I have a 1973 Alfa Romeo GTV Project for sale. Engine turns free by hand. The trim and glass are in good condition. This car is 95% complete and the missing parts that I don't have are the rear seats, front grill, headlights, door parts, gas tank, center console, rear taillight lens and front bumper. The rust on the car is the lower rockers from what looks to be ground affects installed at one time that retained water and rusted the lower rocker. The other rust is the rear spare tire compartment. The trunk lid and hood have damage and the skins should be replaced. The rest of the body is nice and straight. The floors look solid. Someone smeared filler bellow the window posts ass seen in pictures so I don't know whats underneath. Cars condition is as pictured and the doors and hood are loose and will be secured in the cab for shipment. This vehicle is in Mesa, Arizona and it has a clean open Arizona title in my name. I will help load the car on transporter if needed. Car rolls on all four tires.This car is overall in good shap and as is would make a good track car or with the missing parts an easy restoration.

1974 Alfa Romeo GTV VIN # AR3024040 Up for sale is a beautiful Alfa Romeo GTV. The Alfa GTV is one of the most coveted, affordable Italian Sports cars. This GTV features the fuel injected 2000cc motor that has been well maintained and is very strong. This rust free Alfa has only had two owners since 1976. This Alfa Romeo is a great above average driver quality car that is ready to be enjoyed and will surely make its new owner happy. Click to enlarge This GTV is finished in factory correct Rosso Amaranto/Amaranth Red and looks stunning. The car has an older repaint that still shows very well with no major blemishes. As you can see from the pictures, the paint looks beautiful. All of the panel gaps line up as they should. This Alfa is very solid and retains its original floor pans and other metal. All of the glass is in great shape having no pitting or cracks. A brand new grill was installed in the last year. The rest of the chrome and bright work are in good condition, with no pitting or major blemishes. The exterior is completed with a set of Minilite style wheels with brand new Dunlop tires. Overall, the exterior of this GTV is in very good condition. The factory correct Natural Tex interior shows very well. The seats show little to no wear, are very supportive, and feel great to sit in. The carpet is in good condition. The door panels, rear panels, and kick panels show very little wear. The headliner appears to be original and does not have any tears, holes, or sagging. The dash wood is in very good shape and was replaced at the time of the interior overhaul. The dash features a factory am/fm radio that is not operational, as a modern Pioneer radio has been added inside the glove box and works as it should. The dashboard has a dash cap on it. All of the lights, gauges, and horn are in proper working order. The interior features rare and very desirable A/C system that blows cold. The interior is complete with a factory steering wheel that feels great in your hands. The interior of this car is in superb condition and is a great place to spend the weekend driving up your favorite twisty roads! Mechanically the car is very sound. The Alfa Romeo motor fires right up and runs like a top with no smoke on start up or while driving. The GTVs 2000cc engine has plenty of power to accelerate this lightweight car with ease and sounds amazing. The engine is mated to a 5 speed transmission that shifts smoothly through all the gears. This Alfa has been well maintained. The suspension and steering are tight and the ride is very nice. The brake pedal is firm and the car stops with ease. This is a great running and driving car that does not skip a beat. Overall, this car is mechanically sound and ready to be driven. The Alfa is an excellent weekend toy or daily driver. It was original assigned a high performance, Tipo 1308 "1900cSS" engine with individual engine No. 01506. yes, but Alfa Romeo (and I) would prefer this not to be disclosed to discourage claims of “we found the original engine” and then re-stamping one) This was replaced early in the vehicle's life with another Tipo 1308 engine (and not a fortunately not one from a 2000) with individual engine No. 01506 No, as you state on the spec. 1308*10311*, The original exterior color was "Grigio Azzurro" which translates directly to Grey-Blue. The Alfa Romeo Factory Assembly Records for this vehicle indicate it was completed and ready for shipping on November 7th, 1955. The original order had been placed on speculation by the Marino, Rome, Italy Concessionaire. The vehicle remained with them only a short time when it was sold on February 20th, 1956 to an unknown Rome resident. (Great, I did not know when it was sold, but it could be the date of when it went to the concessionaires, unless you have more definitely) Little information is known about this vehicle's early life until it was recorded by the Alfa Romeo Owner's Club being for sale in the States in the late 1980s. At that time it was described as still being Grey Blue with two-tone Burgundy body work and a light colored interior. The car was purchased in Rome in the late 1950s by an American Air Force Officer who arranged for shipping and delivery to the States after his tour of duty ended. In 1994 it was recorded being owned by USA resident Steve Wooten. His ownership ended in January of 1998 when it was sold by the Barrett Jackson Auction House at their annual Scottsdale, Arizona sale at which time it had been restored and now featured traditional all red exterior paint and a tan interior. The new owner was an English dealer who consigned the vehicle that Fall to the November 30, 1998, Christies London, King Street Auction. (Lot No. 65 / Sale 6000) where it was sold and purchased by a private Japanese Museum collection. The new owners then imported the car into Japan were it was road registered and further prepared for historic tours and rallies at which it has actively competed for more than fifteen years. Our purchase of this Alfa took nearly a year to complete but was well worth the effort and wait it took to acquire it. We have had several of these over the years and as such have gained a vast knowledge of their unique natures. We were aware that the original engine had been replaced by another of the same specification, possibly done under warranty when the vehicle was new or near new given the individual engine No. The rare Tipo 1308/1356 specific parts that make up these vehicles were still fitted including the unique 5-speed gearbox and special rear axle assembly. The Tipo 1356 front and rear brakes were also present. These are massive affairs well up to the task of controlling the vehicle. The front use “Turbine” finning that sits inboard slightly and when in motion they pump air across them. The rears have six cooling fins on each drum assembly that likewise aids in keeping everything cool. The original unique larger fuel tank and special front and rear suspension components are all correct and original. A close inspection of the vehicles original panels and trim confirms that they are all original and correct to the vehicle. A variety of different components are stamped in many places with the two digit number “37” which is the last two digits of the Touring Body / Job No. “4537.” Sample photos of these are shown above. Immediately after arrival a careful and thorough inspection was completed and engine compression checked. Each cylinder is perfect and even with no smoke or noises. The compression test results are as follows: Cyl. Pounds Per Square Inch 1 170 2 165 3 165 4 165 The original lightweight decorative bumpers and mounting hardware as shown in the photos above is included with the sale of this vehicle. This Alfa Romeo has been fully restored, serviced, sorted and prepared for historic events, world-wide. The vehicle is completely without rust or signs of accident damage anywhere and it is freshly prepared and ready for any manner of immediate enthusiastic use. This stunning 3 owner San Francisco owned GTV was first sold on January 14, 1976 by Europa Cars on Van Ness in San Francisco California. The car was under the care of the first owner in San Francisco until 1992 where the second owner, a resident of San Francisco as well, bought the car on May 12, 1992 and kept it until selling the car to the third and final owner sometime in 2006/2007. The car is accompanied with an exceptional amount of documentation and service history dating back to brand new and documents the mileage on the car as 60,240. This GTV’s paint finish is absolutely beautiful, the paint retains and deep luster and shine. The car had a full tear down and repaint sometime when the third owner took possession of the car. The trim is in excellent condition and all of the chrome looks like it could have been done some years ago but still retaining a very nice shine with few flaws. All of the seals look to be in good condition showing minimal age. The interior is in excellent condition. There are no rips, tears or any stains on the any of the carpets or vinyl anywhere. The dashboard does not have any cracks or damage and the wood is all in excellent condition. The engine starts right up and does not smoke under start up or acceleration. It runs and drives beautifully and revs freely and through all of the gears with ease. The engine pulls incredibly strong and smooth and the transmission is butter to shift through all of the gears. There are no issues with grinding or slipping in the clutch or the transmission. The brakes feel excellent and solid and free from any fade or grinding. The steering is nice and tight as is the suspension. All of the electronics in the car appear to be operating as designed. The headlights (including the yellow fog lights) all work as well as the brake lights, side marker lights, reverse lights, taillights, interior lights, dash lights, courtesy lights and turn signals are all functioning. The tires have excellent tread life on them with at least 80% left. The engine is a matching numbers engine and there appears to be no modifications done to the engine or performance of the car. This is truly an exceptional example that has been well cared for its entire life as evident in the condition of the car and by all of the documentation and service history accompanying. It does not have any dents. Every panel lines up great and all of the doors, hood and trunk all open and shut with ease and have a solid feel. I have not found any accident damage on this car and the car does have a clean car fax and the mileage is verified on the car fax as well. This is a completely rust free car. The car really has a great look with its beautiful Pinninfarina body and gorgeous 5 spoke alloy wheels. This car just has that iconic Italian Spider look that still grabs everyones attention 31 years later. Whether you are at 750rpm or 6,000 rpm the car runs incredibly smooth. This car, and my Ferrari mechanic will agree, pulls very strong for an Alfa and is quite impressive. This Spider also has excellent throttle response and great power. The engine has very strong oil pressure as well and stays nice and cool in Arizonas hot and dry climate. The clutch feels great and is not exhibiting any slipping whatsoever. The gear change is so nice and smooth on this car, the gear lever moves with ease and has a great feel. The 4 wheel disc brakes stop the car incredibly well and have a great solid feel. The car tracks down the road straight as an arrow and feels solid driving down the road. 1982 Alfa Romeo GTV6, California car, second owner. I have owned this car for 22 years, and it has been the best car I have ever owned. It was a second, weekend driver. I bought it from the original owner in 1992 in Cupertino. One of the best Bay Area Alfa shops, Richard Oliver at Continental Motors took it out of storage and suggested to me that these cars were far, far higher in front ride height than they were designed for, to meet Federal minimum bumper height laws. The best thing I did was have it lowered back to its original European ride height which is about 4" lower. I then added Koni gas shocks, and it drove beautifully. The ZF steering box and torsion bar suspension is fabulous for twisty roads, and the faster you go on the freeway the more downforce there is on the front end, the way it was supposed to be. Without lowering these cars float like hell at speed and hobby horse under braking. The GTV6s were so underpowered very few of them sold. They cost more than a 911 SC when new, and wouldn't get out of their own way. Similar to the Acura NSX, they were just helpless. Again, Richard Oliver suggested porting the heads and installing S cams from Alfa. 1.5K later and a shoe box of aluminum from the exhaust ports the car was totally different. All of a sudden it pulled hard from 3300 to red line and with the Autostrada final drive ration would pull 95 easily in third gear, a real crowd pleaser here in Freewaylandia. It runs at 80-90 around 3300, and is very quiet. Alfa designed these as fast comfortable cars for road trips, the Autostrada and the Autobahn, where running at 110 is normal. This car was geared for that at 3:90 but lacked the power to run at speed easily. It does that now, and then some. It does not have the torque of a 3.0, but I did make several runs at getting one. The key word here is comfortable. Alfa managed to find front seats that were not only horrendous, but dangerously slippery. I actually almost fell out of it one day leaning on the drivers door in a turn. Those seats went into a dumpster behind Apple HQ, and I installed two fantastic seats from a Mitsubishi Starion, with full clam shells, thigh supports, and adjustable head rests. Now the car is superbly comfortable on the five hour run from LA to SF on the Gestapo infested 5. Here is condition: Daily driver condition, small dings and scratches. Painted 10 years ago, with Mercedes Silver paint. Two small rust bubble areas, normal even in California. Never been hit or pranged, no undercarriage rust. Driveline has been carefully maintained, good guibos, good clutch, good transmission, rear end. Brakes 60%, fairly recent water pump and timing belt, valves checked, 85% Bridgestone tires, needs drivers' side mirror, headlight switch. This car will humiliate any stock GTV6, and out handle any of them that have not been set up this way. It is currently registered in Arizona, the land of the wrinkled Nazi, but it will smog in CA. Runs and drives great. Needs minor body work, a nice paint job, and someone who wants to drive something unique, reliable, fast, and fun. It still looks nice, the wheels are all original and un molested and it gets the tourists back on the sidewalk. Save 4K and a lot of time getting a stock one right. Buy this one.

Overview Our full cosmetic and mechanical restoration process is currently being finalized, and the end result will be simply stunning. Detailed information about what this process entails can be found on our web site. This car includes the upgraded Ferrari leather interior, which includes seats, dash, door panel and other surfaces covered in high-end, supple, hand stitched leather. The material is sourced from the same vendor that supplies leather to Ferrari and Bentley. In keeping with the original theme, vintage premium German loop carpets are retained. Our in house design team chose the premium burgundy to complement the exquisite silver exterior. This is a tremendous upgrade from the original tan, which frankly found little favor among our designers. This combination makes for one of the most elegant and traditional complementary colors this side of Fiorano. Cosmetic Impressions Exterior paint work is exceptional, finished to a higher-end standard than our typical base model. Absolutely first rate, with no imperfections. Undercarriage is also what you would expect from one of our finished Basso models. Clean and tidy. Very nice overall. We can't say enough about our leather interior upgrades. Hand crafted by true artisans, these interiors have no equal. All key surfaces are covered by hand with premum leather. Each component is cut from matching hydes. No color match issues. Workmanship in same class as Ferrari-Maserati. Bellissimo. Mechanical and Driving Impressions It is a joy to drive a fully sorted classic Italian convertible. Panel fitment is better than when the car came out of the factory. Engine, transmission and suspension are crisp and tight. Factory air conditoning system is included, and blows cold. This car includes the upgraded Ferrari leather interior, which includes seats, dash, door panel and other surfaces covered in high-end, supple, hand stitched leather. The material is sourced from the same vendor that supplies leather to Ferrari and Bentley. In keeping with the original theme, vintage premium German loop carpets are retained. Our in house design team chose the premium burgundy to complement the exquisite silver exterior. This is a tremendous upgrade from the original tan, which frankly found little favor among our designers. Hand crafted by true artisans, these interiors have no equal. All key surfaces are covered by hand with premum leather. Each component is cut from matching hydes. No color match issues. Workmanship in same class as Ferrari-Maserati. Bellissimo. Mechanical and Driving Impressions It is a joy to drive a fully sorted classic Italian convertible. Panel fitment is better than when the car came out of the factory. Engine, transmission and suspension are crisp and tight. Factory air conditoning system is included, and blows cold. Firstly, our Spider restorations typically fall into two categories.
