While we still have full-sized 4x4 pickups, this 1989 GMC Jimmy represents a kind of vehicle that just doesn\'t exist anymore: the full-sized 2-door SUV. With great looks, awesome off-road capabilities, and the kind of brawn that only full-sized trucks can deliver, maybe it\'s something we should revisit. This big, white bruiser is one of those well-preserved trucks that could have led a hard life, but didn\'t. Instead, it appears to have spent a majority of its time on the smooth pavement and working as a regular vehicle, which means that there are no dirty secrets waiting within. The repaint in factory white gives it a bright, clean look and finish quality is good enough to make this Jimmy get the thumbs-up on the road without making you afraid to use it as-intended. The Jimmy wasn\'t all that different from the Blazer; it was mostly grille and trim, but when it comes down to rarity, the Blazer outsold the Jimmy by about six-to-one, so that makes this 4x4 a neat find. A matching white top, nice chrome bumpers, and a bit of bright trim make it look stylish without diminishing the clean, chiseled lines. Tinted windows look great, too, particularly against the white paint, giving it a purposeful look and protecting the cargo within. The contrasting burgundy interior is a great look in the white truck, and with buckets and a console, it\'s sporty not merely practical like a pickup truck would be. That\'s 100% original upholstery in there, suggesting this truck has been very well-maintained throughout its life, and the seats in particular are in excellent condition. A Sun Pro tach was strapped to the steering column in hot-rod fashion, while the rest of the gauges are factory-original. Options include cold A/C, power windows and locks, cruise control, and a tilt column, so it\'s ideal for use every day or for road trips with your friends. A newer AM/FM/CD/iPod stereo has been stuffed into the dash and sounds great and the back seat is big enough for three so no worries about taking everyone with you. You\'ll also notice that the cargo bay will handle all your gear and includes a full-sized spare tire. There fewer than 5000 miles on the rebuilt 350 cubic inch V8 and 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission, so no worries about taking this Jimmy someplace remote. It\'s mostly stock save for the open-element Edelbrock air cleaner and a set of long-tube headers, so reliability is uncompromised from factory stock. They wisely chose to keep modifications to a minimum because this truck isn\'t about all-out horsepower but about going new places without worries, and in that regard it definitely works well. The overdrive transmission means that it\'s comfortable on the highway and with a 2-speed transfer case feeding both axles, traction and climbing ability are impressive. The suspension has been augmented with a modest lift and twin Flowmaster mufflers give it a great V8 rumble that fits it perfectly. Cool custom aluminum wheels with 35x12.50-15 Mickey Thompson off-road radials help with the broad-shouldered look and are a good choice for a truck that\'ll see pavement duty as well as fun in the dirt. Nicely finished and ready to rock, this cool Jimmy needs to be preserved so future generations can see just how good we had it back in the \'80s. Call today! Up for sale here is a '89 S10 Blazer 2-DOOR 4x4. See issues above. If you made it this far, please continue. Don't let it's looks deceive you. As they say, "Chrome don't get ya home!" THOUSANDS of dollars, and probably 1,000 hours of labor have been spent on getting it mechanically perfect. I would drive this thing to California right now without hesitation if asked to do so. That said, it does need minor mechanical work to be perfect. More on that later. First, the GOOD: It has a 4.3 V6 (RPO code L35) out of a 2000 GMC Jimmy SLE with an Edelbrock carburetor and intake manifold. No computers or electronics anywhere. Reliable and EASY to fix!! It uses the '00 radiator, engine mounts, fan, and aluminum transmission lines most of the way back until 6" from the transmission, where they are stepped down to the OEM sized zinc coated steel lines. The original fuel pump and the pressure regulator I had run previously with the carb were removed (chasing a fuel problem when it was a chinese eBay ignition parts problem), and a marine grade reciprocating fuel pump (Walboro FRB-13) with a 1,000 hour salt spray rating, and a claimed 10k hour PLUS lifespan was installed in it's place. The engine is AWESOME. Throttle response is amazing. Always starts right up whether it's -8°F or 95°F. Wife got over 17mpg with snow tires, cold weather, and the terrible ethanol-diluted winter-blend fuel the state of MA is required to sell. Just about the same as the fuel injection got in the Jimmy when it was running! Super reliable! Also has a 600w block heater for super fast warm up during the winter months. Everything was done right with no shortcuts taken. Internally the engine was super clean when I had the heads & intake off. The transmission fluid looked fairly clean from the day I bought it, maybe slighly dark. A Sonnax TV cable corrector linkage was installed with the new carburetor in '11, & the cable was CORRECTLY adjusted. I threw a new filter in back around the same time. No problems whatsoever with the transmission other than a harsh 1-2 upshift when cold. In the 6 years we've owned it, nothing has changed in the way it operates. It shifts fast and firm in all gears, which is great for longevity. Pan was nearly spotless when I did the filter. Fluid still looks decent, and no slipping, even with the tremendous boost in power the newer engine brought. I am very tempted to keep this truck around just for the driveline ... Bought in '09 out of NY, I built the truck in '10 & '11 for my wife to commute over 70 miles per day during the winter months, so her summer car wouldn't rust. Since it's intended purpose was winter use, EVERY nut & bolt that I removed was coated with anti-seize compound, as were the backs of the aluminum wheels where they mate up with the steel hubs & studs. Extra grounds were run, and dielectric grease was used on every connection. It's as reliable as a stone ax. No electronics to mess with. It can be tuned, repaired and adjusted with just basic hand tools. Everything works as it did from the factory (cruise control, torque converter lockup, oil pressure gauge). This is a mechanic's dream vehicle! Rotors (new in '10) turned with new front brakes, new tailpipe, & new greaseable universal joints front and rear were installed at the beginning of last season ('14). Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and a complete new HEI control unit, ignition coil, pickup coil, and terminal block with condenser were installed in '13. Head gaskets, oil pump, oil pan gaskets, timing cover gaskets, crank seal, valve seals, intake and exhaust gaskets, & rear main seal, & new fuel pump (Walboro FRB-13) were all done in '12. Upper and lower ball joints, new rotors, new inner & outer tie rod ends, pitman and idler arms, passenger side CV axle, torsion bar bushings, radiator, belts, pulleys, & a new fuel tank were done in '10. Rear brakes were done in '09. All lights work. Wipers work on high, low, and intermittent, as does the washer fluid spray. Emergency brake works. Power windows, door locks, overdrive lockup, and cruise control all work. It drives STRAIGHT, even after the minor collision with a guardrail my wife had. All the damage was cosmetic. The core support should have been shimmed in hindsight to fix that gap you see up top. Steering column was disassembled, and the notorious 4 Torx bolts in the back were removed, red Loctite was applied, & they were all retorqued, so they will NEVER loosen up again. At that time, a multifunction switch was installed from my old '91 S10 Blazer I had prior, to repair the turn signals and wiper function. Instrument panel was removed and all bulbs that were not working were replaced. There's probably 300 other things I've forgotten to mention. I have a manilla folder CHUCK FULL of receipts and little notes on the front about parts, thread pitch and sizes, part numbers, brands, VIN #, bulb #'s, etc. What it needs, or could use: Paint and body work, obviously. Normally I rattle-can the rusty spots each fall, but I figured I'd leave everything untouched, so you can see the real condition of the body.A steering box to tighten up the steering a bit. This is very subjective - if your used to modern vehicles, the steering will scare you. If you've owned old cars your whole life, it's not a big deal. Some think it's terrible ... others think there's nothing wrong at all! All of the steering components have been replaced over the past 5 years, so the box would be the only thing needed to get rid of the slop in the wheel.Rear wheel cylinders. There is no fluid in the rear portion of the master. Brakes still work great even with the rears not working. I would do a full rear brake job.Interior repairs, like the headliner re-glued, repair or replace the HVAC control mount, & glove compartment cover.Tires for winterFront differential repair for 4x4 engagement. The vacuum system and diaphragm, & the transfer case are all working great. The light even comes on indicating 4x4, but there is no connection between front driveshaft and front wheels. I WILL INCLUDE A '00 JIMMY FRONT DIFFERENTIAL ASSEMBLY (same truck engine came from) TO USE FOR PARTS! FREE!!! Shims under core support, to close gap top to bottom of fender to hood.As she sits, it runs and drives no problem. The above repairs would all be optional EXCEPT the brakes. Now, in this day and age, I have to mention ... this is a 26 year old vehicle, and it MAY need a few things that I did NOT mention in this ad. Please bear that in mind BEFORE PURCHASE. Bottom line is, she might not be pretty, but she'll get you home without fail. With a little effort this would make an AWESOME off road machine, daily driver, farm truck, survival vehicle - you name it! For any questions, don't hesitate to email me through eBay's mail system - it goes right to my inbox, and I will check it a few times a day. I will entertain best offers for a while, so don't wait. I can't afford to keep throwing $30.60 a week at eBay to keep this thing listed. Lowball offers will be refused without a response or counteroffer. Be reasonable. If it doesn't sell in 3 weeks, I'll drain the fuel tank and carb, oil everything down and park it out back until another project comes my way. So, you've got 3 weeks from 9/19/15 to make a decision. After that, you won't see this truck again. Delivery available on an open flatbed trailer anywhere in the Continental USA for $1.05 per mile as measured by Mapquest from my address to yours - must be paid in full before my wheels turn. I CAN LEAVE IMMEDIATELY THE FOLLOWING MORNING. NO MAJOR CITY DELIVERIES - you'll have to meet me in a suburb along a major highway in that case. I will NOT enter NYC, or even a 40 mile radius of it, no matter how much money you throw at me! Don't bother to ask - WON'T HAPPEN. If you live there, you'll have to meet me in Connecticut. If this is a problem, save us both the trouble and find another vehicle. Everything mentioned here was explained to the best of my knowledge. I do NOT deliberately deceive or defraud people - I pride myself in honesty and integrity, even if it costs me a sale. See my feedback and buy with confidence. **Feedback will be left ONLY AFTER it is left for me.** THANKS for looking & have a good one!

**BUY IT NOW GETS ALL ADDITIONAL PARTS mentioned below FREE!** Read description below for details. Up for sale here is an UNRESTORED Chevy S-10 Blazer. 2 door, four wheel drive, power windows & door locks. A factory A/C vehicle, but the compressor & condenser have been removed. TITLE CLEAR, UNTOUCHED, & IN HAND. No games! This truck has been a great daily winter driver for my wife who commutes 70 miles a day. No expense has been spared mechanically over the 4 years we've owned this one. We drove it 3 out of those 4 years - one season it remained parked because we had another winter vehicle. Bought this off eBay in '10 with 77k miles indicated. Engine was totally worn out - something the seller neglected to mention. We managed to get a year out of it before adding a quart of oil every 50 miles started to get expensive. A 2000 GMC Jimmy engine was installed in '11. Electronics free Vortec engine for superior reliability. The engine has had EVERY single gasket and seal replaced - I mean EVERYTHING, along with a OEM volume Melling oil pump, & a Crane timing chain & gear set. This engine will be set for years. Amsoil Z-Rod 10w-30 has been in it since the swap. Had 145k miles on it at the swap, and gaskets/seals oil pump and timing set were done around 155k (yes, the engine was out twice) - engine has about 165 - 175k on it now. Has a brand new HEI distributor, upgraded just last month with all brand new Echlin components (5yr/50k mile warranty) from NAPA. An Edelbrock Performer intake and 1405 manual choke carburetor was installed in '11 when the engine was installed. New water pump, and alternator in '11. The carb is fed by a marine grade Walboro reciprocating pump, drawing through the old EFI pump hardware, minus the pump itself. This pump has a 1,000 hour salt spray rating, and is rated for a 10,000 hour life span. It was installed in '13! Many, many years left in that one. I used the '00 Jimmy aluminum transmission lines, then stepped them down with adapters to OEM size just before they enter the tranny. All belt driven accessories are off the original '89 engine. The fan only is off the '00 - clutch and water pump are '89 style. New radiator in '12 ('00 model with tabs ground off bottom).Have a folder packed with receipts, and notes written on the front of the folder with part numbers and repair instructions for certain components. All parts are readily available - nothing was custom made. Equipped with a 600W block heater for winter! Works great! The exhaust is nothing fancy - there are NO HEADERS or loud mufflers that attract the attention of the cops. Muffler was from Advance Auto and has a lifetime warranty. Has the stock '00 manifolds and '89 Y pipe. It's relatively quiet when compared to most performance vehicles. I didn't build it for performance - just reliability, but as an added bonus, this thing does perform! Never towed with it, but I wouldn't hesitate to tow a 5,000 lb trailer with this thing - it would pull it and even more no problem. Very torquey and fun to drive! Has a 700r4 transmission, and 3.42 gears in the G80 rear end, and in the front. Got 16-17 MPG around town consistently all winter long with Firestone Winterforce tires, and the terrible winter blend fuel with ethanol up here in Massachusetts. The entire front end (minus control arm bushings) was redone in '10 with all Moog components. The rubber torsion bar mounts were also replaced with Moog. New passenger side CV axle, Edelbrock shocks, and new front rotors, pads, calipers, hoses, and copper-nickel brake lines finished the job. New exhaust in '11, front to back. New fuel tank by previous owner in '10. All the lights, the e-brake, horn, wipers, washer pump, factory cruise control, gauges, and lockup converter all work as they did before. Passes MA inspection no problem. Sticker good until November. Currently registered and being driven, so miles listed will go up. During the engine swap and front end work, just about every single nut and bolt was wire wheeled clean, and coated with anti-seize compound. All electrical connections coated with dielectric compound. Extra grounds were run from the engine to the body, and engine to frame. Was built with salty winters in mind - I did NOT want my wife on the side of the road in the dark. Everything was done right, and with care. The body is ok condition for it's age. Rockers are just starting to rot behind the front wheels. Doors are starting to rot underneath. No dents or dings anywhere. Some rusty spots have been touched up by rattlecan. Great 20 foot truck. Undercarriage is in above average shape. I oiled it down before every winter. If your expecting a show piece, then you'll be disappointed. What this is, is an excellent daily driver that you won't have to worry about parking. This thing always fires right up and is a blast to drive. The throttle response and torque of this V6 is amazing! You'd swear there's a 305 or a 350 under the hood. Just a few issues - the front u-joint is starting to go (just found receipt - they have a LIFETIME WARRANTY from Advance Auto). They are the non-greaseable type. You can feel it vibrate under load only. The other issue is an internal 4x4 engagement problem in the front differential. The entire vacuum system has been replaced and is working perfectly. No issues with the transfer case either. We drove it all this winter in 2x4 without a problem - the Winterforce tires work great! 4-low still works (still no 4x4 though). Front driveshaft spins, but will not engage the front axles. I have an entire front differential out of the same '00 Jimmy the engine came out of - has 3.42's inside to match this Blazer (GU6). That will be available to the buyer upon request for extra (FREE for Buy It Now). The internals are nearly the same. You could use it for parts, or just install the entire assembly .. but that would require different CV axles and spindles. I also have the upper and lower control arms off that '00 Jimmy, if you wanted to convert the front end with that new differential. The last notable issue is the crap Dorman remote oil filter lines are leaking after only 3 years of use. I have an adapter I just ordered that will eliminate that entire OEM remote setup, and use a smaller filter under the truck instead of the remote location on the driver's side wheel well. Have to add a quart every 2,000 miles or so as is. I will include the adapter and a bag of 5 Purolator Pure One filters for it FREE to the BUY IT NOW buyer. If your not mechanically inclined, you probably will not appreciate what this truck is. It's not prone to frequent break-downs, but some mechanical knowledge would certainly be helpful with the way this one is set up. It's a mechanics DREAM - the way cars used to be. Simple, cheap, and does what it's supposed to without ANY computers. Repairs, maintenance and adjustments can be done with simple hand tools that anyone can afford. Keep in mind, the interior is also UNRESTORED. That means stains, a sagging headliner, broken dash components, squeaks, rattles, etc. It's 25 years old after all - know what you are buying. Not trying to get all my money and labor back - I know how that works. I've got THOUSANDS of hours of labor into this truck! Not to mention the parts. Someone is going to get a great deal here. There's vehicles half this old that have more problems, and cost more money! If it was up to me, I'd keep this one. I know I'm going to regret selling it ... Truck is for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end this ad at any time. Thanks for looking & have a good one!
