This car is in excellent condition inside and out, just look at the pictures. According to the original owner the car was always stored in the garage at there vacation home in SC, This car is completely rust free. It does not have any dings or dents either, it was also a non smoker owned car. We have been driving the car daily now, and it runs and drives amazing! this is such a cool car I wanted to keep it but she insists I have way to many toys, so it was either sell this or my 65 Fastback so here it is up for sale. Our Subaru Baja is a 2003 with 176K miles. It runs great and it is 100% reliable. It has been well maintained and gets good gas mileage. It has good Michelin tires. Brakes are good. There are some significant scratches on the exterior but no wrecks. There is a small dent about the size of a silver dollar on the top each fender near the hood. It has a bed like a truck and there is also a pass through door to the bed so you can put down the rear seat so long lumber etc. can be hauled if needed. I have a bed extender for it too. It has a sunroof. It has power windows and locks and a remote for locks and alarm. The windows are tinted. It is automatic and all wheel drive. The engine is strong and the transition performs as it should. The AC is cold. It was serviced last year--always has worked well, it was just periodic maintanence that many people overlook. About a year ago I did the following maintenance--replaced spark plugs and wires, all filters including fuel filter and transmission filter, flushed transmission and front differential, flushed coolant and replaced radiator and thermostat, replaced CV joints and axle shafts, replaced all ball joints and tie rod ends, replaced O2 sensor (upstream), and replaced serpentine belt. I was a mechanic in the military and take preventative maintenance seriously. The previous owner had had the timing belt and water pump replaced. They also had Subaru rebuild the top end as a result of the head gasket issue recall. It could probably use an alignment because it slightly pulls to the right on the highway. It has a small oil leak, but does not leave any spots in our garage. It drips onto the exhaust shield so I think it just burns away instead of dripping. I usually add about half a quart between oil changes. It has been my wife's daily driver for the last couple years but she now has a new suv. We drove the Baja from San Antonio to Kansas two weeks ago and I would not hesitate to go across the country in it. In fact, I am willing to deliver the Baja anywhere within a 600 mile radius from San Antonio,TX for an additional fee of 90 cents per mile. I will, however, need to be dropped off at the nearest bus station. I can only make this delivery on a weekend. Just wanted to offer this option--I've done this before with motorcycles. Runs great! No rust on exterior. We are listing this below book price because of an oil smell or leak that needs fixed, but other than that this car/truck runs great! If you are good with working on cars, then this is the car for you. A great car/truck and a great investment! We recently got back from Williamsburg, Virginia and it ran great with no problems but it might need head gaskets so it will need to be fixed!My husband was going to fix the oil leak but decided to sell as is since we would have to sell at the going price of Baja's which is over $8000 as you can see by the other listings since they no longer make Subaru Baja's . This way, if you can do the work yourself, you will save some money since the gaskets don't cost that much, it is the labor that is so expensive because it takes time to do all the work needed . There is a hole on the interior back side by the seat that we bought a patch kit for and is included since we decided to sell as is. It is solid underneath. We had a Remote starter installed that is great on those cold winter days when you just want to have your car warmed up! This has to be one of the finest Baja's in the country. 25175 original miles. No accidents. I'm owner number two.The first owner was an older woman who drove the car a few thousand miles each year. Clearly garaged, this car has a showroom shine. No swirl marks, just a deep high gloss shine finish just as when new. A very few TINY "chip" marks on entire car. No dents or scratches. Car is absolutely gorgeous, inside and out. Car is equipped with a Python remote start system. Factory trailer hitch. Original tires have plenty of even wear tread left on them. No squeaks or rattles. The bed looks new as well. I had the radiator flushed and used Subaru anti-freeze and Subaru conditioner. Headlights are original with no fading or clouding what so ever. A/C blows cold. Non smoker. Only Baja I've seen with both front cup holder brackets still in place. This car is in as close to new condition as is probably out there. Mileage may increase slightly as it is still being driven occasionally.
