I am not getting the engine fixed as I have moved on to a CRZ and the buyer may be interested in replacing it with a different engine.

It is time for me to move on from this car. I purchased this car two years ago, and it was in rough shape to say the least. Everything works as it should besides the AC. I have replaced the compressor, evap core, expansion valve, drier, and it will cool very well for about 3 weeks. After that, the Freon has all leaked back out. I was told that a shop could put in a dye that would help locate the small leak, but I have not gotten around to it. The previous owner wrecked the car a few years back in California, and I have the paperwork for it. The right fender, and the bumper was replaced. But it was considered a total loss So the title is a salvage title. The body of this crx has 269,000 on it. Back in 2010 a shop in California installed a sohc zc with 45k on it, along with a new flywheel and clutch. I believe that I still have that paperwork as well. In the two years that I have had it, I have replaced a good bit of stuff. I will try and list them all. Low and behold after almost a year of searching nationwide I came across this amazing low mileage gem in Central California!! This Silver CRX Si was originally owned by a sprightly 90+ year old woman in Richmond, CA. who used to Auto-Cross her cars(..fortunately this CRX was not AutoX'd, just her grocery getter!!). She adored her CRX and she religiously maintained & serviced it as evidenced by the service records included with the purchase. Unfortunately she just could no longer cope with the manual shifting at her advanced age so she had to let her beloved CRX go.. It was subsequently sold to her close friend who lived in same the area. Unfortunately he was a large 6-foot plus man with lower back pain issue.. as much as he loved and enjoyed the little CRX he just could not drive it without severe pain in his lower back so he decided to let it go. So I purchased a 1-way plane ticket to San Francisco Airport and picked up this amazing CRX Si, WooHoo!!! :-) Let me tell you the drive back to my home in Las Vegas was the most amazing and fun trip I've had in years!! From San Francisco area I took the 101 Freeway all the way down to beautiful Monterey, CA. I meandered through the famed Pebble Beach 17-mile drive enjoying the beautiful Ocean scenery and the tranquil drive.. Everywhere I went I got countless 'thumbs-up' and people coming up and complimenting the 'Rex whenever stopped at the red light or pumping gas! Next came my absolute favorite part of my road trip, the iconic Pacific Coast Highway 1.. the most scenic, twisting mountain roadway that hugs the Pacific Coast ocean for 150 miles all the way down to Morro Bay, CA. I'm telling you this amazing CRX Si drove and handled every bit like it came off the assembly line back in 1989. Absolutely no rattles or shakes, super tight steering with no shimmy or play whatsoever, the buttery smooth Honda 5-speed transmission shifted like a dream with perfect clutch uptake allowing me to whip out effortless 'Heel-n-Toe' downshifts and upshifts throughout the twisty PCH drive!! I must've looked like a mental patient with a HUGE Sh*t-eating grin throughout the entire drive down the coast to Southern California to my parent's home!!! From there I drove through the beautiful desert on Highway 15 all the way back to my home in Las Vegas, NV.. again a flawless drive averaging 75mph with a few jaunts over 90+ mph on empty stretches of straight highway. Oh and this is important because back in the day 'Air Conditioning' was an option on most cars including the CRX, my CRX Si is equipped from the factory with factory cold A/C and I ran it throughout my epic 700+ miles drive home!! I've seen a lot of CRX's on eBay without A/C so this is an important option and a nice bonus!! So I've owned my Baby since early 2011, always garaged and hooked up to a battery tender. Started, warmed up properly, and driven around my neighborhood every few weeks to keep it primed. As you can see aside from my 700+ miles that I initially put on the odometer for my drive home from Bay area Cali to Las Vegas, my Baby has been a garage Queen.. I just can't bring myself to drive it over past the 40,000 odometer mile mark... Full widebody kit shell is in excellent condition no rust at all, clean dash, runs and drives good 'could be driven as a daily driver as it sits, every single light works and is in good shape, spoon seats, aftermarket steering wheel, full exhaust system, ROTA wheels, Brand new radiator, TONS of extra pars: doors bumpers hood full sets of interior lights fenders etc. the engine bay is completely unmolested it hasn't even been hosed off with degreaser! body kit is installed pretty subpar in most areas, will need lots more work to get smooth or you could just tear it off and have a normal crx body although i can not attest if the panels are any good underneath as i bought it with the bodykit installed, needs to be painted or rattlecanned "in dark gray primer atm", passenger door needs the handle and lock switched out "parts included" needs wheel spacers to fill out the fenders. First of all I'd like to clarify this Crx is not a toy and is far from its original stock form. It's highly modified and lightning fast and built for an experienced enthusiast and driver. It was put together at ILL Garage in Villa Park, IL where the parts were purchased new and the labor/tuning was completed. My friend and I oversaw and made decisions on the direction of this build and we have over 45 years experience between us. We aren't teenagers. About five years ago the Crx was located in a state or disrepair and was rescued, stripped, and the build began. I believe it was originally black but was also gray metallic at one point and now gray. New quarters and rocker panels were welded on. It's a solid body with some rust still non structural on one floor pan. The interior was upgraded to some 90-91 parts. And of course the original drivetrain was removed and swapped out. After all the work was completed the car has only been driven 1300 miles or less, the parts are all in very good condition. It was never taken to the track or beat on. It was driven fast on occasion but mostly driven on cruise nights. I will attempt to list the parts and highlights of the car but I will probably miss some things since the list is long. The motor and transmission were purchased at Hmotors through ILL Garage, which I have a receipt for, but not the actual paperwork from Hmotors. When it was tuned it put down between 400-450 whp on around 12-16 psi. Personally the car has so much power I would recommend retuning it at closer to 300 whp for more drivability which would still be insanely quick. Within the past few months the prop valve has developed a leak which is an inexpensive part to replace, $30-$40. Unfortunately with a busy work schedule and upcoming move the Crx sits and this is the reason it is for sale. All told there are thousands invested and a reserve set at about half of that. This is a 1991 Honda CRX Si with 215873 miles. I bought this car from the original owner after it had been sitting 11 years and I have not put very many miles on it since. The motor has been professionally rebuilt with new piston rings, bearings, and seals from top to bottom. It also has a brand new timing belt and water pump and a new clutch, pressure plate, and throw out bearing. The engine and transmission are the original to the car. The interior is in very good condition, there are no rips or tears in the seats, dash, or door panels. There is some wear on the rear storage bin area but the cargo cover is intact. The exterior does have some dents and dings and the red paint has seen better days. The front bumper is original but has been repainted recently and the rear bumper has some scratches. There is a larger dent on the driver side door, a smaller one on the passenger door, and some decent scratches on the hood and passenger fender. You can also see a small amount of surface rust around the gas door and the driver side rear fender. I have done my best to show all the damage in the pictures. There is no stereo in the car and it was never equipped with A/C but the heat does work. PLEASE LOOK OVER THE PICTURES CAREFULLY BEFORE BIDDING! I HAVE DONE MY BEST TO DESCRIBE DAMAGE! This car is not perfect but it is 99.9% complete and mechanically sound. This would be a great daily driver or restoration project since there wouldn't be much to do other than paint.
