Needing a truck instead of SUV. This has a tow package, luggage rack, third row seating. 4x4 and it works hi and low. Mechanically sound. Starts and drives great. Running strong with 238xxx miles. Lot of tread left in tires. AC doesn't work, don't know why. Heat blows in rear but not up front, was but not since getting heating coil replaced. Have not taken time to find out. Minor issues that I'm sure are easily fixed. I'm wanting a truck that is currently for sale so need to sell this asap. If I sell somewhere else this will be taken down. Poos. Passenger door does not work from inside only outside. We've been rolling window down to open door from inside. 4x4 works.

Item up for bid is a 96' Chevy 1500 1/2 TON Suburban 4x4 with a Tow Package that had belonged to my father which he had drove as a daily driver up until he passed away a few months ago.. I have had it parked inside a storage unit since and have been driving it once a week since then..It does need some care every now and then by adding coolant every week or so. However tbis SUV not only gets GREAT GAS MILAGE compared to others but it huals trailers luke theyre not even there..There is no stereo in the vehicle..This is a 1/2 Ton with a tow package and does include the third row seat the rear seats do fold down and the third seat is removable allowing for a lot more room to put your things. The AC does work however it does not blow cold air. I think that it just needs to be charged to blow cold air again. The engine is a 5.7L V8 Vortec OHV 16v and it DOES RUN GOOD and STRONG even when towing a car and trailer with no struggle or issues. I really dont want to sell this vehicle but being that I have a new car and being it is my dads vehicle he wouldn't want this one to sit and go to waste. So therefor it is for sale.

1996 Chevy Diesel Suburban K2500 4WD, 220,000 miles, Pampered pet that has enjoyed blank check maintenance, has the desirable and fuel efficient 6.5 Turbo Diesel engine, 4.10 gearing with the 4LE80 overdrive transmission, manual transfer case and the highly desirable "F" model engine, recent upgrades include late model wheel and tire package, duramax fan, remote OPS, injection pump, remote PMD, upgraded transmission cooler lines, a/c compressor, performance exhaust, Bilstein shocks, new fuel tank pump and sending unit, front end rebuilt with new parts including pitman arm, has running bars and brake controller, no rust, 9 passenger with unique front bench/ bucket style seat with fold down center armrest. This vehicle has been used by us primarily for towing transportation to and from our Maine lake cabin every year (1,500 miles each way) and reliability is paramount. It has government history and there is no evidence of any accidents. 20 mpg not towing on the highway even with the towing gearing. These vehicles have a cult-like following and there is a lot of aftermarket support. The 6.5 /6.2 is used in the HumVees so parts are readily available. This is an early generation Diesel and while it does not have Duramax power but parts are a fraction of the cost of the newer diesels. There is no mistaking this is a Diesel between the engine noise and turbo whine with the free flowing exhaust. Very- very reliable over the 26,000+ miles I have owned. Negatatives: paint on roof weak and was showing some primer but has been touched up with aerosol color matched paint. Interior shows a little wear on outside edge of drivers seat. The Story: This Suburban was a local trade in, adult owned, garaged, non smoking and no pets. 3/4 ton big block 4x4 suburbans like this are very hard to find and most people hang to them forever as it the only non diesel 7 passenger SUV that will tow just about anything you put behind it with ease. This burb is super tight, runs and drives great, has gobs of power, completely rust free and is ready for some summer fun. I let my wife drive this beast for a couple days and she begged me to keep it, sorry "leadfoot" not gonna happen. I also own an 02 3/4 LT 4X4 burb with a factory 6.0 and lower miles that will become available soon. Options and Drive train:This big burb is equipped with a very 8.1powerful 5.9 (496) Vortec V8 engine, auto trans, 4WD, ice cold front/rear AC, power windows/locks, fog lights, tint, autoride suspension, leather (non smoking) interior, quad seats, DVD, Delphi II XM2go, 3rd row seating, cargo cover, tow package, adjustable pedals, expendable power tow mirrors, brakes are excellent, just installed 4 brand new AT tires on factory alloy wheels and pronaly more that I missed. We gave it a fresh oil change/filter service and it is turn key. Make a reasonable cash offer and you will own this suburban. Though in excellent overall condition, this a used 12 year old 4WD family SUV and as you would expect there are some imperfections. I am being very "nit-picky" on some of this stuff because I value my reputation/feedback and no one likes surprises. There is some damage and scrapes on the drivers side rear fender flare and body just in front of the fender (see photos) There are a few very small scratches and dings as you would expect on a 4X4 SUV of this age but nothing out of the ordinary There is wear damage on the side of the drivers seat bottom, a common GM issue ( see photos) There is staining in the drivers floor carpet under the mat (see photos) I'm hoping my detail guy can get some of this out or cover it with weather-tech liners and forget about it.
