[email protected] 5527 Lakeview Road, Charlotte, NC, 28269, US 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle 300 Frame Off Restored Chevelle 502/502 HP V8 4 Speed 3.55 Year: 1968 Type of vehicle title: Clear Primary color: Teal Mileage: 68685 Transmission type: 4 Speed Manual Engine: 502 V8 Interior color: Black Vehicle info In a world full of awesome numbers matching Chevelles and very well done SS tributes, it's always nice to see something different. And it takes some serious skill to pull off a car that is TRULY different without being either too extreme to honor its original attributes or a blatant pro-tourer. After a $75K restoration, this 1968 Chevelle 300 received 147 out of 150 points at the 22nd Annual Mid-Atlantic Chevelle Show/ACES Northeast Regional and took home the 2010 Director's Choice Award. But here's the best part, it isn't just another 'me too' show car which is full of obsolete technology and garage queen gimmicks. It's a GM Performance Parts powered big block sleeper that's been equipped with an outstanding body, an NOS interior, and just recently received additional show detailing to rack up those final three points. Built at GM's Fremont, California manufacturing facility in February of 1968, this unassuming Chevelle 300 wears all original California sheetmetal under a cool coat of Island Teal and correct Gloss Black paint. During an extensive 2010 nut and bolt restoration the car was completely disassembled, placed on a rotisserie and expertly detailed to provide a show winning appearance that displays better-than-factory alignment. Once that body was fully prepped, layers of Island Teal and Gloss Black paint were sealed under a thick clearcoat shell and striking black side stripes. And presently, this Chevelle is much, much nicer than any mass produced original, carrying a super clean finish on a high quality restoration that simply stuns. At the front of this Chevy, clear T3 headlights flank an anodized, body-width grille that centers a prominent red and blue Chevrolet crest between bars that look as straight as the day they left the showroom. At the bottom of that grille, a new chrome bumper is equipped with clear parking lights, and at the top of that grille, a showroom fresh "Chevelle" script occupies the driver's side of the car's header panel. Behind that header panel, fresh stainless trim traces both a gloss black top and original date-correct windows while new stainless wipers and Island Teal drip rails mix form with function. Below that glass, new "Chevelle" scripts and "427" branded marker lights complement new chrome handles and a familiar bowtie mirror. And at the back of the car, clean, Chevelle 300-exclusive tail lights frame a second red and blue Chevrolet crest above a new Chevelle 300-exclusive bumper. Glance under this Chevelle's mirror-slick hood and you'll find what appears to be an accurately restored and highly detailed L72 427 V8. Linger a little longer, and niceties like GM Performance Parts aluminum heads, a modern HEI distributor and red GM Performance Parts plug wires begin to unravel the car's biggest secret: you're actually looking at a 502 cubic inch GM Performance Parts crate motor which creates 9.6 to 1 compression, makes 502 horsepower and churns out 567 lb./ft. of torque! At the top of the motor, a chrome air filter, which is topped by a pristine "427 Turbo-Jet" decal, funnels air into an 850 cfm Holley that's hooked to a high performance electronic fuel pump. That air/fuel mixture travels into a CNC port-matched dual-plane intake which rides between GMPP aluminum heads that are stacked with 110cc combustion chambers, stainless steel valves and stamped steel rocker arms. Once inside the block, the mixture is compressed by forged aluminum pistons that are connected to shot-peened rods and a forged steel crank. The resulting gases are sent through fully restored exhaust manifolds with the help of a hydraulic roller cam and GMPP dyno-tuned induction and ignition. At the front of the engine, a fresh V-belt spins a correct fan and modern alternator between a correct radiator and aluminum, short-style water pump. Reproduction GM hoses combine with correct tower clamps to provide a completely authentic look. The big GMPP block is covered in a traditional coat of Chevy Orange paint which contrasts well to the car's flat black engine bay. And everything under the hood has been completely show detailed from correct overspray, correct chalk marks and correct decals to correct gray hood hardware and a set of trick Yenko valve covers. What good would a killer big block be without a great chassis and suspension to back it up? Behind the thundering 502, a tough M21 Muncie 4-speed transmission sends power to a tried and true GM 12 bolt posi-traction rear end with stout 3.55 gears. That strip-ready drivetrain is held in by a correctly rebuilt suspension which features correct spiral shocks, correct power brakes and correct manual steering for that raw, vintage street racer feel. In the middle of the car, a mandrel bent, reproduction exhaust system runs from the gray GM manifolds to factory replacement mufflers which are equipped with turn downs, and fresh fuel lines run between the big Holley carburetor and a new stainless fuel tank. The bottom of this Chevelle has been over-restored to the same high standards as its exterior panels and engine compartment. Accordingly, the frame was sanded and completely repainted, the floors were layered in the same glossy Island Teal as the exterior, and a slew of correct chalk marks and correct stickers adorn the components from front to back. To complete the look, date-code correct, 14-inch steel wheels were fully detailed in Island Teal basecoat and wear a pristine set of dog dish hubcaps inside authentic looking G-70 Firestone redlines. During restoration, this Chevelle 300 was equipped with a great looking NOS black interior that, despite being sparse by even 60s standards, is comfortable and well designed. The vinyl bench seats are in excellent shape and show little to no signs of wear, and the upper dash exhibits no fading or warping of any kind. In the middle of that dash, you'll find an NOS Delco radio. Below that radio, modern Autogage accessory gauges keep an eye on the 502's vitals. And below those gauges, a durable rubber mat frames a black and chrome Muncie shifter. The striped Chevelle 300 door panels are free of nicks and feature bright chrome handles for both their latches and windows. At the top of the car, a tight, fade-free headliner frames a functioning dome light. In front of the driver, a retro-fitted GM rally wheel spins a bright wood rim and spotless satin spokes around a big Auto Meter Street Tach. And the car's fully restored trunk seals a fifth Island Teal wheel and Firestone redline tire between a correct mat and correct decklid decals. This Chevelle's sale includes substantial documentation that consists of a binder of restoration photos, paperwork for its GM Performance Parts 502, a stack of era-correct books and manuals, a showboard, a copy of the Chevelle World magazine in which it was featured, and judging sheets from the 2010 Mid-Atlantic Chevelle Show where it won Director's Choice. Featuring a stunning motor, an incredible paint job and a pristine interior, this sedan was assembled by an experienced car builder who stuck to his vision and took detailing to a whole new level. The result is a no excuses show piece that looks and performs better than when it left the factory. If you're in the market for a unique muscle car with an unbeatable combination of style and performance, this '68 300 is your ticket! Sure, that's a really cool car, but what about enthusiasts who want a little less nostalgia and a lot more attitude? Well friends, fear not, because RK Motors Charlotte has something for you too! The beneficiary of a professional, frame-off restoration, this national award-winning Chevrolet Sedan Delivery is a fully sorted ambassador of swagger that you can invest in, drive around in and build some serious credibility in. Featuring an equal emphasis on both show and go, it seats a killer 502/700R4 drivetrain, fully custom suspension and supple leather trim in one of the most incredible hot rods we've ever seen! If you've been searching for a striking '50s showpiece, but want something that's more unique than a run-of-the-mill tri-five, this spectacular Chevy's excellent combination of vintage style and timeless class simply can't be beat! BODYWORK/TRIM The product of high quality restoration that was conducted by two body shops, this slick wagon features a lust worthy appearance that's ready to burn down the Manufacturers' Midway! The build began when Steve's Auto Restorations of Portland, Oregon replaced the car's factory lead and sealed everything in a thick coat of protective primer. With a solid foundation laid, Steve Cooley Motors of Homosassa, Florida followed subtle modification with a custom combination of Corvette LeMans Blue and Cadillac Sand Effect DuPont Chroma Premier 2-stage. And today, countless hours and over six-figures later, this Chevy rolls as a lights-out show car that's been deservedly fawned over by some of the biggest names in the business. As a classic car owner, you really can't go wrong with any '50s Chevy. But for many people, the division's '57 model essentially perfected the art. Take a look at this gorgeous wagon and you'll see no less than 22 one-of-a-kind details that walk a fine aesthetic line between the timeless look of factory fodder and the radical, sometimes cheeky appearance of fiberglass recreations. At the front of the car, a recessed grille bar floats between modern headlamps, a filled bumper and a shaved and flattened hood. At the back of that hood, stainless-framed glass rides between modified drip rails, shaved vent windows, polished mirrors and Chevy 150 door trim. Beneath that trim, shaved doors perfectly align Chevy 150 side spears with shaved fenders and smooth-leaded quarters that are capped with Chevy 210 2-door wagon stainless. And at the back of the car, a shaved tailgate hangs between filled pan seams, flush-fit taillights and a bright chrome bumper. ENGINE As young car guys, most of us are taught that talking the talk means we'd better walk the walk. And when it comes to talking the talk, this sedan's inability to shut up can be directly attributed to the walking ability afforded by its 502 cubic inch GM Performance Parts big block. Twisting stout 9.75 to 1 compression into roughly 550 horsepower, the car's show-detailed mill is a logical testament to the old rule: more cubic inches equals more horsepower. A perfect air/fuel mixture is supplied by a K&N-toothed Billet Specialties air cleaner and 780cfm Quick Fuel carburetion. That dynamic duo rides on a ported and coated Edelbrock RPM Air Gap intake, which is bolted between ported and coated Chevrolet heads. Those heads hang polished and color-keyed valve covers over Crower roller rockers, custom Comp pushrods and high quality Crane lifters. Those lifters are tapped by a Crane cam, which is sequenced to loomed Taylor plug wires and an MSD Pro-Billet distributor. Spent gases roar through large exhaust pipes via custom William's headers. At the front of those headers, a familiar Vintage Air FrontRunner system spins a polished Stewart water pump between a Tuff Stuff alternator, a Sanden AC compressor and a Detroit Speed power steering pump. And that water pump feeds a beefy Griffin radiator that's wedged between Flex-a-lite puller fans and a Be Cool condenser. Visually, the Energy-mounted block rides in a smoothed and massaged engine bay that displays OEM-level attentiveness to both engineering and assembly. And details like Billet Specialties breathers, Billet Specialties hose clamps, a Billet Specialties water neck, ARP bolts, Fel-Pro gaskets and a Moroso dipstick create a clean and purposeful aesthetic. DRIVETRAIN Take a look under this tire-shredding courier and you'll find a custom, Luxo-Blue chassis that's ready for the strip or the turntable. Behind the big engine, a GM 700R4 4-speed spins between a high performance ProTorque torque converter and Coleman aluminum driveshaft. That driveshaft twists a proven Dutchman 9-inch that rocks an Auburn posi-traction differential around 3.55 gears and 31-spline axles. Those gears push the car on a trick Ridetech 4-link that's fitted with adjustable Ridetech air shocks. Opposite that 4-link, a Kimbridge Enterprises sub-frame makes good use of Belltech drop spindles, Global West control arms, a Flaming River quick-ratio steering box and two more adjustable Ridetech air shocks. At the corners of that modern suspension, hydroboosted Baer calipers bridge the gap between an SSBC master cylinder, and drilled and slotted rotors. Charred dinosaurs float from the aforementioned headers to 2.5-inch, mandrel-bent pipes that employ an X-shaped crossover and polished Magnaflow mufflers. And power meets the pavement through attractive Budnik Cannons, which spin 245/40ZR18 Falken FK452s in front of 255/40ZR19 Falken FK452s. INTERIOR Pop the shaved doors and you'll find a substantially tweaked interior that was installed by Great 8 guru Dale Van Curen's Unlimited Designs. Front and center, '67 GTO buckets wrap bright stainless trim around creamy Doe hides. In front of those seats, a chrome-lined dash hangs a rebuilt clock, Vintage Air climate control and a Custom Autosound head unit beside traditional Classic Instruments gauges. At the edges of that dash, custom side panels anchor billet door handles between modern power windows, LeMans Blue frames and tasteful stainless trim. At the bottom of those panels, custom Doe carpet balances a custom, Chip Foose-autographed console between billet foot pedals and Dynamat sound insulation. In front of the driver, a custom Quality Restorations steering wheel spins a stylish "One Fifty" script around a color-keyed, tilting column. And behind the passengers, a custom-upholstered storage area features almost enough room for one season's plunder of trophies. During the disarray of the '80s malaise scene, there were hardcore gearheads. And even now, with increasing cost of ownership becoming the norm, there are still diehard gearheads. No matter where the future leads, there will ALWAYS be lifestyle enthusiasts who build a culture around the rush of turning transportation into art. And, unless you're one of us, it's something you'll probably never understand. So, what happens when a dedicated enthusiast decides to turn a decadent Detroit cruiser into a world-class pro-tourer? You get a razor-sharp head turner like this incredible Chevy Impala! The product of an uncompromising vision and many talented builders, this stunning classic wraps a tuned LS3 and stalwart 6-speed transmission in a tailored Morrison chassis and spotless '50s aesthetics. And, if you're a fellow enthusiast who's looking to satisfy an unrelenting need to headline shows and make a big statement, it's the award-winning drop-top of your dreams! BODYWORK/TRIM Designed and built at Tony's Kustoms in Lenoir City, Tennessee, this freshly finished Impala does an excellent job of wrapping vintage style around modern technology. In what amounted to a systematic, no-expense-spared rebuild, the car's solid body was completely stripped, thoroughly massaged and layered in a liquid-smooth coat of bright red 2-stage. With that paint buffed to brilliance, new glass was complemented with new, professionally polished trim and color-keyed quarter banners. With that profile dyed and detailed, Steve Holcomb of Knoxville's Pro Auto Interior custom-stitched a tight cloth top And in late 2015, this triple-red Chevy stormed the street rod scene, immediately earning a Staff Pick at the Goodguys 22nd Southeastern Nationals! ENGINE Toss the car's long hood and you'll find a hot LS3 small block that, thanks to Lloyd Sanders of Sanders Performance, looks ALMOST as good as it runs! GM Powertrain invested a great deal of time and research into getting the most out of its Gen IV V8, and it definitely shows. Changes started with a 20% stronger casting, featuring an increased bore of 103.25mm. Focus was then shifted to flow efficiency, resulting in the use of an all-new intake manifold and L92 rectangle-port heads. Factor in a new piston design, and injectors borrowed from the brutal LS7, and you get a very potent track weapon that happily doubles as an everyday commuter. At the top of the block, a conical, chrome-trimmed filter element funnels wind in to a polished air tube, which is hooked to a factory throttle body. At the sides of that throttle body, coated Street & Performance shorties bend under high quality Taylor plug wires. In front of those headers, an aftermarket serpentine drive spins a polished alternator and polished AC compressor behind a plethora of polished pulleys. In front of that drive, a polished PRC radiator swirls coolant around a fabricated expansion tank and big SPAL puller fan thanks to corrugated hoses. A Fastech Motorsports tune combines with Street & Performance wiring and an American Autowire harness to ensure everything communicates well. And details, like braided fluid lines, color-keyed dipsticks, a fully finished engine bay and cool, vintage-look fuel rail covers, ensure the mill maintains first class presentation. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION Park this Chevy on a lift and you'll find a super clean undercarriage that's been prepped, primped and polished to match the car's slick powerplant and stunning exterior. The well-mannered motor twists a modern 6L80 6-speed, which is hooked to a tough Strange 9-inch that's fitted with an Eaton Truetrac differential and fun, 3.55 gears. That Strange pumpkin is an integral part of an Art Morrison GT Sport chassis, which features Strange coil-over-shocks at all four corners. Detroit Speed power rack-and-pinion steering provides tracking. Quick stops are a cinch thanks to 4 and 6-piston Wilwood calipers, which utilize a Wilwood master cylinder and Wilwood proportioning valve to squeeze 13-inch slotted rotors. A custom exhaust system routes spent gases through throaty Magnaflow mufflers that pop and crackle just like vintage hardware. Stylish Billet Specialties wheels throw torque through 225/45ZR18 and 275/35ZR20 Continental ExtremeContact DWS. And everything, from the car's body-matched floors to its Rock Valley fuel tank, is well planned, exceptionally executed and ready to reflect! INTERIOR But the show doesn't stop there. Not by a long shot! When you pop this drop-top's doors, you'll find a custom leather cockpit that, like the car's top, was installed by Steve Holcomb of Knoxville's Pro Auto Interior. Top dead center, a body-matched dash hangs clean Classic Instruments gauges above MP3-compatible Custom Autosound audio. Opposite that dash, four silver-piped seats frame a custom, full-length console that balances a modern shifter between Vintage Air climate control and switches for the aforementioned top and Nu-Relics power windows. Beneath that console, clean California Carpet bleeds in to custom side panels that are detailed with custom brightwork. In front of the driver, a tilting Ididit steering column spins a reduced diameter wheel. And behind the passengers, a leather-lined trunk features ample storage space. This time, offering literal proof that cultural icons only get better with age, it's a 999-point national award winner. So, how do you make an already hot car even more desirable? You start with great maintenance and then flesh out an increasingly appealing roster of top-notch hardware. If you like your classic to be fun to show AND fun to drive, take a close look at this trophy worthy tri-five! BODYWORK/TRIM The great thing about '55-'57 Chevys is that you can customize them any way you want. On the other hand, the terrible thing about '55-'57 Chevys is that you can customize them any way you want. Truly spectacular tri-fives are much less common than their vast production numbers would suggest, but when they're as well done as this double nickel, they tend to stand out from the pack. Sure, the car's flashy Gypsy Red paint certainly helps in achieving that effect, but it is a very traditional color. And when combined with flowing sheetmetal, 50s-era trim and Shoreline Beige uppers, it goes from flashy to classically elegant. ENGINE Pop the hood and you'll find a reliable, 350 cubic inch small block that's been bored .030 over, fitted with a hot Crane cam and equipped with traditional flattop pistons. Revs are created when a chrome, bowtie-topped air cleaner floats wind in to a coated Edelbrock carburetor and aluminum Edelbrock intake. At the perimeter of that intake, 76cc heads hang hardened valve seats under chrome Edelbrock rocker covers and a bowtie-branded breather. Behind that breather, a modern HEI distributor shoots spark through loomed Moroso Super Stock plug wires. Below those wires, trick manifolds take care of spent gases while traditional V-belts spin an upgraded alternator between modern air conditioning and modern power steering. And in front of those ancillaries, a beefy Be Cool radiator fronts a giant SPAL puller fan. Despite being a thoroughly modernized piece, the Chevy Orange mill looks right at home in the car's Satin Black engine compartment. And details like a polished brake booster, a coated fuel pump and a quality CVR starter mix first-rate looks with first-rate functionality. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION Like its clean engine bay and classy exterior panels, the bottom of this road ready sedan continues the theme of pairing proven hardware with enhanced technology. Predictably, the smooth small block transfers power to a reliable 700R4 4-speed. That tweaked transmission torques a tough JWC driveshaft, which spins a familiar Ford 9-inch around 3.50 gears and 31-spline Moser axles. Naturally the car's suspension has been thoroughly upgraded, with 2-inch drop blocks and relocated leaf springs following tubular control arms, 2-inch drop spindles and a sturdy front sway bar. Turns come courtesy of modern power steering. Power-assisted discs provide quick stops. Exhaust exits through welded turbo mufflers and polished stainless tips. And all that reliable hardware rides on a sweet set of chrome Rally Wheels, which spin 215/65R15 BF Goodrich Radial T/As in front of 255/60R15 BF Goodrich Radial T/As. INTERIOR Featuring sharp Delray upholstery, this tri-five's carefully restored interior is both clean and impressive. Broad bench seats are color matched to the car's Gypsy and Shoreline paint. In front of those seats, a glossy dash hangs Custom Autosound audio, Classic Auto air conditioning and Dakota Digital telemetry behind bowtie-stamped stainless. At the floor, clean California Carpet floats a small console and "Bel Air" branded floor mats beneath big Pioneer kick speakers and bowtie-branded foot pedals. On the doors, 2-tone panels hang small armrests and traditional hardware beneath mirrored window frames and cool bowtie lock knobs. At the roof, a tight headliner flows to a straight package tray and large Pioneer deck speakers. The driver stays connected to the road through a stylish, 15-inch steering wheel, which laps a billet shifter and modern, tilting column. And the passengers stow their essentials beside the car's battery in a fully restored trunk. If you're a serious Chevrolet collector who's looking to pick up a unique piece of modern muscle, or a diehard Earnhardt fan that's always wanted to pilot a menacing sports coupe, here's your chance to shine! HISTORY/BODY It's no secret that Chevrolet is an automotive division founded by, and named after, a prominent racecar driver. To celebrate the rampant success of the brand's NASCAR teams, GM decided to produce limited edition Monte Carlos that honored fans' favorite drivers. Without a doubt, Dale Earnhardt, a man whose name is virtually synonymous with the word Chevrolet, was one of the fans' most respected icons. The Intimidator project was initiated in 1998, when Earnhardt debuted the Intimidator Concept at the North American International Auto Show to preview NASCAR's influence on the sixth generation Monte Carlo. The first production Intimidator was essentially a run of 3,333 stripe-and-decal packages made available on the just adequate 2002 Monte Carlo SS. Then in 2004, when GM finally decided to gift the car their much-lauded supercharged V6, production ramped for 4,000 much-improved Intimidators. In addition to the hotter engine, now officially dubbed the Monte Carlo Supercharged SS, the car received an upgraded interior, an enhanced suspension and unique aesthetics. Naturally, a lot of Black paint was in order. NASCAR-style ground effects perfectly complemented a NASCAR-style deck spoiler. Red Chevrolet bowties joined red and silver "Intimidator SS" badging that could be found on the car's decklid and, in typical Monte Carlo fashion, just in front of the rear tires. And bright exhaust tips looked good trailing chrome, diamond-cut wheels. Logging only 6,522 miles over the course of 12 years, this particular 2004 Intimidator SS remains in great condition. And, aside from the car's "Intimidator" windshield banner and requisite Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet dealer decal, it rolls just as it left the showroom. DRIVETRAIN As you've probably gleaned, the sixth generation Monte Carlo was factory-equipped with GM's beefy 3800 Series II V6. And when customers checked the box for a top-option Supercharged SS, the car came equipped with a proven Eaton blower. Internally dubbed the L67, this relatively light engine is a highly reliable piece that has an excellent reputation for strong internals and impressive power. Behind the growling mill, a proven GM 4T65E-HD 4-speed makes excellent use of big displacement torque. That drivetrain rides on a wide MacPherson Strut performance suspension, which mixes standard traction control with a 10mm-reduced ride height. Stops are provided by large, power-assisted discs, which benefit from standard ABS technology. Exhaust rolls to bright stainless tips via stainless, factory-spec pipes. Power flows through diamond-cut, Intimidator-spec blades, which twist 235/55R17 Goodyear Eagle RS-As around familiar red bowties. And overall, this Chevy is an absolute delight to drive, serving as a high-water mark for the large, comfortable coupe niche that has all but disappeared. INTERIOR This sculpted Monte's sporty leather interior begins with Earnhardt-branded seats that feature 6-way power adjustment for the car's driver. In front of those seats, an Intimidator-branded dash hangs an optional 200-watt sound system between dual-zone climate control and trademark, Earnhardt-branded instrumentation. At the center of that dash, a narrow console founds a monochromatic shifter on clean carpet, color-keyed floor mats and brash Intimidator sills. Above those sills, simple door panels frame power windows, power door locks and power mirrors. A tilting, leather-wrapped steering wheel keeps cruise control and audio selection at the driver's fingertips. And a cavernous trunk continues the car's roomy theme. PROVENANCE Naturally, this exclusive Chevrolet was born with a long list of standard and optional equipment. This incredible Mercury kustom! With the universal appeal of high dollar eye candy, and the road going prowess of a fully sorted cruiser, this slick Monterey is a unique, well built classic that provides its owner the best of both worlds. And what's better: you can have your show stopper and drive it too for a fraction of the money and time it takes to complete a ground-up build. If you're an anxious buyer who's tired of the 'garage furniture' culture that seems to pervade the classic car hobby, this stunning Merc is one of the coolest road-ready customs your money can buy! BODYWORK/TRIM Purchased in 2008 as a fully restored driver, this slick hardtop has been carefully finessed into a one-of-a-kind piece of art. Of course, every work of art needs a solid canvas, and under the car's many modifications you'll find solid steel that, based on appearance, has never been botched or wrinkled in any significant way. That smooth surfacing makes for a super clean profile that's been laboriously block-sanded and covered in a stunning combination of Ford Red Candy Metallic and Jet Black 2-stage. And ultimately, the car debuted as an excellent looking classic that walks a fine line between traditional street rod swing and outrageous SoCal flair. A kustom in the truest sense of the term, this Merc gets cues from a variety sources both literal and figurative. At the front of the car, a lightly massaged grille frames frenched headlights, a factory-spec bumper, and a '50 Ford hood that's been nosed and louvered. Behind that hood, factory-tint glass founds mirrored wipers and straight stainless frames beneath small vent visors and a modified, NOS windshield visor. Beneath that glass, '55 Pontiac profile trim perfectly complements factory rocker guards and factory fender skirts. At the edges of that trim, Buick-style portholes and correct Monterey badging add a little form while traditional door handles and classy mirrors instill a little function. And at the back of the car, dualed '95 Cadillac taillights frame a decked trunk and an Impala-branded fuel filler above a snazzy '55 Pontiac bumper. ENGINE Many Dearborn kustoms get by on traditional flathead power. And I do mean "get by" in the most literal sense of the phrase. While extremely cool, and chock full of character, flatheads aren't particularly known for earth-shaking performance when strapped to heavy '50s metal. Sourced directly from GM Performance Parts, this Merc's sprier personality comes courtesy of a 350 cubic inch ZZ4 crate engine that twists stout 10 to 1 compression into 355 horsepower and 405 lb./ft. of torque. The mean motor's energy mixture is supplied by a coated Holley carburetor, which is sandwiched between an Edelbrock Performer intake and polished, transverse air cleaner. That mixture travels in to aluminum L98 cylinder heads, which hang polished valve covers and polished breathers over stamped rocker arms and hypereutectic pistons. That valvetrain combusts thanks to a forged, internally-balanced crank, powdered connecting rods and a billet cam. Fire for that combustion comes courtesy of a modern HEI distributor and Autolite Professional Series plug wires. That fire is kept in check by a beefy radiator, which is mated to chrome flex hoses and a polished expansion tank. Traditional V-belts spin a rebuilt alternator opposite a modern AC compressor while spent gases are cycled through iron GM manifolds. And first-rate details include: an Optima battery, a small pressure gauge, a Wilwood proportioning valve and a Holley fuel regulator. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION Every good street rod has a solid foundation. Flip this polished classic upside down and you'll find a roster of mechanical improvements that mix vintage looks with modern mobility. Behind the small block, a tough 700R4 4-speed features an adjustable lock-up converter. That gearbox drives a sturdy, highway friendly axle, which rides on traditional leaf springs and small lowering blocks. Opposite that axle, an independent front-half features power rack-and-pinion steering. Power front disc and rear drum brakes are a welcome addition and big performance upgrade. There's a true-dual exhaust system that mixes throaty Magnaflow mufflers with polished stainless tips. And everything rides on old school steelies, which spin 215/75R15 Dean Alpha 365 whitewalls around what appear to be '50s Dodge hubcaps. INTERIOR Like its solid mechanicals and striking body, this Monterey's interior is an eclectic mix of bests. A '59 Chevy dash hangs modern air conditioning, clear Dolphin telemetry and a crisp Sony CD player between a Guide traffic light viewer and 12-volt power outlets. In front of that dash, '66 Thunderbird seats feature power adjustment for the car's driver. Between those seats, a custom oil pan console tops premium carpet, which is protected by piped and color-keyed floor mats. That dash, seat and carpet trifecta is cased in a tight headliner and classy factory door panels. In front of the driver, a modern tilt steering column bridges the gap between a '59 Impala wheel and digital gear selector. And behind the passengers, a fully finished trunk hides a small spare tire. OUR SALE INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTATION AND ACCESSORIESA trophy awarded to the car at a local cruise-in This striking Merc is a nicely finished classic that was built to be driven AND seen. It uses top-notch components from some of the best names in the business to create a unique kustom that mixes killer personality with awesome curb appeal. According to sales, '55-'57 resto-mods are often considered our best offerings. And it's easy to see why when cars like this Viper Blue 210, an offering that backs proven LS1 power with an upgraded drivetrain and custom leather upholstery, are casting bright glares in our sedate photo booth. It's pretty evident that this Chevy was envisioned as one of the coolest cruisers on the strip. And, judging by initial reaction, perception certainly mirrors reality. If you're searching for a sizzling custom that mixes fully sorted mechanicals with great aesthetics, you've found your next classic! BODYWORK/TRIM The essential part of building a jaw dropping custom is: knowing EXACTLY when to hold back. And, with an icon like the Chevy tri-five, even the subtlest touches go a long way. Naturally, the pros who massaged this wagon's California body paid plenty of attention to the fundamentals, but their primary focus was creating the most perfect surfacing possible. That surfacing is founded on mostly-original panels that are impressively flat, displaying nary a ripple or wave anywhere. As expected, those straight pieces ensure fit and finish that's significantly above '50s factory fodder. Speaking of factory, the car's original trim was removed, subjected to $3,500 of hand polishing and carefully reinstalled. And that stainless is highlighted by a glossy coat of Viper Blue 2-stage that blows traditional pastels straight out of the water! One thing about classic car guys is they're uncanny ability to methodically plot, plan and execute even the minutest details. The guy who built this spectacular cruiser probably spent weeks doing just that. At the front of the car, a body-width bumper anchors a Satin Black grille behind clear parking lamps, a traditional Chevrolet crest and chrome-trimmed headlights. At the top of that grille, a smoothed, "Chevrolet" branded hood utilizes a reversed factory latch to adopt the forward-tilt look popularized by the car's Corvette brethren. At the back of that hood, capped wipers lead smoked glass, which is like new all the way down to its 1-piece front passenger windows. At the base of that glass, Bel Air profile spears traverse shaved doors that are accented with correct mirrors. And at the back of the car, a custom smoothie bumper frames correct taillights, bright Chevrolet badging and modernist, center-outlet exhaust tips. ENGINE Tilt the aforementioned hood and you'll find 5.7 liters of LS1 V8 that makes over 300 horsepower! Straight from the factory, that proven mill combines a sturdy aluminum block with lightweight aluminum heads, coil-near-plug ignition and aluminum flat top pistons to create razor-sharp throttle response and a torque band that's as wide as Texas. At the front of the engine, factory serpentine components spin GM-spec ancillaries just beneath a painted and bowtie-branded air cleaner. Once air enters that cleaner, it flows through a painted, "LS1" branded throttle body to a painted intake, which is bolted down over completely stock internals. High-octane fossils are provided by GM electronic fuel injection. Spent gases roar through factory-spec headers. And cooling comes courtesy of a custom aluminum radiator that's sandwiched between three electric fans. Aesthetically, the Cast Silver mill and its assortment of bright accessories seem right at home inside their smooth, body-matched frame. And details like braided hoses, polished fluid reservoirs and a small Summit fuel pressure gauge ensure this Chevy walks a fine line between looks and performance. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION Not surprisingly, the bottom of this show worthy bowtie continues the theme of pairing proven hardware with enhanced technology. Behind the awesome engine, a tough Tremec 6-speed makes good use of a narrowed Ford 9-inch, which is built with 3.25 gears and sturdy Moser axles. Turns come courtesy of power rack-and-pinion steering. Four disc brakes scrub speed. Large-diameter exhaust pipes feed Hooker Super Competition Aero Chamber mufflers. The car's Satin Black floors hover on a Satin Black frame, which rides on a Fatman independent front-clip and Ridetech 4-link rear-half. That suspension adds swagger via Ridetech ShockWave air ride, which kneels thanks to dual air tanks. And that hardware rolls on sweet Schott Modsport wheels, which spin 225/45R18 Bridgestone Duelers in front of 315/35R20 Bridgestone Duelers. INTERIOR Pop the doors and you'll find a custom, completely reworked interior. Front and center, a quartet of leather and suede buckets mixes modern lap belts with modern power adjustment for the car's driver and front passenger. In front of those seats, a blue-stitched dash anchors blue-lit Dakota Digital telemetry, Vintage Air Streamline controls and a blue-lit Dakota Digital clock in a custom, hand-fabricated instrument panel. At the base of that dash, a custom, full-length console centers a sturdy shifter between bright power window switches, hidden Ridetech hardware and components for hidden, MP3-compatible audio. That console floats on like-new carpet, which bridges the gap between billet foot pedals and leather and suede door panels that are dotted with brushed handles. The driver spins a taut Budnik steering wheel around a tilting Ididit column. And the passengers stow gear in a custom cargo hold that, when electronically popped, hides its contents under a custom Tonneau. Sporting a detailed restoration that would probably take a second mortgage to duplicate, this 210 rolls on the right side of impressive. It's a highly desirable tri-five that's been carefully fitted with all of the right stuff to be one seriously cool cruiser. If you're dreaming of the perfect blend of lavish '50s style and modern, reliable performance, you've found your next classic! About This Auction Please note that all sales are binding and final. Yes, that's right, this 'lil hauler has the legendary L79 under it hood, and a Muncie four-speed...And you thought you were just attracted to this one because of its good looks. This is really the holy grail El Camino. This hot '67 is only one of five L79 El Caminos currently listed in the National L79 Registry, and this one is truly the prize. It was sold new in Oregon and spent nearly 45 years in that area, with all of its original components. Then in 2012 this Chevy was given a complete frame off restoration from the ground up. That's why the bodywork looks straighter than even any Tuesday car that came out of the Fremont, California facility. On top of that is fresh paint that takes GM's iconic shade of Marina Blue, but gives it a much more modern and deep shine than the factory ever could. Even the truck bed shines with a look-at-me quality. This transformation back to factory fresh would not be compete without the chrome and stainless trim being in immaculate condition, on everything from the wide grille, to the ribbed rear end that can make a tailgate still look like a Chevelle. The final touch gives you a nice choice between large Torq Thrust style wheels, on modern low-profile tires, or original-style painted steel wheels with bright bow-tie hubcaps and Firestone Wide Oval redline tires this El Camino comes with both! The moment you open the door, you'll swear it's 1967, and that's for a very good reason. The complete restoration included putting the factory interior back to original spec. The black vinyl bench has the kind of cushioning that feels like no one else ever sat here before. The wood-rimmed sports steering wheel feels ready to be warn-in by a loving caretaker. Even the heat/defrost controls glide with ease. It has the kind of atmosphere that you know you'll love resting your right hand on the shifter and watching the needle rapidly climb on the extra wide speedometer. As we've mentioned before under the hood is the numbers-matching, ER code, L79 327 cubic-inch V8 motor. But it's not just the block that's correct in this exceptionally clean engine bay. That's the original Holley 3806 carburetor sitting on top of a Winters intake that feeds factory-spec 462 heads. Are you starting to get the picture on this one? This El Camino has one of those legendary factory underrated engines with an advertised 325 horsepower. It was a feared package even by the big blocks in the 60s, and today it's a sought-after collectable that offers a wicked exhaust rumble. It only gets better with the original Muncie four-speed manual transmission, backed up by a factory-installed 12-bolt Positraction rear end running a versatile 3.55 ratio. As expected with this level of restoration, the suspension has also been rebuilt correctly, including Saginaw steering gear, and rebuilt drum brakes with boxed control arms, and correct spiral shocks. Now you can be confident in driving this classic even with its pristine original appearance. In a cared for car like this, it should be no surprise that it comes with plenty of documentation such as the original warranty card, owner's manual, and plenty of restoration receipts. There is so much more to this amazing and rare El Camino that we don't have the space to write it all, but we'll be happy to take the time to tell you all about it. Give us a call now before someone else snags this El Camino of your dreams!! 1967 Chevrolet El Camino for Sale 1967 Chevrolet El Camino for Sale Stock # 3223-CHA Charlotte Showroom 5400 West WT Harris Blvd Charlotte, NC 28269 Local/International: (704) 598-2130 Toll-Free: (866) 542-8392 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] Atlanta Showroom 213 Thornton Rd Lithia Springs, GA 30122 Local/International: (678) 279-1609 Toll-Free: (877) 367-1835 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] Dallas/Fort Worth Showroom 5400 Sandshell Dr Fort Worth, TX 76137 Local/International: (817) 764-8000 Toll-Free: (855) 877-2707 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM CST Sat: 9AM - 5PM CST Email: [email protected] Tampa Showroom 4610 Pet Lane Lutz, FL 33559 Local/International: (813) 501-1630 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] TERMS OF SALE 1. At least, that's how the saying goes in OUR octane-fueled world. Of course, that list is a little unfair to tri-fives because, unlike death and taxes, old school Chevys are a lot of fun. And this coupe, with its brutal 502, stylish leather interior and classic, 2-tone aesthetics, blends an array of custom, driver-friendly attributes into a vintage package that virtually anyone can enjoy! BODYWORK/TRIM When it comes to tri-five Chevys 2-tone paint is pretty much a given, and this hardtop's remarkable combination of black and silver 2-stage works well to freshen what has become a timeless hot rod color scheme. Naturally, the foundation for those pigments is a body-off, rotisserie restoration that spared no expense massaging the car's rock-solid surfacing into better-than-new condition. That surfacing is highlighted by a brilliant array of trim, which includes factory bumper guards, electric Rain Gear wipers, factory-tint glass and polished mirrors. And today, this classic rolls as a top-notch cruiser that's ready to turn heads and win trophies! ENGINE Glance under this double-nickel's hood and you'll find a sweet GM Performance Parts ZZ502 that's been built, polished and tweaked to 9.6 to 1 compression and a killer 502 horsepower! A perfect air/fuel mixture is supplied by a familiar Holley carburetor, which floats between an Aeromotive regulator, a Barry Grant pressure gauge, a Lokar throttle linkage and a bowtie-capped K&N air filter. That 4-barrel rides on an aluminum Chevrolet intake, which is bolted between lightweight aluminum heads. Those heads hang snazzy Chevrolet valve covers over stamped steel rocker arms, 2.25-inch intake valves and 1.88-inch exhaust valves. Those rockers are engaged by a hydraulic roller cam, which is sequenced to loomed GM plug wires and a modern Delco-Remy distributor. Spent gases roll through beefy Sanderson headers. At the front of those headers, a familiar March serpentine drive spins a Stewart water pump between a modern AC compressor, a proven Wilson alternator and modern power steering. And that pump feeds an aluminum Griffin radiator that's wedged between two electric pusher fans and an aftermarket pulley fan. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION Structurally, the '55 Chevrolet is an extremely versatile platform that can accept a wide variety of enhancements. And one look under this Bel Air provides a glimpse of how a few quality modifications can make a big difference. Behind the big block, a tough 700R4 hangs a powder-coated case and cast fluid pan between a Mark Williams driveshaft and 2,500 RPM stall converter. That driveshaft twists a matching Mark Williams third member, which spins Dutchmen axles around 3.50 Richmond gears. That drivetrain rides a full Jim Meyers Racing Products chassis, which mixes a lowered ride height with beefy sway bars, tubular control arms and adjustable QA-1 coil-overs. The aforementioned power steering pushes a modern rack-and-pinion setup. Stops come courtesy of GM-style power front disc and rear drum brakes. Exhaust is handled by aluminized, true-dual pipes, which employ throaty DynoMax mufflers. Grip is provided by polished Cragar Street Pros, which spin 205/65R15 BF Goodrich Advantage T/As in front of 255/55R17 BF Goodrich Advantage T/As. And everything, from the car's finned transmission coolers to its Rock Valley fuel tank, appears purpose-built to tackle the asphalt. INTERIOR There is no shortage of tri-fives with custom leather interiors, but a car this comfortable is always a stand out. With Airtique climate control and powerful Custom Autosound audio, all the modern conveniences are present and accounted for. One of the best additions to the cabin is a sculpted TEA's Design seat, which folds driver and passenger armrests in front of a stock, bowtie-branded bench. In front of those thrones, a body-matched dash frames hidden audio components in polished aluminum trim and VDO telemetry. The carpet is extra plush, floating color-keyed, "Bel Air" branded floor mats between a billet throttle pedal and big kick speakers. In front of the driver, a tilting Ididit column spins a polished, half-wrapped and color-keyed wheel. And behind the passengers, a fully finished trunk hides a Custom Autosound CD changer and Optima gel cell battery beneath crisp Pioneer speakers. Fun was, and is, an inherent part of building or driving any tri-five Chevy. And, with its impressive engine, comfortable interior and relentless style, this slick '55 is sure to be a blast! If you're ready to own a classic that can truly do it all, fire up your phone, clear some garage space and claim this awesome resto-mod! That being said, sharp sheetmetal paled in comparison to the car's most significant upgrade: the legendary L79 option. As intentionally nondescript as the Super Sport trim it accompanied, L79 netted the car's lucky new owner a 327 cubic inch, 350 horsepower small block that was cribbed directly from the Corvette. That mill was certainly a hit, as a little over 5,400 of the red-hot bowties were ordered. But, unfortunately, most were purchased strictly for the quarter mile, which means, thanks to the law of attrition, finding an authentic L79 Nova is becoming increasingly difficult. Well, as you know, your friends at RK Motors Charlotte take pride in specializing in rare and hard to find classics. And that's why we're proud to feature this fully documented, registry-listed L79 Nova. Wrapping a numbers-matching drivetrain in correct Marina Blue on Black aesthetics, this highly original wonder transforms the phrase "investment grade compact" from oxymoron into fact! BODYWORK/TRIM The beneficiary of a partial restoration that was conducted in the mid '90s, this Nova is a sharp weekend cruiser that currently presents much better than original factory fodder. During the car's precise reboot, solid sheetmetal was completely striped of its dull, original pigment. With that shell removed, and its foundation massaged into great alignment, correct Marina Blue base was sealed in mirror-like clear. And today, one close look at our high-resolution pictures reveals a handsome payoff in the form of one slick Chevrolet muscle car! The subdued and classy lines of the prototypical Nova are early '60s conservative. And because they're so universal in appeal, they've continued to gain significant popularity. At the front of this hardtop, a correct, black-trimmed grille hangs a classy "CHEVY II SS" badge between a mirrored bumper, clear parking lamps and bright, stainless-trimmed headlights. Above that grille, a finned hood anchors a simple Chevrolet crest in front of clean glass, polished wipers and straight stainless frames. At the sides of that hood, a clean, modernist profile centers small fender emblems and traditional door handles between straight wheel trim, a familiar bowtie mirror and correct Super Sport rocker guards. And at the back of the car, correct Super Sport trunk trim hangs red-detailed badging between vertical tail lamps and a second mirrored bumper. ENGINE Even if you forget everything else we tell you about this Chevy II, be sure to pay VERY close attention to what's under the car's hood. Motivating this real-deal Super Sport is a 1966-exclusive L79 V8 that, according to the factory, twists stout 11 to 1 compression into 350 Corvette-matching horsepower. Savvy collectors will quickly locate the original 327's correct 3791362 casting number, correct "ZI" suffix stamp and matching partial VIN. Casual observers will be quick to notice the mill's L79-exclusive polished, twin-snorkel air cleaner. And everyone will start to vibe when air and fuel flow from a big Holley carburetor in to a hot Winters intake that's framed by high-flow cylinder heads! That air/fuel mixture meets spark thanks to Packard TV R Suppression Cables, which crawl around polished valve covers on their way to a correct points distributor. Spent gases fall in to old school cast iron exhaust manifolds. There's a tagged radiator that joins a rebuilt alternator, a rebuilt master cylinder and a reproduction Delco battery to round out the car's first-rate ancillaries. And, when it comes to keeping up appearances, the entire engine compartment, from its Chevy Orange block to its Satin Black fenders, is clean, attractive and ready to roll! DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION One look under this sturdy compact reveals a solid chassis that's just as ready for the road as that stout 327. Power flows through an original Muncie 4-speed, which hangs a Muncie (P) assembled on March (03) 18th (18) 1966 build stamp behind a correct 3885010 casting number. That transmission twists a correct 12-bolt axle. Holding that virtually unbreakable drivetrain off the ground is a restored double A-arm front and leaf spring rear suspension. Stops come courtesy of manual drum brakes. Exhaust flows from the aforementioned manifolds to modern, aluminized pipes, which precede DynoMax Super Turbo mufflers with an H-shaped crossover. The body's unrestored floors wear a thick layer of original undercoating. And all that old school Americana rolls on traditional Chevrolet Rallies, which spin F70-14 Firestone redlines around polished trim rings and low profile center caps. INTERIOR Regardless of what motor made its way in to the subframe, the Nova always stayed true to its simplistic roots. No place was that more evident than in the car's cockpit. Front and center, nicely restored thrones provide seating. A showroom-quality dash balances rebuilt gauges between a correct Delco pushbutton radio and an original, Maine-mandated 4-way flasher switch. Beneath that dash, a Corvette-style shifter rides a chrome-trimmed console, which floats on like-new carpet that's protected by color-keyed floor mats. At the sides of that carpet, classy door panels are, like the car's headliner and package tray, virtually devoid of weathering. In front of the driver, a wide steering wheel laps a polished, "CHEVY II" branded horn bar. And behind the passengers, a matted trunk hides a full-size spare tire beneath a decaled decklid. HISTORICAL INFORMATION A quick look at this Nova's VIN, cowl tag and Protect-O-Plate authenticates it status as a correct, real-deal L79 Super Sport. One of the cars that practically defined the golden age of Detroit, Chevy's beloved panther has become some of the best-selling muscle of all time. Not surprisingly, demand for these cornerstone classics continues to be strong. And in the second half of 2015, we've already shipped NINE awesome Camaros to nine very satisfied owners. The beneficiary of a detailed rotisserie restoration, this real-deal X77 Z/28 is probably one of the coolest F1s we've ever offered. With a buff drivetrain, solid sheetmetal and exceptionally rare Azure Turquoise on Black aesthetics, it's the perfect turn-key muscle car for anyone who enjoys the hobby to its fullest. And if you're looking for an impressive set of wheels that'll roll straight out of the showroom and right in to the fast lane, it's your next classic! BODYWORK/TRIM Fresh out of a thorough rotisserie restoration, this super cool F-Body is a perfect blend of good craftsmanship and great attention to detail. With solid panels present and accounted for, the car was carefully straightened into better-than-new condition. Once that comprehensive metalwork transitioned from the garage bay to the paint booth, a classic '60s profile was re-sprayed in correct Azure Turquoise 2-stage. When that paint dried, it was accented with black Rally Stripes, sealed in glossy clear and buffed to a clean shine. And today, officially unleashed as the epitome of old school American style, this exclusive Z/28 is one seriously cool head turner that can drop jaws just as easily as it can win trophies. With its timeless proportions and modernist panels, the first generation Camaro is an inherently attractive design. At the front of this clean F1, a silver-trimmed grille anchors a two-tone "Z/28" emblem between bright halogen headlights, a mirrored bumper, '69-exclusive parking lamps and a D80 chin spoiler. Above that grille, a Camaro-branded header leads the eye past a correct hood to like-new glass that's seated in straight stainless frames. At the sides of that glass, a small mirror combines with traditional door handles, fresh rocker trim, simple "Camaro" emblems and bright "Z/28" badges to detail the car's sculpted fuselage. And at the back of that fuselage, a Camaro-branded decklid hangs a second D80 spoiler above a fourth "Z/28" emblem, '69-exclusive taillights and a second mirrored bumper. ENGINE Under this coupe's Kansas-flat hood you'll find a 302 cubic inch, era-correct small block that fronts a familiar 3970010 casting number with a correct "DZ" assembly stamp. Straight from the factory, Chevrolet's high performance SCCA Mustang slayer utilized high-flow, rectangular-port heads, a forged steel crank, forged steel rods and forged aluminum pistons to twist stout 11 to 1 compression into more than 350 horsepower! At the top of the red-hot mill, a chrome, open-element air cleaner swirls wind in to a correct Winters intake thanks to a familiar Holley carburetor. At the sides of that intake, authentic 'double hump' heads hang finned valve covers over shielded exhaust manifolds. And at the back of those heads, a mandatory points distributor shoots spark through fresh Packard TV R Suppression cables. When fired, the infamous 302 snarls and barks like a real competition piece. Its ancillary components are top-notch in every way, with fresh GM hoses, a refinished brake booster and a reproduction Delco Energizer accompanying a rebuilt alternator and era-correct smog equipment. And an evenly sprayed combination of Chevy Orange skin and Satin Black framing is capped by full hood insulation. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION Back in 1969, the only transmission you could get with your Z/28 was a tough Muncie 4-speed, and that's exactly what lives behind this car's mean small block. Naturally, that stalwart gear slinger centers a correct 3925660 casting number between a Muncie (P) M21 (B) assembled on May (E) 5th (05), 1969 (9) build stamp and matching partial VIN. There's a correct 12-bolt rear end, which rides in a fully rebuilt and correctly tagged suspension that centers factory power steering between 4-piston, Corvette-style brakes. That suspension is dissected by a beefy, true-dual exhaust system, which is fitted with a correct, transversely mounted muffler. That exhaust system is framed by solid floors, which are layered in pristine, Satin Black paint. Those floors roll on 15-inch Rally Wheels, which spin modern 215/65 BF Goodrich Radial T/As around dent-free trim rings and correct turbine center caps. And that chassis has, like the car's engine bay, been restored to fully sorted, road-ready condition. INTERIOR The Standard Black interior hiding behind this Camaro's small doors illustrates the true, no frills intentions of Chevrolet's original Z/28. Its pleated vinyl seats look and feel fantastic. In front of those seats, a monochromatic dash, which exhibits no signs of cracking or peeling, hangs a correct AC tachometer beside a correct Delco AM radio. At the base of that dash, a wood-trimmed console founds a chrome Hurst shifter behind factory 4-pack accessory gauges. That seat, dash and console trifecta is completely framed by a tight headliner, shielded carpet and correct Standard door panels. In front of the driver, a simple steering wheel laps a bright blue bowtie. And behind the passengers, the car's solid trunk hides a full-size spare tire beneath a fresh decklid decal. America's favorite mode of transportation is finally commanding the respect it deserves. And with awesome classics like this clean C10 mixing red carpet looks with everyday drivability, it's not hard to see why. A perfect blend of timeless style and proven mechanicals, this handsome half-ton is a first rate exercise in old school charm and vintage swagger. And if you're looking for a super cool cruiser that can be enjoyed for years to come, it's the classic of your dreams! BODYWORK/TRIM As far as styling goes, few vehicles have aged better than late '60s and early '70s Chevrolets. In fact, toeing the line between rock-solid and refined, the Action Line C/K is probably one of the most attractive trucks ever built. Making the best of that model's boxy proportions, this fleetside C10 seals slick, black paint under a glossy clearcoat shell. That sinister 2-stage highlights a laser-straight body, the result of a fresh restoration that wrapped in the Spring of 2015. That clean body's top-notch metalwork is, from the outside of its panels, completely undetectable. And best of all, those panels remain just as GM designed them, with nothing frenched, filled or altered in any major way. However, there are some cool details that really make this build pop. The reboot began with a black-trimmed grille, which hangs a vivid bowtie and bright halogen headlights above a mirrored bumper and factory parking lamps. Behind that grille, a domed hood leads the eye to fresh glass that's centered between a factory antenna, polished wipers and a small cargo light. At the sides of that glass, the truck's monochromatic, wet-look profile has been shaved of everything but traditional door handles, a simple fuel filler and 1-piece marker lamps. And at the back of that profile, a smoothed tailgate hides a clean Oak bed between trim-free tail lights and a second mirrored bumper. ENGINE Gaze in to the truck's body-matched engine bay and you'll find 427 cubic inches of Chevrolet big block! At the top of that storied mill, a Quick Fuel Technology 4-barrel mixes wind supplied by a polished and decaled air filter with fuel that's piped through stainless fluid lines and a mechanical pump. That air/fuel mixture floods a polished Edelbrock intake on the way to iron Chevrolet heads, which hang polished valve covers between a polished breather and Hooker Competition headers. At the back of those heads, an aftermarket HEI distributor sequences spark through loomed Moroso Wire Technologies plug wires. Opposite that distributor, a combination of billet and steel pulleys spin a rebuilt alternator, requisite power steering and a modern AC compressor. In front of those pulleys, a fresh aluminum radiator circulates coolant around a stylized support and shrouded pulley fan. And details like a Lokar throttle linkage, a CPP master cylinder and factory-spec Harrison AC components frame the Chevy Orange engine in a sea of pleasing and functional ancillaries. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION With that kind of power on tap, it should come as no surprise that the bottom of this C10 features a host of noteworthy upgrades. Everything starts with a sturdy, factory chassis that was thoroughly powder-coated during the truck's frame-off restoration. Behind the sweet engine, a proven 700R4 4-speed engages a stout, 12-bolt rear end. That fully sorted drivetrain rides on a lowered, factory-spec suspension. Stops are provided by red, power-assisted calipers, which squeeze drilled and slotted rotors at all four corners. Modern power steering provides good feel and great performance. Spent gases float from the aforementioned headers to Mandrel-bent pipes and polished Magnaflow mufflers. Power meets the pavement through Billet Specialties Bonneville Gs, which spin a quartet of 255/55R18 Nitto NT420S. And everything, from this Chevy's stainless fluid lines to its urethane chassis bushings, is fresh, expertly finished and ready for action. INTERIOR In the '70s, trucks were all about comfort and utility not DVDs, wireless and navigation systems. That's why it's so refreshing to hop in the cab of this purposeful but nicely appointed half-ton. The star of the show is a houndstooth bench that definitely ups the style quotient. Below that seat, stain-free carpet is stretched tight between fresh sound deadening and stainless-trimmed foot pedals. Above that carpet, petite door panels found chrome door handles behind chrome window cranks. Above those panels, a stainless-trimmed headliner leads a manually operated courtesy lamp. Steering is channeled through a familiar Chevy rally wheel, which spins around a tilting column. And at the front of the cockpit, a stylish dash hangs factory telemetry beside factory air conditioning and a direct-fit stereo. OUR SALE INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTATIONA few build photos If you're looking for a unique classic that mixes a great restoration with unmatched style and instant fun, this Chevy deserves your full attention. It's spectacular from every angle. It plays to a level of nostalgia that everyone can appreciate. It was the ride your upper class neighbors enjoyed and, like the original Bel Air, it wholly embodied the time of its creation. With that in mind, the detailed restoration of this national award-winning convertible involved a frame-off mix of nostalgia and convenience that created a better-than-new cruiser. Amenities like a correct big block and 2-speed Powerglide transmission make this the perfect car for fun drives while timeless lines, a stunning interior and miles of smooth paint are sure to keep collectors happy. If you're looking for a spectacular trophy queen that's road ready, show ready, and just plain ready to go, this fully-sorted Chevy is the investment grade classic you've been dreaming of! BODYWORK/TRIM The recipient of a 2006 AACA National First Prize, this brassy bowtie displays excellent bodywork that simply glistens under our bright showroom lighting. A lot of time and effort was put into making sure the car's profile is extremely straight, which resulted in Kansas-flat sheetmetal that's completely wave-free. That time was well spent as excellent panel gaps perfectly center hinged pieces that move freely and close with a solid thunk. And those pieces are bathed in a rich layer of Roman Red pigment, which has been sealed in glossy clear and buffed to a spectacular shine. Speaking of shine, Chevrolet's newly anointed line topper certainly did its fair share to pad the polishing industry. And, as with its sculpted body, all of this Impala's jewelry has been returned to glare-inducing condition. At the front of the car, a broad stainless grille hangs a bright Chevrolet crest between a clean chrome bumper, four T3 headlights and clear parking lamps. Above that grille, a wide-set "CHEVROLET" script stretches between cool '60 Impala fender toppers. Below those toppers, ornate louvers, stainless rocker guards and textured fin caps frame jet-inspired trim spears. At the tops of those spears, chrome-trimmed glass combines with small bowtie mirrors, traditional door handles and angled antennas to highlight a bright white roof. And behind that roof, six Impala-exclusive taillights illuminate a second chrome bumper, a wide stainless valence and flat fins that terminate at a second colorful crest. ENGINE In 1960, when one stepped up to a full-size Chevy, it was best they also transition from the Turbo Fire small block to the Turbo Thrust big block. And in the world of W-block big blocks, there existed two schools of thought. Chevy's 'Super' engines were torque-rich mills which employed basic hydraulic valvetrains that were a pleasure to cruise around town. And the brand's 'Special' engines were high-strung racehorses that employed tweaked mechanical bits engineered to blast down the 1/4 mile. Lift this Impala's smooth hood and you'll find 348 cubic inches of Super Turbo Thrust V8 that proudly displays a correct "FA" suffix stamp. A staple of working-class luxury, this impressive, big torque big block is one of the many reasons the Impala enjoys such fantastic name recognition. And absolutely every item from its thick coat of Chevy Orange paint to its unique, bowtie-branded valve covers has, at one point, been rebuilt, refinished or replaced. Front and center, a Satin Black, dual-snorkel air cleaner funnels wind in to a fully restored tri-power set up that includes three Rochester 2-barrel carburetors and a network of stainless fuel lines. At the sides of those carbs, restored exhaust manifolds allow the oversquare cylinders ample breathing room by funneling spent gases in to correct, true-dual pipes. At the back of those manifolds, a traditional points distributor sequences fire between a Pertronix coil and correct Radio GM plug wires. Cooling is provided by a screened radiator, which sends water past correct tower clamps via reproduction GM hoses. Charge comes courtesy of a tagged Delco yellow cap battery, which jolts a tagged Delco-Remy generator. And the car's Satin Black engine bay, which is as clean as the paint on its body, serves as an ideal backdrop for the mill's many different textures. DRIVETRAIN Park this Chevy on a lift and you'll find a solid undercarriage that, based on appearance, has probably never seen mud puddles or wet pavement. The car's straight floorpans, which are restored in correct Oxide Red primer, ride on a sturdy, Satin Black X-frame. An era-correct Powerglide 2-speed spins a familiar GM rear end that literally sails the engine through its broad power band. Under that capable drivetrain, a completely rebuilt coil suspension is equipped with optional power steering and power drum brakes. At the center of the floors, an aluminized, true-dual exhaust system utilizes throaty turbo mufflers to weave an aggressive, full-throttle rumble into a subdued and classy idle. At the corners of the suspension, great looking 8.00-14 BF Goodrich Silvertown whitewalls frame deluxe factory wheel covers. And everything, from this Chevy's mandatory sway bar to its leak-free fuel tank, is fully restored and ready for the show field. INTERIOR Covered in monochromatic houndstooth, this Impala's stunning interior has been restored to factory-fresh condition in virtually every way. The wide bench seats feel newer than the car's 55 years would suggest, and present just as well now as the day they rolled out of the upholstery shop. At the base of those seats, like-new carpet is and tight and fade-free. At the sides of that carpet, 2-tone door panels hang straight stainless trim around traditional handles, small power window switches and modernist armrests. At the front of those panels, a restored dash, which is chock full of rebuilt gauges, carries an old school AM radio. In front of the driver, a color-keyed steering wheel spins around a classic Impala centerpiece. And behind the passengers, a fully restored trunk seals a correct mat, correct jack and full-size spare tire below fresh decklid decals. OUR SALE INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTATIONA vintage Owner's ManualVintage instruction tags for some of the car's accessoriesA few service records With a clean restoration, fully sorted mechanicals and more style than pretty much anything on the road, this revered Impala literally defines the term "investment grade". But not many of those vintage machines can claim to be both rare and highly desirable from the day they left the showroom. Modeled after a famous GM Motorama concept, and sold as a high-price, low-production 'halo car', the first generation Nomad is a true all-time all-star. So, how do you make a car that's already as hot as this shooting-brake Chevy even more desirable? You completely refinish its body, bolt up some fresh suspension components, throw in a smooth small block and line it with a nice combination of classic style and modern convenience. If you like your tri-five to be fun to show off AND fun to drive, this award-winning Nomad is your next cruiser! BODYWORK/TRIM Despite the exceptional sales of Chevrolet's youthful Bel Air, the brand's higher priced Nomad proved less popular and, thanks to attrition, has now become even scarcer. Fortunately, this slick resto-mod has always been a solid, complete car that benefitted from decades of owners who were smart enough to know what they had. And recently, when it fell into the hands of B-Mac's Auto of Raleigh, North Carolina, big money was spent on a thorough, frame-off restoration. Once the car's tired enamel was removed, skilled metalwork remedied rust issues in its floor and right door. When the rebuild was close to completion, that arrow-straight fuselage was primed, carefully block-sanded and covered in a classy combination of white and silver 2-stage. And today, buffed and wet-sanded to a fantastic shine, this cool Chevy is both handsome and exquisite. One thing about classic car guys is they're uncanny ability to methodically plot, plan and execute even the minutest details. And the guy who built this spectacular cruiser probably spent weeks doing just that. At the front of the car, a body-width bumper rides below a straight stainless grille, clear parking lamps and chrome-trimmed Delta headlights. At the top of that grille, a fresh Chevrolet crest is centered beneath a classic 'jetbird' hood ornament. At the back of that hood, fresh trim, simple mirrors and electric windshield wipers highlight new glass. At the base of that glass, white-trimmed fender spears perfectly complement traditional door handles and monochromatic Bel Air emblems. And at the back of the car, a second body-width bumper rides below vertical tailgate trim, a gold "Nomad" emblem and correct Bel Air taillights. ENGINE This sweet looking Chevy is powered by a well-detailed LS2 that provides plenty of solid, reliable motivation. Straight from the factory, the rowdy mill utilizes 364 cubic inches to twist buff 10.9 to 1 compression into an even 400 horsepower and 400 lb./ft. of Oak-shaking torque. And despite consistently delivering track-blistering, low-end performance, it can rev to 6,500 RPM and drives like a commuter car! At the front of the aluminum block, a Vintage Air FrontRunner system spins a fresh alternator and Sanden AC compressor at the sides of a polished air cleaner. Once air enters that cleaner, it flows through a factory throttle body to a factory intake that's bolted down over completely stock internals. High-octane fossils are provided by GM electronic fuel injection. Sparks are sequenced from a requisite Street & Performance harness to beefy Taylor plug wires. Spent gases swirl through slick, ceramic-coated shorties. And cooling comes courtesy of a big cross-flow radiator that's fitted with pliable hoses, SPAL puller fans and an aftermarket support. On the visual end of the spectrum, color-keyed, "Chevrolet" branded rail covers perfectly complement a snazzy CPP master cylinder. The glossy engine compartment seats Satin Black fenders in front of a body-matched firewall. And niceties such as stainless fluid lines, a fully finished hood and a trick dipstick add a flash of detail. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION Throw the car on a lift and you'll find solid, undercoated floors that, along with a Satin Black frame, sport a restoration-fresh appearance. At the center of those floors, a proven 4L60E 4-speed spins torque to an 8.2-inch rear end that's fitted with moderate, 3.55 gears. At the ends of that drivetrain, a fully rebuilt suspension makes good use of two coil-over shocks, two QA-1 adjustable shocks, POSIES leaf springs and modern power steering. At the corners of that suspension, power-assisted disc and drum brakes turn stress-inducing traffic into a relaxing exercise in sightseeing. Between those discs, large-diameter exhaust pipes employ an X-shaped crossover and great-sounding Magnaflow mufflers. And all that mechanical goodness rolls on painted steelies, which spin two 215/70R15 BF Goodrich whitewalls and two 235/70R15 BF Goodrich whitewalls around charcoal wheel covers. Naturally, this impressive wagon's undercarriage is clean and fully sorted. However, as mentioned before, this Nomad was built to drive, and it'll be right at home inspiring stares on sunny weekend getaways. INTERIOR Climb inside this razor-sharp tri-five and you'll find a lightly modified interior that features dramatic style and enough great looking trim to payroll a small upholstery shop. Covered in '64 Impala Oyster vinyl, the car's bench seats, a Glide unit up front and factory fodder out back, are all-day comfortable. Beneath those seats, traditional carpet centers color-keyed floor mats under a metal accelerator pedal. Opposite that carpet, fancy chrome bows highlight a tight headliner. At the sides of the car, textured door panels look great hovering between chrome handles, sculpted armrests and body-matched window frames. In front of those panels, a bowtie-trimmed dash hangs Classic Instruments telemetry above controls for a Vintage Air climate system and a Custom Autosound head unit that's hidden in the car's factory glovebox. In front of the driver, a painted tilt steering column spins an ornate wheel. And behind the passengers, a carpeted cargo hold is primed for lawn chairs and picnic supplies. With a plush interior, head turning body and modern car streetability, this wagon is the perfect combination of form and function. In fact, this Nomad is the best of all worlds! They're a very loyal group which wholeheartedly believes that a lightweight, dramatically styled body behind a high performance, overhead valve V8 is the end all/be all of performance. And since that mindset has produced 62 years of spectacular looking cars, which handily eat the lunch of more expensive exotics from all over the world, it's hard to fault their logic. Professionally restored with a combination of original and NOS parts, this fully documented Stingray is a numbers-matching dynamo that's poised to electrify fans and attract trophies! Looking for a pedigreed classic that's storied, cool and still relatively affordable? Step right up and vet this Vette! BODYWORK/TRIM Hailing from GM's shuttered St. Louis assembly plant, this solid C3 is the beneficiary of a high quality, ground-up restoration that was conducted by His Place Inc. of Emmitsburg, Maryland. Utilizing only NOS and refurbished original parts, that meticulous reboot was topped with correct Mulsanne Blue 2-stage, accented with a white hood side stripe and capped with fresh white vinyl. Once that finish was allotted sufficient drying time, its surfaces were sanded and buffed into a ripple-free glow that's virtually as smooth as glass. And today, this top dog Chevy rolls as a spectacular piece of iconic American muscle that's detailed to better-than-new standards. ENGINE Tilt the car's hood and you'll find an original, 350 cubic inch LT-1 V8 that hangs a correct 3970010 casting number behind a correct "CGZ" assembly stamp and matching partial VIN. At the top of the Chevy Orange mill, a correct Holley carburetor rides between a polished and decaled air cleaner and bright, stainless fluid lines. Below that carburetor, a familiar Winters intake funnels a perfect air/fuel mixture in to beefy, cast iron heads, which wear finned Corvette valve covers. When the juice hits the cylinders, a correct transistor ignition system sparks fresh, stainless-sleeved wires while a solid lifter rotating assembly pushes spent gases through cast iron exhaust manifolds. Cooling is provided by a rare aluminum radiator, which rides in front of a correct starter, a correct alternator, a correct water pump and a correct fan assembly. And overall, this Chevy's tidy engine compartment is exceptionally well done; framing items like a factory expansion tank and rare smog pump in clean, Satin Black fenders. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION Peer under this low-slung roadster and you'll find a pristine chassis that's straight, solid and ready for its close-up. The car's original small block twists torque through an original Muncie 4-speed, which hangs a Muncie (P) M20 (A) assembled on April (D) 15th, (15) 1971 (1) build stamp between a correct 3925661 casting number and matching partial VIN. That Muncie makes good use of a tough posi-traction rear end that's fitted with correct 3.55 gears. Beneath that drivetrain, a fully rebuilt suspension combines optional power steering with tight turns and increased grip. In the middle of the car, an aluminized, true-dual exhaust system pipes spent gases through rear-mounted mufflers and polished stainless tips. At the corners of the car, power-assisted discs ensure quick, drama-free stops. And all that fully sorted hardware rolls on handsome rally wheels, which spin fresh 215/70R15 Multi-Mile Matrix Tourers around dent-free trim rings and turbine center caps. INTERIOR Open this Corvette's sculpted doors and you'll find a correct Dark Blue interior that was completely replaced during the car's extensive restoration. At the center of that interior, fresh bucket seats suspend tight covers over correct seatbelts and bright stainless trim. Between those seats, a small console centers a traditional chrome shifter amid clean, color-keyed floor mats. Opposite that console, fade-free side panels point stainless handles at the base of a crack-free dash. And that dash, which features fully rebuilt telemetry, frames a satin-spoke steering wheel and correct pushbutton radio.
