I HAVE OWNED MY TOWNCAR FOR ABOUT 12 YEARS. I BOUGHT IT FROM AN OLD LADY WHO WAS MOVING TO FLORIDA AND ACTUALLY MY CO-WORKERS AUNT. SHE BOUGHT IT WHEN IT WAS ABOUT 2 YEARS OLD FROM SOMEONE IN LONG ISLAND. I HAVE ALL THE PAPER WORK AND EVEN THE ORIGINAL PURCHASE RECEIPT.I'VE TAKE VERY GOOD CARE OF IT SINCE I HAVE IT. ALWAYS USED SYNTHETIC 10W30 AND QUALITY FILTERS. THE ENGINE RUNS AS SMOOTH AS IT SHOULD. THE TRANSMISSION IS PERFECT AS WELL. IT WAS REPLACED ABOUT 5 YEARS AGO WITH A WELL REBUILT ONE. THE ISSUE WITH THE ORIGINAL ONE WAS THE IT HAD AN INTERNAL CRACK IN THE CASE SO THE INTERNAL PRESSURE WAS LOW CAUSING IT TO SLIP ON HIGH TORQUE DEMAND. SO THIS ONE RUNS PERFECT.SO HERE ARE THE NEWEST PARTS LIST:JUST REPLACED THE BATTERY WITH TOP OF THE LINE AUTO ZONE ONE.RADIATOR REPLACED WITHIN THE LAST 2 YEARS - COOLS VERY WELL.THE FAN CLUTCH ALSO REPLACED ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO WITH A HEAVY DUTY ONE.WITHIN APROX. 5K MILES ALL BRAKES WERE REPLACED.OIL WAS JUST CHANGED INCLUDING A PCV FILTER.JUST HAD A NEW YORK INSPECTION SO IT'S GOOD FOR ANOTHER YEAR.SPARK PLUGS WERE REPLACED WITH BOSCH PLATINUM ABOUT 10K MILES AGO.I HAVE INSTALLED A NICE TRANSMISSION COOLER.THE A/C WORKS WELL BUT NEEDS TO BE CHARGED AS I HAVE TO ADD ABOUT 1 LB OF 134A EVERY 2 YEARS, A VERY SMALL LEAK.THE STARTER AND ALTERNATOR WERE REPLACED WITH LIFETIME WARRANTY ONES FROM AUTO ZONE WITHIN THE LAST 2 YEARS APPROXIMATELY.REAR TIRES ARE VERY NICE, BUT FRONTS ARE GETTING OLDER THEY HAVE ABOUT 10K LEFT ON THEM.THE CAR TRACKS STRAIGHT AHEAD AND THERE ARE NO SHAKES OR SHIMMIES AT ANY SPEED.THE KEYLESS ENTRY WORKS AS WELL AS THE AUTO HEADLIGHTS AND THE AUTO HIGH BEAMS WORK TOO.CRUISE CONTROL AND RADIO CASSETTE WORK TOO.THIS CAR IS VIRTUALLY RUST FREE ESPECIALLY ON THE UNDERCARRIAGE AND THE WHEEL WELLS.I CAN'T REMEMBER ALL THE DETAILS WHICH I WOULD HAVE WANTED TO TALK ABOUT SO PLEASE DON'T HESITATE TO AS ME ANYTHING YOU'D LIKE. Shortly after I bought the car I had the top replaced with an alligator print vinyl and the same with the headliner. The car does need some transmission work as the trans now only has 1st and 2nd gear along with reverse. The A/C blows cold and I replaced the battery and alternator as well.

I am the second owner of this 1989 Lincoln Town Car, good drive train, new master cylinder. Dual exhaust in goodcondition, Trailer-hitch with two inserts, 2"ball and 1 7/8" ball. Car came equipped with transmission cooler. All four tires are about seven months old. New Control-Arm bushingsand front end alignment two years ago. Although this car will bereliable transportation, it is more of a project car due to these punch-list maintenance items:1989 Lincoln Town Car VIN: 1LNBM81F0KY786400Maintenance Punch-list items: #1. Radio does not play#2. Also, all speakers need to be replaced#3. Cruise Control does not function#4. Heater puts out almost no heat, a Ford $75+ plasticauto thermostat needs to be replaced, takes ten minutes,must unscrew and lift the dash cover and install above the glove box #5. Auto-fan speed on A/C does not function (fan works at different speeds per using manual switch).#6. Front seat in driver’s position needs immediate re-upholstery.Tear on front seat beginning on passenger side.#7. Left rear door does not open from outside as latch-linkage hascome apart. Requires removal of interior door skin to access.#8. Right front door needs skin removed and re-aligned linkageto correct binding that prevents this door from locking.#9. Left and right rear doors need interior skin removedto replace both window regulators and to replace lock solenoids.#10. Trunk auto-cinch motorized latch needs to be replaced. Have been using trunk with customary manual key access/unlock.#11. Cloth-skin on headliner has been removed (usually goes unnoticed).
