I was driving this car up to the end of Dec.This is my old work car, I pulled it in the garage to start fixing the little things it needs, Put new front struts, driver side axle in it took for a test drive and the timing belt tenisoner broke, will need the head pulled. Needs the foam on the heater doors replaced, a light in the dash replaced, seat tracks need some grease, they slide easy but sometimes fail to lock. E brake needs some work, i had the cables replaced but it still is not right. Needs 1 tire, they are mismatched, Driver side window regulator needs replaced. Probably some other little stuff i am missing. I have had this car for a little over a year and put over 30,000 miles on it and it has been great. I am 6 foot 3 a little over 300 lbs and i dont fit in it well and decided not to fix it anymore. The body has dents scratchs minor surface rust, roof has some paint peeling, a small soft spot in floor under passenger seat where the water pooled from the A/C. If you are handy with cars you know all this is a very easy fix ( except the head). I called a local machine shop to check the price of valves, they said worse case would be $300-$400. No shipping, deposit required, balance due cash on pickup within 7 days. I may be able to assist with delivery witin a few hundred miles, you will need to ask before you buy, you will have to pay for the tow dolly and gas. Located in Barton MD 21521. I have owned this car since 2006. I wouldn’t sell her except I now have a Jetta TDI Wagon that works a little better for our family. I love these TDI Jettas! She has approximately 270K on her. For a TDI Jetta that’s actually not too bad. I have seen these cars with over 600k. Good News: •Ready to drive, and yes, you really can get over 40 MPG with it! •Clean title with no issues •Just passed Safety and I/M inspection at the end of April •The engine runs great, and was just tuned this month including: oNew timing belt as well as Accessory and Serpentine belts oOil and filter changed. I always used Rotella T Synthetic oil oNew fuel filter oNew air filter •Brakes and shocks and tires are great and need nothing •Has some great aluminum rims. •Sunroof •Tinted windows •Back seat was replaced to be a 1-2 split so you can have 1, or 2 passengers in the back seat and still have part of the seat folded down. Includes the original back seat if you want. •Everything on the car works including the heat and AC except what is listed below. Bad News: •There is considerable issue with rust on the body along with a few dents •The front grill is starting to come undone •The passenger side door currently only opens from the inside •The glove box doesn’t work •The radio doesn’t work •Tachometer doesn’t work most of the time •Dash Gauge Cluster was replaced, so mileage is incorrect. •Check engine and airbag lights are sometimes on, sometimes off Also available at low cost but not included: •A set of stock rims with very good condition Blizzard Blizzak snow tires. •The Yakima rack as shown is included if you want it, but I also have a nice condition Thule rack if you prefer Some people run these on Bio Diesel, others do conversions to grease and run it for “free”. THIS IS YOUR CAR AND YOU COULD BE OWNER NUMBER 3!!!!!!!! This is my daughter’s old car, she is now the owner of a brand new 2016 GOLF GTI so now it is time for Dad to sell her old car. We purchased this car off of a reputable eBay seller located in Tampa, Florida when it was just 2 years old and I had the privilege of driving it home. It was a fun enjoyable drive and is an amazing car. The car drove great on the way home and now 11 years later, still drives like it did that day. Handles great, has plenty of power, is a joy to drive. Clearly in my opinion one of the best cars that Volkswagen has to offer. And then of course being Dad, I had the opportunity to take care of this car for the past 11 years. It has been well taken care of and never abused. It has had regular oil changes using synthetic oil and OEM German filters. The original White paint is in great condition and is washed by dad on a regular basis. There are a couple of paint chips off of the front bumper cover, a small scuff on the passenger rear bumper cover and just very minor paint chips or scratches. It has lived in a garage the entire time that we have owned it. There is a small rust spot right behind the drivers front wheel, a common issue with MKIV Jetta’s and is purely cosmetic at this point. (See pictures for paint condition/issues). The tires are in good shape and are all matching. The original VW alloy wheels are in great shape as well. In the winter they had been removed and cleaned and waxed and then put back on during the summers. The windows have OEM tint on the fronts and a darker tint on the rears. The interior of the car is loaded with all the features that VW had and everything works as well. There is an included iPhone/iPod interface that was added that connects to the VW CD Changer port that is located in the trunk and includes a Apple lightning cord that is in the front console so you can plug in your iPhone/iPod to play music from it. There is also a Subwoofer enclosure in the trunk that contains 2 JBL 12” subwoofers and a separate amp that powers the subwoofers. There is also a subwoofer level control mounted on the side of the console so you can control the sound level of the subwoofer. The black leather interior is in great shape with no rips or tears and is conditioned regularly to keep it nice and soft and moisturized. Also included are Volkswagen rubber mats to keep all the dirt or winter gunk contained, these are a great addition to any car. The heater works great in the winter. The air conditioner blows cold in the summer and it is all controlled by the climate controls. The heated leather seats are pure joy on a cold winter drive. The rear seats fold down to give you access to more cargo room if needed. Here is a list of all the options you will enjoy! Actually it is an amazing car, in the interest of full discloser so you understand everything you are getting. When I look back over the past 11 years of ownership and try to come up with known issues that are affecting this car here are the ones that I can come up with:VW makes the oil pans on their cars out of aluminum and they are prone to dripping oil from the drain plug. A minor inconvenience. My daughter had been having the oil serviced by STRONG VW Dealer in Salt Lake City when it developed drain plug leak the first time. The Dealer replaced the oil pan. This last time I changed the oil the drain plug developed a small drip. This was remedied by placing Teflon tape on the threads of the drain plug and washer and the drip was completely eliminated. I will include extra drain plugs as I replace them each time and will show you to keep this from leaving an oil drip in your garage. Also included will be extra German Oil filters for when you change the oil.The Starter will occasionally make a whirling noise as you release the key when starting when it is warm. This is a known and common problem on VW V6 engines. Does NOT affect starting and is not causing any damage.The little rust spot behind the drivers front tire. Again only cosmetic at this time and you can see them in the included pictures.Occasionally the Water temperature gage does not read the correct temperature, but as a backup there is the original warning light if the coolant level gets either too hot or the level needs to be serviced. That is it! You will be driving one amazing 2002 VW Jetta VR6 GLX that is loaded and drives like the fine VW European car that is! I hope you enjoy it as much as we have! ASKING PRICE $3500.00 OBO Regarding pricing: I have scoured the internet and local listings and have found plenty of VW Jetta’s that were not as nicely equipped as this one. Plus finding one that as the VR-6(V6 engine) and the GLX trim level is even harder to come by. Our asking price is a fair price based on the car and the condition that it is in.
