I am listing this car for a friend's mother. I have for sale here a 1996 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera SL. It's a one owner clean title car. It currently has 174K on the original motor however the transmission was replaced in 2013. Its exterior color is green and interior is gray. It has power locks and manual crank windows. The A/C was serviced at some point in the past and works great. It's inspected until December of this year.
What was replaced in the past:
2014 -- Battery, spark plug/wires, radiator, motor oil/filter, valve cover gaskets, and intake tube.
2013 -- Replaced transmission, front brakes/fluid, resurface front rotors, replaced brake line union, replaced front motor mount. New muffler and tail pipe and cleaned EGR and vacuum lines.
2012 -- Repaired rear brake line
2010 -- MAP, ECT, EGR Valve and door hinges replaced.
2008 -- Heads Resurfaced and head gaskets replaced.
Can't recall exact dates but at some point over life of car -- AC System serviced and still works, Struts/shocks, tires, fuel filter/pump, heater core, alternator, and water pump.
Issues with car:
It seems with the A/C running (which works fine still) the cars temp gauge reads hotter than normal. However with the A/C off it appears to be normal? We are unsure if the car is experiencing a sticking thermostat, faulty engine temp sensor, or possible head gasket issue? However the heads and head gaskets were done in 2008 and it doesn't appear to be losing coolant or bubbling like it did when the head gasket was leaking prior. It is not doing this currently. The owner decided it was just time to get a new car instead of fixing this one. This could be a simple fix for a mechanic we are just unsure.
The check engine lights is on and the code indicated something to do with the EGR valve. The radio has power (shows clock) but doesn't play any sound. The shift indicator must be disconnected being when you change gears, it doesn't reflect on dash. The turn signal doesn't click off automatically when you turn one way if we recall. The car has some rust underneath but for an 18 year old car, it's not bad. Also the head light header panel was replaced so its not painted to match car.
The car is located in Southampton Pa 18966 and it available for a test drive. We are looking to get $1,200 OBO. You can email, call, or text Mike at 215-520-5786.
