Wonderful vehicle that drives well. I use it daily but there are some problems that I do not want to address. This vehicle leaks oil from several spots ( I add a quart every 4 to 5 days) and the back passenger side wheel makes a low whirl sound that someone suggested is a wheel bearing issue. I have maintained this car very well for the last 7 years since buying it in near perfect condition used in 2008. It had very few miles then and it came with all service records detailing regular oil changes and tune-ups. I continued this habit of regular tune ups and oil changes every 3000 miles. I use it to get to and from work and to run errands around town. AC works well!, Heat works well!, radio works. power windows work, power locks work, window defroster works. Well-loved Subaru Forester S with a clean Michigan title. The interior is in excellent condition, including heated seats, heated windshield bays, rear window defroster, all floor mats. Upholstery is in excellent condition. Engine was just rebuilt in 2013, transmission is good, parking brake replaced in 2014. MP3/Aux/CD/Radio new installed in 2013.There is a small dent at hinge of front passenger door that makes for a noisier ride, but the door closes fine. Needs a new key fob (otherwise alarm is easy to set - and set off!). AC doesn't work - there's a leak in the system. Needs new tires. The main issue is that the undercarriage is very rusty (it started it's life in Chicago where they use WAY too much salt on the roads). There is a rear wheel bearing going out (very noisy) and needs to be replaced. I brought it to three shops and nobody would do the job because they were afraid that the rust wouldn't hold and they'd be bolting to nothing... I had to get back to work in NorCal and didn't have the time to deal with it. If you have the time or know-how, be my guest! Otherwise, this has TONS of good parts! It's still drivable, but I don't know how far I'd go on that wheel bearing, and I definitely wouldn't drive it over 55mph, just to be on the safe side with that. Just under 140k miles. Just did an oil change with the Mobil1 "10,000 miles between changes" oil - probably about 2000 miles ago, now. Can provide maintenance history upon request. Trying to get this sold as soon as possible. Any reasonable offer will be considered.

Car is not in driving condition. I was hit by a driver on the 4th of July, 2015 on my front, driverside quarterpanel, rendering the car not fit for the road. The engine still starts up and runs without any issues, but, besides cosmetic damage, the left tire does not steer. I have been told it is because of the tie bar, but I am not sure. I have not had a mechanic look at it. This car would need to be trailered away. The airbags did not go off when I was hit. It received new tires in Fall 2013, had a new timing belt at 140k miles, and recently had the transmission fluid drained and refilled. The engine is in superb condition. The body of the car, however, is not.

You are looking at one of the best JDM replicas in the United States. World Rally Blue was and still is the color of choice for all Subaru fans. This Forester was transformed into what is essentially an '08 STI. This Forester XT started life out as an automatic transmission car. It's a large family car, easily capable of carrying 5 passengers and their luggage but it was missing something? That something was the Legendary Subaru STI performance.East Coast Swapper is the name of the company that did this conversion and there swaps offer factory reliability. A '08 Subaru STI doner car was purchased (6,000 miles on it.) for the build. ECS dropped the entire driveline out of the doner STI and onto a rolling dolly. They split the transmission from the engine to upgrade the clutch, and then they went through the engine adding ARP head-studs and replacing all the head gaskets and seals outward. Lastly they added a Perrin fuel rail kit, re-assemble the driveline, added custom coilovers and up and into the Forester it went. The Dual Active Valve Control System and SI drive was turned off. ECS wanted to use it, however, the issue with that is the '08 STI motor uses the CAN BUS engine management system and the Forester does not (OBDII). So what ECS did was to turn the engine into an '07 STI "electrically". Then the harness was modified to work with a Manual Transmission Forester ECU.
