This V8 Coupe still wears its original CA Blue plate and has just recently come out of a long time storage showing only 30,700 original miles. The car was driven until 1983 when it was put into storage in Southern CA. The car had been started off and on to keep the car moving but after resurfacing in the last two years an extensive amount of work has gone into making this car roadworthy again. The transmission was rebuilt, the fuel tank was just removed and treated, the carbs taken apart and rebuilt, all of the fuel lines replaced, a new fuel pump, new belts and hoses, new plugs and wires, new cap and rotor, and all fresh fluids, a new battery, new exhaust, brand new Michelin XVS tires, brand new door and window seals on both driver and passenger doors, front and rear bumpers freshly chromed and a thorough wet sand, buff and wax has just been done to the paint to bring it back to life. The build sheet on the car shows that this V8 left the Newport Pagnell factory in Tudor Green Metallic over Natural leather interior and verifies that this car is a matching numbers engine. All of the chassis numbers match and are present including the rockers with the chassis number stamped on them. The Tudor Green Metallic paint is partly original and part older repaint. The car shows remarkably well for its age with some checking in the paint on the roof and some starting on the trunk and passenger side rear quarter. There are some small chips here and there on the paint and some small scratches but the overall presentation of the paint shows very well; there is still a beautiful deep luster and shine. The body of the car is beautiful, aside from some small dings here and there, the body is free from any damage or bondo or any rust of any kind. The undercarriage of the car is incredibly original and very tidy. There are no signs of any previous accident damage or any unusual repairs. The interior is stunning and all original from top to bottom. The leather shows beautiful patina and very little wear. There is no damage to the leather, only slight creasing. The original carpets are in excellent condition except for one small heel mark on the driver side rug. The dash and door panels are in excellent original condition, free from any shrinkage or wear. All of the electrical equipment appears to be functioning as designed including all of the exterior and interior lights, the turn signals, brake lights, side marker lights, headlights, license plate lights and the engine hood light. All of the gauges are reading correctly except for the gas gauge which sometimes reads and sometimes does not. All of the interior lights are working including the dash lights, all of the gauge lights and the center console and lower console lights, the courtesy lights and the glove box light. The engine starts right up and idles very well, the engine pulls very strong once warmed up and shifts through all of the gears with ease. The transmission shifts into gear with ease and pulls through all of the gears without hesitation. The suspension feels nice and tight and free from any clunking or noises. The steering is nice and tight and free from any drifting or play. This Aston Martin V8 has been well cared for and seen the proper storage its entire life. It runs and drives very well and shows beautiful patina throughout. Accompanying the sale of this car is the original jack and spare and the original Aston Martin owners handbook . However, it is very important to keep in mind that these vehicles are pre-owned, not brand new. After careful reading of the entire description, rather than making a potentially incorrect assumption, if any statement or comment is unclear, or if you have questions, please e-mail or call us prior to bidding. - We are a licensed and bonded automotive dealership based in Scottsdale, Arizona. Buying through a licensed dealer gives you as a consumer certain rights, and ensures your protection from title fraud and other problems encountered in private party automotive transactions. In addition, you may also qualify for lower interest rates by purchasing through a dealership. We reserve the right to sell this vehicle locally prior to the end of any advertisement or listing. We also reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason. - Cars are demonstrated and/or test-driven on a daily basis and therefore may have more mileage upon delivery than indicated in original listings. - All transactions are subject to a Document/Preparation fee of $299. Arizona residents will be responsible for 8.95% sales tax, and vehicle registration costs. Non-Arizona residents wishing to pick up their vehicle from our dealership in Phoenix will be responsible for paying sales tax in Arizona. Tax will not be charged if the vehicle is shipped out of state. Any out-of-state residents wishing to drive their new vehicle prior to registering it in their home states will be provided a 90-day non-resident temporary permit. All taxes and license fees will need to be paid by the buyer when the vehicle is registered in their home state. All state taxes and motor vehicle-related fees are administered by each state individually, are not included in the price of the vehicle, and are non-negotiable. - Most vehicle titles are not held on the premises and it may take up to 30 days to receive one. - Due to the fact that we often have multiple prospective buyers for the same vehicle, we will not "hold" a vehicle without a signed non-refundable deposit, a signed purchase order, and a signed General Information and Terms of Sale form. Without this deposit, all vehicles will remain advertised, listed, and available for sale. - Although we make every attempt to deliver our vehicles with a full set of keys, key fobs, books, floor mats, manuals, etc., we cannot guarantee that a pre-owned vehicle will have all of these items. Most of them can be ordered at a minimum cost in addition to the price of the vehicle, if you desire to do so. The substantial reduction in price between new and pre-owned vehicles reflects in part the chance that these items might be missing. At Close of Auction The successful "winning" bidder must telephone us within 24 hours after the auction has ended to verify purchase and make arrangements to complete the transaction. Full payment must be received within 7 business days of the end of auction. Payment must be either by cashiers-check, or certified funds. If funds are not received, and an alternate arrangement has not been made, the vehicle can and will be made available to other potential buyers on a first-come, first-serve basis. The parties agree that this contract shall be construed under the substantive laws of the state of Arizona, that the state courts of Arizona shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any action brought to enforce the terms of this contract or over any action arising out of the underlying transaction(s) with seller and venue may be had in the Maricopa county superior court of the state of Arizona. Our Guarantee We have disclosed as much information as possible about this vehicle and aim to only carry quality vehicles. However, we recommend that all buyers conduct an inspection either in person or through a qualified professional third party inspector prior to the end of the auction. If such inspection reveals a substantial discrepancy between the information contained in the listing and the actual vehicle, we will correct the problem at no charge or work out a compromise. As a value added service we will assist with shipping arrangements however, the buyer pays all shipping costs. A step away from the XKE from the 1960's, the XJ-S was introduced as a high performance luxury 4 place Grand Touring Coupe' to compete with the Aston Martin V8 Coupe', the Mercedes-Benz SL and the Porsche 928. Introduced in the 70's and carried on through the 80's and 90’s, the XJ-S carried Jaguar's prestigious V12 engine at the front, right up to the much anticipated launch of the official in house convertible. The XJS Convertible was an instant success and added a traditional open air motoring pleasure to the XJS lineup. The V-12 was just the right balance of power and agility with ultra rare smoothness only seen on the highest level of automobiles. The XJS continued on to be one of Jaguar’s longest lived and successful models and has become an instant classic. European Motor Studio is proud to offer this gorgeous 1996 Jaguar XJS Celebration Edition Convertible finished in a rare color combination of Black over Warm Charcoal hides and a Black canvas top. This Celebration Edition XJS left the Coventry Browns factory in August of 1995 and was then invoiced to Jaguar Cars North America. The car was then sent to Jaguar in Massachusetts where it was leased by its first owner on September 15, 1996. The first owner bought the car out of the lease in April of 2000 and then sold the car to the second owner in June of 2001 when the second owner took the car to Los Angeles California where it has been ever since. This XJS is the Celebration Edition which marks the end of a long run of very traditional Jaguar’s GT cars. 1996 was the final year for the XJS and some say the very end of an era. The Celebration Edition XJS was fitted with contrasting piping on the leather upholstery with Jaguar leapers embossed in the headrests, a wood and leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob and Diamond turned slotted Aerosport wheels. This XJS has a beautiful Black paint finish and free from any sun fade or clear coat peeling. There are no major scratches and no damage to the body anywhere. The car is free from any rust or corrosion and any signs of accident damage. There are only a few tiny stone chips in the front nose and one hairline crack in the lower portion of the front skirt which is hardly noticeable. All of the exterior chrome and trim is in excellent condition showing very minimal age and the car has a brand new set of tires on all four corners. The original Jaguar chrome wheels are in excellent condition and unmarked. The original Warm Charcoal leather interior still shows beautifully with excellent patina and very light creasing on the front seats. The back seats show no wear whatsoever (there are two spots on the back of the rear headrests where the convertible top comes down that have tears). The switch gear and the interior chrome and trim all look to be in excellent condition with minimal wear. The convertible top is in excellent condition and shows no signs of wear on either the top or the headliner. All of the mechanicals are in excellent condition, the car starts right up and idles incredibly smooth and quiet. This XJS does not smoke or leak and is silky smooth under acceleration. The transmission shifts through all of the gears with ease and does not grind or clunk. The brakes feel excellent and solid and do not show any signs of fade or grinding. The suspension both front and rear is in excellent condition and is very smooth and tight free from any noises or thumping. The steering is very solid and tight and does not drift or pull to any side. All of the electronics in the car are working properly, the interior lights, all of the exterior lights, dash lights, AC, heater, power windows, power door locks, windshield wipers, driver and passenger seats, original Jaguar remote, convertible top and rear windows are all functioning as designed. The original Jaguar Alpine sound system is still in the car and operating as designed along with the original Jaguar power antenna. The car comes with its original leather convertible top boot with its original bag, Jaguar spare tire and original jack in its original bag and the original drivers handbook.
