This Coupe Deville stayed in Beverly Hills until 2010 when it was purchased from there estate. Cadillac was then relocated to the east coast. The Coupe De Ville then received a cosmetic and mechanical restoration. Exterior refinished in beautiful crystal red metallic. Laser straight body and paint with perfect alignment and gaps. All original sheet metal trunk and floors. Deluxe black leather interior is all original and in MINT condition with full length floor mats to match original stainless/chrome and bright work in outstanding condition. Interior has Automatic Climate Control, Power Windows/Power Locks, Remote Mirror, Signal Seeking AM/FM Stereo Radio (along with an aftermarket Pioneer am/fm/cd player installed under the dash), Power Front Bench Seat, 3 Speed Wipers w/ Washer, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Tilt/Tele Steering, Carpeted Trunk w/ Full Size Spare & Jack. The exterior consists of Door Guards, Soft Ray Glass (all original and in outstanding condition), Padded Black Vinyl Top, Fender Skirts, Power Antenna. 429 C.I. Its long-awaited personal luxury car, the Fleetwood Eldorado was introduced and was like no Cadillac ever seen before. But then, neither were the "standard" Cadillac models. 1971 Cadillac Coupe DeVille, unmolested survivor, an absolute time capsule. 100% original right down to the paint. I am the second owner, the original owner was a porter at a Cadillac Dealership in Ohio. This car spent its whole life in his garage or inside the service department, and his attention to the car was impressive. The car looks at drives as new despite its 94,000 miles. The numerous pictures below tell the story. Exterior The car is furnished in its original code 44 Cypress Green paint. The right front fender has been repainted at some point, but the rest of the car appears to be the original paint with a depth meter showing factory-level thickness. All trim is present and in excellent shape. Chrome is beautiful. All lights work with no broken or hazed lenses. All glass perfect. The code J white vinyl roof is also perfect and amazingly has not been replaced. No signs of any rust or bubbling under the vinyl or below the rear window as was common on these cars (see pics). Wheel covers are virtually perfect. Tires are a year old with less than 1000 miles on them. New door weatherstripping installed this year. All other rubbers are in good condition. Interior Completely original interior in remarkable condition finished in code 331 Dark Jade Dubonaire Cloth. Driver's seat shows minor sun fading and there are a couple stains I've never tried to remove, but no rips or tears anywhere. Original carpet perfect with 4 original rubber mats. Dashboard and steering wheel are virtually perfect. Door panels and headliner are literally the nicest original items I've ever seen. Everything works except the clock including the full climate control system (A/C will freeze you out) and original radio (I haven't tried the 8-track). Windows (from all switches), locks, seat, gauges, courtesy lights, horn, wipers...it's all like new. Trunk Trunk is all original and dry. NO RUST! Original grease paper still under the rug. Original spare tire and tools are there as is all the original cardboard trim. Mechanical Original engine and transmission run and shift like brand new. I installed new plugs last week and tested compression with them out, north of 140 on every cylinder. Brand new all aluminum (no plastic tanks) radiator installed last month. New A/C compressor installed in May, still running R12. Both motor mounts are new. Muffler replaced in May. Suspension, steering, brakes all perform as a Cadillac should. Driving this car is like going back in time. Pictures below tell more of the story. If you like original survivor cars, this is the one for you. Why am I selling? I'm a Cadillac guy, and I've had this one long enough, time to let someone else enjoy it while I move on to another one. I enjoy the hell out of this car, its been my daily driver lately, but I always have a wandering eye. Car is sold as-is, where-is. Read the Vehicle Description and Ask Questions. I spend a lot of time creating my listings, and I make every effort to thoroughly, accurately and fairly describe the vehicles I offer. If you have a specific question or concern, or if I missed something, please feel free to ask. Please keep in mind that I sell pre-owned vehicles. As with any pre-owned vehicle, minor cosmetic flaws may be visible under close inspection. 1.2. Inspect the Vehicle. I encourage you to inspect the vehicle personally or through an inspection service prior to bidding. If you would like to inspect the vehicle, please call to make arrangements. Most of my vehicles are kept inside. 1.3. Be Aware That Vehicles Are Offered As Is/No Warranty Unless Stated. Unless otherwise stated in the vehicle description, the vehicle is being sold “as-is”, with no warranty. I try to accurately and fairly describe any known mechanical or cosmetic issues. However, as with any vehicle, mechanical or other failures may occur from time to time, and I cannot represent or warranty that they will not. You are responsible for any repairs made after the sale. 1.4. Mileage May Vary Slightly. I indicate the mileage of each vehicle at the time of listing. Please note that actual mileage may be slightly higher at the time of the end of the auction and/or delivery as the vehicle may be driven while the auction is underway. 2. Bidding on the Vehicle 2.1. Ready to Bid? If you’re ready to bid, great! Please keep in mind a few requirements and courtesies. Please intend to, and be ready & able to (financially and otherwise), complete the purchase of the vehicle within the timeframes set out herein. Participating just for sport without the intention to complete the transaction is unfair to me and to other users, and it wastes a lot of time and money. I may obtain the registered information of users participating in my auctions, and may filter or cancel any bids in my discretion. 2.2. I May End An Auction Early. "Buy it now" auctions may end at any time if the buy it now feature is exercised or a "best offer" is accepted. I seldom end "no reserve" auctions early. However, I reserve the right to end any auction without notice at any time for any reason in my sole discretion. 3. Completing the Transaction 3.1. Contact Me. If you are the winning bidder, congratulations! You must contact me within 24 hours of the end of the auction to make arrangements for the completion of the transaction. Many of my auctions end well after normal business hours, so sending me a message through eBay is generally the best way. 3.2. Pay a Deposit. You must also pay a non-refundable $500.00 deposit via PayPal within 24 hours after the end of the auction to secure the vehicle. 3.3. Pay the Balance Due. You must pay the remaining balance due (plus applicable fees and taxes – please see 3.5, below) within 3 days after the end of the auction. 3.4. Payment Methods. I accept wire transfers, cashier's checks, and cash in person (under $10,000 only). I accept PayPal for the payment of deposits only. All funds must be in US dollars. 3.5. Fees and Taxes. 3.5.1. Dealer Fee. I charge a $250 dealer fee, which will be added to all transactions. This includes winning bids, buy it now prices, and best offers accepted. I don't make exceptions for other licensed dealers. 3.5.2. Sales Tax. 3.5.2.1. Florida Buyers. I am required to collect sales tax at the rate applicable in your county at the time of sale. 3.5.2.2. Out-of-State Buyers. If you have the vehicle shipped to your location, I do not collect any sales tax; you will be responsible for paying your state's sales tax directly. If you come to Florida to pick up the vehicle at my location, I am required to collect either your state's sales tax, or Florida's 6%, whichever is less. Generally, you will receive a credit in your state for sales tax collected here. If I collect our 6% because your state's rate is higher, you will be charged the balance in your state. I always recommend you check with your local tag agency first; although the vast majority of states have a reciprocal sales tax agreement with Florida, a few do not. Some states also have specific forms or procedures that must be used for out-of-state purchases. 3.5.3. Tag & Title. 3.5.3.1. Florida Buyers. I am required to handle your tag and title work, and I collect an estimate of those costs at the time of sale, which range from $100 to $450 depending on your specific situation. If the actual cost of title and registration is less than the estimate, I will refund you the difference; if the actual cost is more that the estimate, you will be required to pay the difference before getting your tag and title. I do not make any money on tax, tag, registration and title fees I collect. 3.5.3.2. Out-of-State Buyers. I will provide you with the vehicle's title, and you will be responsible for handling the tag and title work in your state. 3.6. Exchange Documents and Signatures. There are, unfortunately, paperwork requirements for completing the transaction, which vary depending on whether you are from out-of-state or not. These will be discussed when you contact me initially. 3.7. If You Fail to Pay or Communicate with Me. I expect the transaction to go smoothly. However, if you fail to (i) make contact with me, (ii) pay the deposit, (iii) provide me with required signatures/documents, or (iv) pay the remaining balance (including applicable fees, taxes, and charges), within the timeframes set forth herein, I reserve the right to keep your deposit and re-list the vehicle or otherwise sell it as I see fit, without notice, in my sole discretion. I also reserve the right to report the issue to eBay in my sole discretion. 4. Take Delivery of Your New Vehicle 4.1. Shipping. It is frequently less expensive to have a vehicle shipped to your location than it is to fly in and drive it back, and certainly more hassle-free. I can assist you in finding a shipper and can get very competitive shipping quotes. You pay the shipper directly and are responsible for delivery arrangements. I assume no responsibility for damage to the vehicle incurred after it leaves my premises. Your vehicle will be available to ship out once full payment is received and has cleared; I send out titles once payment has cleared and all other paperwork requirements of the transaction are completed. 4.2. Pick Up. I am located at 2645 NE 9th Ave in Cape Coral, Florida. I am easily accessible from US 41 and from Interstate 75. If you plan to fly in, I will pick up at RSW - Southwest Florida Int’l Airport in Fort Myers (commercial) or FMY - Page Field in Fort Myers (private) or PGD - Charlotte County Airport (commercial & private) in Punta Gorda. This White 1997 CADILLAC DeVILLE is one of the CADILLAC'S that has the sporty DOHC 32V NORTHSTAR 4.6L V8 MPI engine. Known for their powerful 300 HP output. Yet it gets 17 MPG/26 MPG Town/Highway. One notable advertised feature is the "limp home" fail-safe mode which allows the engine to continue running for without coolant. Supplying fuel to only one cylinder bank in turn, the engine "air cools" the inactive bank. This, combined with its all-aluminum construction and large 8 qt. oil capacity, allows the engine to maintain safe temperatures, allowing a NORTHSTAR-equipped car to be driven with no coolant for 100 mi. without damage. White exterior with tan or off-white leather interior. Gently driven by my late mother. She was a non-smoking owner. The front brakes were just done when she bought it and the rear brakes were just done now. The tires are MICHELIN 225/60/16. The tires have 7-9 - 9/32" remaining tread with 10/32" being new.
