I am the second owner of this 944. I bought it off a friend of mine that lived in the neighborhood, who was the original owner since new. I bought it with about 130,000 miles on it, and it has just under 160,000 miles on it now. I got it as a "weekend" pleasure car, and as such it doesn't get driven nearly as much as my daily driver. I've taken pride in the car, and I believe it shows in it's condition. I've done the regular service and maintenance on this car, which is listed in the ad. It is in excellent condition. It is an original California car, purchased new from Porsche of Beverly Hills, so it has no rust or corrosion issues. It passed it's recent smog test without a problem. The car is a pleasure to drive, with one of the most comfortable driving positions in any Porsche and one of the best shifting manual transmissions in the world. If you're familiar with the 944, it's widely regarded as one of the best handling cars ever made. Everything works on the car, including the sunroof and A/C. The Alpine stereo was installed by the previous owner, and sounds great. The car is a solid investment, and the value of 944's have steadily increased over the last 10 years. I honestly hate to sell the car, but my current residence has no covered or indoor parking. I refuse to park this car out on the street as it deserves better than that, so it's best that I sell it to an owner that will take care of it as I did. The 1989 - 1991 944 Turbo's were the most powerful versions with 250HP and 258 lb-ft of torque. This 1989 944 Turbo has been meticulously cared for by the previous owner(s) and is now being cared for and maintained by the Porsche Factory Trained Classic Technicians of Porsche Colorado Springs. The Guards Red paint shows like new with a clear mask installed on the front bumper and partial hood, fenders, mirrors, door edges, and quarter panels. The Black partial leather interior also shows like new with no wear marks on the front seats or handled surfaces such as the steering wheel and gear shifter. The 944 Turbo has been recently inspected and serviced by Master Porsche Classic Technician, Dave Petitti of Porsche Colorado Springs. The first owner is unknown. The second owner of the 944 Turbo lived in Phoenix, Arizona and was an active PCA concours judge in the Phoenix and Tucson areas. The second owner reported the car had been partially repainted prior to his ownership. The owner believed there was damage to the left rear quarter panel and that area of the car was repaired and repainted. The 2012 service included timing and balance shaft belts, idler pulleys and tensioners, replacement of fuel hose from rail to damper, replacement of fuel hoses from body to fuel rail, replacement of the A/C and Alternator belt, and replacement of the power steering belt. A copy of the service ticket from the service has been provided. Tires were replaced in March of 2013 and a clear mask was installed in 2013. I bought this car about 10 years ago for $3,800 with the intent to rebuild it. It's the model that was in all of the 80's movies so my imagination ran wild. However, life got in the way and the rebuild never happened. Now, I need the garage space. I bought it off of a fighter pilot that was being relocated to the West Coast and his wife wanted it gone. That's all I know of the history other than it was titled at one time in Hawaii and it has Washington plates. I never titled or attempted to register the vehicle. I don't have the title and will give you a bill of sale. You will need to get a bonded title which costs a few hundred bucks. Or you can part it out. The interior, aside from dust, is in restorable shape. I would drive it around the block every few weeks until about 2 years ago when my laziness took over. It will start back up with a jump and will run rough. I'm more than happy to answer any questions you may have about the car. Fully documented car in excellent condition. The 1989 Turbo is the same as the S package offered in 1988, but in the USA all the optional S items became standard for 1989. The ROW (rest of world) cars were still designated as an S in 1989.We bought this car from the second owner last year, who had owned it since 2000. The original owner resided in Virginia, and both of them serviced the car regularly and kept meticulous records. We have every receipt since new, including the original window sticker.We sold the car to a client in Massachusetts, who put about 500 miles on it, and decided he wanted a 911 Turbo, so we happily bought this car back.The car is all up to date on service, having received a new clutch and rear main seal in 2012, and a full service in 2011 (55,425 miles), including cam and balance belts, tensioners, a/d compressor, accessory belts, and fluids. We just had the belts re-tensioned at the same shop who did the major service, and who has been servicing the car since 2000.The car also has new Bridgestone Potenza RE11 tires all around, in the proper sizes.This is a clean, excellent condition example of an increasingly sought-after model. The front valence, hood, and fenders at one point were resprayed to address stone chips, but all factory VIN tags are in place on every panel - the car has never had any bodywork and all panels are original. The interior is fundamentally perfect with no bolster wear, no cracks in the dash, and minimal overall wear. The car is fundamentally stock with a few very minor variations, including a front Racing Dynamics strut tower brace, a later-year Porsche CDR-3 head unit, and an aftermarket replacement trunk cargo cover. The engine, suspension, exhaust, and brakes are all original and unmodified. The car is mechanically sound with no deferred maintenance and no immediate needs. The production numbers of these 951S models are extremely low, with only 1,915 models entering the U.S. market. Compared to the earlier Turbos, the Turbo S models were boasting a larger turbo, more powerful engine with 250 hp, higher boost and reworked DME. They also came with an external oil cooler. These engines were hand built in Zuffenhausen, and bench tested for 30 minutes, before installation. The suspension, was no less the M-030 Sport suspension, with adjustable Sport Bilstein's, larger front and rear sway bars, and sport suspension bushings. The transaxle, was the race version 5-speed, with the M-220 40% locking differential, with its own oil cooler. Brakes were right off the 928 S-4, ventilated rotors with 4 piston calipers, and hooked up to the most advanced generation Bosch ABS. They also were built with a larger 63 amp/hr battery. This 1989 Turbo S is in pristine condition, with service records from day 1. Emanating its red glare, the original paint is absolutely gorgeous. All the rubber seals and trims are fresh, and there is not a ding or scratch anywhere on the paint. The black interior is gorgeous as well, with the leather seats still retaining their crisp appearance. All the electrical instruments and gadgets work, and the A/C blows cold as it has been recently fully recharged. Performance wise, this Turbo S is one of the best balanced high performance cars of its era. At full throttle, it’s an absolute rush mixed in with a satisfying feel of the whole car working. It sits firm on the road and corners with ease. The braking is solid and the car stops right on cue. There is no question that the 944 Turbo S is one of the best handling Porsches of all time! The production numbers of these 951S models are extremely low, with only 1,915 models entering the U.S. market. Compared to the earlier Turbos, the Turbo S models were boasting a larger turbo, more powerful engine with 250 hp, higher boost and reworked DME. They also came with an external oil cooler. These engines were hand built in Zuffenhausen, and bench tested for 30 minutes, before installation. The suspension, was no less the M-030 Sport suspension, with adjustable Sport Bilstein's, larger front and rear sway bars, and sport suspension bushings. The transaxle, was the race version 5-speed, with the M-220 40% locking differential, with its own oil cooler. Brakes were right off the 928 S-4, ventilated rotors with 4 piston calipers, and hooked up to the most advanced generation Bosch ABS. They also were built with a larger 63 amp/hr battery. This 1989 Turbo S is in pristine condition, with service records from day 1. Emanating its red glare, the original paint is absolutely gorgeous. All the rubber seals and trims are fresh, and there is not a ding or scratch anywhere on the paint. The black interior is gorgeous as well, with the leather seats still retaining their crisp appearance. This is a 1989 Porsche 944 S2, 3.0L, 16 valve dual-cam, 4cyl. Last month I did the, Timing belt, pulleys, seals, gears, water pump, thermostat, plugs, Hoses, and flushed the coolant system, Redline oil and filter. Everything has been properly sorted with true Porsche parts... The interior is near perfect for its age... This car has every power option Porsche had to offer, and everything works! The paint is in decent shape for 26 years old but not perfect! There is some crazing of the clear coat on the flat surfaces. The body has the typical dents and dings for 26 yr's old. Very straight, All body gaps are perfect! The undercarriage has never been abused. Even the bat-wing, and plastic diffuser under the engine are in perfect shape. I fitted new Koni adjustable shocks, sway bars, and drilled rotor's. This car runs and drives excellent, and comes with over $15k in receipts and paper work.... After doing all the maintenance I drove it for 400 miles and decided that she's far to nice of a car for going to the track. So now it needs a new home. These cars are hitting the market right now! I bought this car in 2003, i am 3rd owner, Odometer reading when i bought it 123,881.Went to car fax for info on car all was good.At 127,022 i replaced with all new timming belt kit.NOTE at 181.000 replace with new timming belt kit. At 144.000 miles i had the head rebuilt with lifters , new head gaskets etc.. Also it has new radiator, water pump and all new A/C parts. It has been undercoated, all 4 good tires. Hello, what I have for sale is a very rare car indeed. I am selling a 1989 Porsche 944 Turbo S. The car is in excellent condition. It is black on black. Car runs like a bat out of hell new car like it just left Stuggart Germany. Porsche only made 1385 of these cars for 1989. It was the last year they made these car for North America, but one more year in other countries. I am the 4th owner of this vehicle and I have all the service records since new. I've own this car since June of 1995. The car has never seen rain or snow under my ownership. This car spent most of it's life in a garage since I've owned it. Wife hates the car and since I'm a family man now, she states that the car must go or I go. I love this car with a passion and it's the fastest car I've ever own. It is all original except the wheels and radio. I put 18 inch Speedline wheels on my car and it looks unique. Speedline is an Italian company that makes wheels for Porsche and Ferrari. The wheels cost me almost $8,000 including tires. These are the same wheels you see from the movie Bad Boys on the 1994 black Porsche 911 turbo S. These wheels are no longer available and are discontinued. The radio is an Alpine in the car. This Porsche also have a very rare option for the car which is a factory Porsche phone. This was a $5,000 option back then when requesting this option. The only thing this car needs is a new clutch. I can feel the clutch is starting to slip, but the car is totally driveable. The car has a clean carfax and a clean clear title. As a bonus I will how ever include a brand new in the box Alpine cda 7998 radio if the buyer choose the buy it now option only.
