For Sale: A classic 1969 GMC 1500 Fleetside Custom. This Truck in great shape with No Rust, and all it's original Steel. I was told that it was repainted back in the 1990's and other than a couple of dings (front of Hood) and some scratches and nicks It still looks great. I just finished having a small block 350 completely rebuilt by R & L Engines in Dover N.H.. Included in the rebuild are, an early 350 4 bolt main block cleaned, bored, decked, and new brass freeze plugs installed. Rebuilt Connecting Rods (with New Bolts), Polished (Standard) Factory Crankshaft, new Flat top Pistons, Moly Rings,and completely balanced and assembled. Brand new Cast Iron Summit Racing Cylinder Heads with 2:02 intake and 1:60 exhaust valves, Comp Cams Performance Camshaft with new pushrods, and roller tipped Rockers. Vintage Edelbrock C3B aluminum intake with a completely rebuild Holley 600cfm Carburetor. Also NEW: Auto Meter Oil Pressure and water temp Gauges, Summit Distributor, MSD Coil, Taylor ignition Wires, Air Filter, Fuel Pump, Hoses, and a new Zoom Clutch kit. I just got this Engine running and it still has it's Joe Gibbs "Break In" Oil with less than 30 miles on it….and It runs Great!!! The truck was an original "on the column" Standard but was converted to an Aluminum M-20 Muncie 4 Speed with a Hurst Floor Shifter. The Truck has it's original Manual Drum brakes and Power Steering and they work perfect. It drives nice and "Tight" , has vintage Slotted Aluminum Mags with raised white letter tires in great shape with lots of tread. This Truck has so much original Patina and "Feel", and I'm not sure if it started as a farm or fleet truck because of the auxiliary Spotlights and bigger Mirrors, but it was very well cared for, and they look to be professionally installed. It has Factory Gauges, and they seem to work except for the temp gauge which I disconnected. A previous owner had the Seat and Door Panels redone in a cross pattern 1970's Style black Vinyl, and the seat does have some tearing on the drivers side (see Photo). The custom Tonneau Cover is in great shape, but will need one button replaced on the truck (easy fix). The inside Bed is excellent except for some typical scratching, dinging, and has 2 small holes where the Battery box used to be. A previous owner thought it looked better if the Battery was in the bed, but I have removed that and reinstalled the battery to it's Factory location with a New reproduction tray and support. It has a clear Title, and i have the original Steering wheel, The original Manual and Protec"O" Plate, and a Stack of paperwork/Receipts that goes with it. This Truck is a Driver, and the few places I've gone, it gets lots of Looks and "Thumbs Up". A great Fun Truck that you could drive anywhere. If you have any questions, please email me. 1993 GMC Typhoon. This is the nearly 300 hp. turbo charged AWD SUV that set the world on its ear in the mid 90's. The truck offered here is a near perfect example, that has had only 2 adult car enthusiast owners since purchased new. In 1993 there were 2,200 Typhoons produced. Of that 2,200, only 101 of them were painted Apple Red with a Grey interior. "Like the Sonoma-based Syclone pickup truck from 1991, GMC produced a high-performance SUV for a brief time in the early 1990s. Based on the Jimmy, the GMC Typhoon used the same 4.3-liter V-6 engine that was modified by Production Automotive Services and put into service with the Syclone. The motor sported a turbocharger and intercooler which boosted power to 280 hp, though devotees surmise that true output is much higher.All-wheel drive helped ensure that the engine’s power wasn’t just used to shred tires, upgraded brakes were required to stop the SUV, and an air-operated self-leveling rear suspension helped to take some of the harshness out of the performance tuned suspension. Quarter-mile times were regularly recorded at 14.1 seconds by the press, and 0-60 times were around 5.3 seconds.The GMC Typhoon today is unique in that it was the first (and for a very long time only) performance SUV, and it was a legitimate one at that. Fewer than 5,000 were built, which makes it thin on the ground, and difficult to find in well-cared-for condition. Started by Laury Miller, the dealership later added GMC trucks and eventually Rambler. The company remained at that location until the fall of 1967, when it moved into its current facility at 3535 South State Street. In 1971, the dealership took on Subaru, a small company which was importing a new front-wheel drive car from Japan. Also in 1971, Laury's son Mark joined the company on a full time basis. Having worked in the Service, Parts, and Used Car Departments, he had just completed his first year as a salesperson and in January, 1971 started his duties as the dealership's Accounting Manager.In July of 1975, Laury and Mark signed a buy-sell agreement which was completed in November of 1976. On December 1st of 1976, Mark was awarded the Pontiac and Subaru franchises and became one of the youngest General Motors dealers in the country.In 1985, the decision was made to separate into its own corporation and facility, and in May of that year, Mark Miller Subaru opened at its location at 3734 South State Street. History- Our business began in 1953 as a Pontiac/Cadillac dealership located at 4919 South State Street in Murray. Started by Laury Miller, the dealership later added GMC trucks and eventually Rambler. The company remained at that location until the fall of 1967, when it moved into its current facility at 3535 South State Street. In 1971, the dealership took on Subaru, a small company which was importing a new front-wheel drive car from Japan. Also in 1971, Laury's son Mark joined the company on a full time basis. Having worked in the Service, Parts, and Used Car Departments, he had just completed his first year as a salesperson and in January, 1971 started his duties as the dealership's Accounting Manager.In July of 1975, Laury and Mark signed a buy-sell agreement which was completed in November of 1976. On December 1st of 1976, Mark was awarded the Pontiac and Subaru franchises and became one of the youngest General Motors dealers in the country.In 1985, the decision was made to separate into its own corporation and facility, and in May of that year, Mark Miller Subaru opened at its location at 3734 South State Street. At that time, Glen Krinke, who had been the General Sales Manager at the main dealership, was promoted to General Manager and took over the day-to-day operations of the Subaru Dealership. In December of 1985, Steve McIntyre was promoted to General Manager of Mark Miller Pontiac.In April of 1990, Mark purchased a Toyota dealership in downtown Salt Lake City. Mark Miller Toyota opened on April 13th, 1990.In November of 2009 Mark purchased a second Subaru dealership in Sandy, Utah.
