This is a beautiful 1969 Buick Electra 2 door with a new convertible top, it makes heads turn. Besides the engine, this car is all original right down to the AM radio. The engine which is a 455 engine was replaced recently and runs great. I would trust taking this car on the road for a road trip. I am sure the mileage has rolled because of the age of the car. I have all the paper work on all that has been done to car over the years. The car has been well taken care of. The little bit of rust is shown in the photos. Rust on the left rear wheel well and right fender. The front drivers seat is torn. Could use a paint job, we just didn't want to change the originality of the car. There are power windows, door locks and front seat. This is a chick magnet and a wonderful muscle car. If you know cars then you also know... it passes everything but a gas station. Salvage titles are deemed such by an insurance company, not a government agency. A salvage title car is a car that an insurance company had paid off, at a point, its value to the original owner. 2. How does a car become salvage?There are many reasons for this. The most common is collision. A lot of these salvage cars, however, are simply recovered theft cars. Recovered theft cars get a salvage title if they are recovered after the original owner has been paid off. Usually this happens after 30 days. 3. I thought salvage title cars are “totaled”?“Totaled” means an economic total loss. This doesn’t usually have much to do with the extent of the damage.
