I purchased this great car in June of 1998 with low mileage. After almost seventeen years of ownership and 200,000 miles later, I was recently told by my longtime mechanic that a new engine is necessary for the car as the pistons were severely damaged. The car has been idle since mid-February. The pictures I have included were taken in January as I realized one day what great shape the car was in and took some pictures... Although one of my favorite cars of all-time, I have opted not to replace the engine at this time. The car has been well maintained throughout its life. A completely rebuilt transmission that included a one-year warranty was installed on the car in late September, 2012. The exterior and interior are in great shape (Note: Small indentations on trunk and hood. Wood strip above dash cracked, but intact, due to sun/age). Chrome wheels in good condition as you can see... Various maintenance over the past four years includes new water pump and front brakes in 2011, new starter and tires in 2012, new headliner and refurbished radio/cassette deck unit in 2013 and new left front window motor in 2014. The car is being sold "as is" in its entirety. Since it is not operational, the buyer will be responsible for having it towed or put on a trailer to its new destination, wherever that may be... The exterior trim, moldings, handles, window glass, emblems, roof panel, rubber seals and all else are in perfect condition. The 16' rims are clean and the Uniroyal W rated tires have 95%+ tread. Never mistreated or driven hard. Exterior is a solid 9.5 / 10. On the inside, the Beige interior still looks, feels and smells crisp. As you can see, the interior has limited wear. The door panels, dash, center console, buttons and faceplates are unmarked. All of the switches ( power windows, door locks, cruise, antenna, and 6 way power seats work without issue. The Bose stereo system sounds great. The undercarriage is dry / rust free. Inside, it is a 9.75+ / 10. Mechanically, it starts, idles, and drives smoothly as a fine tuned machine should. The V8 engine performs efficiently on all levels. Has had all of the Dealer pertinent and preventative maintenance done with only MB parts. Recent oil, alignment and drive belt done. It shifts and handles like a well oiled machine should. The a/c is cold and the brakes have plenty of pad left. There is nothing that needs to be done for quite some time. Just keep 93 gas, do the synthetic oil and this baby will take exceptional care of you for years to come.
