The third generation Camaro\'s continued to us the General Motor\'s F-Body platform and there were several new options like factory fuel injection, four-speed automatic transmissions, five-speed manual transmissions, four-cylinder engines, 16-inch wheels, and hatchback bodies. This 1989 Chevrolet Camaro Iroc-Z has a beautiful glossy red exterior accented with black racing stripes with a flint grey interior. This is a very desirable color and at first look you can tell that this classic Camaro has been very well maintained and garage kept for the majority of its life. The power plant for this 89 Camaro Iroc-Z is a very well built 383 CID V8 Stroker that is linked to a smooth shifting 6 speed manual transmission both with roughly 5,000 miles since being rebuilt. The engine was rebuilt with aluminum heads and a mini-ram air intake both controlled by an OBD 2 computer. This 1989 Chevrolet Camaro Iroc-Z has a few custom upgrades as it is sporting the dash from a 2002 Camaro and the ground effects and high rise spoiler from a 1992 Camaro Z-28. I have owned the car for the last 10 years.Always kept in the garage,never been in snow,I wouldn't even take it out if it looked like it was going to rain. In the last 2 years installed new top, new tires, battery . It was hit in the drivers side front fender a few years ago and I had it repaired and had the whole car painted,came out nice. It needs a few minor things to make the car 100% ,the switch to open the top needs to be replaced(you can still open it manually).A tiny chip on the console corner. A small tear in the drivers seat. The car runs and drives great,never had any problems, replaced an alternator a few years ago,that was it. It gets pretty good mileage for a V8 since its geared so high ( about 60mph with barely touching the gas pedal) . Starts right up after getting vehicle warmed up but needs a tune up because it runs rough and has to be given a little gas on idle when engine is cold. Vehicle has some wear and tear and typical deficiencies of this year and body type of vehicle. Dash has cracking but has a dash cover. Some minor dents and scratches and some peeling paint on fiberglass parts. Interior needs cleaning and weatherstripping replaced. Will need new Vats keys to match ECU resistance since I changed the ignition cylinder or solder in the correct resistors and keep the autozone non resistor pellet Features- Nice chrome wheels, solid body and just an overall cool car with lots of potential and always one of my favorites. Engine has been modified to a 383 according to the previous owner so you can confirm when checking out if you have a compression testing kit. He noted 3 very small chips that went unnoticed by us (Touch up paint is included). Note: one small chip of approximately a half inch has been touched up. Well equipped and in nice shape for the year and mileage this Camaro is meant to be enjoyed and taken on many rides top up or down. White Exterior over Red Interior complimented by a Black Convertible Top. Let's not forget that for the money, this is a lot of car! This 26+ yr old runs well and performs as it should with plenty of get up and go. Completely tuned and runs great. 1 year warranty on recent service. The Interior as is typical with most convertibles has some sun bleaching but nothing that would stick out as poor rating for this car. Surprisingly enough the vinyl surfaces are not brittle and in great shape. Exterior paint has plenty of shine though it has a few scratches and chips here and there. Stripes and pinstriping are a bit worn but typical with a classic. Great Looks and an Iconic nameplate that is well regarded then and well known today. The package included an improved suspension, decal package, and a 305 cubic-inch L98 Tuned Port Injection system borrowed from the Corvette. The IROC-Z was featured on Car and Driver magazine's Ten Best List for 1985. The L69 small-block engine was offered from 1983 through 1986. The LB9 small-block was introduced in 1985; the L98 small-block was introduced in 1987; the LO3 was introduced in 1988. The LB9, L98, and LO3 stayed in production until 1992. The third generation Camaro was produced from 1982 through 1992. The all-new 1982 Camaro was shorter and lighter that now had a fastback appearance with a large, compound-curved window. For 1989, Chevrolet produced 83,487 examples of the RS Camaro, 20,067 of the IROC-Z Coupe, and 3,940 of the IROC-Z Convertible. 111 examples of the IROC-Z were fitted with the optional 1LE competition package.
