Factory overdrive, dry Texas car, previous long term ownership, show quality repaint, new tires, polished stainless steel exhaust, roll-up windows, new top, over $38,000 invested recently, copious maintenance records.THE VEHICLE OFFEREDThis Big Healey is a great example of one of the 5,450 MkII BJ7 models produced. Fitted with the desirable factory overdrive, it is a very solid, dry Texas car recently out of the collection of its knowledgable long-term owner who not only loved this car but also kept copious maintenance records documenting his fastidious care over the years. Its body is incredible, with original factory paint in the engine compartment, its chassis and undercarriage, and the car benefits from a fresh, proper rebuild of its original engine, transmission, factory overdrive unit, and the complete fuel, braking and clutch systems by the appropriate specialists. The car has also recently benefited from a show-quality repaint in its original and stunning Colorado Red color, new tires on restored correct painted wire wheels, a polished stainless steel Tourist Trophy exhaust and full service; the vehicle performs as good as it looks. In total there are over $40,000 of receipts for recent work, along with a comprehensive file from its previous owner. It is a car that has been made to drive not be rolled in and out of trailers. These Big Healeys are incredibly fun and iconic British sports cars that, when equipped with overdrive and fully sorted as this car is, are wonderful high-speed touring machines. These later BJ7 models have tolerable weather protection with roll up windows and snug fitting tops, confidence inspiring disc brakes and very capable handling along with an exhaust note to die for. Parts are readily available and inexpensive, and the club support is phenomenal. All things considered there is no question why all the experts consider a proper Big Healey to offer tremendous value in today’s market. Beyond that, this car in particular is an outstanding example which also offers the benefit of a recent, no-expense spared thorough restoration and is in truly turn-key condition. It offers the driving experience these cars are famous for, with none of the deferred maintenance problems that arise when they don’t come from good, caring homes.HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE Introduced in March 1961 as the BN7 Mark II (2-seat) and BT7 Mark II (2+2), the 3000 Mark II series came with three SU HS4 carburettors and an improved camshaft. However, the triple SUs proved difficult to balance and were replaced with two SU HS6 upon the introduction of the BJ7 (2+2) model in January 1962. With its debut the BN7 Mark II was discontinued in March 1962, and the BT7 Mark II in June 1962.Other changes included a vertical barred front grille, wind-up windows instead of side curtains, an improved hood, and a wrap-around windscreen. Optional extras were similar to the Mark I, although the factory hardtop option was dropped with the BJ7’s introduction. From August 1961 a brake servo was also available as an optional extra, which greatly improved braking performance. The BJ7 was discontinued in October 1963 with the introduction of the 3000 Mark III.A 3000 Mark II BT7 with hardtop and overdrive tested by the British magazine The Motor in 1961 had a top speed of 112.9 mph (181.7 km/h) and could accelerate from 0–60 mph (97 km/h) in 10.9 seconds.A total of 11,564 were made: 355 BN7 Mark II, 5,096 BT7 Mark II, and 6,113 BJ7. A Swiss motoring publication (Auto-Jahr) had had a competition to redesign the 3000 as a closed roof grand tourer, and the winning design was executed by Pininfarina just in time for the October 1962 Earls Court Show.Click here for additional photographs.Click here for a walk around video.Call Max. 208-720-8854Visit www.modernclassicautos.com for dealer information. For serious buyers, I invite you to come see the car and reconcile on your own, as it's virtually impossible to accurately/objectively represent cars of this age. Please feel free to inspect the car before you purchase -- reach out to me and we can exchange contacts. I'm not a Healey expert, but own MGs, Triumphs, Datsuns and Lotuses. I believe this car could be used as a great platform for a top-flight restoration or driven as is for years with just a little TLC. Car will be sold with transferable clear NJ title. I can help w/ shipping in that I can be here when your shipper arrives. No warranty of any type. Paypal fine if we split the fee. Thanks much for looking and good luck.

1960 Austin Healey Series 1. This is a very solid, reliable driver level car. This Healey is rust free, having had the front floor pans previously replaced. The paint shows very well and is one of the most attractive color combinations of ice blue over cream. This car has been driven and I would describe the condition of the paint as very nice, driver quality. Given that the car has been used, it is not perfect. Mechanically, the car is very solid. Starts right up with no drama and runs well. It's equipped with a 4 speed gearbox that has overdrive. The top is in nice shape however the side curtains are original and the Plexiglas is a bit cloudy. The interior is tired. It could use carpets along with new front seat covers. Both are available on ebay at a reasonable price. A local viewing is welcome and encouraged with appointment. We are happy to help buyers worldwide with shipping and freight logistics.

My 1967 Healey 3000 MK III pictures talk more than I can describe. Please feel free to ask any questionsThis is what my mechanic had to say about the car. Georgeous 1967 Austin Healey 3000 MKIII for sale. This is a wonderful car, bought not too long ago by my customer. Her whole life changed and she decided to sell the car before she really could enjoy it.Before the winter we were asked to go through the car and do whatever was needed to make her work properly. We assessed the car, went though everything we could without taking the car apart, and a couple of month ago we delivered the car in almost perfect condition. She has done only a handful miles since we delivered her. The odometer reads 99.791 miles. The car is what I would call a Moss Special restoration. It looks really really nice, even from up close. The interior is new, and the paint looks new and fresh too. No signs of over spray, or sloppy taping. I think the car was stripped properly before the body was taken care of.All the gauges work properly, and most look new. The top does not fit 100%, a small gap on the passengers side above the door.Chrome is very good. I doubt the bumpers are original, again I assume they come from a company that makes replica bumpers. The engine is wonderful. The engine bay is clean, and shows that the harness has been replaced (under the dash, the wiring looks perfect and new as well)We cleaned the carbs and synchronised them. The car stats fairly easy, most of the times ( this was during the winter) the third time we turned the key she would fire. She is a little unhappy until she reaches 160 degrees F. From then on she is running very smooth.Only thing else we did to the car was an oil change (Valvoline VR1)We did a leak down test, and the rings show wear, but as I told my customer, not to the point there is a concern at all. I told her, if you are nice to her, it will last another 30,000 miles. The engine does NOT smoke. When warmed up the engine certainly doesn't pull less than a Jaguar and sounds as good! Oil pressure is 60+ and doesn't come down.I loved driving the car, even in the cold weather we had.The sad part, apart from the fact that the car will be sold, is the under carriage has not been treated properly. There is no rust, and most of the rubbers are good to excellent, but it looks shabby. I was scared when I put this beautiful car on the lift and saw that only the easy areas were covered with some kind of black. POR 15?? I would have loved to clean it all up, and rust proof it with a good primer, and coat it. But since all was OK, and only the eyes were slightly insulted, we decided to leave it as is.A head turner, maybe a local show winner, and definitely a great driver and tourer. Maybe even an investment, but I don't like thinking that way.

1965 Austin Healey 3000 Mk3 It absolutely amazes me how many people cannot spell when writing their ads! Healey has two "e's". It's written in two places on the car for crying out loud!! The other consistently misspelled word is "concours". There is no "e" at the end unless you're at the airport. Now, let's define "restored". Restored does not mean that the car has been recently washed, nor does it mean that the car might have been recently painted. A restoration means that the car has been completely dismantled and properly rebuilt. This would mean that ALL aspects of the car have been addressed. So if you see a listing for a "concourse restored Austin Healy" you'll know that not only does the person not know how to spell, the car was probably not properly restored either. This particular Austin Healey was ordered directly from Brian Healey at the Healey distributorship in Warwick, England. It was delivered to the original owner on July 9th, 1964 at the Healey dealership in Warwick. Prior to that on the 1st of July it was registered on British plates. The first registration mark (license plates to us in the USA) was AGH 944B. What this generally means is that the car can be reimported back to the UK or EU tax free. Copies of the original manufacturers statement of origin and the registration documents are included with the sale of that car, as is all correspondence leading up to the purchase of the car.The car was driven throughout the UK and the European continent while the owner was on holiday. The car was shipped back to eastern Canada at the end of his vacation. When he moved to the states the car was shipped, eventually, all the way to California and finally to Washington state where it is now. This is a one family owned vehicle from new. The reason for the sale is to settle the estate. The car's restoration was started in 2008 and the process lasted just less than two years. The car has had very limited use since.Chassis HBJ8L/26887Body 3182BJ8/71700Engine 29K/RU/H2017The car was delivered with the following options; overdrive, heater, adjustable steering column, radio, luggage grid (factory type) twin wing mirrors, w/w tires. Original color was white with black trim.At the direction of the family, the color was changed to British Racing Green (GN29) and the luggage grid was deleted. This is a matching numbers car. This is what is known as a phase 2 type BJ8. It has the redesigned chassis to accommodate radius arms. Other differences between a Phase 2 and the earlier car are push button door handles and plastic lenses for the side and rear combined stop/tail/turn lamps. Common dating for these cars calls a phase 1 car a 1964, a phase 2 car would be commonly called a 1965, and the phase 3 cars 1966 and 1967. The Phase 3 cars have separate turn signal lamps as their only difference from the phase 2 cars. That dating is a bit simplistic as the factory made running changes to the specification of the car instead of making changes at specific model years like the American manufacturers do. Thus this car is listed as a 1965 when it was actually manufactured in the second half of 1964. The car was completely stripped down to the last screw and sandblasted. The chassis structure has received new sills, rockers, floors and other parts required to address the normal rust issues common to this type of car. All repairs are indistinguishable from the original factory metal. The chassis was painted inside and out while mounted on a rotisserie and all of the body panels were painted front and back. All lapped panels and seams in the chassis were seam sealed prior to painting. The car was assembled, sanded and painted as an assembled unit to ensure consistency of color and finish. The underside of the chassis and inside of the panels are just as smooth and glossy as the exterior of the body. The products used throughout the painting process were manufactured by PPG. The finish paint is PPG Concept. Every wearing part of the suspension and steering was either replaced or rebuilt. This includes the splined hubs for the wire wheels. New 60 spoke chrome wire wheels were also fitted to the car (stainless spokes). Most parts of the suspension have been powder coated for durability of finish. With the exception of the brake calipers and the original Girling brake servo, all aspects of the brakes are new. This includes all of the brake lines (rigid and flexible), the master cylinders, rear wheel cylinders, front brake rotors and linings. The calipers were rebuilt with stainless pistons and the original brake servo was rebuilt, the rear brake drums were found to have plenty of life left and were turned. The engine was converted to run on unleaded fuel by fitting hardened valve seats and stellite exhaust valves. The intake valves are also all new. The guides were also replaced and special valve stem seals were adapted as the original units are a poor design. The engine was bored .030 over, the crank ground .010/.010 and the camshaft was re-ground as well. A rear main seal kit has also been fitted as there is no rear main seal on an original Austin engine. The rockershaft is new and all of the rockers have been re-bushed. The connecting rods have had new wrist pin bushings installed and the crank ends have been resized. All of the lifters are new. The carbs were also completely rebuilt with new throttle shafts and nylon bushings as well as the rest of the internals. The ignition is by points as original. Oil pressure is 40 psi at idle HOT.The gearbox and overdrive were also completely rebuilt using new syncros, bearings and layshaft. The gearbox is quiet. The overdrive was also completely rebuilt and functions properly. The clutch, clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder are new along with the supply lines. The rear axle has had its bearings and seals replaced. The car was rewired using the correct pattern cotton loomed cover and electrical parts were replaced if found to be defective. Everything works properly. The interior was completely replaced. The seats (front and rear) were rebuilt with the proper foam combination of the molded set and 1/2 foam for correct "loft" around the perimeter and lumbar area as they were originally. The carpets are cut in the same pattern as original. The wood dash was also replaced. Original Kangol 3 point seat belts have been installed. All of the original bright-work was re-plated. (chrome)The car comes complete with the original tools and jack, a tonneau cover and a top cover (boot). The boot and tonneau are of the correct everflex and are stowed in the correct black bags.I am selling the car at the direction of the son of the original owner to settle the estate of his late mother. That is the only reason for the sale. My reputation is far more important to me than the small commission I will receive for its sale. I have made every effort to accurately describe this car. I do not want someone to feel that they have wasted their time looking at the car. I do not normally sell cars, but as I have an intimate knowledge of this car I am quite comfortable finding it a new home. I am happy to show the car by appointment to a seriously interested buyer. I am approximately 6 hours away from where the car is stored so it represents a 12 hour round trip to show the car. Due to that, I am not interested in having my time wasted either.I honesty believe that this is one of the nicest examples currently on the market at this time. I encourage interested parties to look at the other examples available and then come out and look at this car. There will be no disappointments.Admittedly, the car is not cheap. But, in the long run it will be much less expensive and less aggravating than a cheaper car with an inferior restoration and hidden faults. Interested parties may call me for additional information between 9AM and 8PM west coast time at 509-422-5303 or 206-459-2235 (cell).or I can be reached by e-mail at [email protected]

The car was completely disassembled and refinished part by part. The chassis and inner fender wells wee completely stripped and powder coated red to match the body color. The chasis was rust free to start, as was the great majority of the body. The front and rear suspensions were disassembled, blasted and powder coated gloss black, including the brake drums, shocks, coil springs...etc. The shocks were professionally rebuilt. rear leaf springs are new and all bushings and king pins were replaced. Virtually no expense was spared during this restoration. The engine was rebuilt by Healeymasters in San Fernando, Ca. The block was bored, new pistons and rings and rebuilt rods were installed. The camshaft, lifters and pushrods are all new, as is the oil pump and of course, all ancillary items. A Delco alternator was installed for reliability, along with a new wiring harness, front to rear. All glass was replaced and window winding mechanisms were rebuilt . All brake lines were replaced with stainless steel, and shoes, wheel cylinders and calipers were replaced. Drums were turned. This car was built to be driven and for that reason a Toyota 5-speed transmission conversion was installed. The kit is made by Smitty for the Healey, and is a direct bolt in--no cutting of any kind is done. The all-synchro transmission is a pleasure to drive, and helps keep the car cooler inside due to the increased space under the transmission tunnel. The car still retains the stock look inside. Other modifications include a beautiful Nardi steering wheel and matching shift knob, factory works rally vents in the front fenders, an Astin Martin fuel filler cap, and engine upgrades such as aluminum rocker cover, finned aluminum oil pan and "Texas desert cooling fan". The engine runs nice and cool and does not overheat. The vehicle also has a stainless steel exhaust system front to rear. The paint is top-of-the-line Glasurit and is urethane with a clearcoat. All chrome on the car has been rechromed and the wheels are 72-spoke Dunlop tubeless chrome wires. The tires are Michelin radials and have about 200 to 300 miles of use since being installed this year. The dash and glove box are book matched burl and all instruments were sent to British Sportscar Specialists to be rebuilt. The top and full tonneau cover are both made from premium Stayfast material. Carpets are wool and seats are custom cut Connelly leather done by Tim at The Healey Store. As far as I know, the only items needing needing attention are: Trip odometer does not work--regular mileage odometer does work; radio is installed but not hooked up (I prefer to listen to the engine); horn does not honk. I did most of the work on this car myself with the help of two other Healey shops and a Healey friend who works for a Healey shop. I built this car to keep. I've owned it 20 years and this is not a "clean and paint" to sell job. This car had many, many hours of loving care and more was done than I have space to write about. I believe one could get in this car today and drive across country with no problems.
