I am selling this because I purchased a 2010 Prius, not for the gas savings (I drive about 12,500 miles a year), but rather for the technology. I am the second owner of this Maxima. The vehicle was originally purchased from Empire Nissan, in Redlands, CA, in February, 2002, with all service previous to my purchase being performed at a Nissan dealership. I purchased this from a doctor in Redlands, CA, in January, 2007, when it had 82,357 miles on it. He sold it because his son was going to do a mission overseas for two years, so he was going to use his son's car, since he didn't need to have three cars. I have used premium (91 octane) fuel exclusively since the day of first purchase (see above for pictures of the first and last receipts), and have had this maintained by a Nissan mechanic who lives here in Carlsbad. I have all service and parts receipts, which I can show, but not give you for privacy reasons. The owners manual, navigation manual, warranty booklet, 2 key, 2 key FOBs, and other documentation, other than the window sticker, is included. The car has 180,564 miles on it as of November 8th, which is the last date that I used it for daily driving. I work from my house, and this is an average of 12,540 miles a year since purchase. I have filled it up (and fully topped it off) with premium fuel. Here is my driving breakdown: Total miles on 11/08/2014: 180,558 Miles at purchase on 1/13/2007: 82,357 Total miles driven since purchase: 98,201 Total time: 7 years, 9 months, 26 days (rounded to 10 months) 94 total months Average miles per month: 1,045 Average miles per year: 12,540 The car is fully cleaned, vacuumed, shampooed, and waxed, both inside, outside, and in the engine compartment. Notable standard features for this model include: very rare 6 speed manual transmission, heated leather power driver and passenger seats, Bose audio with CD changer, navigation, sunroof (which I never used), and Xenon HID headlights. The car also has heated rearview mirrors, and a heated steering wheel, but I swapped the steering wheel for a non-heated version, due to wear on the top heating element. The upgrades that I have done to the car, primarily for enhanced safety, are: - Upgraded front brake rotors, front brake calipers, and front brake pads to the larger gen 6 Maxima brakes and rotors (12.6" on the gen 6, vs 11" on the standard gen 5.5 front rotor). These don't show up very well in daylight, but they are much brighter and whiter than the stock bulbs. - "Spray" vs "squirt windshield washers (from the gen 6 Maxima) and hybrid/more aerodynamic wiper blades - Matching full-size 17" alloy rim, with Yokohama Avid V4S spare tire in trunk, vs small, heavy, and ineffective doughnut emergency use tire - HeatShield windshield cover - Cargo net This car is my third Maxima (first was a white 1990, then a white 1996, then this silver 2002): safe, with front and side airbags, can go fast if you want it to, gets great gas mileage when you drive it appropriately, and flexible: it can be a very comfortable 5 person sedan, or with the rear seats down, can fit a piece of 10 foot PVC pipe from Home Depot. On the freeway from Irvine to Carlsbad I can get between 30 and 33 miles per gallon at less than 65mph, and if you exclusively drive on the freeway on a full tank it's around 27 to 29. In the city, around 22 to 23. See above for a picture of my MPG, over 32, on a drive from San Clemente to Oceanside, and below for my fuelly data, for all fuel-ups. And yes, you can see that I even cleaned inside the fuel door. All of these scratches were caused by the original owner, not me. The interior is in great condition, with just one crack on the left side of the driver seat, and loose stitching on the front right side of the passenger seat. Nobody ever sat in the rear seats, and there is a little tear in the rubber weather sealing on the left rear passenger door compartment.  All windows are original Nissan windows, shown in the pictures above. Typical for this model, three of the navigation/air conditioning buttons are loose and/or broken off, so when I rarely (never) use the air conditioning, I change the settings with a pin, or an Apple iPhone SIM ejector tool. There are cosmetic "titanium" covers over the door handles, door arm rest, and center console, and some of the covering is worn off on the driver door, and there are some scratches on the rear left interior passenger door handle cover. Cosmetically I'd say the car is in "very good" condition, and mechanically probably "good" condition. It is over 12 years old, after all. I have the clean title in hand, smog check passed on November 8th, with smog check details uploaded to the smog check verification web site on November 9th, 2014. That tawdry beast is gone, laid to rest in a special graveyard reserved for stretch slacks, musk colognes, and slap-on chest hair. In its place is a car created by designers who understand design, engineers who grasp the needs and wants of enthusiasts, and-perhaps most important management with the guts and the savvy not to stand in the way of its creative corps. New from the ground up, the new 300ZX is, quite simply, one of the most alluring cars to appear on the U.S. market in years. But that's obvious, isn't it? Let your eyes wander over the Z's sensuous form for a moment. The shape is lean, low, and provocative-and, unlike the previous edition, it's restrained and sophisticated. This is not a flashy, boy racer's strutmobile. Some viewers say the nose (which houses new flush headlights instead of the old model's pop-up units) looks heavy, and others find the overall shape derivative and unoriginal. But we aren't among the naysayers. The new 300ZX is stunning in the metal, a beautiful and exciting car that looks exotic without being quirky. That Nissan designed the car entirely in-house is further proof that it is a company with the resources and audacity to push bold programs into production. At present, Nissan offers the new Z only in normally aspirated form; a twin-turbo version will appear this fall. Two body styles are available: the two-seater pictured here and a slightly longer two-plus-two. Both are shorter, wider, and lower than their respective predecessors. And both body styles are available in the U.S. only with T-tops. The Z's T-roof is one of the best we've ever encountered-tight, leak-free, and easy to remove-but we're still bewildered and bothered by Nissan's decision not to offer the even-more-solid japanese-market fixed-roof coupe in the States. Under the new Z's T-roof glass sits perhaps the most beautiful and efficient cockpit in the sports-car kingdom. The instrument panel blends seductive curves and handsome materials. The gauges are clear, conspicuous analog dials. Ancillary controls nestle on easy-to reach pods surrounding the wheel. The steering wheel itself is a meaty three spoke design that feels hefty and reassuring in your palms. The leather-wrapped shifter sits close at hand. Tasteful fabric trims the doors, the console, and the dash. And the seats are deeply sculptured, easy to adjust, and extremely comfortable. (Our test car's thrones were covered in optional leather-part of a $1000 option package-but natty-looking cloth seats are standard.) Trust us: sports-car cockpits don't get any better than this. We still have a couple of gripes, though. The first concerns the optional automatic climate control system. Designed to be a set-and-forget unit, this system instead behaves as a set and reset-and-override-and-get-annoyed unit. It offers only two manual fan speeds, and there is no way to channel the airflow where you want it. Although we didn't have a chance to try the standard, manual climate-control system which offers four fan speeds and five options for air routing-it should be far more accommodating. We also have a few complaints about the optional Bose sound system. We don't claim to be audio experts, but we agree as a group that this system-like some other Bose units we've sampled sounds undistinguished. And it has no fade or balance controls whatsoever, obviously implying that Bose knows better than the users of its systems how these parameters should be set. Happily, there is an easy solution to both of our cockpit gripes: skip the optional electronic power package. You'll give up the heated rear-view mirrors and the power controls for the driver's seat, but you'll bypass the automatic climate-control system and the Bose stereo-and save $1600. Enough talk of sound systems and cabin accouterments. You want to know the serious stuff, the power and the glory, the fury and the dust. The power is provided by a version of Nissan's fine 60-degree 3.0-liter V-6, but it's been so thoroughly reworked that you wouldn't recognize it. The new engine sports twin cams, 24 valves, pent roof combustion chambers with centrally located spark plugs, electronic fuel injection, new intake and exhaust manifolds, and a variable intake-valve-timing system for improved performance throughout the rev band. Horsepower is up to 222 at 6400 rpm more than in last year's Turbo-and torque is increased to 198 pound-feet at 4800 rpm. * I describe my listings as accurately as possible! 1990 Nissan Maxima SE Ok all you Maxima lovers---you don't see many 3rd gen Maximas with this few miles and clean interior. PLEASE read the whole listing before bidding/buying/submitting offers. Less than 155k miles VG3000 3.0L V6 engine 5 speed manual transmission Spoiler Sunroof Power windows Power doors CD/MP3CD player Dark gray exterior Clean dark gray interior Clean Tennessee title The good: runs great starts up immediately every time interior is nice and clean (non-smoking) recently replaced all 6 injectors (that cost me a bunch) recently replaced rear main seal recently replaced intake manifold gasket recently replaced gas vapors line recently replaced clutch fixed an exhaust leak gave it a tuneup (new plugs/wires/ajusted fuel trim) The bad: Car runs well, but is leaking quite a bit of oil from the front seal and also it burns oil (smokes blue smoke, and misses a little when you start it up sometimes). Because of the smoking I believe it needs a ring job. We still drive it and it drives fine, but because of this I wanted to sell this car to someone who could fix it or have it fixed. The other items below are the cosmetic or minor issues: Some of the clear coat is coming off, like just about any car a few years old. There is some paint missing on the rear bumper (see photos), and a small patch on the front bumper. Also, the temperature gauge has a loose connection where the wire plugs into the thermostat, so it works only sometimes (the thermostat is fine, it's just the dial on the dash that doesn't always read). AC does not work---was told it would just need a recharge when I got the car, but I don't know (haven't had it checked or messed with). All the AC stuff is there though (compressor/pipes/etc.) Heat works great. The radio antenna was broken off (I don't listen to the radio so I never fixed this). The sunroof interior door (the panel underneath the sunroof you slide back and forth in the roof manually) is off track or something, so when the sunroof opens you have to mess with it to get it to close properly. The car needs a bath too lol so the pictures aren't very flattering :-) I am not the original owner of the car, however I was told that all the regular maintenance was kept up on it.
