96 RMW 96k Up for bid is a 1996 Buick Roadmaster Limited Estate Wagon iwith 96k two owner miles. Collector's Edition like every other '96 Buick Roadmaster. Lifelong Florida car. Car has a salvage title due to getting hit on the right front fender and bumper - since body parts are not available new, these total easily, but I hoard parts for these cars and good parts which I installed. Boasting GM's Corvette inspired multiport injected 5.7L LT1 V8 engine and 4L60E 4 speed automatic transmission, she puts down plenty of power. Tow package 2.93 limited slip rear end (GW9 & G80 build codes). Trailer preparation "tow package" means the factory rated the car to pull 5000 lbs but has no hitch (despite trailer prep name, these did not come from the factory with hitches so all hitches are aftermarket.) Condition Report ENGINE: Runs on all eight cylinders without smoking, missing or knocking. Engine runs at proper temperature. Newer battery & good charging system. Starts easy and runs strong. Good maintenance per Carfax. TRANSMISSION: Performs beautifully. Engages gears quickly and shifts through all forward gears and reverse with good downshift and torque converter performance. Clean fluid with no burn odors. EXTERIOR:Body: Body is exceptionally straight and solid. Very straight down the sides with NO rust. Not so much as a door ding - very nice body. Paint: Paint is very nice for age and all original except right front fender and front bumper cover. Has two small scratches. Above average for age. Wood: Upper wood trim has been removed, painted, and reinstalled. The side panel fake wood is in great shape (still shiny, not faded) with a couple minor nicks. Other: Lower stainless bright trim is very nice with no notable dings. Front bumper stainless trim has a small ding on the driver's side. Rubber side trim is all there. Windshield and all other glass are good with no chips or cracks. Original Sungate windshield. Undercarriage is extremely solid with no rust - see the pics. Underhood sheet metal and tailgate sill and door jambs (areas where these cars tend to rust) are flawless as seen in pics. Aluminum wheels are in good shape with no pitting but a little staining. INTERIOR: Interior of the car is very nice and reflective of low miles. Dash has no cracks and is still shiny. Leather seating areas are in great shape, leather is still soft, some wear on driver's seat as seen in pics. Carpet in seating area is very nice, cargo deck carpet in good shape. Headliner is nice - not sagging - no tears. Steering wheel is in nice shape. No smoke or pet odors. Has all four factory floormats in super nice shape. Exceptionally nice interior overall. ELECTRICAL STUFF: All inspection items work (lights, horn, wipers, etc.) The power antenna doesn't work (you can raise and lower manually), but all other power options work reliably, including power windows, power locks, dual power seats with power recliners and power lumbar control, hot heat and cold A/C, tilt, cruise, am/fm stereo cassette, keyless entry, rear window release, rear wiper, twilight sentinel, intermittent wipers, and rear defroster. DRIVEABILITY: Drives out very nicely as you'd expect of low miles. Steering is tight, alignment is dead on, suspension is tight. Brakes work well with good linings all around. Tires have about 20% tread remaining on a matched set of good quality whitewall radials. New lower ball joints, recently aligned (with good specs report from Firestone.) Solid, quiet exhaust with no leaks. Check engine light is not lit (except at start up as it should.) No complaints - drive anywhere. Windshield and all other glass are good with no chips, cracks or scratches. Undercarriage is absolutely beautiful - never undercoated and still spotless as seen in pics. Underhood sheet metal/wheelhouses are spotless. Tailgate sill and door jambs have zero rust as seen in pics. Aluminum wheels are in great shape with no fading or clearcoat peeling. INTERIOR: Interior of the car is in exceptionally nice shape as expected of low miles. The ONLY complaints are a small cut in the vinyl on the back of the drivers seat, and some discoloration on the hump on the rear seat carpet. Dash has no cracks. Leather seating areas are in great shape, leather is still soft. Trailer preparation "tow package" means the factory rated the car to pull 5000 lbs but these did not come from the factory with hitches so all hitches are aftermarket. The side panel fake wood is in great shape (still shiny, not faded). Theres one scratch in the wood on the drivers door as seen in pictures. Other: Lower stainless bright trim is mostly in good shape. Front bumper stainless is near perfect. There are dings on left rear quarterpanel and left rear corner pieces. Rubber side trim is all there. Windshield and all other glass are good with no chips, cracks or scratches. Undercarriage is remarkably solid for origin - see the pics. Underhood sheet metal/wheelhouses have some blisters as seen in pics, tailgate sill and door jambs are solid as seen in pics. Hubcaps are in good shape - shiny and no curb rash. INTERIOR: Interior of the car is in nice shape. There are some stains in the cargo area carpet, and a tiny tear on the drivers seat as seen in pics. Dash has no cracks, cloth seating areas are in great shape and seats are very clean. Carpet in seating area is in good shape. Headliner is nice - not sagging. Steering wheel is in nice shape. 96 RMW 144k Up for bid is a 1996 Buick Roadmaster Limited Estate Wagon with 144k two owner miles. Collectors Edition like every other 96 Roadmaster. Originally a northern car so has some rust underneath as seen in pics and left lower quarterpanel has had rust repaired. Loaded up with power everything. Boasting GMs Corvette inspired multiport injected 5.7L LT1 V8 engine and 4L60E 4 speed automatic transmission, she puts down plenty of power. Tow package 2.93 limited slip rear end (GW9 & G80 build codes). Trailer preparation "tow package" means the factory rated the car to pull 5000 lbs but has no hitch (despite trailer prep name, these did not come from the factory with hitches so all hitches are aftermarket.) Delivers consistent 16 in town and 24 highway at 70 mph. Clean history - send me your email address and Ill send you the history report. Runs and drives great - drive anywhere. Questions? Good battery & good charging system. Starts easy and runs strong. TRANSMISSION: Performs beautifully. Engages gears quickly and shifts through all forward gears and reverse with good downshift and torque converter performance. Clean fluid with no burn odors. EXTERIOR: Body: Body is dead straight down the sides. Lower left quarter has had rust repair but looks good. Some other minor rust spots around wheel openings. Small dent on tailgate as seen in pics. View images full size to see details. Paint: Paint is very nice for age. Some minor chips and scratches, and one paint blister on roof as seen in pics. Wood: Upper wood trim has some peeling. The side panel fake wood is in great shape (still shiny, not faded). Other: Lower stainless bright trim is very nice with two small notable dings on left rear quarterpanel and right front bumper. Rubber side trim is all there. Windshield and all other glass are good with no chips, cracks or scratches. Undercarriage has some rust scale - see the pics. Underhood sheet metal/wheelhouses were patched. I will include a pair of nice southern wheelhouses with car for you to install. Tailgate sill and door jambs have some rust as seen in pics. Small crack in right taillight housing. Hood ornament was broken off, so I installed one from a 95 (in case you notice its the wrong one for the year.) Aluminum wheels are in good shape with a few spots of clearcoat peeling. INTERIOR: Interior of the car is in very nice shape. Dash has no cracks and is still shiny. Leather seating areas are in great shape, leather is still soft. Carpet in seating area is very nice, cargo deck carpet in good shape. Headliner is nice - not sagging. Steering wheel is in nice shape. No smoke or pet odors. Very nice interior overall. ELECTRICAL STUFF: All inspection items work (lights, horn, wipers, etc.) Seat heaters dont work but all other power options work reliably, including power windows, power locks, dual power seats with power lumbar and recliners, hot heat and cold A/C, tilt, cruise, am/fm stereo cassette, power antenna, keyless entry, rear window release, rear wiper, twilight sentinel, intermittent wipers, and rear defroster. DRIVEABILITY: Drives out very nicely. Steering is tight, alignment is dead on, suspension is tight. Brakes work well with about 40% lining remaining. Tires have about 80% tread remaining on a matched set of good quality whitewall radials, including a matched tire for the spare. Solid, quiet original stainless stell exhaust with no leaks. Check engine light is not lit (except at start up as it should.) No complaints - drive anywhere. Short version terms: Small non-refundable deposit as listed (but fast) by Paypal within 24 hours. You are bidding on a 1996 Buick Roadmaster wagon; and it's an original wood-delete car. You won't find a better one for this price. I bought this car in Arizona in 2009 from the original owner when it had 32,000 miles on it. I am the second owner. The car is in excellent condition, as you can see in the pictures. The windows are factory-tinted. Since I've owned it, it has been garaged and rarely driven in winter. 1996 was the final year of production for this car. The accident listed in the AutoCheck report involved a broken rear tail light, and a scuffed bumper cover: both replaced with new parts. This car has been equipped with Monroe severe service shocks up front, Severe service coilover shocks in the back, and an optional rear sway bar. It is also equipped with the optional tow package and limited-slip differential. It's not a Formula 1 car, but it is deceptively fast and corners very well. The LT-1 V8 looks and runs like new. It is also capable of 22 mpg on regular gas. The sound system is new: a JVC AM/FM/CD USB system, iPod compatible. The tires are near-new General Altimax 235/70/15. There is also a second set of wheels bearing 4 Bridgestone Blizzak 235/70/15 snow tires (also near-new): about $1000 worth of extra tires and rims. The car is for sale locally, and also listed on Craigslist in Rochester, NY, so the offer to sell it on eBay could end before the listing end-date. If you want it, the price is fixed. If you want to drive this one home, I can pick you up at the Rochester airport (ROC) once payment is received and we arrange a mutually agreeable date and time.
