These vehicles are safe, comfortable, durable and capable of very high mileage as well as reasonably efficient. Somewhat rare, the 5 speed manual transmission helps make an already good car better by making it fun to drive. This 850 wagon drives very well - as you would expect from a low mileage, one owner, local Southern car. It is in good mechanical condition and has been thoroughly serviced in preparation for sale. This included an oil change, tires balanced, timing belt service, control arm bushings replaced, new upper engine mount, new wiper blades, state inspection and cleanup. This car does not appear to have been garaged. The carpet and door panels are faded inside. The paint on the roof and hood is no longer glossy. The car still has less wear than most 850 wagons due to the low mileage and always being here (no rust) and not being smoked in. Had it been kept inside it would still be nearly perfect. Please note that on the Carfax, there is an accident showing for the left rear. The damage has not been fixed and is so minor that it should not have even been noted. This example is pretty basic compared to most 850's. It has the leather interior & integrated child booster seat and that's about it - no alloy wheels, no moon roof, no power seats, no turbo, no automatic transmission - or in other words, fewer items to go wrong. Clean title, smog & tags. Used daily for local driving mostly. This car is mechanically in top condition. The only two issues are the radio is dead (replacement can be found on ebay for $50 - $100) and the paint on the hood & roof has aged, the sides are fine. Everything works, every light bulb, every gauge, sunroof, electric seats, windows, ac, heating in the seats, everything except what is mentioned.The car is the premium version with all the options and has the wood finish trim, electric leather seats, third row seat, turbo engine with Sport/Economy transmission option, 16 inch chrome wheels & premium sound system. The instrument cluster has the trip computer option that calculates fuel use, average miles per gallon, avg speed and a number of other things like current temp outside, miles you can drive on current gas in the tank etc.The interior is in excellent condition & I mean excellent. The rear & third row seats have seen virtually no use, they look new. The driver seat as you would expect shows sign of wear but is not terrible & has no rips. The trim on the doors, dash, interior roof lining, the rear compartment, carpets are all in excellent condition, only the drivers area shows any wear. The engine runs very well & does not lose any fluids. The emission numbers are very good, as per our smog guy who has tested this car for the past 8 years. He likes to say that he runs more miles then we drive this car which is true since the car as done 23,000 miles since we purchased it from the 2nd owner, 8 years ago. We drive this car less than 3,000 per year. Tires are excellent, brand new emergency wheel that has never been used. The cylinders were compression tested at 143,000 miles & had very good compression in all 5 cylinders.I have receipts for the following work done:Water pump, timing & serpentine belt, belt tensioner replaced at 144,478 milesAll wheels balanced at 144,472 milesSmog at 143,553 miles on Jan 2014New battery Nov 2013New OEM spark plugs & both Oxygen sensors replaced, oil changed at 143,000 New tires & balance done at 137,850 on Dec 2011Current mileage is 146,000 and she is running excellent.

1996 Volvo 850 Turbo Wagon. 5 cylinder Automatic transmission. Known affectionately as the Red Sled. Mileage is 217,317 at the time of posting. "Middle aged" for any Volvo. Car is clean for it's age, but not perfect. Interior is presentable with some tears on the bolsters, cleanly mended with electrical tape. Power Windows/locks Sunroof CD/Cassette leather interior SPORT/ECON/WINTER modes. seat warmers Bilstein TC's up front AC works well Volvo safety - front and side curtain airbags. Runs drives and stops. Inspected until 10/14. I drive it weekly. Selling because I just took on another car payment and I don't have the time to work on it. Issues: Turbo needs to rebuilt. In the past few weeks the boost has been non existent. $250 job from many reputable online rebuilders. Rebuild kit is $90 if you have the time and ability to do it yourself. Will need a new catalytic converter to pass inspection, as well as muffler I believe. Car leaks about a drop of oil a week, no other leaks. TRACS OFF and ABS lights on, common issue with the lights, all systems function fine. There open up the module and solder a few points. Full instructions available online. Tires are barely broken in. This vehicle comes equipped with power windows, power door lock, keyless entry, adjustable steering wheel, AM/FM/CD/CASS sound system, air condition, cruise control, leather interior, side impact airbags (SIPS), and more! Timing belt was changed 5,000 miles ago! It is also equipped with a very powerful 5 cylinder engine. The transmission shifts flawlessly and smooth. There are no records of any prior collision damage. Leather interior is clean and in good condition, except for driver seat has a few small tears. Interior is black with wood grain dash. Top of dashboard is good with a few cracks. Air condition was just filled with new freon. New serpentine belt. New idler pulley. Engine has rattle noise at low idle. Volvo dealers says flywheel is cracked, however, car runs great. The odometer stopped working, but we were able to calculate that all 4 tires are brand new Goodyear Eagle RS-A with about 1500 miles. We would like a copy of any cashier check you may be using faxed to us before the delivery date. Sold vehicles will be stored for no longer than 7 days at no charge. A storage charge will incur after 7 days. Please make prior arrangements with selling dealer to avoid storage charges at time of sale. You may pay the purchase price with cash in person, with a cashiers or certified check or bank-to-bank wire transfer. These forms are acceptable for the deposit as well, and we will accept Paypal for the deposit only. If you are the winner, a $500 deposit within 24 hours of the end of the auction is sufficient to hold the car until the remainder can be sent or car is picked up.
