Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham d'Elegance Sedan 4-Door 5.0 Was a one owner car until I had filed for lost title due to owners death and title was not located. I bought the car with 41000 original miles with original sales receipt from dealer and I have all registrations insurance renewals and repair ticket for the car from 1986 to current very clean inside and out but still needs work due to the fact car was parked since 2004. since I bought it I have put in a new gas tank all new tires engine flush and fluid change new belts and drove the car from Shreveport Louisiana to El paso TX 860 mile one way trip. car will need work on all chrome to either re polish or re chrome but I have sourced a used front bumper grille and wheel trim. car starts and runs drives with good brakes cold ac and cruise control but horn and windshield wipers do not work, Radio works but not the cassette player does not and antenna was disconnected because it kept running. It will require further detailing cleaning of engine compartment and other areas but the car still is very Respectful project that gets lots of attention and complements when I drive it. This listing is for an older Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham with an interior of plush velvet tan upholstery hardly broken in 85,000 miles. Electric seat adjustment, windows, door locks all functional. It was driven in-city miles for the last 12 years to keep a retiree in groceries and doctor visits. It's had no mechanical issues except for the occasional muffler re-weld. At present it will start and run and is still a comfortable driving car. I've had its headliner and vinyl top replaced about 10 years ago. There's minimal corrosion\rust on a few places where it has begun showing need for a paint job. And there's the typical plastic panels between the front bumper and quarter panels that need replacement due to aging-deterioration (I've replaced the rear bumper's panels and painted them to match). There's a minimal oil drip after the car has been driven awhile and warmed up. It has barely worn tires and and a battery less than 3 years old.This is a sale and not a trade.

Originally Regal Silver, the car was purchased by the original owners as a Silver Anniversary present. It was repainted Sable Black in 1993, and new correct halo top replaced, but is otherwise as delivered. The car is always kept garaged. Over the years the exhaust, brake, and cooling systems have been overhauled and new Air Shocks and rear coil springs have been replaced. The car runs and drives quite well. The original interior will need some refreshing, and the brightwork could use some attention as well, but essentially this is a solid, usable example that can be improved over time. The car feaures Power Brakes, Steering, Windows, Seat, Door Locks and Antenna, Cruise Control, and Telescopic/Tilt Wheel. Included are all books, records, a shop manual and 1967 Dealer Catalogue. Originally used for a single horse drawn enclosed carriage for 2-4 people, the “Brougham” owes its name to a British statesman, Henry Brougham, 1st Baron Brougham and Vaux, whose second claim to fame is having given to the sea-front drive, in Nice in the South of France, the nickname of Promenade des Anglais (the "promenade where the English stroll"). Cadillac first used the name in 1916 to designate an enclosed 5-7 passenger sedan body style. In the thirties, the name was given to a formal body style with open chauffeur compartment and enclosed rear quarters, metal roof and often "razor-edged" styling. When Cadillac started offering Fleetwood bodies on some of its cars in 1925, the Brougham body style was Fleetwood bodied every year with the exception of 1926.] After 1937 the Brougham name was not applied to any Cadillac for the remainder of the pre-World War II period. The Brougham name would eventually reappear on the 1955 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham show car, which preceded the 4-door Eldorado Brougham hardtops of the 1957 to 1960 model years.The 1957 Cadillac Series 70 Eldorado Brougham joined the Sixty Special and the Series 75 as the only Cadillac models with Fleetwood bodies although Fleetwood script or crests did not appear anywhere on the exterior of the car, and so this would also mark the first time in 20 years that that a Fleetwood bodied car was paired with the Brougham name. After a five year absence the Brougham name reappeared as an option package on the 1965 Cadillac Sixty Special.The following year the Brougham moved up to becoming a subseries of the Fleetwood Sixty Special. This continued through 1970. Starting in 1971 the Sixty Special was only available as the well equipped Fleetwood Sixty Special Brougham. He wanted to buy a Cadillac and Elizabeth Banks who plays Melinda Ledbetter meets him in the showroom they discuss the car and the first 9 minutes of the movie takes place in this Very Cadillac. It is a true story of How the Beach Boys Brian Wilson actually met his second wife Melinda Ledbetter she was an actual Cadillac saleswoman in Los Angeles in 1986. This vehicle was used in the movie to depict the first encounter. The car Brian Wilson actually bought was a Brougham. The movie company for Love and Mercy sent out emails and went on a long search to find just the right car which they did, they had the Brougham to be used. Upon arriving in Los Angeles for shooting this 1986 Fleetwood was to be a back drop vehicle. Brian Wilson personally hand-picked the car and changed the script to accommodate this vehicle to be used instead of a Brougham because it best suited his memory of that actual day. John Cusack playing the role of Brian Wilson with Elizabeth Banks playing the role of Melinda acted out the scene to perfection. Brian was so captivated with the car and his memory of his first meeting with his wife shortly after the scene was completed he asked the current owner of this Cadillac if the car was for sale and if he could buy it as a gift for Melinda. Although the car brought back fond memories, understandably she was not excited about having a 1986 Cadillac in 2015. Brian regrettably told our client he would not be buying the vehicle. He wanted to buy a Cadillac and Elizabeth Banks who plays Melinda Ledbetter meets him in the showroom they discuss the car and the first 9 minutes of the movie takes place in this Very Cadillac. It is a true story of How the Beach Boys Brian Wilson actually met his second wife Melinda Ledbetter she was an actual Cadillac saleswoman in Los Angeles in 1986. This vehicle was used in the movie to depict the first encounter. The car Brian Wilson actually bought was a Brougham. The movie company for Love and Mercy sent out emails and went on a long search to find just the right car which they did, they had the Brougham to be used. Upon arriving in Los Angeles for shooting this 1986 Fleetwood was to be a back drop vehicle. Brian Wilson personally hand-picked the car and changed the script to accommodate this vehicle to be used instead of a Brougham because it best suited his memory of that actual day. John Cusack playing the role of Brian Wilson with Elizabeth Banks playing the role of Melinda acted out the scene to perfection. Brian was so captivated with the car and his memory of his first meeting with his wife shortly after the scene was completed he asked the current owner of this Cadillac if the car was for sale and if he could buy it as a gift for Melinda. Although the car brought back fond memories, understandably she was not excited about having a 1986 Cadillac in 2015. Brian regrettably told our client he would not be buying the vehicle.
