1990 Mercedes 190E White exterior with leather interior Two brand new tires put on 9/25/14 Two owner car just under 110,700 original miles Pretty clean interior with no rips of leather Smoke free car Power front seats Sun roof works (no leaks) Air and heat works great All windows work Radio works (not original radio) Uses gas, not diesel 16mpg city 22mpg highwayThere is a cup holder missing on the drivers door (I have a new one, just haven't installed it yet). There are some scratches to the paint (pictured on the hood and trunk) Great little car but my husband recently bought us a 60's Mustang so we need to sell a vehicle to make room in our garage. I live in the deep in the country so my Dad has the vehicle at his home to make it easier and more accessible to view. We purchased the vehicle in 2008 from a dealer who had it traded in from the original owner. There is a parasitic drain that slowly drains the battery if the car is not started at least every 3 to 4 days. If you start the car every day or every other day there is no issue at all. The ABS light comes on randomly Since we purchased the car in 2008 we have changed the alternator, battery and brakes. We have done oil and filter changes on a regular basis We live in zip code 62233 but I have the car 100 miles away at my parents house in zip code 63042. My parents live in a St. Louis suburb and I thought the car would get more views from their house. For pick up I can meet at my parents house or bring the car back to my house. Whatever works best for the purchaser.

Thank you for viewing my listing - This vehicle is available for viewing at our facility! Trust Drag International for the Rarest Sports Cars as well as Parts and Service to keep your ride running flawlessly! Click Here to View My Other Cars and Parts for Sale! We have for sale a 1990 Mercedes Benz 190E Evolution 2 - #146 of 500. Never originally available in the USA, this is precisely the first time that this rare automobile is being offered for sale completely legal for ownership and on-road use! This is an extremely rare opportunity to own one of the most iconic homologation specials ever produced by the masters at Mercedes Benz. A true thoroughbred, the 190E Evo 2 swept the 1992 German Touring Car Championship and was the epitome of engineering and speed at the time. It is widely considered the first Supercar to have been born a sedan! With Aerodynamics designed and tested by German Scientist and an Engine further tweaked by Cosworth, the Evo 2 was the culmination of Mercedes Benz expertise for the purpose of motorsports domination. Produced May 30, 1990, this vehicle was procured and imported at exactly 25 Years of age - Box 1 Designation on the HS-7 Import Declaration (Import Declaration Form is presented below). Also because EBAY does not recognize this exotic vehicles VIN # - the listing was created with a year of 1980. Introduced at the Geneva Motor Show in March of 1990, the 190E Evo 2 was created to satisfy DTM sanctions requiring a production version of all competing race vehicles. Over the years Mercedes Benz had gathered a vast amount of data on their touring race cars and had pushed development beyond the capacities of the standard vehicle. The popularity of touring cars was at an all time high and the DTM racing program was realizing world wide success reminiscent of Group B Rallying days. In order to further increase performance, drastic changes needed to be made to all aspects of the vehicle - and these changes would have to appear on the production version. The motorsports division, now known as AMG, was given unlimited resources in order to build a champion race car. The result was extensive modifications of Chassis, Aerodynamics and Engine Power that was aimed strictly at competition victory. Wind Tunnel testing helped to create the impressive aerodynamics package that would alter nearly every body panel of the vehicle! With a focus on function, this car looks brutally honest as its intentions are quite visible: downforce and stability. The Engine, previously developed by Mercedes Benz, was modified additionally by the experts at Cosworth to create more power as well as retain reliability. Unheard of at the time, this 2.5L 4 Cylinder created 235HP with a sound and rush that was unique and intoxicating. In race trim, the 2.5L would develop nearly 400HP. A close ratio 5 speed transmission was developed with a revised shift pattern keeping the most used gears inline. Another motorsports derived part, this unique 5 speed transmission was known as the dogleg gearbox. The ride height of the race vehicle was extremely low and for the production car to maintain useability Mercedes employed a height adjustable hydraulic suspension system that would allow the car to traverse the back roads just as easily as it did the race track. Creature comforts were offered as options all the while these vehicles were the most expensive offering from Benz at the time. Only available in Blue Black Metallic - this vehicle literally represents the birth of the Factory AMG Division and is the original Black Series High Performance production vehicle! Our 190E Evo 2 #146 retains ALL of the original Aerodynamic and Performance parts including the adjustable front splitter, adustable rear deck lid extension spoiler and adjustable rear wing. The wheels, fender arches, twin pipe exhaust system with perforated exhaust tip and rear window spoiler are also all original Evo 2 upgrades. This car has been impeccably loved and maintained throughout its life Specs:Original and Authentic 1990 190E Evolution II - Verified by Mercedes Benz Classic Center USAProduced May 30, 1990 - This is # 146 of 500 Created80,000 Miles with excellent operating running gear, chassis and electronicsOriginal Blue Black Metallic Paint - Code 199Additional Factory Options of interest Include: Original Leather and Gradient Pattern Cloth Sport Interior - Code 271A Electric Sliding Roof - Code 412 Air Conditioning - Code 580 WD Green Glass - Code 591 Outside Temp Indicator - Code 240 Rear Head Rest - Code 430 Upgrade Radio MB Exquisit with Rear Loud Speaker - Code 511 + 812 Seat Heater - Code 873 Exterior:Our 190E Evo 2 has a pristine exterior showing only minor rock blemishes on the lower front spoiler. It is complete and completely stock. The aerodynamics package is in excellent condition with all adjustable components in proper working order. Our #146 also has an electric sliding roof not typically optioned on these cars. Suspension / Brakes:Our 190E Evo 2 retains its hydraulically controlled SLS height adjustable suspension with in-cabin leveling switch. It is in perfect operating order and gives this performance car the smoothest and most confidence inspiring drives we have ever experienced! The original EVO 2 upgraded braking system with 300mm 4 Piston front calipers has also been properly maintained and performs flawlessly. Continental performance tires in the original 245/40/17 sizing are installed on the rare factory Evo 2 wheels for quiet cruising yet tenacious grip. Engine / Drivetrain:Evo 2 #146 starts, idles and drives perfectly. The engine revs vigorously to its 7700 RPM Redline. It operates properly in varying conditions as intended and blows cold air conditioning. The drivetrain and engine are in excellent condition showing signs of proper scheduled maintenance. The SLS suspension pump, lines and reservoir system are also functioning properly. Interior:The interior of this car is in immaculate condition for a vehicle of this age and mileage. The gear shift shows natural wear lending an authentic patina to this touring car. 146 of 500 is scripted atop the shifter indicating the cars limited production. A rare option on the Evo 2, our car has the contrasting leather and gradient cloth seats offering increased holding befitting of this super sedan. The seats are bolstered heavily in the front as well as the rear! This is truly a super car with 4 seats. The Green Glass is clean clear with no signs of having ever been tinted. The interior smells and presents as nearly new. All in all, this car is amazing. Pictures do not do justice to the presence this car has and the history that the Evo 2 represents. This is an iconic machine being offered for the first time in the USA completely legal and without any usage or mileage restrictions! Visit DRAGint.com to read more about this Evo 2 and our facility. 1986 Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.3 16V Cosworth, 77,621 Original Miles, 2 Owners From New, Rare Automatic Transmission, Great Running Condition 800x600 1986 Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.3 16V Cosworth, 77,621 Original Miles, 2 Owners From New, Rare Automatic Transmission, Great Running Condition VIN #WDBDA34D3GF187107 This 1986 Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.3 16V Cosworth is a fantastic example of one of the most sought-after eighties sports sedans Mercedes-Benz produced and, along with the BMW M3, represents an era of cars that will never be seen again… The condition of this car is very original and straight. The car shows some signs of age, especially in the paint, and has 77,621 original miles on the odometer. I am the second owner from new. This car retains every option available on a 190 at the time, including the special options available only on the 2.3 16V versions, such as the front and rear seats. BODY: This 190E 2.3 16V wears its factory correct and original Blue-Black Metallic paint, which unfortunately is not in the best condition, as you can see from the photos. It is peeling in some areas and faded in some others. If you need additional photos of the paint, please let me know. I'm happy to take more. The good news is that all of the body panels are ripple, dent, and rust free and don’t appear to have had any sort of body or accident damage. The glass and seals are in good condition and there are no leaks evident. The body trim, including the chrome, aluminum, and rubber, is in good condition. No trim has been replaced. There are some minor imperfections, but overall, all of the trim is in line with what the condition should be on a car of this age with the mileage shown. The composite body panels, fender flares, ground effects, etc., are also in good condition with no need for replacement, just re-finishing. INTERIOR: The interior is trimmed in the original black leather. The seating areas are in nice condition, with no rips or tears, but there is normal wear evident. The door panels are also in good condition, but please pay attention to the photos in the description. The dashboard has a couple of small cracks, which can be repaired, and there are two spots on the seating areas, one in the front and one in the back, where the stitches have separated and need to be re-sewn. The seat backs also need minor repair. All of these issues can be rectified with a good interior shop at a fairly low cost. The rest of the interior is in good condition and has normal wear and tear for a car of this age and mileage. If you don’t see something in my photos you would like to see, PLEASE ASK! The wood trim is also in decent overall condition and not in need of repair, unless your plan is to totally restore the car. The carpet is also original and in very presentable condition. The climate control system works, but the air conditioner is not getting very cold and will either need a charge or possibly a new compressor at some point. The compressor is still available and is fairly inexpensive. All of the windows power up and down and work, as well as the sun roof. The trunk is in very nice condition, the trunk floor covering is in excellent condition with no rips, tears, or missing pieces, and the spare tire, jack, and factory tool kit are accounted for and in very nice condition. UNDERCARRIAGE: The underside of the car is in line with a 77,000 mile Mercedes. Again, it is very solid with no evidence of any accident damage, but does have the normal minor surface rust associated with cars of this age. I've included quite a few photos of the underside of the car along with the rest of the photos of the car after the description in this section. ENGINE and ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The powerplant in this Mercedes is the original 2.3 litre 16 valve Cosworth engine. It is completely original and as you can see from the photos, well preserved. All aspects of the motor are in perfect working order, and the compression ratio is exactly where it should be. And yes, the car is fast. The engine bay is completely original, with all components in operational condition. Every detail of the engine compartment is “Mercedes Correct”. There is some wear to certain painted surfaces due to age, but overall, it is very presentable. All engine and drivetrain maintenance is up to date, including the following services: -oil and filter change -air filter replacement -installation of new fuel filter -engine coolant -installation of drive belts -lubrication of entire chassis -installation of new battery TRANSMISSION: The automatic transmission in this car is in working order and functions as a 77,000 mile car should. It is the original transmission to the car. As you already know if you are a fan of these cars, most of these cars were manufactured with manual transmissions. This car is one of the very few cars equipped with an automatic transmission. TIRES, WHEELS, and BRAKES: The tires are in fair condition but could use replacement if the new owner plans on doing any serious driving. They and are the correct and original size for the 1986 190 16V. The wheels are the original Mercedes-Benz wheels, and are in good condition. The entire braking system has been gone through to ensure every part works as it should. All rotors, pads, and seals have been replaced and brake fluid flushed. OVERALL DRIVING IMPRESSIONS: This 190E 2.3 16V runs and drives as should – It’s barely broken in! The 4 cylinder powerplant runs and accelerates smoothly and very quickly and the transmission shifts as it should. The car drives around town and on the open road. It has had all of the necessary service recently performed including oil-change, tune up, installation of new battery, and transmission and differential service. The only area I would pay attention to if I was to drive the car would be the suspension. Everything works, but it could use a complete overhaul at some point in the future, i.e tie rods, etc., not just because of the mileage, but also because of the fact the car sat idle for periods of time over the years. The most important part of the suspension, the self-leveling air shocks at the rear, are in working order and are not in need of repair at this time, although the accumulators will need to be replaced. PLEASE NOTE: This 190E 2.3 16V still retains all of its original or N.O.S. components! This means the engine, transmission, rear end, etc. are original or correct to the car. All of the numbers, markings, etc., are correct. THIS CAR HAS NEVER BEEN MODIFIED IN ANY WAY! It is an original and very special car that, as evidenced by the low mileage, has been driven very sparingly during the last 29 years… If you are serious about purchasing this vehicle, I encourage you to come, take a look, and drive it. I can also provide you with additional photos of any specific part you have questions about. You or your mechanic are also welcome to put the car on a lift and perform any drivetrain inspection you wish, including a compression check. Please remember, this is a 29 year old car. As you can see from the photos, it’s not perfect. Things do go wrong sometimes. That’s the nature of old cars. I have attempted to describe all of the high and low points of this car. Overall, it’s a great dependable car to drive every day or restore to its original glory. My plan was to paint the car, repair the interior where needed, work on the suspension, and enjoy it. Plans change and I’d like it to find a good home. Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 800x600 TERMS: $500 DEPOSIT WITHIN 48 HOURS OF AUCTION CLOSE. Developed in collaboration with Cosworth initially for the rally scene of the 1980s, the flagship version of the 190E series eventually went on to dominate track-racing and ended up on the roads as well, putting up a good fight against BMW's iconic M3. Even though nine times out of ten, people would choose the Bimmer over the Merc, the 190E Cosworth's underdog status makes it an equally appealing car. As Richard Hammond put it: "it was Cinderella, but the coach never came". But let's take it from the start. In the late '70s, the V8-powered 450SLC rally car started to show the signs of aging, so the Stuttgart automaker decided to replace it with a compact model. Jointly developed with Cosworth, the 190E never made to rallying though, as Audi took everyone by surprise with the Quattro, featuring four-wheel drive and a turbocharged engine. Mercedes' management didn't want to fight an battle it couldn't win so instead, they competed in the German Touring Car Championship (DTM). Motorsport regulations stated that, in order for a racecar to be homologated, there had to be a road-going version. So, at the 1983 Frankfurt Motor Show, Mercedes unveiled the 190E 2.3-16 Cosworth. It couldn't have been a more better time for this, as, just one month earlier, three Cosworth prototypes set a number of world speed records at the Nardo (Italy) oval, after being driven non-stop for over 50,000 km (31,069 miles). According to the plan, the distance was to be covered in 8 days, at an average speed of 240 km/h (149 mph). Six pilots drove in 2 and a half hour shifts and completed the task in exactly 201 hours, 39 minutes and 43 seconds. More amazing was the fact that all three cars finished without breaking down, only needing routine maintenance and, of course, refueling. The heart of the production 190E 2.3-16 was the four-cylinder Cosworth engine, based on the 136 hp 2.3-liter stock Mercedes powertrain. It was made from a light alloy, fitted with dual overhead camshafts and four valves per cylinder. The British engineers made the valves as large as they could be for the given displacement and also used a Bosch K-Jetronic injection system. The 2.3-16 delivered 185 hp at 6,200 rpm and 240 Nm (177 lb-ft) at 4,500 rpm, easily revving up to the 7,000 rpm redline. It was pretty fast for its time reaching 100 km/h (62 mph) from standstill in 7.5 seconds and a top speed of 230 km/h (143 mph). Due to stricter emission regulations, U.S.-spec models had a slightly weaker engine, rated at 167 hp and 220 Nm (162 lb-ft). The power was sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual Getrag transmission with a racing gear pattern. That meant it had a "dog-leg" first gear, left and down from neutral. The steering ratio was shortened, for added precision, while the steering wheel itself had a smaller diameter. With a 0.32 drag coefficient, the 190E Cosworth set a new world record for the time. It was also a car that showcased many advanced engineering solutions, such as an electronically controlled limited-slip differential (LSD) and self-leveling hydraulic suspension on the rear axle. Inside, leather-clad Recaro sports seats provided ample support during fast cornering, alongside the aggressively shaped rear bench, while the instrument panel had additional gauges – oil temperature, voltmeter and stop watch. Only two exterior colors were available, the Blue-Black metallic and Smoke Silver. In 1984, driving a 190E Cosworth, Ayrton Senna, a relatively unknown driver at the time, won the first race held on the shortened Nürburgring, signaling the birth of two very big stars. But the 2.3-16 was just the beginning of the 190E Cosworth saga. In 1988, a new model followed, the 2.5-16. It had a bigger, 2.5-liter engine, delivering ten more ponies, for a total of 195 hp. There were also cars without catalytic converters, capable of 204 hp. Two new exterior colors were offered, the Almandine Red and Astral Silver. Overall, the 2.5-16 wasn't a quantum leap, but it did help the 190E Cosworth to keep up with its arch nemesis, the E30 BMW M3. Until 1988, the 2.3-16 was raced in different touring car championships by privately owned race teams. When Mercedes officially entered DTM, a new road going version was needed for homologation. This is how the 2.5-16 Evo I limited edition came to be. Only 502 units were built, featuring the same 2.5-liter 195 hp engine, with slight modifications. The powertrain had a shorter stroke and bigger bore, which allowed it to rev higher. Also, the rotating masses were lightened, lubrication improved and cam timing altered. The running gear received the most important upgrades, being optimized for heavy track use, as more and more 190E Cosworth owners were entering weekend races. For those wanting more performance, Mercedes also offered a DM18,000 PowerPack developed by AMG, delivering 30 extra horsepower. The upgrade included different camshafts, larger throttle body and more aggressive engine management. The intake and exhaust systems were optimized as well. The 1990 Geneva Auto Show saw the introduction of the Evo II, the most capable of all 190E Cosworths. This time the engine was considerably more powerful, churning out 235 hp and 245 Nm (181 lb-ft) of torque, the latter constant between 5,000-6,000 rpm. Tipping the scales at just 1,300 kg (2,866 lbs), the Evo II could accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 7.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph) – impressive figures back then. The Evo II had an adjustable sports suspension, with three height levels, operated by a switch placed to the left of the steering wheel. Front passengers were given even more aggressive sports seats, while the rear bench was configured for only two individuals. An extensive bodykit, boasting an oversized rear win and blistered wheel arches, made the Evo II downright menacing and aerodynamically more efficient, with a drag coefficient of only 0.29. The Evo II had a limited run of 502 units, 500 painted in black, while the last two were silver. Base price was DM115,260, approximately €58,932 in today's currency. Granted, that was a lot, but, hey, good things are never cheap. By Csaba Daradics

In 1963 Mercedes ended production of their “top-of-the-line" 300SL Sports Car as well as their entry-level, 190SL Roadster. Replacing both was the all-new, 230SL Roadster. This was a fresh, all new design that shared only the basic layout of an in-line, SOHC, fuel-injected, six-cylinder engine up front and open seating for two. Interior room and comfort were greatly improved as was rear-trunk room. The 2.3-liter six, while lively and free-reving was not fully up to the task of moving the new vehicles weight effectively and the 230SLs are still regarded as being fairly underpowered. Additional development saw a short-lived interim model, the 250SL being produced for model year 1967. Power was up and disc brakes were now also fitted to the rear but it was a short-term solution that was soon replaced by the final variation of this popular theme, the 280SL. Finally buyers got the performance, power and handling they both expected and demanded. The 280SL was built in model years, 1968-1971 before it too was replaced. For most enthusiast, the end of the production of the 280SL was the end of the classic era of open Mercedes Benz Sports Cars. The 350/450SL that replaced it was a clever way to deal with both comfort, safety and emission standards in a manner that the 280SL could never have hoped to achieve. Sadly what the newer version gained was at the loss of any pretense at performance and excitement on the road. Today, the 230/250/280SL family of Sports Cars have a growing popularity with collectors eclipsed by few other machines of the era. For obvious reasons, the 280SL variant is the version most sought out. With disc brakes at all four corners, more than adequate performance, handling and a supplemental engine oil-cooler, the 280SLs are vice-free open-top Sports Cars with few equals, especially when price is factored in. Chassis No. 113.044-12-006311:This vehicle was special ordered new in color code 172G "Anthracite Grey" a particularly attractive and complementary color for any of the 230/250/280SL versions. The interior is likewise equally attractive and complementary in dark grey with matching grey carpeting and upholstery. This is a particular well optioned example having both Air Conditioning as well as a rare and highly coveted Becker Mexico Cassette Radio, Amplifier, Dual-Speakers and Power Antenna. This 280SL was also ordered and equipped with option code "426" which was a combination code of "420 and 422." This meant the vehicle as fitted with a four-speed automatic transmission that was floor mounted and that it also had power steering. It also was fitted with option code "503" which meant the inner doors on both sides were reinforced, fitted with brackets and featured dual external rear-view mirrors on both sides. This vehicle was delivered new with both the hard and soft tops. The hard top was delivered in body color as were the hub caps. The soft top was delivered new in a contrasting dark black. Early ownership of this particular vehicle is not known until it was offered for sale by the well-known Japanese-American classic vehicle broker Ichizo Kobayashi. He sourced the vehicle from a Los Angeles based collector for a client in Japan. In 1990, it received a complete and total, bare-metal, ground-up restoration. It is believed that the restoration was carried out by Lothar Motschenbacher who completed several restorations for Kobayashi-san over the years. Upon completion of the restoration, the vehicle was then imported to Japan and road-registered there for the first time on August 3rd, 1991. While in Japan, this 280SL covered 33,569 kilometers. It has always been ultra carefully preserved, conserved and well cared for by both of the former Japanese owners. Today this fully restored 280SL is ready for any manner of immediate enthusiastic use. All services are completely current and up to date. there are no known mechanical or cosmetic defects other than a bit of aging showing on the optional hard top's headliner. The soft top appears both original and as new and completely unused. This is a completely restored, matching number, rust and accident free vehicle. It is also sold complete with the owner's manual and tools. This vehicle is sold with a current USA title and registration. Overseas buyers are warmly welcome and encouraged to inquire about a potential purchase as well. I can assist at all levels with export and import anywhere in the world as needed. Curated photo viewer 1989 Mercedes 560sl built by amg new vital information 1989 MERCEDES 560SL AMG 24,000 Original Miles Red over Black Ordered New and Built by AMG North America Only a handful in the USA Investment Quality DESCRIPTION 1989 Mercedes 560SL AMG 24,000 Original, One Owner MilesFully Documented and Built by AMG North AmericaBooks, Tools and Records Last month an original Mercedes 190E Evolution II sold for an outstanding $220,000 at auction, followed by a Mercedes Mclaren SLR for $675,000 and in December we sold our Mercedes CLK DTM Coupe in a record 60 days after having an incredible amount of interest from collectors across the US. The month prior we sold our 2008 Mercedes CLK63 Black Series in 1 week and our 2012 Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series in 1 day.Lets face it, with the introduction of the new Mercedes-AMG Hypercar Project One and Mercedes AMG GTR all things related to Mercedes AMG are HOT. When we recently got called on a 1989 Mercedes 560 SL AMG, built by AMG North America, we had to pursue the lead. 1980s were undeniably special. Radio waves were ruled by pop artists Madonna, Milli Vanilli and Bobby Brown and NBC aired the television series Miami Vice for 5 seasons, until May of 1989. Meanwhile, German tuning company, AMG, rocked the automotive world with its luxury 200mph Mercedes rockets. Ordered new from Mercedes Ontario, its first and only owner sent our 1989 Mercedes 560SL car directly from the dealer to Missouri, home of AMG North America. Supplied with a specific AMG SL ordering sheet, the original owner spent over $8,000.00 on AMG options and accessories. Including, AMG wheels, side skirts, European headlamps, a telephone and even an AMG spec limited slip differential. What’s remarkable about this car is not only is it arguably the nicest 560 SL we have ever seen, its that the original owner kept every envelope, document and brochure from AMG. In addition to being so well documented and babied since 1989 with only 24,000 miles, how many SL’s were modified by AMG? Our guess? A handful. How many left? Not many. While not the most absurd thing to come out of the 1980s, our 1989 Mercedes 560 SL AMG is a piece of automotive history un-paralleled. One owner, 24,000 miles and documented from AMG. CONTACT US Dealer Contact © CURATED BISCAYNE BLVD, MIAMI FL Tel: 1-561-801-0092 BELOW ARE A FEW OF THE OTHER VEHICLES CURRENTLY AVAILABLE FROM CURATED about us Curated Almost 60 years ago my grandfather started repairing odd and rare European cars in Springfield, Mass. During an era where Ferrari and Lamborghini were building small quantities of hand made cars that rarely made it onto American soil. Arguably, this moment in history was the most significant time for the automobile, an era that produced the most iconic cars of our time which became the DNA for todays most famous marques. He bought and sold cars like the Ferrari 250 GTO, Jaguar D-Type and Lamborghini Miura. (Selling his Ferrari 250 GTO for $9,500.00 to Robert Sowers has always been a sore spot.) While my grandfather loved engineering and mechanics, my father loved the automobile. Working under the stewardship of my grandfather, he became a brilliant mechanic and at an early age started collecting cars. At the New York Auto Show in 1972 he bought a one-off Lamborghini Miura SV from Modena Racing that he still posses today. In the 1980s, my father became the authorized service in Palm Beach, Florida for Lamborghini facilitated by Joe Nastasi. Nastasi was the sole distributor for Lamborghini in the Americas. I grew up around and inside LM002's, Countach's and Jalpa's. For my father and myself the automobile was not a livelihood, it was an obsession. He amassed a collection of toys, parts and cars that is unparallaled in the world. While other kids spent their afternoons and summers in camp, I spent it on the shop floor, cleaning Ferrari F50's, reading 25th Anniversary owners manuals and studying serial numbers, factory/dealer options and sweeping floors. After the world's best education, an MBA in everything Ferrari and Lamborghini, In 2005 I left home and began my own journey. This journey is dedicated to Jacques Temerian and John Temerian Sr. The Goal. The goal of Curated is quite simple. After 12 years of buying and selling hundreds of vintage Lamborghini's and Ferrari's, I have partnered with Jordi Ricart and Alan Lazowski to prove that the automobile is a viable and consistent alternative investment asset class. Ignoring the noise of speculating dealers, ???Broadway?? Show auction houses and using reason and passion to build an investment automobile collection portfolio. We are in the constant pursuit of pairing the worlds greatest automobiles with the worlds greatest collections. We buy, trade and sell ONLY very specific cars. Why We invest? The key to this asset is like any other... Knowledge of the investment, knowledge of the market, accessibility to product, and liquidity of product. Curated knows Classic Cars. We are strict about what we buy and dedicated to our DNA. We only buy, trade and sell cars we know; Lamborghini Countach, Diablo and Miura models. Specific Ferrari Challenge models. Specific Supercar models from 1980s/1990s. And a few Jaguar E-Types here and there...

SHOWING BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. ONLY SERIOUS BUYERS (917)410-6699 SAM Don't be too quick to discount older cars. The best car ever made was the Mercedes 123 body cars, built from 1978 to 1986. These can be purchased in reasonable shape for a few thousand dollars. If you can find one with less than 200K miles, it will last you a long time. Turbos were available from 1981 on. The cars you would be interested in would be the 300D four door sedan, 300DT station wagon, or 300CD sport coupe. Another reliable, if inelegant choice would be a 190D. These are little sedans, about the size of a Toyota Corolla. The only year for the turbo version was 1987, and these are a bit hard to find in good shape. My personal favorite is the 1990-1993 300D (intermediate sedan), which had the 2.5L turbodiesel motor. These can approach 40mpg if you have a light foot, and they are very comfortable and luxurious. The SD big sedans are easier to find. While they are plusher and generally very reliable, they are less fuel efficient (about 25 mpg.) More recent cars are more problematic. The 350 motor has a mixed reputation for relibility. And the newer E-Class cars are undoing Mercedes reputation for quality and reliability. All Mercedes sold in the US since the 70's have A/C. Just make sure that it works, because it can be expensive to fix.

The Lexus GS 350 sedan makes its mark with practicality as well as speed, restraint and luxury. The GS 350 has a new, more powerful 3.5-liter V6 that brings alert performance to this model. It comes in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. The all-wheel-drive models feature a fast-acting, clutch-type center differential that sends 70 percent of the power to the rear wheels under normal circumstances to help foster the dynamics of a rear-wheel-drive car. When wheel sensors detect slippery road conditions, as much as 50 percent of engine power is diverted to the front wheels to increase the car's overall traction on the road. For 2007, the Lexus GS 350 gets more power. Source: Model Reviews Introduction The 2007 Lexus GS makes its mark with sense as well as speed, restraint as well as luxury. Although it's easy to think of it as an alternative to Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz, the Lexus GS embraces an entirely different set of values. Lexus itself has promoted the phrase 'L-finesse' to define its way of crafting an automobile, and this faintly awkward example of market-speak in fact gets right to the heart of the 2007 Lexus GS. This high-performance sedan is meant to be dynamic, yet free of gimmicks. It is meant to combine precision with lavish, luxurious appointments. It is meant to deliver the highest standard of automotive performance, yet be easily intuitive to drive. Amazing examples of automotive technology are included as standard equipment, yet the driver is never aware of them. The Lexus GS does everything you ask, and yet it always feels effortless. If you think of the character of a BMW 5 Series sedan, the Lexus GS is its opposite. The third-generation Lexus GS came to market for 2006 as the first completely new passenger car from Toyota's luxury division since 2001, a showcase of the giant company's most advanced technology. It arrived with more computing power than some third-world countries and a standard of luxury usually enjoyed only in the best zip codes. And yet, surprisingly enough, the Lexus GS has been substantially improved for 2007. New for 2007, the lineup is joined by the GS 450h, which features a hybrid powertrain that combines a gasoline-powered V6 engine with a battery-powered electric motor to deliver an overall output of 340 horsepower combined with fuel economy of 25 mpg City/28 mpg Highway on the EPA cycle. The 2007 GS 430's 290-hp 4.3-liter V8 continues as before, but its high-technology, rear-wheel-drive chassis has been improved with an optional system of active anti-roll body control. For 2007, the GS 350 has a new, more powerful 3.5-liter V6 that brings alert performance to this model, which comes in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. (The 2006 model offered 245 horsepower from 3.0-liter V6.) The GS 350 and GS 430 utilize a close-ratio six-speed automatic transmission, one of the smallest and lightest gearboxes of its type. For added performance, the transmission includes a sport mode that enables you to manually make sequential shifts with the console-mounted gear lever. Source: New Car Test Drive Walkaround The face of Lexus has evolved cautiously since Toyota launched the luxury division in 1990, but it's now determined to inject more passion into its styling language and the GS is leading the way. With the third-generation GS introduced for 2006, this new look has been resolved in a low, stretched shape with a long hood, a set-back greenhouse and short rear deck. The GS sedan expresses simplicity, yet the car is thoroughly sculpted throughout its length. The design is perhaps a little predictable, yet the combination of this sleek shape and careful work to reduce aerodynamic turbulence beneath the car has produced a remarkably low 0.27 coefficient of aerodynamic drag, and this promotes a quieter interior and fuel efficiency. The GS has high-intensity-discharge headlights with an available system that automatically compensates headlight aim for different passenger loads. The power-adjustable mirrors have de-fogging heat elements and tilt down when the car is in reverse. The variable intermittent windshield wipers actuate automatically when raindrops are sensed. Fast-acting LEDs are used in the rear brake lights. Big 18-inch wheels are available. Source: New Car Test Drive Driving Impression The Lexus interpretation of high performance doesn't sacrifice comfort and quietness, so it's sometimes easy to overlook the accomplished road manners of the Lexus GS. Its fundamental sense of balance makes driving enjoyable, yet its resilient ride and quiet cabin can take the sting out of commuting. The GS can rip down the road if you like. Wide tires furnish plenty of cornering grip: 245/40ZR18 tires are standard equipment for both the GS 450h and GS 430, while the GS 350 carries 225/50WR17 tires. The suspension configuration delivers optimal suspension geometry for good handling, while gas-charged dampers and coil springs promote a resilient, long-legged ride. The GS 450h and GS 430 both have three-position, electronically adjustable damping control to help the car adapt to driving conditions, while the GS 450h also incorporates active roll control, which minimizes body roll during fast driving and further enhances the sensation of effortless speed. The gear changes of the six-speed automatic transmission are virtually undetectable, although there is a rewarding climb through the gears that's missing from the seamlessly smooth CVT used on the GS 450h hybrid. The GS is not the sort of car that encourages manual shifting, yet this is a performance car, and the feeling of acceleration is a large part of its appeal. The high-tech electric power steering is exceptionally sophisticated. Its Variable Gear Ratio Steering reduces the amount of steering lock (not just steering effort) at very low speeds and accelerates the steering effect as the wheel approaches full lock. The system matches wheel angle to the speed at which the driver is turning the steering wheel in order to offset any delay in the car's response to steering input. This works especially well on winding roads. A correction feature offsets the effects of crosswinds, making small steering adjustments automatically. The steering system makes it possible to manage a powerful, rear-wheel-drive car in all kinds of driving and (more important) all kinds of weather. But we felt that both the electric power steering and electric brake system occasionally deliver an unnatural feel through the controls. During ordinary driving, we adapted quickly, but the combination of these electric systems with VDIM proved faintly distracting during enthusiastic driving. In fact, the hybrid GS 450h actually annoyed us because the transition from conventional friction braking to hybrid-style regenerative electrical braking frequently proved clumsy and unpredictable. Overall, the heavy, 4134-pound GS 450h is the quickest of the GS sedans, getting to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds, although it's capable of just 131 mph. The 3748-pound GS 430 gets to 50 mph in 5.7 seconds on the way to a top speed of 149 mph. Fuel economy for the GS 450h is rated 25/28 mpg City/Highway on the government's EPA cycle, while the GS 430 is rated 18/25 mpg. Now that the new 3.5-liter V6 engine has been added to the GS 350 for 2007, we discovered that this car proved livelier and more enjoyable to drive than its up-market siblings. Conventional steering and braking helped the GS 350 feel more natural than the more-expensive models with all their drive-by-wire technology. And the available 18-inch tires provide more cornering grip for drivers who feel they need it. In particular, the all-wheel-drive model feels surprisingly alert and maneuverable thanks to its rear-biased power delivery and the added horsepower of the new 3.5-liter engine. The 3704-pound GS 350 can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds on its way to a top speed of 143 mph. It delivers an EPA-rated 21/29 mpg, while the 3869-pound GS 350 AWD version gets to 60 mph in 5.8 seconds on its way to a top speed of 130 mph and manages 20/27 mpg. The GS 350 gives up some dynamic control at the outer limits of its performance envelope compared to the GS 450h and GS 430, but it's more enjoyable to drive. Source: New Car Test Drive Interior We should all live in houses appointed as well as the Lexus GS. Open any one of the four doors (you've got standard keyless entry, so don't worry about having to unlock the car), and you're greeted by stainless-steel scuff plates, the scent of leather and cut-pile carpeting, and the gleam of highly burnished hardwood trim. Nearly everyone can find a comfortable position behind the steering wheel of the GS. The combination of the 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat and a thick-rimmed steering wheel with an electrical tilt/telescopic control helps you find a comfortable driving position. The driver's seat itself is sculpted with an extensive set of bolsters that support you, though they are not so restrictive that they encumber easy ingress and egress. The tilt/telescoping steering wheel is handsomely trimmed in wood and leather. In the traditional Lexus style, the instrumentation is set deep within the dash to promote easy focus by older drivers and also features electroluminescent instrument needles for heightened visibility. Across the dash panel, each gauge, button, knob, lever and wheel is clearly identified by easily read words or symbols, so you can intuitively grasp the meaning. There's soft-touch electronic actuation for virtually every control, from the window switches to the trunk release. Dominating the center console is a seven-inch electronic screen with touch-screen controls. Two banks of menu buttons flank the screen. The driver uses this screen to operate the audio system, climate control, and optional navigation system with backup camera, although many functions are duplicated with nearby buttons on the dashboard. Navigating through the submenus doesn't take too much brainpower, but like most multi-tasking electronic systems, a day spent with the owner's manual on a quiet side street is the best way to figure out the way to work everything properly. Lexus has made a quality audio system a key component of its brand identity, so it's no surprise that the GS sedan has a premium system. The standard 134-watt system features an AM/FM tuner with cassette tape and an in-dash, six-disc CD changer. It plays through a 10-speaker sound system. MP3 capability isn't offered. Audiophiles can opt for the Mark Levinson Premium Surround Sound system, developed especially for the GS interior. Utilizing 5.1 surround sound playback via a 7.1-channel speaker topology, its 330-watt amplifier sends the vibes through 14 speakers via 11 channels of amplification. The DVD-based navigation system has information for more than 6 million points of interest, while route searching is conducted at ten times the speed of previous-generation systems. The screen has excellent resolution and the map images have three-dimensional shading to aid recognition. Voice recognition makes the system a hands-free experience for the experienced user, while Spanish has finally been added to the selection of text languages, which also includes English and French. The Bluetooth-compatible telephone system can be operated by voice command or through the seven-inch touch screen. Source: New Car Test Drive Summary The Lexus approach to high performance isn't easily grasped by everyone, so it's easy to overlook the genuinely rewarding road manners of the Lexus GS sedan. This car has the calm, intuitive personality we associate with the Lexus brand, yet it has capability to get you to your destination as quickly as you dare. Even during a morning commute, you can seize a few moments of driving enjoyment. At the same time, the GS never feels heavy or clumsy like its German competition. Although the third-generation GS doesn't have the styling presence of its predecessor, this remains a first-rate driver's car. The Lexus GS is more like a Bentley than a BMW, a unique character that sets it apart from its sport-sedan competition.
