2003 Mercedes Benz E 500 2003 Mercedes Benz E 500 – Super Clean Benz The time has come for us to part ways with our E 500. The car has been lovingly cared for and gingerly used. This is my wife’s car and it has been well maintained and was used on nice days. It hasn’t seen much rain or bad weather since new. We’d take a road trip in it now and then but for the most part, it has been sparingly enjoyed. We have multiple vehicles and she has decided that she’d like to have an Audi A8 so the Mercedes needs to go to a new home. . This car has been in Southern California and Arizona since new. Garaged of course. There are plenty of E 500’s on the market and some are more expensive, some are cheaper. But if you are in the market for a nice family car that has all of the bells and whistles and has been well cared for, Please consider this one. The car runs and drives excellent. There are no mechanical or electrical issues. It’s a real joy to drive. We recently had both O2 sensors and the MAF sensor replaced as well. The car has been serviced with full synthetic Mobil 1 since we’ve had it. It’s a powerful car. No smoke, no noises and no hesitations. The transmission shifts well, all lights, power windows, power door locks, sunroof, stereo system, power options, all work great. Most notably, the front bumper has slight sun burn right above the license plate holder. Overall though the car looks great and both my wife and I get compliments on the car when we take it out. It glows in the sun. The car has no accidents in it’s history and we are not aware of any issues. The 19” Petrol wheels are relatively new as are the tires. I would say they have at least 90% tread left. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- INTERIOR: The interior on the car is very clean and original. Our children rarely ride in the car and prior to us owning it, it doesn’t appear anyone else that owned the car had kids. The back seat area is like new. Non smoker owned since new. The ash trays are as clean as the day it left Stuttgart. No smells or animal hair, no real stains or flaws. The drivers seat shows a little wear on the side bolster, but that’s pretty much the extent of it. This is the type of vehicle that you can get in, hit the key and drive comfortably to just about anywhere a car can take you. The jambs and trunk are very clean and are always wiped out and vacuumed when the car is cleaned or detailed. We have done our very best to maintain this car the way a Mercedes Benz should be. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Engine/Transmission 5.0L 302 horsepower V8… and you can feel all of the ponies kicking when you accelerate. The car has been regularly serviced. Newer belt, new O2 sensors, new Mass Airflow Sensor. The car fires right up and is proven to be a very reliable family or fun car. The transmission is fully functional and without any noises. You can put it in drive for use as an automatic or you can put it into manual mode and drive it that way if you choose. It works great either way. No leaks, no drips, no noises, no smoke. . This car runs and drives fantastic. Just a real fun car that the new owner can enjoy and drive with pride.. Should provide years of enjoyment with continued proper care and service! Brakes, Steering, Suspension and Structure The braking system on this beautiful car works perfectly. All components are in excellent condition. The car features four wheel disc brakes with cross drilled and slotted performance rotors. Steering components look good and the steering is tight and accurate. I have not replaced the front struts and I do not know if they have been replaced. I’m told the rears were replaced by the previous owner around 15k miles ago. There are no rust or accident history issues with this car. The car has only lived in Southern California and Arizona since new. Adult owned and driven. It’s a great looking Mercedes that always gets looks and compliments. For sale is my 2003 Mercedes E320, price is neg. I have owned it since July 2003. The car was put into service in September 2002. I am the second owner and have maintained the car mostly at dealerships and have never deferred maintenance on the vehicle. I have the complete service history from my ownership available. During the past two years I have spend $3,000 in maintenance, the only thing the car needs right now is 4 new tires. I put in new headlights with LEDs, because the originals got cloudy, the originals will come with the car though. I did not put them on myself, because I would rather list the car at a lower price and allow the new owner to pick the tires they would like. The car is in good condition, keep in mind it is 107,xxx mile car. There are stone chips on the front a few scratches and dings, I have taken pictures of all the major body issues. The front bumper cover on the drivers side also has a small crack in it on the bottom (pictured also). The car has never been in an accident during my ownership, and has a clean car fax for the previous ownership (99.9% sure it was never in an accident during the 1st owners history, but I do not ever like to speak in certainties for things that I can not guarantee). Options: Finished in bronze metallic with a light camel accent and light camel colored leather upholstery, this VERY CLEAN 2003 Mercedes E500 features about everything that you expect in a German luxury sedan beginning with the smooth and responsive 5.0 Liter V8 all aluminum engine teamed with the 5-speed 722.6 automatic, driver, passenger, side and roof SRS (air bags), fully automatic climate control featuring a factory R134a refrigerant charge, 4-wheel ABS (anti-lock brakes), factory sunroof, power windows, central locking system, power mirrors, power seats, factory alloy wheels, factory sound system,  4-wheel disc brakes, AirMatic® Air Suspensiion system, cruise control, rear window defroster, driver’s information center, service reminder system, factory security system, and much more!   Yet ANOTHER Clean Southern Ride! This vehicle is riding on a BRAND NEW set of Uniroyal® Tiger Paw GTZ™ tires!   Service and Inspection Report – Value Added: We brought this clean Mercedes in for service and found that the prior owner had done the routine maintenance and kept the vehicle in good order.  However, we also found a list of parts that needed replaced that are common to Mercedes vehicles of this vintage.  When buying a Mercedes, like Ferrari or any other premium vehicle, the service history is important.  Now sit back and read what we have done to make your next vehicle convenient for you!    The vehicle’s oil was very clean and it has just been changed.  It appears that a professional shop did the service as the drain plug has the correct copper sealing washer and a mark on the drain plug indicating that it has been properly tightened.  We double-checked and it is all just fine.  The vehicle’s oil system keeps track of the oil level instead of a traditional dipstick.  A simple command on the steering wheel will give you an oil check before startup as desired.   These vehicles have an air induction system on each side of the engine and run dual air filters.  While we were under the hood, we removed the air filter box on top of the engine and changed both filters.    While checking for underhood items, we noted that there was enough vibration in the vehicle to justify replacing the hydraulic engine mounts.  This job requires the complete removal of the front exhaust system and while we were under the vehicle, we replaced the transmission mount, too.  The engine is now very smooth and isolated from the vehicle’s chassis just as Mercedes designed.   While we had things apart, we decided to install new Denso® brand spark plugs.  Mercedes designed the M113 engine to use two spark plugs per cylinder.  At this age and mileage, it’s time to install a fresh set.    Looking over the brakes, they were close to needing changed so we replaced brake rotors, pads and wear sensors front and rear.  The brakes are new all the way around and perform excellent!   Continuing on the chassis, we ordered and installed a BRAND NEW SET of Uniroyal® Tiger Paw GTZ™ performance tires illustrated in the listing.  We refuse to use no-name tires made in some third world country that will fall apart on you.  We use a quality name brand tire that is representative of our commitment to quality.  Most dealers would have looked the other way and said that the tires “look good” as they rub their chin and lie like a rug.   This model of Mercedes, their premium high-powered E-Class, has the AirMatic® air suspension system.  Looking over the vehicle, the front air struts have been replaced with Arnott Industries® air suspension units which are in my experience, better than OEM.  The rear air springs appeared original so we went ahead and replaced both rear air springs so that you would not have to wonder about them.  As we serviced the air suspension, we changed the air intake filter on the compressor which is a routine service item that hardly anyone knows to change.    While checking for burned out bulbs, we found that the low beam failure was due to a wiring fault inside the headlight assembly so we just replaced both headlight assemblies.  They are new and look great on the vehicle!   And finally, we installed new wiper blades.  Wow, that’s a lot of work but we are committed to making things right.   Shop around and then ADD IT UP!  Why buy one that needs work?  How much will that cost you in addition to the car itself?  The items that we serviced would easily cost you $5,500 if you did all of this after the sale.  Buy from Grove.  That’s the Grove Automotive Group, Inc. difference.
