The styling of the GTV penned by Giorgetto Giugiaro is distinctive with its fastback, angular shape. The venerable twin-cam 2.0L 4-cylinder was a good match for the chassis, and the rear transaxle is what gives these cars their impressive weight distribution. This car was one of 72,039 produced with the 1962cc twin overhead cam, all alloy four-cylinder hemi head engine fed by a Spica fuel injection coupled to a five-speed transaxle. It provides 130 horsepower and is capable of a top speed of 118 mph. It weighs 2423 pounds and sold for approximately $8000 in 1976. This 1976 Alfa Romeo Alfetta GT is an original example and has only 36,425 miles. It is equipped with its original 2.0 liter engine and 5 speed transaxle. It has been to numerous Concours events, winning in its last outing in 2010 at the New Hope Auto Show outside Philadelphia, with then owner and Alfa purist Bill Conway. It is driven to all events and still cruises comfortably at speeds of 80-90 mph having been completely serviced. The styling of the GTV, while distinctive (designed by Bertone), shares many design features derived from the Montreal supercar.
