Amazing condition pathfinder with the much-coveted TD27 turbo diesel engine built to go a million miles.....google it. No computers, no timing belt/chain (valve train is gear driven), cast iron cylinder head. AMAZING fuel economy...travelling from Washington state to Tucson average a bona fide 30 mpg (highway)....500 miles on a tank. Yes, you read that correctly.....mileage equal to a Honda Civic in a 4wd SUV. Combined city/highway it averages a true 27mpg. It is a little sluggish accelerating compared to the V6 gas, but has brutish low end torque and will pull hard at low rpm. The diesel conversion is at an excellent standard. There is no chopping /hacking or "rigging". Odometer reads 200,000.....entire driveline has 160,000 kms or 100,000 miles. The transmission, transfer case, driveshafts and differential are identical to the gas version, the diesel transmission control is installed to lower the shift points. The vehicle starts, stops ,runs, steers and rolls perfectly, and can be driven anywhere today with confidence. Runs cool and smooth, NO issues. I have put many miles on the truck, and never a hiccup. Truck is in excellent condition with exceptional maintenance...2 owners. The brakes, suspension, steering, tires, battery are all excellent. I am a retired auto mechanics instructor and have cared for the truck exceptionally well....it has always been babied.The paint is original and the vehicle has never been hit, and carries a clean Arizona title. There are a few tiny dings and scratches, but the sheet metal/paint condition is remarkable for the age of the vehicle.....NEVER off-roaded. The dent of minor consequence is on the driver side rear door (see pics), but you have to look for it. The paint is not broken, so a good paintless dent guy could make it right at very low cost. Interior is mint.....see photos. Seats are original and excellent, dash is uncracked, and the carpet is excellent for the age of the truck. The rear of the truck has been plastic covered since new, so the rear carpet is perfect. All controls, lights, accessories,fans, operate correctly with 2 exceptions.....the tach does not work as there is no ignition pulse (spark) to trigger. I do have the diesel tach but have not installed as to do so requires complete disassembly of the instrument cluster....I will include the diesel tach with the sale if you want to attempt installation. I did not risk messing things up, as it is a diesel(rpm limited by injection pump) and automatic, so who needs a tach anyway? Also, the engine is equipped with the OEM 45 amp alternator whereas the V6 has a 65 amp. This is absolutely no problem...at night though the alternator indicator light is faintly glowing ( cannot see in daylight) at idle only. As soon as the accelerator is touched it goes out. I have tested the system for voltage and amperage, and all is good, even at idle. NEVER an issue, even on the coldsest mornings, the engine lights up instantly. Battery is oversized to ensure such. One prudent modification I have done is to wire the transmission for manual lockup. At highway speed, these transmissions ( all V6 pathfinders and D21 trucks) tend to hunt in and out of lockup mode, particularly in hilly areas. This can be quite annoying.....read online as this is a common complaint. The truck is now wired such that on entering a highway, an illuminated switch is tripped in the cabin, and the transmission locks up in high gear and the rpm drops to where the diesel is REALLY comfortable and efficient. If you prefer, the system can be returned to factory in 5 seconds under the hood by changing a simple connection.....easy peasy. But I suspect you will cahange it back as the manual lockup is so nice. Your choice. It is equipped for A/C internally, but I never installed the compressor/condensor as summers spent in the Pacific northwest and winters in Tucson. AC componentry from an 86 to 97 4 cylinder Nissan D21 pickup could be installed easily....under dash stuff is all there. Do your research....the td27 turbodiesel engines alone cost about 2500 bucks used.....All bread and butter maintenance parts-filters, belts, etc.are available at autozone etc., and the major components--starter, alternator etc. Are available online. Nissan used this motor extensively around the globe. I would not hesitate to leave today for a 1000 mile trip.

The first generation of the legendary Nissan Terrano ( Pathfinder )! The first generation Pathfinder was originally introduced as a two-door SUV, and shared styling and most components with the Nissan Hardbody Truck. Built on a ladder-type frame, the Pathfinder was Nissan's response to the Chevrolet Blazer, Ford Bronco, Jeep Cherokee, and non-American SUVs like the Toyota 4Runner, Isuzu Trooper, and the Mitsubishi Montero. Before the Pathfinder there was the Nissan Bushmaster (an aftermarket conversion of the Datsun Truck), but they are rare as well. One of the features that was unique at the time was an optional 4WD system that could be engaged electronically while the vehicle was moving, mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. All WD21 Pathfinders were available in both 2WD and manually engaged 4WD configurations, with base models installed with a 2.4 L four cylinder engine. In certain countries this generation also came with a 2.7 L I4 Diesel Engine known as the TD27 with the option of a turbocharger installed later in November 1988. In Japan, it was exclusive to Nissan Bluebird Shop locations, where it was called the Nissan Terrano (in Japanese) as a smaller companion to the larger Nissan Safari. While the Pathfinder/Terrano was essentially based on the newly introduced Hardbody truck, the rear five link coil suspension was borrowed from the Safari to enhance its off-road abilities. The two door version shared a design appearance with the second generation Nissan EXA, and was installed with the VG30E Nissan V6, that was shared with the Fairlady ZX. As the Japanese market Terrano was regarded as a luxury vehicle, with an emphasis on outdoor leisure activities, the Terrano was introduced to Japanese buyers as an off-road, back country Fairlady ZX. To emphasize this marketing approach, the Terrano was available with optional features not normally found on other budget-minded vehicles. Some of the upmarket features offered to Japanese buyers were climate-controlled air conditioning, electrically-powered windows, seats, door locks, as well as other optional features. In 1993, Recaro seats were offered to Japanese buyers. Nissan's sports division Autech offered special equipment packages to Japanese buyers as well, introducing the "Wide R3M Urban" and the "AJ Limited". The front doors were slightly shortened to accommodate the rear doors. Thanks for viewing! I am selling my longterm off and on project 240sx. I rarely drive the car. I have many other projects that I am tied up in, and this car has spent the last several years just sitting at my mom's house. I purchased it in original condition from a girl in college, but with the original engine knocking. I eventually settled on a sr20 swap. The chassis has 161310 miles on it, I estimate the engine has about 70k on it. The engine has been upgraded with a s15 t28 turbo with a billet cartridge(less than 2000 miles on it) The stage 3 performance clutch has about 5500 miles on it. I am only running wastegate pressure at 7 psi, so I have not been beating up on the car. I have done many modifications over the years. The car was repainted in May of 2014. The front end was swapped to OEM Nissan Silvia front end parts. Although the paint shop messed up the factory spoiler, I do still have it. The car has 17 inch 5zigen fn0r1c wheels with 225/35zr17 toyo proxes t1r tires(about 2000 miles on the rubber) I have upgraded the suspension to Stance coilovers, SPL arms in the rear and z32 brakes all around. The master cylinder is from a wd21 pathfinder, and the hardlines on the firewall have been deleted. The rear diff was swapped in favor of a vlsd rear diff. I have just installed a new OEM Nissan knock sensor, along with stainless steel steering rack lines, and urethane rack bushings. I also just did a coolant flush, LOF, and spark plugs. Brake fluid was flushed about 14 months ago. I have a stainless steel power steering pressure line, but it has not been installed since the factory hose is not leaking. In its current condtion, it is a very reliable and fun street car. I do not drift at all, and the car has never been drifted. Up until Christmas, I may have driven the car 100 miles a month, if that. I only started regularly driving the car recently, so she would not be sitting up so much. The main issues with the car is the gauge cluster. At night, with the lights on, sometimes the cluster will not light up. The digital speedometer goes in and out a bit too, but its a very common problem on the digital cluster optioned models. There are writeups on the net for fixing the issue. The windshield is cracked, and the weather stripping on the front and rear glass will need to be replaced. The interior is all there, although the dash is cracked (very common on 240sx ) There is a Defi boost gauge, and a period correct GReddy timer inside. The Kenwood deck works great, and the factory speakers have been replaced as well. AC works, but will need a vacuum and recharge. I had to replace a hose that had burned through, and have not had time to recharge. It was working prior though. The rear defrost works, as does the sunroof and power windows. In the pictures, you can see a small dent on the driver side fender where I left my other car in neutral, and it rolled about 10 feet and tapped the fender. It did not take paint, just put a small dent. I can push it out by hand so, it's not too serious. Overall, this is a very mature 240 with a decent amount of work done to it. It runs and drives great with no noises or anything. The exhaust is very quiet and not intrusive at all. It needs just a little bit of polishing to make this a very nice example.
