Up for sale here is a very nice 1979 Z28 Camaro. It has never had any rot or accidents. The original interior is in good shape the drivers seat bottom is ripped. The headliner in drooping a bit, I have motors for this but am willing to sell as a builder. If i don't get a good offer i will have one of my small blocks installed. I have been collecting old cars for decades and it is time to try and let a couple dozen go. I have done body and paint work since the 70's so I know what a solid car is. This is a 1978 Camaro project car. I have done a huge amount of work to the car already. The body is near perfect and ready for paint. It's been primed and sealed with high quality Sherwin Williams paint and the underside has been stripped, prepped, and sealed with gloss black POR-15. I have a HUGE amount of parts that go with the car, as well as a machined and ready to build 350 block with performance heads straight from the machine shop, as well as a crank, piston rods and a whole bunch of other stuff. There's a whole bunch of awesome parts including new nose cone, perfect Z-28 fenders, flares, a great set of the 5 spoke Z-28 wheels powder coated black, a 3.42 posi unit, steel cowl hood. The subframe and all suspension in the front and rear are new, all brand new bushings, etc. There is really no way for me to list everything I have done to the car or everything that is there. If you have a question about anything in particular, just send me a message and I can call you or get you whatever information you might need. I have all the wiring for the car (including A/C, Power Windows, Locks, etc.) restored and bagged and ready for installation. The car is in an indoor storage and is taken apart just the way you see it in the pictures, so you will have to plan for that when you pick it up or have it shipped. I can help with the loading or could deliver for a fee. This car has already had all the messy, hard work of restoration done. It just needs someone to finish it out. I just no longer have the time. I am sure it is worth much more than I am asking, I just need it gone.

With a great color combination, a 4-speed manual gearbox, and a bunch of desirable options, this is an entry-level collectable with all the hard work already done. While most Camaros of this vintage were garish '70s colors, the relatively subtle code 69 Dark Camel is just right for a '70s muscle car. They took it easy on the stripes, too, framing the cool hood scoop and wheel wells, but it's surprisingly tame for the period. The important thing is that someone spent a lot of time and money refinishing the bodywork to its current high level, with modern paint giving it a brilliant shine and only a few signs of use since it was completed. Those long doors fit quite well and don't need a heavy slam to close, and the nose and tail pieces fit flush with the bodywork and are actually the same color as the rest of the car, which was definitely not the case in 1978. Correct Z28 emblems in the grille, on the front fenders, and between the taillights are correct color-matched pieces, and while you're admiring the rear end, check out how well that spoiler fits. This was not some quickie spray and pray job; someone built this car out of love. The interior is not only quite nicely preserved, but it's also a handsome light-colored complement to the exterior paint. The high-back buckets look fantastic, even decades later, and are matched by the quality of the door panels and carpets. The steering wheel was obviously designed to look like a vintage string-wrapped competition piece and has aged quite well without the usual UV damage, probably thanks to a large cover protecting it. All the gauges are bright and crisp, and yes, that's a factory close-ratio 4-speed, a somewhat rare option in 1978 and one that adds a lot of fun to the car's resume. The original AM/FM stereo remains in the dash, and it also carries goodies like power windows and a center console. Custom Z/28 logo floor mats help protect what might be original carpets, and the back seat looks almost new. The trunk is extremely clean, too, with a correct black fabric and matching spare tire assembly with jack. The Z28 carried the top engine, a 350 rated at 185 horsepower and a stout 270 pounds of torque, but this one, with a recent rebuild and a few performance tweaks, runs even better than those numbers would suggest. The engine bay is exceedingly clean, with the engine wearing correct corporate turquoise paint and dressed up with items like a chrome air cleaner and valve covers. Performance upgrades include the Edelbrock intake manifold and Holley 4-barrel carburetor, as well as a throaty dual exhaust system that's better than anything the Feds permitted in 1978. The 4-speed powers through the gears, and the 10-bolt out back packs 3.42 gears on a Posi, which are a nice balance between acceleration and easy highway cruising. The floors are incredibly clean and even though it's not detailed for show, it's easy to see that this car lived someplace warm for most of its life. Factory alloy wheels are in excellent shape and wear 235/60/15 white-letter radials. If you like the look, this Camaro will likely turn out to also be a smart investment in the not-too-distant future. you are bidding on a nice 1978 pro street Camaro / muscle car that was traded in at my motorcycle dealership and I don't need this thing sitting around, I know about all the details on it but will tell you about everything I know and can get any answers or any questions that you might have as I know the previous owner, he has done everything right when he built the car, this will make someone and excellent toy to have to play with on or off the street, this can be driven on the street as the head lights, tail lights, running lights and brake light all work, but the turn signals are not working but I am sure it is an easy fix as everything is all there or jus play with it on the strip, the motor is a chevy 350 bored .040 and is a 377 cu.in. and is 13 to 1 compression engine and can be set up for nitrous if you would like as it has forged new forged pistons and the motor is all fresh with no time on it, this Camaro has been tubed as shown and has the 4 link system with wheelie bars and previous customer says it will pull and carry the front wheels with no problem, has a 350 turbo transmission and is all fresh and rebuilt with a 4500 hughes stall converter, new custom built heavy duty drive shaft, new moser 31 spline rear axles, has a new strange spool in the rear end, has line lock on front end, motor was just upgraded with new msd distributor and msd adjustable box, again all new forged pistons and rings and new clevite bearings, new crane cam, new crane gold roller rockers, has a set of pro action rhs heads with 220 runners 64cc with 205.5 valves, has eagle h beam rods, has a scat steel crank, all arp screw in studs, dart intake with a 700 holley with squirters, has a trans brake, has a hughes 4500 pro competition stall converter, has a ford 9" rear end with 500 gears in it, has 31x14x15 drag slicks and I also I have a set of street tires and rims ( not shown), holley electric blue style fuel pump, electric water pump, electric radiator fans,4 core aluminum radiator, the motor sounds and runs awesome!!!!!! also has roll cage as shown with bucket race seats with 5 point harness on both seats, body is all nice and straight as shown in the pics, paint is all very nice with a few minor chips that have been touched up but again nothing major at all !!!!! this car is located in lima ohio 45807 and buyer is responsible for pick up of car, so if you are looking for a nice street car / muscle or drag car this could be the one !!!!!!! you can't build it for what I need for it, I can take your car, truck,motorcycle or maybe something you might have to trade also?? so don't wait as it is for sale locally and auction could end at anytime, so hit the buy it now button and it is yours!!!!!! check out my other items?? happy bidding!!!!! if any questions call 419-331-2333 and ask for tim
