This is an exceptionally nice 1997 Boxster inside and out. An expensive clear transparent protective coating has been added over the paint on the front part of both front fenders, front bumper, both exterior mirrors and other places of the body that are prone to rock chipping. Hello, My name is Doug and up for sale is my 1997 Porsche Boxter. Although it is not any regular 97 Boxter. This car was purchased from the Barrett Jackson Auto Auction for $39,000 and has all the paperwork to prove it. This Porsche has many upgraded as well as custom features included. This boxter has had an engine swap from the original boxter motor to a porsche 911 engine with only 17000 miles on it. It has a 5 speed manual transmission and runs and drives very smooth as well as i have all service records. This porsche has always been garage kept and NEVER left outside. It is a hard top convertible which is great for cruising around on a weekend. It comes with a full custom and great sounding audio system as well as custom porsche wheels. It is also lowered but not too much. Just enough to get the more agressive stance to go along with the powerful 911 drivetrain. Like i said, this car is in immaculate condition and i have all of the barrett jackson paperwork to prove it. The interior is in great condition which would get a 10/10 and the exterior has some very minor scuffs so it is a 9/10. The car has new tires and a new battery. The porsche also has the spoiler that came with the sport package from the factory. It is rear-wheel drive and very fun to move around in. I am selling because I no longer find myself driving it around and do not have time. I would like for someone to get it that would treat the car well and enjoy it as much as I do. Up for sale is my Porsche that I purschased a few months ago, it needs a front transmission seal replaced. The windshield has a crack but doesn't obstruct the driver's view. The front air dam is busted in a couple of places. The convertible top is inoperable per the electric motor, but is able to retract manually with no problems. The paint in places has the clear coat coming off and there are several small dings on the exterior. Also the engine runs rough when cold but clears up when warms up. No check engine light is on, bulb works. All in all the car ran great before the seal failed. I bought the car at a great deal, so I'm selling at a great deal. I just don't have the time to fix. The first owner is a retired engineer who preordered the car back in mid 1996. This was the second Boxster in the Pittsburgh area and the first one is the most desirable arctic silver / black interior/ Manual Transmission combination. I purchased the car 3 months ago but I am getting transferred and unfortunately it will be difficult for me to take the car. The car has never seen the rain or snow. It has always garage kept and the car has the following features: -Carfax history. Clean records, no accidents and all service has been documented. -All manuals, catalogues, brochures, window sticker documentation that came with the car when it came from the dealer. Even the radio code cards are part of the documentation. -A great collection of magazines from 1996-1997 that were used for research by the previous owner before ordering the car. -A folder with all service records for the car. This includes every oil change, filter change, and any parts replaced. All service has been done at the dealer or independent Porsche mechanic locally. -The original “Boxster” PA vanity license plate that was used by the previous owner. I registered the car as a classic because I don’t drive it often and it qualifies as a classic in PA. -All three keys, Original tool kit, cup holders and absolutely everything that the car came with. -Clean title. -80-90% left on all four tires. + Two spare rear tires + brand new spare tire. The car had two new rear tires installed back in 2011 and then when the front needed replacement, the previous owner replaced all four so that is why two 90% rears are available. Tires are Michelin Pilots. -41K original miles!! All documented, never raced and extremely cared for. -Absolutely everything works (lights, radio, very cold AC). Mechanically it is in excellent condition and it passed state inspection 3 months ago. I did maintenance 2 months ago so it has new Mobil 1 oil + air filter, + oil filter+ cabin filter + all fluids were topped off. Awesome car. I've owned this Porsche since last summer and loved it. Never given me any problems.Gorgeous red interior. Matched with the deep blue paint job it has one of the best color combinations available.Synthetic oil changes, new brakes, Brand New Goodyear Eagle All Sport tires (less than 200 miles on them).77k miles - low for a 1997.Garage kept most of it's life. Interior is great. Upgraded stereo system and amplifier for top-down driving fun. CD/MP3 with built in bluetooth and hands-free talking microphones installed.Convertible roof is intact, no cracks in back glass and no leaking. Motor for roof functions perfectly. The Not-Perfect-Parts:Small crack in front bumper where someone pushed against it in a parking lot.AC line needs blowing out - works PERFECT, but leaks a little water.I have a horn and steering wheel/airbag kit, just needs to be installed.A new windshield wiper arm was also just purchase and needs installing. The wiper motor may need replacing soon. Car is located in Orem, Utah.
