This van has served us well. It was used by me before being handed down to my daughter. I got my daughter another car instead of the 'minivan look', and this van now gets used sparingly. It has a new battery, it is registered through 2016, and past smog this past summer for the new registration. AC Blows Cold.Heater Blows Warm. Very clean interior (above Average condition) for the year and considering it is a minivan. Exterior has some scratches and light dings here and there (average wear), but nothing out of the ordinary for the age. Seats adjust in the back to remove/move Bench seats to make it a nice Cargo Van that is decent on Gas Mileage. The van does not have a Radio, and the REAR AC/Heat System stopped working earlier this year. The Front AC/Heat work great and do enough to keep rear passengers comfortable.The tires have tread left on it, but could and should be replaced when you are ready. The Van Starts Easy. (It likes to have a good warm-up on these cold mornings)Brakes well.Steering is good.Gets good gas mileage, about 20mpg average city and hwy mix. These vans are known for bad motor mounts. This one was replaced a couple years ago along with the passenger lower ball joints. It does have a cracked windshield. I put resin on it, its not very visible when driving, but it is there. The Visors are switched from driver to passenger. I will explain further when you pick up the van. I really don't want to sell the van, as the price value doesn't really match how well the van runs but we need space and I don't want to spend more money on registrations/smog/insurance for a van that barely gets used anymore. For an extra Price, I do have additional wheels and tires available and will show you them when you pick up the van. During Summer of this year this van was driven to Stockton Ca and back to LA. I let a relative use it as he had visitors, it was also driven to Yosemite National Park and then back to LA. By the same relative, it was again driven to San Diego and back to LA. Very Reliable! The van is not perfect. It has its average defects here and there. But as is, it can be driven and has been driven reliably for the past year and past Smog easily. For the price, and for the value, you are getting a great vehicle. Just don't expect it to be perfect when you aren't paying for a perfect price. If buyer wants me to re-Smog it for sale, ADD $80 to final price to complete smog fees. I am the second owner. The first was a Bay Area physician. This is a well-treated van with clean interior, original paint (a couple dings) and engine that runs great. No leaks. Mileage is 24 per gallon highway, 18 city. Tranny shifts smooth. Carpeting very clean. Original leather front seats were in poor shape, so I changed them out for a very nice pair of fabric seats from another Villager. Leather seats remain in the rear. In all candor, she feels like a vehicle maybe 7 years old. Drives more quietly and smoothly than my two 1999 Villagers. One of them has higher miles, the other lower. Sails through California smog certification. If unfamiliar with the Villager (a Nissan Quest clone, though superior because of the digital dash added by Ford), these babies drive like small cars, tight maneuvering and a turn radius that kicks the snot out of my Dodge Caravan. Unlike ALL other minivans, the rear window opens. Unlike all other 1990s minivans except the Caravan through 1995, the side windows crack open and do so manually (no power required). That means if parked during the summer and not driving, one can open those windows by hand during the day. PS: I always try parking in the shade and nearly always manage to find some despite needing to then walk further to the store or wherever. The Mercury Villager is a largely hidden jewel in the world of minivans. Far superior to the Toyota Sienna of those years. It beat the Dodge Caravan because of offering a sunroof and opening rear window. Ford vans of that time were not worth comparing. Nissan had the Quest, though with no digital dash and included computer information center (outside temp, mpg, miles till empty, etc). Some people like myself will drive hundreds of miles to find a luxury edition model that has been treated right. So I figured on trying an eBay listing to let those reasonably nearby know that one is on the market.
