I BOUGHT THIS TWO OWNER CAR RECENTLY FOR MY DAUGHTER'S FIRST CAR. MY WIFE IS NOW INSISTING ON A CAR WITH AIRBAGS SO THE SPIRIT NEEDS A NEW OWNER. THIS CAR IS REALLY NICE, SOLID, NO ACCIDENTS, NO RUST, NO CRACKS IN ANY WINDOWS, ICE COLD A/C, RUNS AND DRIVES VERY NICELY. THE ONLY MECHANICAL ISSUE IS THE VALVE COVER GASKET IS LEAKING (NEW GASKET AND VALVE COVER INCLUDED). THE PASSENGER SEAT RECLINE MECHANISM IS SHOT, AND THE INTERIOR HAS A COUPLE OF PARTS NEEDING TO BE REPLACED (ALSO INCLUDED). I HAVE PURCHASED A BUNCH OF NEW PARTS FOR THE CAR (NEW UNDERHOOD INSULATION WITH MOUNTING CLIPS, NEW AMBER FRONT TURN SIGNALS, MARKER LIGHTS, INTERIOR PARTS, AN EXTRA GRILL, MORE) WHICH ARE INCLUDED. I AM ALSO INCLUDING A SET OF AMC ALUMINUM MAG WHEELS WITH CENTER CAPS, SHOULD YOU WANT TO JAZZ IT UP A BIT. THE TIRES ON IT ARE GOODYEAR ASSURANCE, ALMOST NEW. THE CAR WAS REPAINTED AT SOME POINT AND IT LOOKS GREAT. THE CAR IS DRY INSIDE AND THERE ARE NO FUNKY SMELLS. THE ENGINE DOESN'T SMOKE OR COUGH, NO TAPPING EITHER, REALLY STRONG. THESE ARE HARD TO FIND IN THIS CONDITION, AND GETTING MORE SCARCE EVERY DAY. THE CAR MAY BE PICKED UP IN HARRISONBURG, VA. OTHER ARRANGEMENTS CAN BE DISCUSSED. PLEASE EMAIL STEVE WITH ANY QUESTIONS OR IF YOU NEED PICTURES OF ANYTHING I MISSED. THANKS, HAVE A GREAT DAY!

This HARD TO FIND (only one on eBay when I listed) AMERICAN MOTORS COMPANY 1982 SPIRIT I got it last year with the desire to fully restore it but my newborn daughter was born with Biliary Atresia (Liver Disease) and I need to sell it among other items in an attempt to pay Medical Bills. The Spirit is Partially Restored and in pretty good shape . I was told by previous owner it had sat unused for many many years in grandfathers garage. The rubber hoses under the hood were replaced last year by previous owner. Runs and drives. Passed Safety and Emissions Testing in Utah in June 2013 and was being used for daily commute by previous owner. From my personal driving experience I believe the brakes should be bled. Able to stop ok but I feel like they could be better. Then again my daily commute vehicle is a 2013 Elantra with Advanced Anti-Lock Brakes so could just be the way they are and I'm used to newer braking systems. You be the judge. Has some rust but by no means a rust bucket. Also has some minor dings/dents. See pics I included as many as eBay would allow (24). The two back tires are near new. The front tires are worn. As you can see the Hub Caps are aftermarket. Heater \ AC needs work. Odometer shows 73809 Miles I was told the mileage is original but make no guarantee as I'm not original owner. The AM/FM Radio is missing and dash has issues (See PICS) Passenger side Sun Visor is missing.AMC Coupes, Sedans, and Wagons, 1975-88 Chilton's Total Car Care Repair Manual included in trunk with spare tire. All in All its a Running Vintage Hard to find AMC Classic. Buy it NOW before someone else does! Asking $3000 AS IS \ Or Best OfferPlease email me with any questions.

1970 AMC REBEL MACHINE RED, WHITE, AND BLUE!!!!!!!!!! The following is an article done by musclecars.howstuffworks.com on the Rebel Machine. This article does not feature this car, but does give a nice description of these unique cars. The 1970 AMC Rebel Machine took American Motors into themidsize muscle car field. It wasn't the quiet entry it might have been. As evidence, there exists in the AMC archives a photo of a different, more sinister-looking midsize muscle proposal. The photo is of a black coupe with authoritative black wheels and fattires. No stripes, no scoops, no spoilers. Its body rakes forward in an aggressive, street-fighting stance. On the fender is a decal. It shows two gears chewing out the name of this macho prototype: "The Machine."Muscle Car Image GalleryThe photo is dated June 1968, and the car is a '69 Rebel. AMC's high-performance sedan efforts for '69 were focussed on the Rogue-based Hurst SC/Rambler, a brashly decorated compact as overstated as the black Rebel concept was understated. The SC/Rambler didn't survive into '70, but The Machine did. It was not, however, the malevolent rebel promised by the prototype, but a red, white, and blue jukebox of a car, clearly in the spirit of the SC/Rambler. "You have to say this for American Motors," observed Road Test magazine, "when they get their teeth into an idea they pursue it with a vengeance."©2007 Publications International, Ltd. The Machine's 390-cid four-barrel made 340 bhp and breathed through a Ram Air system that employed a vacuum-controlled hood-scoop flap.Luckily, The Machine was a pretty good performer. Like the SC/Scrambler, it used the AMX's ram-air 390-cid V-8, newly souped to 340 bhp. In its journey from concept to reality, The Machine gained a big hood scoop that served the engine via a vacuum-controlled butterfly valve. A Hurst-shifted four-speed was mandatory and came with a 3.54:1 axle. AMC's limited-slip diff was a $43 option, with a genuine DetroitLocker and ratios up to 5.00:1 available.©2007 Publications International, Ltd. A Hurst-shifted four-speed was standard. Note the tachometer integrated into the raised fairing on the hood scoop. The Machine was one of Detroit's most stiffly sprung muscle cars. Its extra-heavy-duty suspensionincluded firm station wagon rear springs, which elevated the tail and helped account for the raked look. With E60x15 tires, cornering ability was top-notch, but rear-axle juddering off the line prevented the willing, lightweight V-8 from propelling the car into the low-14-second range. The Machine turned out to be a one-year-only model, and after building the first 1,000 or so, AMC began offering it sans stripes and in any color. It still wasn't the menacing machine of that '69 photo, but buyers could at least get the steak without quite so much sizzle.Return to Classic Muscle Cars Library. For more cool information on muscle cars, check out:Even AMC, the champion of the economy car, caught muscle car fever. Jeep is expanding its product line, and in coming years it may include pickup trucks, crossover SUVs and youthful small sedans that drive like rally cars. Strictly speaking, this is not a new adventure for Jeep, which has offered a line of pickups (Gladiator) utility vehicles (Willys Station Wagons) and AWD cars (AMC Eagle) in the past. But in the new 2006 Commander, Jeep offers a capability no Jeep has had before: three-row seating and the ability to carry seven passengers. Equipped with a higher level of safety and security features than any previous Jeep, the Commander represents the first salvo in Jeep's upcoming product offensive. Jeep tells us the Commander has the highest level of safety and security ever offered on a Chrysler Group vehicle. ABS braking is complimented with electronic stability control (ESP) to enhance driver control. Brake Assist, a system that actively applies maximum braking in panic situations, works to provide the shortest possible stopping distances

Year 1970 Mileage 87450Make MERCURY Exterior Color RED/WHITEModel CYCLONE GT Interior Color REDPrice $34995.00 Engine 429 CIBody Style 2 Door Transmission AutomaticDoors 2 Drivetrain RWDThis 1970 Mercury Cyclone GT was purchased Bran New by CLAY WOOD of the WOOD BROTHERS RACING TEAM. It was bought at their Lincoln Mercury Dealership in Danville VA. We have a copy of the Original Title with Clay Wood as the owner and the Marti Report which shows all the original particulars of this car. This was a factory 351 V8 car that was replaced with a period correct 429 ci V8 engine.*** The name \"Wood Brothers racing\" may not ring as many bells as those of Richard Petty, Roger Penske or Dale Earnhardt, but race fans in the know will recognize the \"Number 21\" and the stunning red-and-white livery adorning this fearsome Cyclone.Customizers and James Dean made the 1949-1951 Merc a lasting symbol American car culture, and Mercury arguably helped lay the groundwork for the muscle car era with the potent, little-known 430-powered 400M Super Marauder of 1958, which duked it out on the streets with luminaries such as the Chrysler 300D and 348-6V Impala. By the time the Sixties rolled around, 406 Marauders, 390 Cyclones and 428 Cobra Jet Cougars carried the banner forward. And Mercury\'s Cyclone, restyled for 1968 on the Montego body, would make its mark in competition with legends like Dan Gurney, Cale Yarborough--and the Wood Brothers team--manning the wheel. So let\'s review what this Cyclone brings to the party: Originally a 351 car, the gunsight-grilled \'70 now boasts an era-correct 429 between those shapely front fenders, backed up the beefy C-6 automatic with console shift and a rugged nine-inch Ford rear axle. The car wears Cyclone Spoiler nomenclature, complementing the famed golden \"21\" of the Wood Bros\". team, and the red interior is in excellent overall shape. A set of modern white-letter radials round out the exterior. The 385-series big block rumbles convincingly with a twist of the key, signaling its readiness to hunt Hemis and 454s, and there\'s no mistaking those trademark peaked Ford valve covers. Mileage shows at ____, and the body is ______.When you combine the markings of a renowned Ford racing outfit with the relative rarity of a Cyclone, you can be certain that you won\'t see yourself coming and going at every cruise-in and car show. \"The Big M\" may have joined Plymouth, Olds, Pontiac, AMC and DeSoto in the annals of orphan brands, but when you\'re sporting this Muscle Merc, the spirit of the fender-scraping, free-wheeling glory days of Daytona, Darlington and Alabama International will surely live on.Don\'t miss out--the cars that go fast tend to \"go fast!\" Call TNT today!!Optional Accessories: Bucket Seats,Dual Exhaust,Vinyl, Ad provided by OldCarOnline.com/cond>
