which was born on December 3, 1969. It is documented by Galeen Glover and is in the Chrysler registry. It is a factory equipped Hemi – box 4 speed transmission with a factory pistol grip Hurst shifter backed with a Dana 60 rear end with 3:54 gears. This car has spent its entire life in NJ delivered to Elm Auto sales in Kearney NJ. I purchased the car a few years back from a friend who purchased it from the second owner who was ill and had it sitting in his garage for almost 20years! This explains why the car was basically a rust free car most likely from sitting in a garage for 20 years. It has not seen rain or winter for over 35 years!! When I purchased the car from my friend, he had finished restoring the car in 2003. Since 2003 till 2011 he only drove the car to car shows, about 250 miles in 8 years. Somewhere in it’s life it was painted B5 blue. After I purchased the car I decided that the car was to valuable to not restore it back to its original color, Burnt tan metallic. Burnt tan metallic is one of, if not the rarest color of all. From the research that was done on the car, I was told it was one of one on how it was equipped: 440 6bbl, 4 speed, burnt tan metallic, black vinyl top with bucket seats. During the restoration I sent the engine out to Raz Performance in Vineland NJ. I told Ray that I would like him to go through the engine and make it as if you walked into the showroom back in 1970 to purchase this car except give it a little hotter cam!! When he was done with all the work including balancing and blueprinting it, it dynoed out at 487hp and 525 torque. The engine although not original, is a date correct engine . The intake, alternator, exhaust manifolds (which were jet hot coated so they always look brand new). The Hemi 4 speed was gone through completely, and shifts like a dream. All the exterior trim is original to the car which I sent out to have it restored to new condition. I have the original build sheet and letter from Galen for the car as well. The original radio was restored back to factory specifications but with one addition, I had a auxiliary jack installed on the back where you can plug your iPod in or audio device in (one of the pictures of the glove box shows the iPod cable). I have more detailed pictures of the door jambs as well as interior, engine compartment and underside that I was unable to add. Not sure how to include them in the description.. I can email to any one who would like to see them.. I also have a video of the car running.. I have spent countless hours and $$$ restoring this GTX as you can tell by the pictures. It is for sale since the location that the car is stored is unable to keep cars there and the next closest "safe" place I could find is 30-45 minutes away from me. I have spent over 3 years bringing the car back to showroom condition, even though the purist would say the car never looked this good when it was new. The car runs and drives like it did on day one, only better. I am offering for sale, my 1971 GTX. I purchased this car from its second owner in Jacksonville FL in March 2010. He purchased it from the original owner who was a lady school teacher from Coleman FL in October 1973. Apparently, her boyfriend invited her on a date to attend the Daytona 500 on February 14, 1971. She was so impressed with the race winner, Richard Petty #43, she went to her local Chrysler dealership and purchased this 71 GTX that was displayed in the showroom. The second owner was also a Richard Petty fan so after purchasing the car, he had the GTX painted Petty Blue and Ziebartd. After several years he decided to repaint it the original High Impact GY3 Curious Yellow. This car won numerous awards at car shows throughout Florida including a Year One 1st Prize Trophy at Daytona Motor Speedway in 1994. This GTX was the second owners baby until 2010. Since 2010, this highly optioned head turner has been part of my personal GTX collection. In 2013, the following new parts were installed - complete Mopar rocker arm assemblies- horn relay- engine mounts- engine belts- high torque starter- voltage regulator- electronic ignition module- spark plugs and wires- upper ball joints- 2.5in TTI exhaust system, OEM exhaust tips- AC expansion valve and dryer- 2 Good Year Eagle GTII tires- 4 new brushed aluminum trim rings This car is rust free and reportedly has all the original sheet metal.
