Why I'm selling: Time to move up to a new daily driver that's got some more bells & whistles and is better on gas. Plus, I have another turbo car in the garage that I can play with when I'm in the mood. Not selling because anything is wrong with the car. I still drive it every day and it puts a smile on my face.While I don't have a terribly strong need to sell the car, I do want to sell it so I can get something else I've had my eye on. During normal business hours, the car is with me in Grapevine and I'm happy to show it to anyone interested.History: I bought this car around January 2009. It was bone stock, dealer-maintained and had around 90,000 miles on it. It has been my daily driver as I've always had another car in the garage to play with. This is a Sport Design model and has every single factory option available in 2003. Mark Levinson audio, navigation, black interior (rare), sportier steering computer, wood steering wheel, smoked-housing HID lights, black chrome badges, etc.About three years ago I got the itch to put a turbo on the factory 2JZ motor.Mods: A lot. I'll touch on the high points. The engine features a forged 2JZ-GTE bottom end and a stock VVT-i head. This combination makes for some really fun power. The most I run is 18psi but I daily it at around 15.5psi. My boost controller has high/low settings and I have it on low most of the time.The ECU is an AEM FIC piggyback. This allows the car to start, run, drive and PASS INSPECTION like a stock car. No check engine lights. Plug in OBD-II scanner and it doesn't see anything out of the ordinary. The transmission is built. The 1-2 shift is a little soft but the rest of the shifts are very firm without being jarring. It's a great build that can hold 800+ horsepower. As an added bonus, the car has the Sport Shift feature with buttons on the steering wheel for manual shifting. I use it quite regularly and it's a great feeling setup. The whole build was done by the infamous Jeff Tsai of Powerdynamix. If you're looking at this car, you probably are familiar with his well-known turbo Lexus builds. The car was over-engineered and tuned conservatively so that it would be a reliable daily driver.And that it is. I drive it about 50 miles a day and never have any issues. Ever. Change the oil regularly with Rotella T6 and it's been fine for years. Never left me stranded. Never complains when I drive it hard.Gets 17mpg combined if you drive it kindly. If you drive it hard it will return closer to 15mpg combined.The interior is in fan-freaking-tastic condition. No rips or tears in the seats or arm rest. A few signs of age here and there, but you really have to look for them. The original Sport Design floor mats are even in great condition. As a bonus, the factory ML sub woofer went out on me (common) so I replaced it with a 10" Kicker sub and a small, dedicated amp in the trunk to power it. Sounds nice.The exterior is a slightly different story. The paint has seen better days. Also, the tires have, at some point, made contact with the front fenders (they don't rub anymore but they did when I first put them on) and the driver's side fender has some paint chipping off due to that. I have been tempted to bring the car for a "professional" plasti-dip treatment just to refresh the exterior without going through the time and expense of a full re-paint. But I've just never gotten around with it. I feel that the asking price reflects the condition. If the paint was in better shape, I'd be asking quite a bit more for the car.The suspension - I've thrown just about the entire FIGS Engineering catalog at this car. It's on BC BR-Series coil overs with the upgraded Swift springs. It has custom control arms in the rear, and a bunch of other custom pieces that make for a very, very good handling car. All of the bushings - all of them - are upgraded and refreshed a couple years ago. The car holds an alignment very well and is very kind to tires. No extreme toe or camber wear issues. The car itself has about 160k miles on it. However, this is really only reflected in the paint. The whole suspension and driveline is way newer than that. Engine has around 27k on it. Suspension has probably 20k.Some other "bads" about the car:• The A/C mode servo has worn gears. DIY write-up on how to fix it can be found on ClubLexus. What does this effect? Well, basically you can't easily switch the blower from "face" to "feet" without it making a bunch of groaning noises at you. It's currently situated somewhere between face and feet and it'll keep you warm in the winter and cool in the summer. But I would suggest replacing the servo as it's not difficult to do and it's one of those conveniences you don't really appreciate until it only works half of the time.• The headlight lenses can use a polish as they're a bit hazy. I did it about a year ago but, as you know, once they get to this point you have to keep polishing them regularly. I do have a spare set of projector-retrofit headlights with clear lenses that will come with the car! They work with the factory HID ballasts so they're completely plug-and-play. However, I'll also include some "slim" ballasts so that it's easier to mount them in with all the turbo plumbing.• The rear tires will need to be replaced soon. They lasted a long time (15k+ miles) considering how low the car is and how much power it makes. The front tires are only a few months old. They experienced a little bit faster wear due to a slightly less adjustable front suspension geometry.• The Oil Control Valve for the VVT-i system has a slight leak. Again - there are about eleventy billion write-ups and YouTube videos on how to service this. There's a 50¢ gasket and a $5 filter that you can replace and that'll take care of it.• The Kicker sub woofer vibrates something in the rear bulkhead when it hits hard. I'm used to it but I suppose picky buyers may want to get back there with a few strips of foam tape and shut it up.

I have a Pearl white Lexus gs that needs painted. I would say 80%+ of the body work is done. I was planning to have this finished before I had surgery on my hands on but ran out of time. Everything I took off the car I bagged and labeled. I would be willing to help reassemble the car after it is painted (within a reasonable distance). There are a few clips that will need to be purchased for door trim and the rubber trim that screws to the bottom of the doors could stand to be replaced. I bought the car barely running, turns out the head was warped. I have replaced the head with a rebuilt one, put new timing belt, timing gears, water pump, plugs and wires on the engine. Transmission has new fluid and filter also. Car fires right up but still has some old gas in it so the throttle is not very responsive. The engine has good compression. I also replaced the upper control arms since the ball joints were shot. The guy I bought it from was not honest about the title and I tore into it before I received the prior salvage title. Completely my stupidity for diving in head first. Car can still be liscenced, just can't carry full coverage. At least my insurance company won't allow full coverage on it. I planned to finish the paint and put a turbo 2jz engine in it and have a fast sleeper on the cheap. Summer is coming and my thoughts turn to boating so the Lexus needs to go. Whole or parts. Doesn't matter to me. Just want to recoup some of what I have in it. I do have a trailer and can deliver if needed. Make me an offer without low balling me and we will talk. I would be willing to sell just the motor and transmissions or just the rolling chassis. I prefer to sell whole but am willing to sell the big parts alone. I bought this car as a project for last winter, between surgery on my elbows and the weather getting nice I haven't finished it. That coupled with the fact I bought a Gs400 In Arizona this spring on vacation my motivation to finish this car is gone. The car has a prior salvage title which was not disclosed to me at the time of sale. Not disclosing this info is illegal in the state of Iowa. The car can be licensed and driven but my insurance will not provide full coverage on it. Others may be different. I had already tore the car down to prep the body so I decided it wasn't worth the fight and preceded on fixing the car. The dent in the driver's quarter was pulled and hammer and dollied out then skim coated. Whole car has been block sanded and imperfections addressed. It needs primer/sealer and reblocked to get it perfect. Original color is pearl white which I was planning to have resprayed on it. As far as the mechanicals go the the car "only needed a water pump" I was duped again. Turns out the head was warped so I put a new head, water pump, and timing belt on it. I drained the transmission and put new filter and fluid in it. The upper control arms have been replaced also. It runs and drives but the throttle is slow to respond. Maybe old fuel or an adjustment of the TPS. The tires will need to be replaced soon also. I have all the parts for the car to put it back together minus a few clips for some trim and the rubber seals on the lower door molding new replaced. I bagged and labeled the hardware when I removed it. I would be willing to help reassemble the car after it is painted. I have a trailer and would be willing to deliver if needed.
