This 71 charger is a 383, auto car. It's complete with only surface rust and some minor dents except for the lower rear quarters. Someone tried to do a bondo job on it (see picture). The car runs and drives. The car is a fairly odd combination; a big block with a 8.25 rear end with highway gears, drum brakes all around (front discs were standard equipment beginning 71), and the butterscotch color. The car is in Cedar City, UT and the buyer is responsible for pick-up. No low-ballers or tire-kickers please.

Fully documented by Galen Govier, at 18,369 miles on the odometer there may not be a lower mileage, unmolested original Charger R/T 440 Six Pack available. Extremely rare and highly sought after, this is only 1 of 80 cars ever made! Only 178 Charger R/T 440 Six Packs were produced. 80 of them were 4-speed cars, which this is. The Govier inspection was quoted "A near perfect original 1971 Charger R/T with only a few maintenance items replaced". Numbers matching means all seven (7) VIN's on this vehicle where found and documented. The original broadcast sheet, brochures, certificate of title, invoice and Bill of Sale all come with this car. Additionally, rare Mopar PR shots from "Dodge News Photo" are included. It doesn't come optioned any better. 1971 may have been the first year of the 3rd generation Charger, but it was also the last year for the 390hp 440 Six-Pack. The 4-speed was equipped with the HURST Pistol Grip Shifter. The Dana 60 3:54 Sure Grip differential with the factory (A33) Trak-Pak kit made this the quickest Mopar off the line. Faster than the HEMI. Equipped with extra-heavy duty suspension and brakes. The exhaust is the true dual N41 exhaust. Factory 15" W21 rims with the original raised white letter Polyglas GT tires in perfect condition make the muscle car more rare. Taking it over the top, the owner has included two (2) original Polyglas snow tires that were ordered when the car was delivered new. Purest will know how rare and valuable this is. The interior trim (D6XA) is equipped with charcoal buckets, headliner, a black dash pad and carpeting. Rallye instruments, 3-spoke woodgrain wheel, AM/FM Stereo with the optioned tach/console/8-Track. The Govier interior rating was a #1 (perfect). The light gunmetal metallic exterior is documented "Excellent/Original". The paint is complemented with the (V1X) black vinyl top and the V21 hood performance treatment (black paint on hood bulge with R/T designation). The body side black stripe begins at the hood and includes the upper body stripe to end the qtr. The Govier exterior rating was a #1 (perfect). The only bodywork identified was on the passenger front corner of the hood. Otherwise, the remainder of the Charger R/T is untouched. On Tuesday January 5, 1971, this Mopar was #15 of 34 in sequence as it rolled off the line at the Lynch Road, MI assembly plant and was sold through Woodstock Garage Chrysler-Plymouth (Woodstock, Virginia) for only $3,750. This was the introduction of the third generation Charger that had its wheelbase decreased 2" to 115 and came in six different Charger models. The Charger R/T hardtop was at the top. In 1971, sales of the Charger R/T declined in part to higher insurance costs, making it even more valuable. Mopar collectors know that his car has been trending up in value since September 2013 and finally has surpassed values that peaked in January 2008. It is now the perfect opportunity to own an incredible unrestored, low mileage Charger R/T Six-Pack. Examples like this are becoming more difficult to find. I am relisting this beautiful '71 Super Bee with a Buy-it-Now, Make-an-Offer format. In the previous listing, there were 4,122 hits and 144 people watching the auction. That is a very good indication that the interest is there and Mopars are coming back as a muscle car favorite as well as a great investment. The reserve was nearly met in the previous listing so I am in hopes that someone who wants a beautiful muscle car, will pull the trigger and purchase this 4-speed classic. To start with, let me first say that I am listing this ’71 Dodge Charger Super Bee for a well-known classic and muscle car dealership and in doing so, I will be acting as an agent for this dealership. The owner, who is a friend and someone that I have known for over 20 years, founded his dealership in 1996 and has been a veteran of the car business for over 30 years. All of his vehicles are chosen for the highest standards and quality. A careful and complete analysis is done on every one before they offered for sale. I do understand that there is a lot of information in my ad. I also understand that this may be boring to the person who is just looking and not buying. However, for the person who is looking to buy and spend their hard earned money, I feel that there is never too much information. As to myself, I am not a dealer, just a (65) year old kid that loves muscle cars. For my work, I am retired from managing a Correctional Facility here in Maine and had worked for the Maine Department of Corrections for (40) years. I am also a respected member of my community. I mention this only because of the value of this car and so that prospective buyers will have some idea as to who they are dealing with. Also, please check out my eBay feedback which is 100% with (1,139) transactions. Many of those have been muscle cars which I have sold to individuals all over the country as well as Canada, England, France, Switzerland and Australia. INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS ARE WELCOME WITH A DOWN PAYMENT VIA PAYPAL AND THE BALANCE VIA WIRE TRANSFER ONLY. Just some quick history on the Super Bee. GM divisions had been doing it for years, but it wasn't until 1968 that the two MOPAR divisions, Dodge and Plymouth, began to engage in a bit of sibling rivalry. The result was the Dodge Super Bee, a direct competitor to Plymouth's Road Runner. Although a capable budget muscle car, it never was as successful as the Road Runner, which truly must have hurt. Dodge watched as Plymouth launched their budget muscle car, the Road Runner, in the fall of 1967 as a 1968 model. Already upset that Dodge had coined the "road runner" name in a 1967 Coronet ad, Dodge responded by launching its own budget muscle car. Based on the redesigned Dodge Coronet pillared coupe, Dodge looked to its Scat Pack symbol and released its new model in the spring of 1968 as the Super Bee. The $3,027 base price was $131 more than the Road Runner, which used the same basic chassis. Curb weight was nearly identical, and both used the same engines, so performance was almost identical. The standard engine was the 335 bhp four barrel 383 cid V8 that borrowed cylinder heads, camshaft and induction system from the Magnum 440. The 426 Hemi was the only engine option, but at nearly $1,000 more, it clashed with the budget nature of the Super Bee and only 125 were ordered. The low price meant minimizing amenities, and although the Super Bee borrowed the Rallye gauge package from the Charger to edge out the Road Runner, a tachometer was still a $38 extra. A heavy duty suspension, brakes, four-speed manual transmission with Hurst Competition Plus shifter, and red-line wide oval tires were standard. The low price didn't mean low profile, and the Super Bee had bumble bee racing stripes circling the tail, and a big Super Bee emblem hovering on the rear fenders. The grille was finished in black matte and the hood had a decorative power bulge. The wheel lips and the rear body panel were accented with thin bright moldings. Inside, the Super Bee had door-to-door carpeting, pleated vinyl seats and door panels, and a standard bench seat. The big news for MOPAR muscle car fans in 1969 was a new optional engine in several cars, including the Super Bee. MOPAR engineers took the existing 440 cid V8 and replaced the single Carter four barrel carb with three Holley two-barrel carbs on an Edelbrock Hi-Riser manifold, creating the Dodge 440 Six Pack (Plymouth called it the 440+6). Only the center carb was used for normal driving, but slamming on the fun pedal opened all six carbs for a combined 1,375 cfm rush. Hemi valve springs, a hotter cam, magnafluxed connecting rods, and other improvements helped boost output to 390 bhp. A Hurst four speed manual transmission was standard. Torqueflite automatic was optional, but disc brakes, air conditioning, and cruise control were not allowed. The Super Bee Six Pack came with one of the wilder hoods in muscledoom. The lift off hood was made of fiberglass, had a matte black finish, four NASCAR tie down pins, and a large air scoop molded right in with Six Pack written on the sides. The all business look was completed with standard black steel wheels, unadorned except for chrome lug nuts. The 440 Six Pack was a $463 option in 1969, and 1,907 were produced. The Six Pack could keep up with a Hemi up to 70 mph and came with a Hemi grade suspension that turned the Super Bee into a decent handler. The aging Coronet's body style was given a face lift for 1970. The front fenders were sloped down more at the ends, and the hood featured a NASA inspired integrated hood scoop on the standard set up that flowed down into a center peak separating a twin front bumper arrangement. A Super Bee medallion was used between the grilles on the hood. The Ram-Charger hood with its twin hood scoops were carried over to the new hood as an option. The cards of marketing were reshuffled for 1971. The Coronet name it felt was too closely tied with the image of grocery getters and mom and dad. Thus all four-door mid-sized Dodges would be known as Coronets, while all two-door intermediate Dodge models would be known as Chargers. The Charger would be restyle to meet these demands with long flowing lines that took some of the race car look away from it. The reshuffle of nameplates also brought the seeming death to the Coronet R/T and the Super Bee. However, it was only half right. The R/T was never a true contender on the marketing field, so it was killed while the Super Bee was given one more year to prove itself. Be the fates of soaring insurance rates and government regulations only place the Super Bee on life support, as this would be its last year of production. In 1971 the Dodge Superbee took on a whole new body style and for the first time Dodge used a Charger body instead of the Coronet… It was to be the only year that Dodge used the Charger body with the Superbee name plate on it…What I have here is one of 2889 383 4bbl 2 door hard-top’s…. A total of 4144 Dodge Charger Superbee’s were made in 1971, compared to 13046 Plymouth Road Runner’s… Also there were 10614 hardtop and 3640 coupe’s for a total of 14254 Superbee’s in 1970... So I think it is safe to say the 1971 Superbee is a rare model… What I have here is a 1971 Dodge Charger Superbee… It was a very low optioned model, with an am radio, bucket seats, center console, and rear window defoger…So I decided to restore the car the way I would have ordered it with the original drive train (matching numbers)…We started with the original color of the exterior and interior…Plum crazy exterior and a white interior an excellent color combo….We did change the striping color to white reflective and it look outstanding… In 1971 the only color of stripping you could get on a Charger was matte black… I personally like the way the white looks better…Next we rebuilt the original engine … We went 30 over on the pistons, the heads were rebuilt with new valve and springs and guides, ported and polished…we installed a hemi grind cam and a new Holley carburetor…The transmission was totally rebuilt and we added a 355 rear end… The original rear end was a 323 and I still have it…The interior came with the round standard cluster so I changed to a Ralley cluster and added the tachometer… We added an am--fm radio…and a tuff steering wheel, pedal dress-up and an inside hood release…The exterior also had some changes…We added concealed headlamps, chrome outside racing mirrors (both left and right),Ralley wheels 15x7 front and 15x8 rear all mounted on radial t/a’s…On the hood we installed new hood pins and a Ramcharger air grabber …I installed a new Accurate exhaust system…2.5”from the manifolds to the max wedge mufflers and 2.25” tail pipes from the mufflers to the chrome exhaust tips…This is one of the most beautiful 1971 Dodge Charger Superbee’s on the road … Everything on this car is new or rebuilt … The colors, the sound, the whole package is just AWESOME!!!If you have any questions please call 517-505-0894....Buyer is to pay for shipping and all fees... There is no warranty, sold as is....

The 1968-1970 models are appreciating by the moment, it seems, but the more expensive they get, the more this 1971 Dodge Charger SE looks like a smart buy. With a burly 440, a 4-speed gearbox, and a sleek, unadorned look, this Charger deserves to be part of the legend. Perhaps the most obvious sign that the tide is changing on these cars is the quality of the restoration on this beautiful matching-numbers SE. It's been refinished pretty much the way it came from the factory using the original GA4 Gunmetal Gray paint and we have to agree with the choice. It just looks brutal. Experts will note it should have black stripes, but they were omitted to give the car a cleaner, sleeker look and it works rather well on Chrysler's updated fuselage styling. You can see Charger DNA running through this car's veins in the hidden headlights and chrome bumper surround, and that long, long hood was designed to hold the biggest engines in the Chrysler arsenal. The finish is quite good with two-stage paint giving it a deep, rich shine and panel gaps are excellent all around, a detail that's critical on these later Chargers. A single pinstripe highlights the curving fender lines and while it was originally ordered with a vinyl "canopy" top, they restored it with an ultra-sleek look instead. The black interior was equally well restored, with beautiful vinyl and cloth seat covers on the original seats. It's kind of unusual to see a bench seat in a Charger, especially one with a 4-speed, but that's another detail that makes this car special. New carpets and door panels give it a factory fresh look and new wood appliques on the dash and steering wheel add some contrast to all the black. Original Rallye gauges offer a fairly complete view of the engine and the markings are still bright and crisp. The factory-issued AM radio is still fully functional and in the trunk you'll find a new dash pad and heater core, just in case you want to upgrade it in the future. The back seat offers almost a bucket seat type setup and the trunk is outfitted with a correct mat, spare tire, and jack assembly. The engine is the car's original, numbers-matching 440 cubic inch V8, and before you think this is some smog-choked motor, guess again, because 1971 was still responsible for some of the most potent hardware of the era. The engine bay is tidy but not detailed for show, but it's also quite stock, with a factory air cleaner up top, Hemi Orange paint on the engine itself, and even cast iron exhaust manifolds with their heat risers intact. It starts easily and makes the kind of effortless big block torque that makes the Charger a blast to drive, particularly with a 4-speed manual transmission and acceleration-happy 4.10 gears in the Dana 60 out back. The undercarriage is pretty original but when it's in good condition, there's no need to take it apart. The dual exhaust system uses glasspack-style mufflers for an incredible big block sound and there are new shocks all around plus fresh front-end components. The industrial-strength look is completed by a set of steel wheels with dog dish hubcaps and F70-15 Goodyear Polyglas tires, as original. This is an incredibly rare car with a great look and huge performance and it's only a matter of time before these later Chargers take their place with the other great Mopar muscle cars. As far as I know this vehicle has remained in the Northwest (specifically Oregon, Washington, Idaho) its whole life. It sat garaged for approximately 15 years before I purchased it, and I have kept it garaged as well with no winter driving. There is very little rust or body damage and most of the original undercoating is still intact. The original 318 motor runs well, but has an occasional lifter tick after a cold start or after extended highway driving. Read this listing carefully, view all 24 pictures, and feel free to ask questions. The original engine and drive train had approximately 126,000 miles on it when I purchased the vehicle 5 years ago. I have added approximately 13,000 miles since then. Before I purchased the car the rear shocks and leaf springs were replaced sometime in the late 70's/early '80s (air shocks + adjustable shackles), the factory steel wheels were replaced with cast steel wheels by Appliance around the same time, and true dual exhaust was installed sometime in the mid '90s. The tires that are on the car right now were on it when I bought it, so they are at minimum 20 years old, probably older.I have a binder of receipts for major parts/labor (excluding routine maintenance) going back to early 2011 that will be included, but below is a quick summary:The original Carter 2bbl carburetor was replaced with a remanufactured Carter 2bbl (original will be included)The points/condenser style distributor was replaced with a remanufactured electronic ignition setup The original water pump and radiator were replaced (originals will be included)The original Torqueflite A904 transmission was replaced with a Torqueflite A904 built by TCI (original will be included)The 8 ¼” rear axle was professionally rebuilt with a new Mopar Suregrip carrier and new stock spec. 2.73 ring and pinion gearsThe original fuel tank and fuel tank sending unit were replacedThe original brake shoes and springs were replaced and the drums were cleaned and rotatedRust:Middle of driver's side floor pan is rusted and that whole side will need to be replaced; right now there is sheet metal fastened over the pan as a temporary fixSmall rusted through area on each rear quarter panel where the wheel well beginsSmall rusted through area on the driver’s side inner fender beneath the battery trayLight surface rust on the trunk pan and on the inside of the rear quarters in the trunkExterior Condition:PROSStraight body and frameAll original body panels including hard top roofIntact glass, bumpers, trim, lights, and badgesIntact factory undercoatingRelatively minor body rustCONSPassenger's side hood hinge is out of adjustmentDriver's side lower front valance is dented on side of parking light; bumper directly above is slightly bent Driver's side headlight trim is crackedDriver's and passenger's side tail light trim is badly crackedPassenger's side rear wheel arch has a couple small dings above it; largest one is about the size of a thumbprintInterior Condition:PROSAll of original interior present minus wiper switch knob Original headliner intact with no tears or sagging Original gauges/heater/wipers/interior lights are functionalRear floor pan, front passenger's side floor pan are solidCONSDash pad is cracked on both driver's and passenger's side in multiple placesTop of rear seat has large tearPassenger's side front seat has large tear on bottom, driver's side front seat has large tear on outer top cornerOriginal AM radio not installed (but will be included)In summary, you are looking at a solid, original, running and driving 1971 Dodge Charger. I have the serial number and fender tag decoded, clear documentation of major parts/labor for my period of ownership, a clean title, and all the original parts I removed. It's not easy to find a base model Charger of this vintage that isn't rusted out or parted out. Many possibilities lie ahead for this car, and I sincerely hope that the new owner will appreciate it and enjoy it as much as I have no matter what direction he or she decides to take it in. If you are serious about making me a reasonable offer, I will be happy to send you more pictures or speak with you on the phone. Thanks, MattThis should be common sense, but I will say it anyway: THERE IS NO WARRANTY OF ANY KIND EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED. I have made a good-faith effort to describe this vehicle and its flaws, but my description should not be considered comprehensive or 100% accurate. You are buying a well-used, mostly original vehicle that is over 40 years old and in far-from-perfect condition, so set your expectations accordingly.

For Sale 1971 Dodge Charger. This car is from Tennessee and front and rear frame rails are solid, floors and trunk are solid,Car has a new headliner and new carpet installed and also has a new gas tank and sending unit. IT NEEDS: seats recovered, (rear seat is good) new window weather stripping, passenger seat needs to be bolted in,new paint, front alignment, carb rebuild, Engine starts and seems to run good although the automatic choke isn't hooked up. Transmission shifts good but I only drove it around the block a few times and didn't take it out on the highway because it needs a front alignment and didn't want to mess up the new front tires. The previous owner replaced some front steering and suspension parts so the alignment is off. Front drivers side fender has a dent that someone pounded out, passenger door and rear passenger quarter panel have dents in them. Car has rust in fenders.... rear quarters and other areas as seen in the pictures. You should view the car in person before bidding. SOLD AS IS NO WARRANTY.

Build sheets, MSO, Owner Card, and the original invoice are all part of the package, and that's in addition to one heck of a nice numbers-matching big block 'Bee. All-new fuselage styling made the 1971 Super Bee one of the sleekest cars of the early '70s, and you could still stuff a big block under the hood. The recipe remained the same: big performance, small price, but with the all-new car, you got big gains in handling, braking, and comfort, too. Given that this is a relatively desirable car with docs and a matching-numbers drivetrain, they obviously spent big on the bodywork, exactly duplicating the factory B5 Blue, which was one of the all-time great colors on Mopars of the era. The blacked-out hood treatment with Super Bee logo and the interesting hood inserts with '383 Magnum' callouts certainly give it the aggressive look you'd expect and it's all extremely well done. Out back, the virtually unobtainable taillight panel is finished in correct argent silver with gorgeous taillight lenses that are almost too nice to be believed. A black vinyl roof gives it a sleek look, too, tying in neatly with both the blacked-out hood and the stripes running the length of the swoopy body. Quite interestingly, this 'Bee carries a blue bench seat interior, which is exactly how it was ordered. It also carries factory A/C, but little else in the way of options. On the one hand, it was obviously built to be a street fighter, but perhaps someplace really hot, and the structure bears out the idea that it came from a dry climate. At any rate, the all-new interior looks fantastic, with correct patterns and materials used throughout to create a factory-fresh feel. Basic gauges and a column shifter mean that you can focus on the road more easily, and there's a bit of faux wood, presumably simply for fashion's sake. The original Music Master AM radio still lives in the dash, complete with its unusual knob configuration that makes replacements problematic. New carpets are protected by matching floor mats, and the trunk is expertly finished for show with a correct mat, full-sized spare, and a full jack assembly. The numbers-matching 383 cubic inch V8 still delivers the kind of oomph that you'd expect from one of the nastiest machines of 1971. The restoration is still quite fresh, so the detailing is excellent throughout, including Hemi Orange on the block, black wrinkle paint on the air cleaner, and reproduction decals. Correct hoses and clamps reinforce the idea that someone did this one right, and the way it runs is proof that the internals are quite sound. A reproduction dual exhaust system gives it a period-perfect burble that doesn't ever get annoying, and it's framed by a super sanitary undercarriage with lots and lots of new components. A heavy-duty D32 3-speed automatic and 8.75-inch rear end make for a reliable powertrain, and classic Rallyes with reproduction F60-15 Goodyear Polyglas bias-ply tires complete the show-ready look. With wonderful documentation and a very accurate restoration, this is an investment-grade Super Bee. It won't be long before the '71s are on the hot list, so pick up a great one before the prices start to move. 1971 Charger with a 383 magnum and a 727 Torqueflite transmission, column shift. Both have been freshly rebuilt with about a hundred miles on both. Sounds amazing and runs great. Plenty of power. Everything works with the exception of the A/C due to it being removed. Black hood, black interior, black original style spoiler, and the vinyl top has been dyed black as well (it used to have a white top and interior). In the pictures you can see that the front seat is white still. This was before I put a black seat cover on it. The rear seat was actually dyed black. The trunk has been refinished and brought back to factory condition. It has an older paint job on everything but the hood so it has a couple defects here and there, overall it still looks great. No body damage. Very low miles on the car so it's still very straight (106,xxx). Almost all new front end and suspension parts. Everything is very tight. No leaks of any kind. I have a new black headliner for it, it just needs installed. It has an aftermarket transmission kick-down kit that converted it to a cable style. It has an aluminum Edelbrock intake and a pretty new Edelbrock carb. I haven't ran the numbers on it but I believe the carb is a 650cfm. New true dual exhaust all the way back with shorty CherryBomb glasspacks. The engine bay has been refinished as well ( before you ask why I painted it green, I didn't. Sadly the engine was freshly painted before I got it, it still looks really clean though.) It also has a new Edelbrock air cleaner and a new battery. Pretty new Torq Thrust D wheels and new tires all the way around. This car is pretty visually appealing and I get a lot of compliments on it. Just shoot me an offer and we'll talk. Best offer takes it. I will continue doing some stuff to it in the mean time. Clean title. Thanks, Zack.
