The timeless body lines and straightforward mechanicals have have made this bodystyle a favorite among Mopar fans. 1974 was the last year for this true hardtop coupe. The Oldsmobile Omega and Pontiac Ventura were the remaining two models in this GM stable. Base engine was a Chevrolet 250 Cu. In. six cylinder, but the Buick 350 Cu. In. V8 was also offered as an option. In 1974, Buick even offered a sport oriented GSX model. In 1975, the Apollo was replaced by an all new Skylark. Of the four X body models, the Apollo was the most well appointed. After all, next to Cadillac, Buick was the top of the line brand. Hydraulic roller cam and valve train. Deco Remy electronic ignition. Electric fuel pump. Hooker Super Comp headers connected to Walker free flow exhaust. Thermostatically controlled cooling fan. 100 amp alternator. Vintage Old School rebuilt Turbo 375 transmission with stall converter. The Turbo 375 was a transmission used by GM in the “70’s, basically a Turbo 400 with less clutches. Ford 9” rear differential with Richmond 4.11 gears and full spool. Moroso Trick Springs in the front for maximum weight transfer. Heavy duty leaf springs in the back, with extended shackles that provide the nostalgic “California Rake”, the nose down, rear up drive height wildly popular in the ’60’s and ’70’s. Rear air shocks. Lakewood adjustable traction bars. Frame ties. Four wheel disc brakes with adjustable proportioning valve. Front tubular A arms with greasable polyurethane bushings. Undercarriage is clean and nicely detailed in black. You can drive this car without spending hours cleaning the undercarriage when you are done. Still nice enough to take it to a car show. Remember, this beauty only has two miles since the restoration. This car needs to be driven to break it in and shake it down. Keep in mind that you may have to perform some minor adjustments after some long distance driving, such as retorquing header bolts, checking miscellaneous nuts and bolts, etc. This is just common sense maintenance. Trunk has been stripped and resplattered, with new sealer in the seams. Fuel cell and battery located in the trunk. Master cutoff switch professionally installed, not just hacked in. This 1969 Oldsmobile 442 Convertible is a California car from new, with it's original Black license plate, and a genuine 442, with correct "344" vin code. We purchased it from the gentleman who owned it since 1981 , when it was only a 12 year old car! It's offered by the Vault Classic Cars Dealership. . We believe the engine is the original one - it has the correct 1969 block casting number of 396026G, the number stamped on the pad on the left side matches the sequential portion of the VIN # - stamping shows 39Z 122153, and the cylinder heads are both 394648 casting numbers. . Here's a close up of the stamp pad, located on the front left side of the block, and showing the sequential VIN number that matches the car. . Here's the trim tag, showing the important 344 code signifying 442, 67 for convertible body type, and blue interior and white exterior. . . The Chrome Erson Valvecovers are a blast from the past! It returned to production as a smaller luxury Cadillac from 1975 to 2004. In the second run of production from 1975 to 1976, the Seville began as a 4-door sedan with mandatory vinyl roof, due to roof construction being in two parts. The engine was a 350 CID Oldsmobile V8 or diesel V8 (1978+) outfitted with Bendix/Bosch fuel injection that was electronically controlled. The Seville was then made in Detroit, MI and in Iran from 1977 to 1980. In the beginning, all of the first 2,000 Seville cars were produced in the Georgian Silver color and had identical equipment, which allowed line workers to get up to speed quickly. This new, smaller Cadillac was in direct opposition to other Cadillacs, where bigger meant better. In fact, the Seville was both the smallest and the most expensive Cadillac. It was about 1,000 pounds lighter than the big Deville models, which made the Seville easier for drivers to park and drive. It still was a full Cadillac with regard to attractive Cadillac features. Seville was initially priced at $12,479. It was built on the K-body platform, and had a 3-speed automatic transmission. It ran with 180 horsepower and got 17/23 city/highway mileage. TrimAbout the 1976 Cadillac Seville The Cadillac Seville has been in production two different times, first in the 1950s and 1960s as a two-door hardtop coupe, and later as a four-door sedan. It returned to production as a smaller luxury Cadillac from 1975 to 2004. In the second run of production from 1975 to 1976, the Seville began as a 4-door sedan with mandatory vinyl roof, due to roof construction being in two parts. The engine was a 350 CID Oldsmobile V8 or diesel V8 (1978+) outfitted with Bendix/Bosch fuel injection that was electronically controlled. The Seville was then made in Detroit, MI and in Iran from 1977 to 1980. In the beginning, all of the first 2,000 Seville cars were produced in the Georgian Silver color and had identical equipment, which allowed line workers to get up to speed quickly. This new, smaller Cadillac was in direct opposition to other Cadillacs, where bigger meant better. In fact, the Seville was both the smallest and the most expensive Cadillac. It was about 1,000 pounds lighter than the big Deville models, which made the Seville easier for drivers to park and drive. It still was a full Cadillac with regard to attractive Cadillac features. Seville was initially priced at $12,479. It was built on the K-body platform, and had a 3-speed automatic transmission. It ran with 180 horsepower and got 17/23 city/highway mileage. This car is one of the cleanest I have had and has been very well cared for over the years. This is a 1 Owner Car that only has 81,500K Original Miles on it. Inside and out this car is clean as can be. It has the 4.2L V8 engine which puts out a lot of power and still gets well over 20 MPG on the highway. You just can't beat these cars. This car is one of the cleanest I have had and has been very well cared for over the years. This is a 1 Owner Car that only has 79,800K Original Miles on it. Inside and out this car is clean as can be. It has the 4.2L V8 engine which puts out a lot of power and still gets well over 20 MPG on the highway. You just can't beat these cars. They just float down the road and are one of the best driving cars that I know. The previous owner kept this car maintained properly and it shows. It has the Chrome Factory Wheels that really set this car of and show almost no road wear at all. The tires are a newer set of Michelin's that I would say have about 80% tread left. These are top of the line tires that have a lot of miles left on them.
