1998 Volvo C70 Turbo CoupeHello! Up for auction is this sleek looking 1st Gen Volvo C70 Coupe w/ ~ 175700 miles. I've had this car for 7 years, mainly used for work 30 miles roundtrip ea. day & light transportation through the states of CT/MA/NY. In that time I've had the plugs, wires, accessory belt, fluids regularly changed. In late 2013, at approx 158,000 miles, the timing belt was replaced - along with a rebuilt cylinder head. All pulleys, accessory belts, etc. were changed at that time by a certified Volvo mechanic.Car starts up immediately and runs good - never had a problem with the transmission - which shifts seamlessly to this day. Accelerates quick and effortlessly with the 2.3L HPT. Idles well just under 1K RPM. Stock rock solid exhaust is very quiet. Engine is strong - recently rebuilt head as noted. Tires at 85% Fronts, Rears 60%. Two front axles new and installed in 2014. ABC/TRACS Light is on. Engine light is also on - pulled codes for the air pump. The body overall is in good condition - some slight paint chips to front of nose on both sides of the chrome grille. Typical wear on the front bumper, silver tow hook cover painted recently - but is chipping away. Paint chipping away below the right front corner light, plastic fender may of been pulled a tad. The side view mirrors I noticed the clear coat is peeling off, but silver paint's spot on. Overall the paint on the sides and rear look very good. The rear decklid to the trunk there are some light scratches on top of that area. The rear window - some of the gasket or plastic weatherstripping(?) is falling apart - but doesn't leak. Body still looks very good and silver SHINY.Black on Black interior in good condition for its age - never smoked in as long I was the owner. Driver's leather seat has wear from daily use / Passenger looks very good and the back seats look GREAT. Headliner's fairly clean. Below the rubber floor mats are clean floors - most wear is to the drivers. Power seats work well, all buttons on dash are operative - sunroof opens, closes and tilts up. ACC heat/ac work great! I noticed the lights blink on the unit until 30 seconds after start up which does not affect operation. Aftermarket Eclipse CD5000 radio w/ 4-channel amplifier in trunk - powers the stock Dynaudio speaker system. Aftermarket window tints are legal at 35% - all 4 sides and rear. Some bad: Plastic wood grain behind/around the shifter looks rough and is breaking away in some spots. Some panels in the interior may be loose from losing clips over age. DASHBOARD RATTLES! I've temporarily reduced the rattling of the dash with foam and other material, but it's not perfect The dash will certainly need to be pulled apart and the anchors fixed to be a quiet ride. The volume on the premium stereo certainly helps too..As I pointed out - the dashboard rattles, engine light is on w/ air pump codes, ABS/Tracs light on - which could be a ABS module fix. Rear window - outer gasket (?) falling out. Some slight cosmetic damage to interior and exterior - overall the car is a good example of a '98 Volvo C70 with its mileage and age. 1998 Volvo V70 XC AWD We are pleased to present this very nice 1998 Volvo V70 XC AWD. There are several things that make this car quite special, and I'll try to make sure that I list all of them for those that are not quite as familiar with these Volvos. These 98-00 V70s are developing quite a following among our customers, and we are constantly having people asking us to find nice examples of them (because of our reputation as a seller of volvos of this vintage). We scour the country looking for the finest examples of these cars. We often come across them, but rarely in the fantastic condition of this particular one. These cars were in production since the eary 90s (as the 850), and then from 1998-2000 they were lightly redesigned and made more luxurious and sold as the V70. These final versions of Volvo's first front wheel drive car are perhaps one of the most reliable Volvos ever made! In fact, the engine and transmission configuration in this car will have no problem eating all of the miles you throw at it. We have seen several of these with 300, 400, and even 500k miles! Now, on top of all of the things that make this 1998 V70 XC special, this is also very, very well optioned. It's stuffed with options like the Touring Packge, Leather, Moonroof, Stability and Traction Control, and the EXTREMELY RARE REAR HEATED SEATS! It has front heated seats too, but those are pretty common. This is as highly optioned as a V70XC can be in the 1999 model year! Going anywhere in the winter is now something you'll never have to worry about. These V70 XCs feature the very first iteration of Haldex's All Wheel Drive. Hadex is a Swedish based company which does nothing but design and manufacture all wheel drive systems. Their systems have come to be used in makes and models in various car companies, and even in extremely high performance cars such as the new Volvo S60 Polestar. The first generation of this system is regarded as many Volvo enthusiasts as being the best for winter traction. It also has a winter mode for the transmission which starts the car out in second gear to prevent wheel spin. This car has had two owners and was purchased by its second owner as a Certified Pre-Owned Volvo from a Volvo dealership. The original owner bought this car through Volvo Overseas Delivery Tourist/Diplomat sales. They special ordered the car and picked it up at the factory in Sweden. This is likely how it ended up with the exceptionally rare rear heated seats. The car was just traded into a Volvo dealership on a new Volvo by its second owners. The interior of this V70 is in very good condition. In fact, overall, this is one of the nicest interiors we've ever seen in one of these cars. The tan leather seats are in nearly perfect condition for the car's age with no tears. They're still quite soft, and feel great. Everything in the interior works including the air conditioning, which is ice cold. The car has the upgraded high-performance alpine/volvo sound system with 10 speakers and a CD/Cassette player. It's easy to use, and sounds excellent. It also has a power moonroof. The previous owner of this car was definitely a non-smoker. These cars don't even come with cigarette lighters, just power outlets. There is a cup holder that accommodates two beverages. This Volvo has dual front airbags, as well as front side airbags. The side airbags are part of a system called SIPS which stands for "Side Impact Protection System." This is a combination of high-strength door beams, specially designed door openings, and side airbags, which keeps the passengers safe in the event of a side impact. The rear seats fold flat (both the second and third row seats), and the passenger front seat also folds down for carrying very long cargo. The exterior of this V70 is in remarkably good condition for the year and miles, and is Polar White in color. This is one of the harder to find colors for these cars, and the bright white color really pops and is very striking. The exterior of this car is just gorgeous, and the paint is in wonderful condition. It's obvious that this car was garaged for its life. The car has very nice 15" alloy wheels which are in great condition. The lug bolts are nice and shiny and not rusted at all. This V70 also has the roof rails that are exclusive to the XC models. The tires are all in nice shape with excellent tread life remaining. They are all matching Michelins. The brakes are in good shape and the car stops as it should. The legendary 2.4 Liter low-pressure turbocharged 5 cylinder engine runs flawlessly and is very smooth. The transmission also operates properly. It's very smooth, while still shifting crisply. All of the car's accessories work including the power windows and moonroof. These cars rarely have mechanical problems. Selling my very clean 1998 Volvo V70 XC Wagon Cross Country. Volvos are known for their reliability and safety and longevity and I honestly can say this car is a particularly nice one and well maintained by me and all the previous owners! I have a carfax from when I purchased the car 2 years ago and it shows no accidents and no negatives on the car whatsoever. I actually purchased this car from a Carmax mechanic who purchased it from them and owned it for 7 years and as many of you know Carmax only keeps the best of the best while they send the others off to the auction! It is a nice Bronze color with Tan leather interior, fully loaded with Cold A/C and good heather for winter, power windows and doors, sunroof, heated seats, headlight wipers, Am/Fm Cassette. It only has 128,849 miles and is All Wheel Drive so it is great in snow. It has the trustworthy 2.4L Turbo 5 cylinder engine which is top notch and always starts right up even in the coldest of days, but I must admit it is not particularly fast but is very safe and reliable and it would be a perfect first car for a high schoolers or college kid. This Volvo is in very good shape for its age, no rust and the paint looks good, there are a few minor door dings on the car from parking lots, and the worst ding is in the back where you can see it in the photos but it not that bad. The front and rear bumpers have little marks in various places but again not terrible, Front headlights and turn signals look new as it had a protective plastic covering which was on since new but reasonably removed because they were yellowing. The tires are only a few years old but and are in excellent condition. I have owned it for 2 years and honestly was planning on keeping it forever but I have use it so infrequently that I see no point on paying for the insurance since I have only driven it 8000 miles since purchased. The seats are in good shape with no rips or tears. All around, this car is really allot for the money being and would great in your driveway! 2000 Volvo V70 XC AWD We are pleased to present this very nice 2000 Volvo V70 XC AWD. There are several things that make this car quite special, but none more than the fact that it has only 60 THOUSAND MILES! These 98-00 V70s are developing quite a following among our customers, and we are constantly having people asking us to find nice examples of them (because of our reputation as a seller of volvos of this vintage). We scour the country looking for the finest examples of these cars. We often come across them, but rarely in the fantastic condition of this particular one. These cars were in production since the eary 90s (as the 850), and then from 1998-2000 they were lightly redesigned and made more luxurious and sold as the V70. These final versions of Volvo's first front wheel drive car are perhaps one of the most reliable Volvos ever made! In fact, the engine and transmission configuration in this car will have no problem eating all of the miles you throw at it. We have seen several of these with 300, 400, and even 500k miles! Now, on top of all of the things that make this 2000 V70 XC special, this is also very, very well optioned. It's stuffed with options like the Touring Packge, Leather, Moonroof, This is nearly as highly optioned as a V70XC can be in the 2000 model year! It also has homelink, and grocery bag holders in the cargo area. Going anywhere in the winter is now something you'll never have to worry about. These V70 XCs feature the very first iteration of Haldex's All Wheel Drive. Hadex is a Swedish based company which does nothing but design and manufacture all wheel drive systems. Their systems have come to be used in makes and models in various car companies, and even in extremely high performance cars such as the new Volvo S60 Polestar. The first generation of this system is regarded as many Volvo enthusiasts as being the best for winter traction. It also has a winter mode for the transmission which starts the car out in second gear to prevent wheel spin. This car is a TWO OWNER vehicle. The second owners of tihs car owned it since they purchased it certified pre-owned and they kept it serviced by the Volvo dealership regularly. Right down to it having a Volvo battery. This is a very very well cared for car, and we have its complete service history. The interior of this V70 is in very good condition. In fact, overall, this is one of the nicest interiors we've ever seen in one of these cars. The tan leather seats are in nearly perfect condition for the car's age with no tears. They're still quite soft, and feel great. You'll notice in the photos that the arm rest is worn. We've already replaced this and it looks great now. Everything in the interior works. The car has the upgraded high-performance alpine/volvo sound system with 10 speakers and a CD/Cassette player. It's easy to use, and sounds excellent. It also has a power moonroof. The previous owner of this car was definitely a non-smoker. These cars don't even come with cigarette lighters, just power outlets. There is a cup holder that accommodates two beverages (and they're not broken!). This Volvo has dual front airbags, as well as front side airbags. The side airbags are part of a system called SIPS which stands for "Side Impact Protection System." This is a combination of high-strength door beams, specially designed door openings, and side airbags, which keeps the passengers safe in the event of a side impact. Since this is a 2000, it's also the only year of this style V70 which has WHIPS whiplash protection system which prevents the front seat passengers from experiencing whiplash in the event of a rear-end collission. The rear seats fold flat, and the passenger front seat also folds down for carrying very long cargo. The exterior of this V70 is in remarkably good condition, and is Dark Olive Pearl in color. This is one of the more beautiful colors for these cars, and the contrast between the dark green exterior and the tan interior is very striking. The exterior of this car is just gorgeous, and the paint is in wonderful condition. It's obvious that this car was garaged for its life. The car has very nice exclusive 15" "Terra" alloy wheels which are in great condition and only came on the 2000 models. Please note the ding that is above the right rear window. We have a paintless dent removal service scheduled to come remove this ding, and it will be handled before the car is sold. The tires are all in nice shape and are matching Continentals with good tread life remaining. The brakes are in good shape and the car stops as it should. The legendary 2.4 Liter low-pressure turbocharged 5 cylinder engine runs flawlessly and is very smooth. The transmission also operates properly. It's very smooth, while still shifting crisply. All of the car's accessories work including the power windows and moonroof. These cars rarely have mechanical problems. The 98-00 models have always been good sellers for us as they are a good value and are capable of very high mileage. These vehicles are spacious, comfortable, safe, reliable, efficient, and durable. This example is a clean, 1 owner, low mileage, local Southern car. It is unique in that it is a base model with cloth seats, a simple interior, wheel covers, no moon roof etc. It doesn't have the features most V70's have, but it also has less to go wrong. The only options are a power seat and the folding cargo/pet barrier in the back. While it seems to have been maintained over the years, we still performed a thorough service in preparation for sale. This included an oil change, new tires, a brake fluid flush and many new parts: cabin filter, air filter, fuel filter, spark plugs, cap & rotor, wiper blades, upper engine mount, left front axle boots and lower ball joint. It is inspected, has been cleaned and is ready for a second owner. Due to the age, we cannot arrange financing.
