1994 SAAB 900 TURBO CONVERTIBLE One of the last ones... clean, rust-free, carefully maintained, incredibly original. 133,000 miles. Perfect color - Scarab green with camel tan leather and tan top. Florida and Virginia car for most of its life Original manuals and 10+ years of maintenance records. PROS: * Turbo still hearty * Transmission recently serviced. * Smooth tracking and handling - tires are very young - 75% life left * Paint and interior both in nice condition shape for age - only very minor patina overall - no significant tears or dings. * Top is showing some superficial age (because it's a light color) but functions perfectly and is still dry and tight (no back window separation). * All power options function as they should. * Last two years of service by a dedicated Saab specialist in Virginia. * Upgraded radio and AC. * No dash warning lights - ABS, SRS, Etc.! It all works as it should! * Premium wood dash package professionally installed with dash cover. * Lightly tinted windows (which help a lot!) * Factory wheels in terrific condition. * Recently passed Virginia safely inspection thru 2017. * Even the clock works! CONS: * Typical Saab 900 dash cracks - not too bad overall * Interior has some minor leather cracking around seams on front seats - not bad at all but there. * Drivers-side leather inside door sill showing typical wear (driver's elbows) * Typical very light scuffs and tiny dings befitting a 23 year old car - but still very nice! * Muffler is new but is 900 spec and not 900 Turbo - may want to replace to unleash more power. * Top is solid but aging as noted above. * Black spoiler trim around top could use a fresh coat of black. Still good and solid. * Automatic not as quick as a manual transmission but a very comfortable and competent cruiser All in all, a wonderful touring car that still turns heads and is a pleasure to drive. I recently drove it from Palm Beach to Charlottesville and it was very solid. Can provide mechanic references to Saab experts in Virginia who know the car well. I'm only selling because I have three vintage 900s (and a 9-5 Aero) and a garage that only holds two! Hoping for new owner who cares for it as much as we do! DESCRIPTION This 1994 Saab 9000 Aero is being sold in the same condition as it was when I purchased it in Nov. 2013. It has been a No. Cal/AZ car always. After driving it only about 8500 miles from his initial purchase (at circa 182K miles), the previous owner had a connecting rod thrown through engine block/case in September of 2013 and sold it to me for the price I have set for BUY IT NOW. IT IS NOT STARTABLE OR DRIVEABLE. This is an IDEAL car to put back on the road if you have access to a 1994-1998 2.3l block to replace the one still in the car. AGAIN: BLOCK HAS A HOLE IN IT FROM CONNECTING ROD AND IT CANNOT SIMPLY BE REBUILT. NEW BLOCK IS A MUST. It is WAY too good of an example to part out and/or scrap. What it has going for it, and why it's worth saving: *CLEAN AND CLEAR ARIZONA TITLE: NO salvage or restored. Title notarized and signed by prev. owner to me, however I HAVE NOT done new title in my name as smog is required in my state in order to issue a new title with my name….and as the car doesn't run, obviously this bit won't happen. New-Owner signature fields on back of title ARE blank and can be filled in by whomever purchases at least for Arizona purposes. Check requirements in your own state, but I do not foresee any dramas with any of this. *OEM Saab Keys, owners manuals, radio code card and removal tools and OEM manuals case. *Straight/rust free non-TCS (not traction control) 5-speed Aeros do not exist in the U.S. in any great number. This (as you know) is the most powerful and torquey 9000 ever made with full factory Aero suspension/Turbo/Braking specification. *Unthrased Black leather Aero/Recaro interiors are SUPER Scarce on their own (and I think you can install these front AND back seats into a Saab 900 with little to no modifications) this Original Aero / Recaro black leather interior is in REALLY good condition--NO rips, NO real problems: Driver seat cushion has a very small seam separation (see pics). No cushion foam degradation. Legendary comfort--anyone who has driven in these will tell you . Both Front seat backs have a slight amount of "twist/flex" but not so bad you can't stand to sit in them. Internal Cables need readjustment. BUT ALL ELECTRICAL FUNCTIONS/SEAT MOTORS DO WORK. Mileage on the car is up there--car does show *some* age, but it is far from being a beater. Quite good, really. But obviously not a mint/showroom example. Looks more like a moderately used 10-12 year old car. Oh…typical of '94 model year, the horn buttons do not stay on the steering wheel, but the buttons are still with the car. This is a 1994 model and the steering column is NOT tilt/telescopic. That's '95 and up only, I believe. *Fully working electrics (last checked in July--I've had battery disconnected this whole time, but with AZ summer heat it may be completely flat now). Bring your own if you want to verify these functions again: Windows, sunroof, wipers, all lights/signals, trip computer, dash lights, stereo and displays, ventilation fan blower, EVERYTHING worked in July 2015. The console button for central locking DOES blow a fuse when you use it, though** *All locks including steering column work with key. Rear Hatch opens/closes/locks, but doesn't stay up without a hand due to it's shocks having perished over time *All 4 Super Aero 16" alloys **Saab/Clarion OEM CD/EQ stack is present, fully working (I have the security code and removal tools, also)--Easy $300 bucks on its own IF you can even find a good useable set. *Headliner is perfect as are door panels and carpets (though they could benefit from cleaning) *NO INTERIOR DAMAGE OR SMELLS--NON-SMOKING CAR, and no other funky/odd odors *ALL GLASS IS INTACT AND NICE *Original black paint with some light surface oxidation (this car will polish out quite nicely!) but NO burn or peel. *Underhood/engine bay: all there--nothing missing. Intercooler looks to be relatively newish/refurbed and engine mounts, too The entire car is COMPLETELY FACTORY STOCK--no electrical/stereo or engine/drivetrain modifications. ZERO RUST/ZERO CORROSION, no scary body damage or any body work/filler. It's QUITE straight, but has ONE shallow dent atop passenger front fender and a few light sidepanel/door dings. I DO have the Front AERO body kit under-bumper lip spoiler inside the car--it is cracked in 1/2 (prev. owner experience that damage when car through a rod and got towed) but it is easily repairable. *I think its two fog lamps are missing--I'll have to go over and look to verify again if you need to know this** I obviously have never driven the car so cannot tell you anything about things like a/c functionality, braking or any other drivetrain-related specifics. I do know that there's at least 1/2-3/4 tank of gas in the car when I bought it and it has sat nearly two years so that fuel will likely need to be evacuated and replaced if you elect to get the car running. MISC info in case you are interested: I hunted for just this spec car for a very long time and happily bought this with engine damage and all. Within a month I also purchased a 1997 9000CS 5-speed car (running) as the engine donor for this black one. Had the 9000cs towed 30 miles to a supposedly reputable mechanic to get that engine ready to install into the Aero you're looking at. Gave him the donor car, its title and 500 bucks to get the job started. He seems to have done a runner so up until now I've been paying storage on a car I really, really do not want to part with…not to mention all the time and money I am now out of. So, I really am only looking to recupe my initial investment into buying this black car. The value of just the interior, wheels, transmission and stereo is much more than my buy it now price, not to mention the aero bodykit--so no offers/lowballing please...

This is a very rare commemorative edition SAAB (#129 of 500). This is a very clean car for its age and the pictures prove it! NEVER WRECKED, and always garage kept and have all records of service since day one! We have invested more than 6K in it in the past 2 years to restore it. Inga (her name) is in very good condition, but please remember she is a 20 year old car. I have perfect eBay Feedback, and plan to keep it that way, so please read this vehicle description thoroughly. She has been very well taken care of (by us and the previous owner) but she has a nick here, scratch there, bumper fading, etc. U will be very very pleased with her. If you are looking for a great collector Saab, this is the one. That is why we bought her in the first place – we realized her collectability and we had an eye on her full restoration to former glory, but our daughter’s college expenses are a little more than we anticipated. We had her transported from NJ to TX, and registered her with www.saabce.com in Feb 2013. From the registry we were able to get this information: PREVIOUS REGISTRANT (Park Ave Lotus, Maywood, NJ, 6/2012, 70,050 mi.) Before it was traded in, it was a one owner car that was garage kept. Since purchasing her, I have put less than 10K miles on her! 100% of the maintenance was performed by the Saab specialists at French’s Foreign Car in Irving, Texas. We did have one bit of trouble with a water hose busting on the way home from Houston in November 2012. We spent nearly $7000 repairing the subsequent engine damage, which included top end engine damage. Just to be safe, French’s advised we rebuild the engine, but we had a donor engine from a parts car we had previously purchased (my first Saab). The donor car was a 1988 Turbo Convertible with less than 60k miles (but with terminal underbody rust - which is why it was a donor car). Anyway, we spent almost $7k getting everything back ship-shape. NOTE: We kept the CE APC, distributor, and fuel regulator and put them on the '88 engine. Car runs perfectly and the only issues we’ve had this past year were a blown convertible top fuse, and a distributor oil leak (both were just fixed this past week). 1 scratch on driver’s side by the back wheel well. Scratch was there when we purchased. Also driver’s side seat has a hole (shown in photos) which was there when purchased and we have not repaired and it has not gotten any bigger. Seat recline mechanism is broken and have not replaced (there is a broken cable inside the seatback, which can be changed). Seats move forward and back just fine, just move out of kilter when you try to recline back beyond a normal driving position. This has not been an issue for us. We do not know if the top is original or has been replaced. The top is in ‘good’ condition, but does have some wear marks on it (most likely from being in the down position on gorgeous days). Absolutely no tears or leakage, but if you want this car to be a pristine collector car, it will need a new top sometime down down the road. The special “commemorative edition” wrap-around spoiler used to have a problem on the right side door, but we changed it out from a CE donor car French’s had on their lot. Michelin tires; treads are in excellent condition. She also has new windshield wiper blades. NO DASH CRACKS – a true testament to how well she has been taken care of. Next steps if we were to keep her are below. She runs GREAT and looks even better, but we're big believers of Karma, so the following is a short list of the items we had on our restoration list this year:Replace existing battery with a heavy duty battery. Where the battery is located is next to the turbo and does get a bit warm (thanks Saab! - especially in the hot Texas heat. Tom at French’s said that a heavy duty battery is called for, and this would be the next item we looked at.Both front seats require a cable be changed inside the seats. They look fine and move up out of the way to allow back seat access, but when we try to recline them back past a normal driving position, the seatbacks start to tilt. Kinda weird, but we're told this is a fairly common thing on the Saab seats of that era.One of the supporting brackets behind the left headlight is broken. Headlight works great, but needs that bracket repaired before the weight of the glass light fatigues the other mounts.Very light power steering leak. French’s said this is not a big deal and we just keep the power steering fluid filled properly and have had no issues.Very slow brake fluid leak. Same as other leak, we keep checking the fluid level and fill when needed (which has been once in 2 years)Consider upgrading fuses with higher amp ones – this might also help in the Texas heat (per French's).In the next couple years, we planned to replace the top.If we were to improve her with an eye on full restoration, we would start changing some of the brake calipers and other underside suspension components and hardware. The swedes are great at engineering, but not so much on corrosion protection. The good news is there is no body or underbody rust (cancer). If you want the underside to be pristine, just keep an eye on ebay auctions and start replacing individual components as they become available. NOTE: Every effort is being made to accurately describe a very special 20 year old car. We welcome inspections and encourage all potential buyers to see her in the flesh.
