For sale in our Chicago showroom is a piece of American muscle car history, a 1997 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 30th Anniversary Edition. Happy 30th birthday! To celebrate, Camaro was chosen to pace the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in August of 1996. This beauty is painted just like the official pace car, Arctic White with Hugger Orange heritage stripes. This was similar to the Indy 500 pace car of 1969. A special white and black hounds tooth interior was featured, part of Camaro\'s early heritage. A total of 4,534 of these anniversary models were built. Of that number, only 1,497 had the six-speed manual transmission in a coupe/t-top. The body lines create an arrow shape which makes for astonishingly low drag coefficient. Pop the hood to see the original, numbers matching LT-1 engine. This 5.7 liter was rated at 285 hp from the factory and is backed by a T-56 manual transmission. Grab a hold of the Hurst short-throw shifter and bang through all 6 gears as you cruise down the road. Following this is a stock 10-bolt rear end with 3.42 gears. This Camaro is a Carfax certified 1-owner car. A \"true\" 30th Anniversary Edition Camaro is RPO code Z4C, which means not only was it Arctic White with Hugger Orange stripes, but also came with Arctic white 5 spoke wheels and had \"30th Anniversary\" embroidered on both front seat backs and in between the rear seats. You also had a choice of white leather interior or white leather with black %26 white hounds tooth inserts. This particular 30th Anniversary Z28 has the rare white leather with black %26 white hounds tooth cloth inserts. The carpet and surrounding panels are grey in color which allow the bright, white leather on the seats to radiate. These were the 30th Anniversary \"limited build\" cars. This gem has always been garage kept and is coming out of a private collection. All the paperwork and original window sticker is available. Everything is original with the exception of the Flowmaster CAT Back exhaust and a K%26N air filter. Never been wrecked and always dealer serviced this car is ready to drive! This car has never seen a winter and has never been smoked in. As you see in the pictures it is a beautiful example of Chevrolet History (30th Anniversary), this is the last year of the Camaro rectangle headlights and the LT1 engine. I have all paperwork since this vehicle was purchased new. The car is 100% the same way it left the showroom back in 1997, any maintenance was done with OEM equipment. The car has never been in an accident part of the reason why it is in the condition that it is today along with the way it was maintained over the years. When uncovering it to do this listing I noticed the passenger window quit working, it worked when I put it away, go figure. This is minor and I can have the window motor replaced, this is not a big deal. The driver side window motor has been replaced in the past. Everything else on the car works flawlessly. The only mark on the body is a very small ding behind the passenger door just above mid panel about 3"/4" behind door. Tires have 4500 miles on them and in excellent condition. 1997 CHEVROLET CAMARO CONVERTIBLE SS 30TH ANNIVERSARY. Clean, Magnaflow Exhaust, the only wear is on the driver's seat. car did have a rebuilt title, due to the odometer being broken and an accident. Miles on the vehicle show 47291 but not sure what the real miles are . I don't see the vehicle having a lot more due to the shape it is in. Miles due change as we do take it out here and there. I had the vehicle checked out by a dealer and they told me that the only part they said that looked replace was the front bumper. They said car has no signs of ever having any major damage. I do have a clean title which I was issued. It should have been a rebuilt, I do not know why they issued me a clean title. My father bought the vehicle in 2005. We had owned it since. We have never had any problems with the car. The car has being sitting in the garage for a few years now. We just pulled it out and had the water pump replaced and the cap and rotor. I am selling a Beautiful 1997 Camaro SS. I love my car but we are expecting our second child to arrive and it is time to put my favorite passion aside. I know it is hard to find the 'right' car especially when it comes to a Camaro SS and when I originally started my search I took my time to find the right one. I got very lucky to find this car and I'm sure the next owner will feel the same way as well. I had a Professional Detail done which is known as Paint correction. If you google Paint correction you will find that it is the ultimate in detailing (please don't be mislead by it's name, Paint correction does NOT mean paint work, it is just a fancy (and expensive) way of calling car detailing with multiple types of polishes). You will see just how incredible my car looks in person. To the best of my knowledge the car has not had any paintwork or been in any accidents, there are no door dings. Carfax and other vehicle history reports show CLEAN. The clutch feels as it should and the transmissions shifts beautifully. There were only 2 owners prior to my purchase and for a car from 1997 that is very rare to find. It was originally purchased from a Chevy dealership in Hicksville on Long Island, NY. It's been garaged year round. An underbody inspection will prove that with absolutely no rust. It is a real SS that has been modified by SLP performance. I have the original window sticker and also SLP build sheet with VIN's matching. The car has been a show car and summer weekend cruiser. Add in all the options, SLP horsepower upgrades, and, of course, limited availability, and you get a sure-fire collectable that's also a joy to drive. The fourth-generation Camaros hold a special place in many Camaro-lovers' hearts simply because they were such over-achievers. This car is simply way faster than it should have been and its performance is legendary today. This one shows 47,993 original miles, so it's been driven a bit, but it has also been treated like a collector's piece, so the bright Arctic White paint with Hugger Orange stripes remains in excellent condition overall. There are no dents or dings (of course, most of the Camaro was plastic by this point) and aside from some very, very minor signs of use, it remains in outstanding shape. It's got the distinctive SLP ram air hood that force-feeds cold air to the LT1 underneath and there's a neatly integrated wing out back. It's worth noting that this is a solid roof car, no T-tops, so it remains solid and rattle-free and we do particularly enjoy the way the stripes wrap over the roof. There is no chrome or other bright trim, and just about everything was dipped in white paint before being bolted on, so it has a very clean, monochromatic look that works well. The bright white seats with black carpets, dash, and door panels looks flashy but is a step back from the pace car's orange houndstooth and therefore may be a bit more palatable to today's buyers. The leather chairs remain in excellent condition and bely their age with sparkling white surfaces and very few signs of age or wear. The carpets are equally nice, protected by a set of monogrammed SS floor mats. Just about everything was standard, including A/C, power windows, locks, seats, and mirrors, cruise control, and interval wipers, and this anniversary edition sports an automatic transmission, making it a blast to drive under any conditions. The gauges are bright and clear and it still carries its original AM/FM/CD stereo that sounds pretty darned good even with the LT1 singing along. Everything works, of course, and even the trunk is neatly outfitted with a neat storage compartment that keeps your stuff out of sight. Chevy's 350 cubic inch LT1 engine really needs no introduction. It was rumored to have been de-tuned for use in the F-body, but it's no slouch in the performance department and there's a long list of upgrades available from the aftermarket. Fortunately, this car has none of them, remaining 100% stock and with the SLP performance parts that came with it, it remains a potent machine that deserves respect. The big air filter up top and 360 degree air intake are part of the cold air induction setup, but the rest of the SLP upgrades are less subtle, improving performance without too much advertising. The engine bay is clean and well-maintained with everything still OEM. The 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission snaps through the gears with real authority and 3.42 gears out back make it feel very light on its feet. It's also got powerful disc brakes at all four corners, a cackling exhaust system, and those gorgeous A-Mold wheels that were painted to match and fitted with 275/40/17 performance radials. Factory special editions have always been collectable, and this fully documented Camaro is a great opportunity to fill in the space in your collection or get it started on a high note.
