Older "Ground up" rotisery restoration in 2003. Mileage was reset upon completion. Later model 1275cc engine installed in 2003 Stronger "ribbed" transmission also from 1275cc engine Weber carb and header All other suspension components rebuilt and coated with POR-15 at the same time All other engine bay components either rebuilt, refurbished or replaced, including entire braking system, SS lines using silicon fluid. All new interior with guages either refurbished or replaced Engine completely rebuilt in 2015 using all new components (pistons, bearings, rings, valves, etc.). Crankshaft was upgraded by machine shop counter bore and installation of needle bearing for pilot (spigot) shaft of transmission. Cylinder head was ported with 3 angle valve job, new guides and valves New clutch pressure plate, disc and throw out bearing at time of rebuild. This example is very close to all-original with an all-steel body. The only non-original items are it’s electronic ignition (a Pertronics -- no more fiddling with points). It also has an electronic tachometer (instead of the un-reliable mechanically driven “tach-drive”). The car has been changed to Negative Ground. And last, but certainly not least, an electric fuel pump to avoid those nasty broken diaphrams of the mechanical units.Otherwise the car is very original including the 948cc engine; dual 1-1/4” SU Carburetors and web-case 4-speed (non-synchro 1st gear) transmission. The car also sports a relatively new top (2-years old) with a powder-coated frame; a Tonneau cover (in very good shape) and a classic luggage rack -- cloth interior (for those HOT summer rides) and a pearl-white paint job. Paint and all chrome is in very good shape. All items that were replaced by non-stock pieces are included in the price of the car if you are a stickler for originality. There are also odd pieces and parts for the car including a spare head & engine (both rebuildable); radiator; starter motors; carburetors; front bumper; spare windscreen surround and various other items. The car is rust free and runs well . . . . .

1960 Austin-Healey Sprite ("Bugeye"). Same owner 30+ years. Recent restoration (2013). Concours award winner. This car is done in colors matching the original build records from 1960, including black tonneau and top. Original engine (rebuilt and fitted with hardened valve seats) and transmission. Everything works. Since the concours showing in 2013 the car has been fitted with wire wheels from a later car, new radial tyres (less than 1000 miles on tyres), front disk brakes, and an aftermarket K and N air filter. All removed original parts (slotted disk wheels with Dunlop bias ply 5.20-13 tyres, drum brake assy's, original air cleaners) are included with the sale. Hagerty's site values these cars at between $22,300 ("excellent" condition) and $34,000 ("concours" condition). NADA site tops out at $41,000 ("high retail"). The Sprite has been named the Frogeye in the UK, and the Bugeye in the US because of its distinctive headlights that are prominently mounted on top of the bonnet and face skyward. Production years for the Austin Healey Bugeye Sprite were from 1958-1961.This 1959 Bugeye Sprite has been in the same family since 1969. It has had a complete professional restoration and all mechanicals are updated and fresh. This car has always been garaged and is never driven in inclement weather.Exterior is Leaf Green and the paint is excellent. Body is straight and solid. The roadster top is black.Interior is black and all components are excellent. The dash is pristine. Oil pressure gauge is new. Carpet is new and super clean.Engine is the original 4 cylinder with manual transmission. The transmission has had a total rebuild and shifts smoothly and is tight. This car performs very well on the road. The test drive was impressive!The current owner and only owner since 1969 has meticulously taken care of this car. This car has been kept in a barn in this condition for over 20 years. I believe the bonnet is called a Sebring made by Ashley and it is made of fiberglass. The car has no signs of rusted areas. Underneath the car there is surface rust. Floors are solid however need to be fixed where the previous owner made drive train and seat modifications. There are seats that come with the car but I do not know what they are from (not original). The wheels are Carroll Shelby wheels which I have the complete set as well as a spare. The roll cage is halfway bolted in and can be easily be taken out. There has been some body work done but the body is very straight and virtually rust free. Turn it into a SCCA vintage racer, make it a Sebring replica, or turn it back to a Bugeye. I think I have a SCCA logbook going back to the early 70s.I have a 948 motor and transmission that comes with the car as well as the parts listed below. Engine does turn over.
