1987 Lincoln Town Car with 70,000 original miles, check the seat leather for verification! Great white walls with good rubber. Rides like floating on a cloud. It was recently featured in a Capitol Records music video ! Here is a clip: https://youtu.be/1FkZ2sn1ldERegister it with a film car registry and make some extra cash off of it like I did! I recently took this Lincoln on an 8 hour trip with no issue! A/C is blowing cold heat is blowing hot. No oil or coolant on the ground like you might find with a lot of older cars. You could eat off its parking spot! I just gave this car a full tune up and a lot of preventive maintenance. For your consideration is the one and only Classic Lincoln Town Car. The odometer says 61,000 miles I know it is really 161,000. After 27 years it has next to zero interior and exterior signs of use and all is remarkable. Front tires are new, rear tires are 80% and the This 27 year old is in remarkable condition. The five-digit spare is new. New battery in May 2014. Everything works splendidly except the following. The fuel gauge and the temperature gauge work intermittently/have installed a temp gauge. temperature The front passenger lock actuator also works intermittently as well. The speaker grills on the dash are not good. Other then that this Town Car is “very” clean. No rust what so ever. See the photos and decide for yourself. MPG is City 18/Hwy 24

1987 Lincoln Town Car Cartier Edition 52,909 original miles Exterior: Crystal clearcoat metallic over titanium clearcoat metallic with crystal vinyl coach roof Interior: Oxford gray leather 5.0L 302 V8 SEFI engine AOD automatic 4-speed transmission This is your opportunity to own a truly beautiful car. It’s as close to unmolested as you will find for an 80’s Town Car. I am the second owner of it, acquiring through consignment from the original owners who pampered it. It was originally purchased new from Johnny Haas Lincoln Mercury in Denver, Colorado by a wealthy family and remained there for its life until I purchased it and brought it to Indiana. The car has always been garaged and used sparingly. The car was extremely nice to start with, but I did some minor things to make it even nicer. I have carefully refreshed certain things to maintain originality using NOS parts. You will not find a nicer one than this. I’ll let the photos do the testifying for me. For the discriminating Lincoln collector, this particular car is special because it is a Cartier Edition, which was the top of the line trim level for Town Cars. Additionally, for those that are not aware, 1987 was actually a very short model year as 1988 model year Town Cars began to roll off the line in January 1987. So, finding a 1987 can sometimes be challenging, but finding a 1987 Cartier is nearly unheard of. The exterior of the car is as nice as you can get for a 25 year old car with original paint. It is not perfect, but it is very presentable. If anything, I am under-representing just how nice the car is. There is no fading, it still shines like new. The only item that really needs attention is the rear bumper filler. If the car sells for my Buy It Now price or close to it, I will have that done by the local Ford-Lincoln bodyshop before the car is delivered. At barely 53,000 miles, it is not surprising how good the original paint, chrome and stainless trim looks. There are a few paint chips here and there, but you have to search for them. All of the rubber and trim is in great condition. The vinyl top material is in fantastic shape other than the original threads which have dried out. The top is still perfectly intact without blemishes, but to be 100% show quality, the stitching would need to be re-done. I don’t know of a practical way to have this done. The car originally was equipped with the optional lacey spoke (modified-turbine) aluminum wheels (which were a Lincoln-only option) and they look fantastic with no curb rash. I had the original balancing wheel weights removed from the outside of the rim to avoid damaging the original finish. All of the trim, emblems, etc, are intact and in phenomenal condition. Since this car spent its life in Colorado, there is no rust, rot or corrosion anywhere on the undercarriage or on the body panels. The stainless rocker moldings are in exceptional shape with no dents or dings. The two-tone paint used on the Cartiers says CLASS all the way. Very few other cars can pull off such a statement. The interior of the car is just as nice as the outside. The standard Cartier seats had cloth inserts in the seat upholstery. This car has the optional full leather seat covers and they are in exceptional condition. The carpets are pristine and the original Cartier embroidered floor mats show only minimal wear. Common weak spots on these cars are the vinyl dash cap and the vinyl padded armrests on the door panels. These are normally cracked and dry-rotted from intense heat, sun damage, age and just plain usage. They are perfect on this car. Not one crack anywhere on the front doors. Try finding one of these! The glove box doors are also prone to warping. The one on this car is one of the absolute best that I have seen anywhere. The original leather-wrapped steering wheel still has the original material on it and shows minor wear. The interior B-pillar has some chips from use as I have not been able to locate a replacement as the part is Cartier specific. As for the mechanical condition of this beaut, there are no disappointments. The 5.0L roars to life with the click of the key and purrs effortlessly. The AOD transmission shifts like a new one. I did replace the problematic throttle valve bushing that plagues these cars with the updated Ford brass bushing so there are no worries for that. I have had all of the fluids flushed, replaced the fuel filter, spark plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor, valve cover gaskets, belts, battery, rear original coil springs, power steering lines, coolant hoses, and serviced the PCV system. All of this was done using genuine Motorcraft show-correct parts where possible. The brake system and suspension have been thoroughly inspected and have been given a clean bill of health due to the car’s extremely low mileage. This car also came with the high altitude option package which dictated factory dual exhaust, another very limited production option. The original rear connecting pipes and resonators had corroded so I had them carefully replaced so that the exhaust system is quiet just like a Lincoln should be. I painstakingly emphasized the attention to detail when I had the shop fix this trying to stay as close as possible to the original equipment since the parts are now obsolete. The car still wears its original catalytic converters, H-pipe and mufflers, which are all in great shape. The accessories and options that this car has is mind-boggling. Absolutely everything is in working condition. I reconditioned the A/C system by replacing the drier, orifice tube and all of the system o-rings to ensure a leak-free ICE COLD system. The refrigerant was professionally converted to R-134a and the original compressor hums along freezing anyone right out of the car. The shop who did the refrigerant conversion gave the system a clean bill of health claiming NO LEAKS. Conversion fittings and caps can be easily removed for the show field. The automatic climate control system does a terrific job at maintaining whatever temperature you desire. Set the temperature and let the system work its magic. The optional digital instrument cluster with message center and trip computer was a modern marvel in 1987. Everything displays bright and crisp and response is instantaneous with the press of a button. Also included is an original auto-dimming interior mirror (very rare). The car came equipped with the headlight convenience group which dims the high beams when oncoming traffic is detected, turns on the exterior lights in darkness and also provides a delayed exit feature. Keyless entry, interior illuminated entry, auto locks, illuminated exterior keyholes, power antenna, electric rear defrost, cornering lamps and heated exterior mirrors add to the already long list amongst the standard options such as power locks and power windows (including vents). Dual illuminated visor vanity mirrors and dual power front seats are just a few more niceties. One option not found on much of anything anymore is the electric decklid pull-down. Gently placing the lid within two inches of the closed position results in the motor pulling it the rest of the way down to avoid unsightly slamming. I had the pulldown motor completely rebuilt to ensure years of lasting service. As if the option list wasn’t long enough already, this car also came equipped with the very rare factory auto-leveling suspension system. It employs an air compressor, and two adjustable rear shock absorbers. The system works fantastically and it is all done automatically without any user intervention. Add some weight to the trunk, and the system raises the car to the correct trim height. Remove weight and the car vents to the correct trim height. This is not the same system as used in 90+ Town Cars. Lastly, this car has the optional factory JBL premium audio group with a 140-watt amplifier and 12 speakers placed for the optimal acoustic reproduction. WOW! Factory owner’s manual, two sets of proper Lincoln keys and all of the service/parts receipts since I have owned the car will be included with the purchase. This car will not disappoint. If I do not get a fair price for the car, I am more than satisfied to keep it. The car is happy to sit in my climate-controlled garage when not in use and only gets out on perfect days. As with all cars, I feel like it is time to move on to the next project. I have left my mark on this one and someone deserves to enjoy the fruits of my labor. I have been a Lincoln & Continental Owners Club member for many years and I am always on the hunt for the next beautiful Lincoln. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Inspections are welcomed and encouraged. Car is sold AS-IS. Buyer is responsible for shipping or personal pickup. Clear title is in hand and ready to deliver. Thanks for looking!

The Lincoln Motor Company (also known simply as Lincoln) is a division of the Ford Motor Company that sells luxury vehicles under the Lincoln brand. In a radical change from 1957 Lincolns, the chassis was of unibody construction. Sharing a body with the Continental marque, the 1958–1960 Lincolns would become some of the largest production vehicles ever built; they are the longest Lincolns produced without 5-mph bumpers. They are the longest-wheelbase cars ever produced by Ford Motor Company. For the 1958 model year, a number of changes were made to Lincoln. Along with the integration of Edsel to form the Mercury-Edsel-Lincoln (M-E-L) division, production of all Lincoln and Continental vehicles was shifted to an all new assembly plant.. Showcasing the new assembly plant was a redesigned product lineup. The new V-8 430 cu. in. Ford MEL engine was used in all Lincolns. In 1959, the Town Car name made its first appearance. A formal-roof sedan, it was available only in black. The interior continues the theme of the exterior with the tan/beige leather front split bench seats and rear bench seat and all look great with no major signs of wear visible… still wrapped in plastic protective covers to protect these rare original seats! The door panels and dashboard are designed to match the exterior of the car and look fantastic. This 1 of 136 Lincoln Town Cars built in 1960 features a 430 cu in. 315 hp V8 with a HP 3-speed automatic transmission, factory air conditioning, windshield wipers inoperable, power steering , power brakes, power seats, power windows, power door locks and even dual power antennas! This extremely good looking and well equipped Continental will delight even the most discerning early classic car collector or enthusiast. Believed to be one of only five known to exist, these Lincolns are becoming increasingly hard to find in such solid well kept condition. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!! "2012 is the 25th anniversary of probably the rarest Lincoln ever produced. Now offered for sale: A 1987 Lincoln Towncar Signature Sail America Commemorative Edition. The History: The 1987 America's Cup was the 27th running of the America's cup regatta and the first time in 132 years that it has not been hosted by the New York Yacht Club. To commemorate this challenge Ford Motor Company issued this statement: Ford has joined the stars and stripes campaign to bring America's cup back where it belongs...
