This Southern born and bred truck only spent a few brief months in a northern climate before it was rescued and brought back down to Florida, and it shows like a rust-free Southern truck should. The stunning Desert Gold paint on the truck is in extremely good condition throughout, and while it appears factory correct and matches the 7 color code original to what should be on the truck, I have to believe it was redone at some point, as it simply shows too nice!!! The prior owner didn’t paint it, and I am still trying to track down the owner before that. Either way, the finish is stunning. It is glossy, wet, and slick looking, and has obviously been rigorously cleaned and maintained over the years, because it has NO faded spots, NO clear-coat issues, and shows like it was 1980 and you were shopping for a used truck! Yes, it does have a few minor blemishes like miniscule stone chips, hairline scuffs, and other minor surface imperfections, but certainly nothing that detracts from the overall presentation of the truck as you can tell from the 100 Extra-Large photos I provided. There is NO sign of any rust, rot, repaired, or replaced panels on the truck, and it is about as solid an example of ANY vehicle as you could ask for. No chicken wire, beer cans, or crushed up scrap metal anywhere, and no bondo panels either. It is steel, it is real, and it looks to be all original too. The aluminum trim on the truck is in very good condition, and appears to be original as well. All of the emblems and badging look great too, and are properly affixed. Chrome front and rear bumpers look magnificent, and giant rear step bumper has a holes for a hitch, along with a frame mounted REESE type box hitch underneath. Aluminum grill shows like new, and has no cracks or damage evident. There is a heavy duty bed liner installed in the bed, and I have not removed it, so I cannot tell you what the finish is like underneath, but looking from the underside of the truck up, I know that it is all steel, looks factory, and has NO sign of rust, rot, or any other issues. The bed liner itself looks great and has no sign of damage. Chrome bed rails look fantastic, as do the chrome mirrors, antenna, door handles and dual exhaust tips. Tail gate opens and closes like it should, and has no sign of rust or rot inside, at the hinges, or anywhere else. All of the lights look like new, and they all work like they should. The truck rides on what appears to be practically new American Racing aluminum wheels wrapped in like new Cooper Discoverer HT radial tires sized P255/70r16. Rear window has some light marks on it, but it could be in the tint. Windshield has VERY light marks in a couple spots, but is really good. Side windows and vent windows look perfect. All of the window seals are in excellent condition, and show no dryness or issues. Inside the cab, all of the door seal rubber is in excellent condition too, with no dryness or damage. The optional vinyl chain mail bench seat is in excellent condition, with no damage, dryness, or seam pulls. Carpet is in excellent condition, with no stains, rips, tears, or damage. Door panels look like new, and the galvanized door pulls show light patina from use. Window rollers and door pulls look fantastic! Windows go up and down perfectly, with no snags or extra effort needed. Vent windows open and close as they should. Dual sun visors look great and work like they should, and the factory headliner is in great condition and doesn’t droop down. The steering wheel with factory wrap looks amazing, and has no cracks or issues. Horn works like it should too. Dash is in excellent condition with no cracks or damage, and just light patina where it was factory silvered. All of the gauges work like they should and appear to be correctly calibrated. Speedometer is about 8 mph slower than GPS actual, which I attribute to the taller than stock tire and wheel combo. Factory AM-FM radio works like it should, and sounds great inside the cab! Glove box opens to reveal a cleanly finished interior, and the ashtray works as well, with a functional 12V outlet. Dome light works like it should, as do the dash lights and dimmer. All wiring looks amazing and clean, and under dash area appears unmolested, clean, and factory neat. Under the hood, the truck is equipped with the 302 V8 2bbl engine the VIN says it should have! Engine bay presents as well as a 20K mile, 36 year old truck should. The galvanized factory inner fenders show patina and marks from normal use, but are solid and straight. Firewall is clean and straight, and has the BUCK TAG affixed to it as well. Stainless steel air cleaner unit is clean, and shows only normal signs of use and age. Factory jack with handle/lug wrench is in place. Charcoal canister filter is in place. All hoses are in good condition, with most appearing to be newer replacements. Battery is in excellent condition, and has not dropped down in power while the truck has been here. The factory Air Conditioning set up has been converted to an R134A refrigerant, and blows VERY cold air, and hot heat. Radiator is solid, clean, looks to be the original unit, and does not leak. During my time with the truck, it has NOT run hot once, or even went over the mid-point on the functional gauge. The engine itself has the requisite blue FORD paint that looks great, but is not perfect. It has some little marks on it, and signs of normal use and wear, but for a 36 year old engine, it shows VERY well! Mechanically speaking, the truck has been a dream to have around the store! It starts right up, idles cleanly, doesn’t smoke or leak, and is ready to go whenever you are. Snick the Select-Shift Automatic into gear, and the truck pulls away with plenty of power, and shifts smoothly and cleanly through all the gears until you get to cruising speed. As mentioned earlier in the listing, the speedometer is about 8 mph slower than GPS actual, which I attribute to the taller than stock tire and wheel combo. Using my GPS APP, the truck had NO TROUBLE hanging with traffic at 75mph, and is fully capable of going faster if you want it to! Handling is neutral, with no pulling or wander, and the modern radials really help it ride and track nice too. Braking is smooth and sure, with no pulling, excess fade, or unusual pedal modulation. They are disc in the front and drum in the rear, with factory power assist. Ride is comfortable, with just enough suspension to absorb the normal day-to-day bumps in the road without sacrificing payload, hauling, and trailering ability. I used the truck to pull my 18’ Aluma car trailer with a motorcycle on on back, and it worked PERFECTLY, with a modern CURT box hitch underneath and modern wiring harness for the trailer. The chassis itself is clean, neat, and free of rust, rot, and globs of “undercoating spray” a lot of places use to hide things. The metal is clean, and panels are clean, and everything looks more like it is 6 years old instead of 36. The exhaust system shows oxidation in spots, but it is NOT rust/rot. If you hit it with a wire brush, it comes off to reveal clean metal. Same can be said for a few exposed bolts and things. Spare tire is intact and hanging under the rear of the chassis. I have NOT removed it, but it appears original, and is mounted on a steel rim. Overall, the truck is SUPER solid underneath, VERY clean, and you probably think it was just a few years old if you saw it from the underside in person. The truck doesn’t do anything funny when you drive it. It feels like it is 1980 and you are shopping for a clean pre-owned truck. There are no known mechanical, electrical, or functional issues at this time, other than the aforementioned speedometer calibration being off. This truck is ready to go. It has been safety checked, and all the lights, wipers, and safety items function as they should. 1949 Ford F-1 Truck, getting hard to find model Ford F-1 pickup truck, very nice older restoration painted hot rod flat black paint. All steel body and fenders, with an all Ford drive train: 302 V8, C4 automatic trans. with “Lokar” floor shifter and a 78 Ford LTD 9” rear end. Front end replaced with a 1980 Camaro (clip) suspension , which gives the truck a nice ride, with power steering, disk brakes and 15” ford wheels. A new gas tank installed between rear frame rails, much safer than the stock behind the seat gas tank which was removed. Some additional 302 V8 motor items, see photos: Edelbrock 4 barrel manifold and Edelbrock 4-V carburetor and, a MSD electronic ignition. The F-1 has a 12 volt system with alternator and “kill switch” plus a electric radiator fan. Nice inside bench seat with seat belts, and nice custom door panels, doors fit the body very even. Very bright new five gauge “Equus” instruments on dash as well as a CD player. Note: The windshield wiper needs repair. 1973 Ford F100 Ranger. 428 V8, 4 x 4, 4-speed manual transmission, power steering and brakes. Original owner. Handles and runs well--engine is strong with muscle car power, does not smoke. Engine has about 82,000 miles on it; transmission has been rebuilt, brake linings replaced and drums turned. Odometer reading is 81,227; it has turned but doesn't show on old style 5 digit odometer. Dash and dome liner very nice, no cracks. Has like-new Highway LT radial tires. Was painted from factory blue to current blue in late 1980s; any rusty (minor) panels were replaced. Has never been in an accident. Was a Colorado vehicle (garaged) until 2001 when it went into retirement; has been stored inside in Kansas until March of this year. We have taken it to car shows but it is not show perfect. There are three very small areas where paint bubbled and has minor scratches on passenger side from fence gate. Engine bay and box have not been detailed. It gets a lot of attention and compliments. We are not aware of any mechanical issues. longdogcustoms store This is a 3 owner fully restored 1981 Ford F-100 Custom with 82,883 original miles. This is a very rare truck! That is why it was given the full frame up restoration treatment. This was the last year for the Custom trim level as Ford went to the XL, XLT trim identifications. It was the last year the Ford letters appeared on the hood as the new grille got the blue Ford oval. Its also rare given F-100 production was very low and that the F-100 was being phased out for the 1983 model year. It has just been completed after a pain staking full frame up restoration. Just about every bolt was touched on this restoration. This is a real numbers matching truck. It was manufactured in September 1980, comes equipped with bullet proof 300 4.9 straight six, and a Automatic C4 transmission. Asking 11,950 or a best offer. I am motivated by no means desperate. That being said I will entertain a serious best offer. This F-100 drives amazingly well. It is as close to new as you can get without a time machine! It starts right up on first turn every time, idle is excellent, and handles perfectly at any speed. You can drive it anywhere! I will try to itemize everything that was done but it may be easier to say what wasn’t done! As I stated every bolt was touched. I can only display 24 pictures for this listing and that is difficult since I have close to 100 of them. They were taken during the restoration to show how even the simplest of things were taken down and restored. The body has over 500 man hours of labor in it. The results are amazing and be durable for many years to come. The entire truck top to bottom was stripped down and then coated in multiple layers of sealer primmer. The entire truck was painted and then reassembled. The engine compartment was blasted and stripped down. The engine went thru a mild rebuild top to bottom. Steering System: Power steering pump Upper power steering hose Lower power steering hose Steering coupler assembly New seals and brushings The entire electrical system was gone thru wire by wire. Many new grounds and parts of the wires were repaired and or replaced. The entire under hood wiring was then covered in in wire loom jacketing. A more modern stereo was installed as well as new speakers in the door. Looks great and sounds even better. New engine grounds Battery Alternator Battery cables Starter solenoid Two door speakers AM FM CD stereo radio with AUX input Dual map light single dome ford chromed overhead lamp New LED gauge cluster lighting as well as all dash components HVAC blower motor with relay All new fuses Interior was taken down to the last part. Every part was cleaned and either repaired / refurbished or replaced. The dash pad replaced and dyed correct medium gray color Dash body reinforced and repaired then dyed medium gray Door panels re-dyed medium gray Seat trims were all dyed the medium gray Seat had springs replaced, painted, new foam, new custom upholstery New headliner The entire interior floor was painted with primer / sealer after all seams were sealed with a seam sealer. The floors were then painted in the finish color. Both doors were fully primed and painted top to bottom as well as both jams. The inner moving parts were cleaned and lubricated. The doors were recovered with a 6 mil moisture barrier as opposed to the original paper. The firewall and floor pans were covered in thermo wrap to insulate and noise reduction. The flooring has a custom molded rubber flooring with padding. Most of the interior parts were reinstalled using stainless steel fasteners where appropriate. The headliner is the same vinyl material that was used on the seat upholstery. It looks beautiful. The two sun visors, center support, windshield pillar trims, and all surrounding roof trims were dyed medium gray. The HVAC system was fully dismantled inside and outside. All duct work was thoroughly cleaned and treated with a safe solution to preserve it. The blower box was resealed and a new blower motor was installed in it. The entire HVAC system was reinstalled perfectly with all new seals and insulations. As per the following: Heater box new seal and insulation Blower box new seals and insulation New blower motor New blower motor relay Heater core New Hoses It has a completely new exhaust system from the new manifold to the dual stainless steel exhaust tips. Essentially every part of the exhaust system was replaced. Look amazing and sounds great without being to loud. The braking system got a full overhaul. Installed a new Master cylinder Power brake booster Hoses Metal brake lines. Both sides of the firewall were stripped down and any questionable areas were properly repaired with new metal. Both sides of the wall were primed with a primer / sealer getting four coats. Both sides of the wall got all new seal seals. The four wheels were all blasted down to bare metal. They were then painted in four stages to achieve the finish they originally had when new. They have all new Ford center trim rings and chrome lug nuts. The entire frame of the vehicle was cleaned and sanded. It was then painted in chassis black gloss finish. All wheel wells were painted in a chassis black finish. The fuel tank was drained and cleaned. It was inspected and is in excellent condition. There is a 4 pin tow wiring harness tucked up in the rear should you want to tow something. Transmission had a full service check-up with new fluids and filter. It shifts smoothly thru all gears. The engine has all the following: New 1 barrel carburetor Accessory drive belts Pulleys Spark Plugs Spark plug wires EGR valve PCV valve Sport Vacuum lines Air cleaner stripped and refinished Distributor with cap Ported vacuum switch Chrome Breather cap Chrome Fuel Filter Gasket Set Fuel lines All weather-stripping was replaced. Door complete weather stripe seal to body Door complete runner weather stripe Both doors inner window rail weather stripe Both doors outer window rail weather stripe The body was addressed as follows: The entire outer body was sanded down. Truck bed was fully removed , blasted, finish coated. Any issues were properly repaired with welded panels. Body was shot with primer sealer. Entire car was wet sanded. Body was shot with multiple coats of base coat clear coat Underside of hood was finished exactly as the rest of the body. The bed was given many hours of attention. Any repairs were made with welded metal repairs. The entire bed area was painted in a primmer sealer. It was then coated in multiple coats of a spray in bed liner. It gives the truck a super tough look as well as making the bed very durable. The bed bolts were replaced with new hardware. The spare tire set up was changed to a later model style with a crank style lifting unit. The original was just terrible. It was a cross angled arm that was supported by a bolt at each end. You would have to crawl under the truck and lower the full weight of the tire to the ground. Most people would just have it drop to the ground running a chance at injury to you or at minimum damage to the arm. With this new style you insert a tire iron into the hole hidden behind the license plate and just turn it using the handle to easily lower the spare. Putting it back up is just as simple turning the same wrench in the opposite direction. This is the mechanism they currently use today. I know this is a lot of information to take in but I wanted this to be as thorough as possible to inform the next owner as of everything it took to achieve this beautiful finished product. I attest this is my vehicle, in my possession. The title is clear, clean & uncontested and has never been otherwise, going back, thru the last three owners, into the 1980's. 1956 Ford F-100 Pickup. Longbed. Good overall condition. Has 1982 Ford 5.0 L. H.O. (302 c.i.) V-8 motor, Edlebrock 4-Bbl. carb & manifold. Pertronix ignition module. Good, otherwise stock, smooth running engine. Ford SVO cast alum. valve covers. Transmission is 1979 Ford C-4 Auto., w/new torq. convrt. & front seal. Rear end/differential is 1973 Ford Torino - 9" w/2.75 gears. Front suspension is 1980 Chrysler LeBaron/Volare, bolted-on, not welded-on. It has caster correct, re-enforced front notches in original truck frame. Power steering & disc brakes. All wheels- five lug, 4 ½" bolt pattern. New poly bushings & ball joints on upper/lower arms, torsion bars and main mounts to original truck frame. Torsion bars adjustable for desired front stance. Rest of truck pretty much stock with repaint. Has very comfortable, reupholstered front bench seat. Overhead center console with AM/FM, cassette radio, graphic equalizer, 40 chnl. CB radio. Carpeted floorboard w/black rubber mat overlay. Like new condition tires - 235/75R-15" Coopers. Sheetmetal is good & straight. Lower cab corners good originals. Has small patch piece on under/backside of lower left front. Lower, front right cab corner has some minor rust on inside portion. Fixable with panel/patch. Lower front of doors have minor pits showing. Hood has front mounted hinges. Bed has very good metal, but wood boards are rotted at ends. P/O had bed mat left in place while parked outside. Mileage of 58,316 is what shows on replacement odometer. Actual mileage unknown. Originally, truck was 6 cyl, Ford-O-Matic. Extra 1956, 6 cyl., 223 c.i. motor, complete - fan-to-3-spd trans, goes along with truck - if you want. Also, original front & rear ends with brakes, springs & steering box/linkage.
