1996 Nissan Maxima GXE, Auto, 169K, clear title JN1CA21D7TT720523Original family, my dad purchased it new in 1996 and I purchased it from him about two years ago. This car was a daily driver up until this past fall, in a nutshell we have five cars and this one gets the least amount of use. I try and drive it once a week to keep things moving, but 90% of the time it sits in the parking lot. Religious maintenance, there's even a sticker in the door jamb my dad made to keep track of mileage oil changes.Virtual Test drive :)https://youtu.be/L5xbo2AfwfYThe good:-Regular maintenance-New starter from O'Riley's-1.5 year old Costco battery-Rockford Fosgate front & Infinity rear speakers-Class 1 1 7/8" ball & hitch. (Used to pull a small motorcycle trailer)-Tinted windows-New lower radiator support(These are known to rust out on these cars and cause the engine to rock forward due to the mounts being bolted to this support)-Consistent 20-25mpg-Keyless entryThe not so good:-Intake manifold gasket could be replaced.(See oil residue on the intake manifold in under hood pic) No blue smoke while driving. (~$10 from Rockauto.com)-There is a light front "clunk & squeak" from the front suspension. The front A arm/lower control arm bushings are done and could use replacement. Doesn't affect driving, just a few sounds you will hear when the windows are down(~$35 for the whole arm or you can just swap the bushing for $7 per side, rockauto.com)-I replaced the front brakes about two years ago, but with as much as the car has sat, rust lines have developed on the rotors from where the brake pad sits while parked. This gives a similar pedal pulsing feel as warped rotors. After you put a few hundred miles it goes away, but it is present now. ( Four rotors and all pads are about $80 total, again rockauto.com) Rear brakes are due to be changed.(Pictured)-Tires have tread left, but could use replacing in the near future mild dry rot is starting to set in.-It could probably use an oil change, not because of mileage but the fact that I changed it last fall.-We just replaced a brake line to fix a leak due to a rusted line. From the looks of it, other lines are not far behind. The ugly:-It's been a Midwest car it's whole life. . ...there's rust along the bottom side skirt area as well as around the rear wheels. Rusty but not rusted out.-Seats are in great shape and clean, but the carpet is dirty from all the Chicago winters, could use a good cleaning.(No the car does NOT have any smells or odors :) )Overall it's a great A-B, get you where you need to go, starts every time(Except when the starter finally died!), daily driver that has served us well over the last 19 years. Toss $150 in parts at it and it will go for MANY more years!Trade for:-RUNNING street legal/titled motorcycles-Snap-On/Matco toolboxes(no carts)-Mazda Miata type sports car(may toss a little $$ on my end if interesting enough)-Pre 75 Cadillac+some cash on my end

Mileage: 145,900 Color: Green Blue Book value: $2,100 The good: -Leather Interior -Bose Stereo System with CD player -Paint: very good shape all around -Keyless Entry -Power Windows, Power Locks, Power Seats -Body: Everything is very good shape, one dent on rear right (above taillight in first pic) -Very clean interior - normal wear and tear on the front seats (some minor cuts in the leather). Rear seats are in very good shape. Work needed: -Hole in the exhaust (probably means it won't pass inspection without fixing). The Maxima SE again made Car and Driver magazine's Ten Best list for 1995 and 1996. The 1995's VQ30DE (3.0 litre) engine produced 190 hp (142 kW) and 205 lb·ft (278 N·m) of torque. With the manual transmission 0–60 mph took 6.6 seconds with a quarter mile time of 15.2-seconds at 92.4-mph, making it both the quickest and fastest (142 mph top speed) Japanese sedan on the North American market at that time.[citation needed] A top-of-the-line 1994 Maxima GLE equipped with a four-speed automatic transmission turned in a 8.0-second 0-60-mph run with a 16.0-second/89.4-mph quarter mile time.[10] At the time, the Maxima was one of few four-door, six-cylinder cars sold in North America with a standard manual transmission. A viscous limited slip differential came standard on Canadian SE models equipped with the 5-speed manual. The automatic was a no cost option, which most Maximas were equipped with. As the Maxima badge was retired in Japan, this particular generation was sold there as the Nissan Cefiro A32. The Cefiro badge had previously been used on aNissan Laurel-based, higher specification model with rear-wheel drive (see A31 Cefiro). For the Japanese market, a Cefiro-badged station wagon was also available. Hello, I have 1991 Maxima (Nissan), It is real rusty and has a bad auto transmission, that is the bad news, but the engine runs awesome, So essentially I am selling it for the engine. It will fit many other Nissans of a similar age. Has aftermarket CD player, runs great and drives, but 2nd and 3rd slip. Everything else works and it has fair tires. You can hear it run at my house and drive it, it drives good too, except for the tranny.. I have full and clear title. Not sure but think the engine has been done much more recently than the miles suggest. We got it for a high schooler to drive, and now she has a better car. The engine alone is probably worth a $1,000+ but, I want it gone. Again it always runs awesome and does not burn oil. Buyer must pick the car up within a week of auction. The buyer is responsible for verifying engine compatibility. The engine is the 3.0 liter V6, featuring a 190 hp (142 kW) VE30DE engine standard on the SE model starting in 1991. The VG30E was an engine that had been used in the previous Maxima, as well as the first generation Nissan 300ZX. I was told these also fit but, you are responsible for compatibility, this is just for reference. I am selling this because I purchased a 2010 Prius, not for the gas savings (I drive about 12,500 miles a year), but rather for the technology. I am the second owner of this Maxima. The vehicle was originally purchased from Empire Nissan, in Redlands, CA, in February, 2002, with all service previous to my purchase being performed at a Nissan dealership. I purchased this from a doctor in Redlands, CA, in January, 2007, when it had 82,357 miles on it. He sold it because his son was going to do a mission overseas for two years, so he was going to use his son's car, since he didn't need to have three cars. I have used premium (91 octane) fuel exclusively since the day of first purchase (see above for pictures of the first and last receipts), and have had this maintained by a Nissan mechanic who lives here in Carlsbad. I have all service and parts receipts, which I can show, but not give you for privacy reasons. The owners manual, navigation manual, warranty booklet, 2 key, 2 key FOBs, and other documentation, other than the window sticker, is included. The car has 180,564 miles on it as of November 8th, which is the last date that I used it for daily driving. I work from my house, and this is an average of 12,540 miles a year since purchase. I have filled it up (and fully topped it off) with premium fuel. Notable standard features for this model include: very rare 6 speed manual transmission, heated leather power driver and passenger seats, Bose audio with CD changer, navigation, sunroof (which I never used), and Xenon HID headlights. The car also has heated rearview mirrors, and a heated steering wheel, but I swapped the steering wheel for a non-heated version, due to wear on the top heating element. The upgrades that I have done to the car, primarily for enhanced safety, are: - Upgraded front brake rotors, front brake calipers, and front brake pads to the larger gen 6 Maxima brakes and rotors (12.6" on the gen 6, vs 11" on the standard gen 5.5 front rotor). These don't show up very well in daylight, but they are much brighter and whiter than the stock bulbs. - "Spray" vs "squirt windshield washers (from the gen 6 Maxima) and hybrid/more aerodynamic wiper blades - Matching full-size 17" alloy rim, with Yokohama Avid V4S spare tire in trunk, vs small, heavy, and ineffective doughnut emergency use tire - HeatShield windshield cover - Cargo net This car is my third Maxima (first was a white 1990, then a white 1996, then this silver 2002): safe, with front and side airbags, can go fast if you want it to, gets great gas mileage when you drive it appropriately, and flexible: it can be a very comfortable 5 person sedan, or with the rear seats down, can fit a piece of 10 foot PVC pipe from Home Depot. On the freeway from Irvine to Carlsbad I can get between 30 and 33 miles per gallon at less than 65mph, and if you exclusively drive on the freeway on a full tank it's around 27 to 29. The majority of my trips are around town, and I didn't distinguish between city and freeway driving: http://www.fuelly.com/car/nissan/maxima/2002/wea/281573 This car was *never* in an accident, and has some normal rock chips in the front bumper and hood, a scratch on the top front bumper, above the license plate, a scuff on the passenger bumper bottom side, some scuffs on the rear bumper, and a small scratch on the right passenger side, by the fuel door/rear fender. And yes, you can see that I even cleaned inside the fuel door. All of these scratches were caused by the original owner, not me. The interior is in great condition, with just one crack on the left side of the driver seat, and loose stitching on the front right side of the passenger seat. Nobody ever sat in the rear seats, and there is a little tear in the rubber weather sealing on the left rear passenger door compartment. All windows are original Nissan windows, shown in the pictures above. Typical for this model, three of the navigation/air conditioning buttons are loose and/or broken off, so when I rarely (never) use the air conditioning, I change the settings with a pin, or an Apple iPhone SIM ejector tool. There are cosmetic "titanium" covers over the door handles, door arm rest, and center console, and some of the covering is worn off on the driver door, and there are some scratches on the rear left interior passenger door handle cover. Cosmetically I'd say the car is in "very good" condition, and mechanically probably "good" condition. It is over 12 years old, after all. I have the clean title in hand, smog check passed on November 8th, with smog check details uploaded to the smog check verification web site on November 9th, 2014.
