Rare, All Original 1986 Nissan 300ZX V6 (non-Turbo Model). Purchased new by the current owner in 1986. 113.8K original miles, regularly driven locally and never parked for any long periods. Never wrecked. Seats have always had seat covers on them and are like new. All maintenance records, provenance and original window sticker exist as well as owners manual and Chilton's repair manual and the original genuine Nissan bra, mud flaps, louvers and floor mats. Diehl Nissan in Huntsville has done the maintenance on this vehicle for nearly 27 years since the original dealership warranty maintenance period was done. Very clean condition – this car has been loved by its owner but its time to move on. The original platinum color paint is pristine on the sides but it has the normal paint fogging on the top surfaces that is so common in Datsun/Nissan cars. Engine timing belt was changed at the recommended time, runs great and has the 300ZX smooth, powerful ride that made this vehicle a target of so many collectors. A/C refurbishment in about 2013 changed the A/C to the new Freon. Heater also works. This is a perfect car to fully restore with a paint job and some minor replacements such as new rubber seals on the glass. Original Nissan radio/tape deck does not work but is still in the car. It has not had an ugly stereo replacement that cut up the dash like most others. Its rare to find a 30 year-old car like this in such great, original condition that has not already been restored (or messed up) in some way.

This is a Z31 gold 1986 Nissan 300zx (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_300ZX#Z31) with an automatic transmission and 115,322 on the V6 VG30E (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_VG_engine#VG30E) engine. It is the 2+2 model with the backseat.4 owner vehicle with maintenance records. Original owner was a women who serviced it at the dealer. Please see the pictures for detailed condition.This car was very sophisticated for its time and features Nissan's first mass produced V6 engine. New it cost the equivalent of over $40,000 in today's dollars.Asa 1986, it shares some of the body features of the 1985s and the 1987s. As a 30 year old car it has its pluses and minus which I am listing below. It is by no means a show car but is an excellent starting point for a restoration or project or it can be driven and enjoyed in its current form. The good points:*Runs, drives and stops. This was a daily driver.*Low miles for its age*Headlights work and go up and down.*Has Digital Dash but the number 8 looks weird on the digital dash.*T-tops and glass are in good condition and the t-tops seal well. The t-top covers and carry case are included as well.*Recently replaced the alternator, put in a new battery and new serpentine belts. *New K&N air filter and I have the old housing and filter.*Clean WI Title*Dash is in good shape.Brake work was done around 78k, 95k and 99K. rear shocks done at 88k in 2013.Cooper tires have about 15,000 miles on them.Carpets are have some dirt and stains and interior has some minor scratches, small tears and imperfections but overall, the interior is good. According to NADA low retail is $2,625, average retail is $6,350 and high value is $10,800. Issues/Blemishes:*There is an oil leak which causes some oil drips after the car is parked and some smoke from the oil that gets in the engine compartment. Car drives but oil should be regularly checked.*Fuel gauge and associated mpg functions do not work. It seems that a common cause for this in 300zxs is the fuel sender unit *Timing belt was previously done at around 52,750 so it is due for a new timing belt if you strictly follow the 60k schedule.*Large scratch/dent on driver side door by hinge and on front fender.*There are many small dents on the passenger side fender and some dents and scratches on the hood.*Car has been smoked in so the car smells like smoke but I've been working to reduce/remove the smoke smell.*There are some places with rust (mostly surface rust). Please view my pictures below. The vast majority of the rust is early stage and very treatable. *The rust on the driver side of the windshield is more significant than the other rust.*Cracks to front air dam*Peeling paint around headlights.*Radio doesn't work - I am not certain if the talking functions of the car (probably there, but I'm not 100% sure) would work if the radio worked.*Rear View Mirror is somewhat loose.*Wear and rip on driver's seat.*Rear 300zx light lens cracked/broken off.*Center console lid is not connected well and shifts around*Hood and Hatch supports (shocks) don't keep the hood and hatch open.*Power steering fluid is leaking. I recently added stop leak power steering fluid to try to alleviate this. *There rear interior panel on the hatch could be attached better and one of the covers to that panel doesn't attach well.*Carpets have some stains. It belongs on a car hauler. 1986 Nissan 300ZX Turbo 5 speed w/ 61000 mi. - In my opinion the 86 Turbo was the best Z31 built other than the 84 50th Anniversary because they were the only models that had the same wheels, fenders & 1/4's panels flared, rocker moldings and Nissan fiberglass mudguards. Trouble free analog dash. Perfect spooling Turbo with stock compression ( 5-6 lbs. boost ) and 3 set adjustable suspension. This is a 100% stock example. All systems on point and perfectly serviced. * Only non-stock items are the painted pinstripe and chrome exhaust tips. The Orig. Steel blue metallic paint is awesome. No accidents, no marks. The moldings, handles, window glass, lettering, roof panels, covers, hand painted stripe, rubber seals, and all other exterior features are in superb condition. The turbo wheels are spotless and the Kumho tires have 75% tread. It drives straight down the road with zero issues. No winters and not exposed to the elements On the inside, the Blue interior still feels and smells new. NON-SMOKER. As you can see in the pics, the seats are clean, and the flooring has no wear. The door panels, t-top bags, t-top inserts, dash ( no cracks ), center console, faceplates, etc. are stock orig. and all of the interior buttons / switches - power windows, door locks, cruise, hatch release, fuel door, and even the clock keeps perfect time. Voice warning system fully functional. The orig. stereo / speakers sound great. The spare, tools, jack, inflator canister and bolts are in place ( see pic ). Mechanically, it starts right up, idles, and drives smoothly as you would expect of a preserved unit. The engine compartment is stock and all of the servicing is up to date - fuel injector service recall, timing belt / tensioner, plugs / wires, a/c, belts, coolant, thermostat, fluids all changed / maintained. The clutch is tight and goes through the gears without issues. All instrumentation reads out correctly. It has never been driven hard. The a/c is blistering cold and all of the other mechanics are perfect. A fun blast from the past that is a great conversation piece. You will get more attention than some more expensive sport models.

THIS CAR IS A BLAST TO DRIVE!I am the second owner of this car and have owned it since 1990. It was originally purchased in Northern Virginia and leased by a business executive. It’s been stored year round in my heated shop and has never seen snow or any road salt. The undercarriage is PERFECT. Recent tune up and road ready tires. Mileage is 107,968. Motor is a V6. ADDITIONALLY, this car is factory ready for an aftermarket turbo charger. I have the Haynes Automotive Repair Manual which breaks every inch of the car down. The exterior is champagne color.
