This was the only personal luxury E-body cruiser with rear-wheel drive, and this was the first year for the new V8. That means this is a true cherished example with its numbers-matching 430 unit. And you can pick up this cool and loaded classic for under $25K. The factory-correct Arctic White paint is the perfect color backdrop for the chiseled front end, with razor-edged fenders and hidden headlights. 1967 was a great design that kept familiar cues from the iconic '65 Riviera, including hidden headlights, but this model year had a larger and more unique presence. Finish work is quite good, with a very straight body panels and a black pinstripe that perfectly highlight's this car's gentle curves. A black vinyl top has been nicely restored with correct materials and straight seams, and as with all vinyl tops, the important areas under the rear window seem to be in good order. As with many early Rivieras, the use of chrome is restrained, with massive bumpers but little else to detract from the clean shape, and all of the brightwork here is in very good condition. The five-spoke American Racing wheels are a real standout that adds an attractive custom touch, without appearing overly flashy at the car shows. The black vinyl interior has the perfect 1960s craftsmanship and adornment to really look like a grown-up's car. Exceptionally nice upholstery on the bench gives textured individual seating areas. Options include A/C, that has been upgraded to R134a refrigerant and blows ice cold, a tilt steering column, a power seat, and power windows. The original AM/FM radio is still in place but the speakers are actually hooked up to a jack for your modern XM/MP3/iPod tunes. The gauges are very cool, including the wonderful barrel-type speedometer, that makes for a compact instrument cluster that's easy to read at a glance. It even has a pre-set speed warning system. The three-spoke steering wheel will look familiar to Buick fans, but the Moon Half Sweep tachometer mounted to the column is a nice non-factory item. It is a correct piece for '60s nostalgia, and a reminder about the serious power under the hood. Buick's 430 cubic-inch V8 was all-new for this year, and became legendary for it massive torque production. This big block moves this big Buick with the kind of power delivery that's equal parts muscle car, and luxury coupe. It's impeccably smooth with just enough of a rumble from the Flowmaster dual exhaust to let folks know that there's some serious blasting powder under the hood. This is a numbers-matching engine that's almost entirely original, and with bright Dante Red paint on the block, you can tell that it has led an easy life. It's mated to the smooth and trusty ST400 three-speed automatic transmission. This is connected to a 12-bolt Positraction rear end, with a 3.42 ratio, for perfect highway cruising. Plus, there's a rebuilt suspension with front and rear sway bars. Combine this with power steering, power brakes, and modern Falken Ziex tires, and it's easy to enjoy this Buick, even on long trips. This is a high style, high horsepower, and highly authentic Buick, that will make you the hit at any cruise-in. Best part is it's budget priced so you don't have to live on the Riviera to own this Riviera. Buick\'s Riviera kept getting better in the 1960s, and the all-new 1966 Riv escalated the dramatic looks and backed it up with a thumping 425 cubic inch Nailhead V8. With a high-quality frame-on restoration that has earned it a cover shot on the Buick Club\'s publications, this is an awesome example of one of the era\'s under-appreciated pieces of luxury muscle. It enjoyed a frame-on restoration in the late 1990s, along with a fresh coat of paint in 2006, making this one of the better-looking examples of the breed. Super-straight bodywork emphasizes traditional Riviera styling cues like the kick-up behind the doors and the hidden headlights, which are now part of an angular and sleek front end. You can see how the car evolved, as the roofline looks similar to the 1963-65 cars, while the quarters foreshadow the \"boat-tail\" Rivieras that would follow. Regardless, this is one great-looking car. All the panels are original to the car and having lived all its life in Oklahoma and Texas, you know that it has never been a victim of winter weather. The color is called Burgundy Mist and it suits the elegant coupe quite well, a little bit flashy but never ostentatious. Chrome is original and in remarkably good shape and the headlights that drop down from above the grille remain one of the coolest party tricks you\'ll see an old car perform. The black interior is not only an executive-class way to travel, it\'s 100% original, right down to the carpets. That fact alone should tell you all you need to know about how well maintained this Riv really is. Just the right amount of wood and stainless accentuates the black leather seats and a full-length console not only looks elegant but also houses the horseshoe shifter that looks every bit as cool here as it does in lesser cars. The dashboard looks expansive, but all the gauges are right in front of you, using an aircraft-style rotating drum speedometer and a full array of auxiliary gauges. Factory A/C was recently serviced with a rebuilt compressor and Freeze12 refrigerant, so it\'s working like it should and other options include power windows, seat, and antenna, plus a tilt wheel. The original Sonomatic AM radio remains in the dash and the expansive trunk is fitted with a complete set of correct mats and a matching fifth wheel. Buick\'s 425 cubic inch \"Nailhead\" V8 is a torque factory, moving the big coupe with the grace of a muscle car rather than a luxury coupe. It\'s impeccably smooth with just enough of a rumble from the dual exhaust to let folks know that there\'s some serious blasting powder under the hood. It\'s almost entirely original and with bright Dante Red paint on the block, you can tell that it has led an easy life. There are plenty of signs of correct routine maintenance, and recent work includes a rebuilt front suspension and steering, rebuilt brakes with finned aluminum drums, and a new heater core, so it\'s ready to cruise. The Dynaflow was gone, replaced by a rugged TH400 3-speed automatic and feeding the original rear end, which hangs on fresh coil springs. Five correct Buick Road Wheels were installed along the way and now sport 225/75/15 whitewall radials. A gorgeous car with several show awards to its credit, plus some notoriety with the Buick club, this is an under-rated car with a ton of charisma. Call today! The personal luxury car segment is one that always has demand from classic car buyers. With every year that passes there is a new generation of car that gains interest from classic car enthusiast. Cars like this 1983 Buick Riviera is a pristine example. With less than 100K miles, this Riviera shows well and is covered in a smooth gray paint job. The lines of the car are sharp, and with the 1/2 vinyl top surrounding the rear windshield, it\'s a perfect look for what a luxury car was 31 years ago. The subtle pinstripes lining the sides of the car add a nice accent. The chrome trim is in nice condition, and highlights the classy gray paint with an elegant look. The big grill is a feature you don\'t see on many cars today, and is topped by a cool hood ornament. Those bright, wired wheels are wrapped in white wall tires for a complete package of 80s luxury style. Open the solid closing doors and have a seat in a very comfortable interior finished in gray fabric. The seats are very plush in the front and rear while the driver enjoys power adjustments. A fold down arm rest provides more comfort and rests above a convenient center console for storage. The dash and door panels are accented with a classy wood appliqu%26Atilde;%26copy;, and hold switches and controls for the power windows, power door locks, AM/FM radio with cassette player, air conditioning, heat and defrost. To make highway driving a bit more comfortable this beauty also has cruise control and a tilt wheel. Powering this cool coupe is a healthy 307 cubic inch Oldsmobile V8. That smooth-running engine sends power to an automatic transmission directed to the front wheels, and it all operates very nicely. There is a new battery installed and the engine bay presents well for a 31 year old car. Taking care of handling and braking duties is a sturdy suspension with power disc brakes up front. This is one of those chassis that will have you feeling like you\'re floating on air when you\'re cruising down the highway. This 1983 Buick Riviera makes a great candidate for the enthusiast that is looking for some classic luxury to cruise around town in. The \"boat tail\" Rivieras were controversial when they were new and today it\'s admittedly a love/hate situation, but if you\'re one of the lovers, this 1973 Riv is an awesome specimen. Loaded with fully functional options, a matching-numbers big block, and a great color combination, this is the one you want to add to your serious Buick collection. Code 11 Arctic White is one of those colors that will always look good and lets the dramatic bodywork speak for itself. And unlike so many of the cars of the era, it doesn\'t look out of place in white. There are signs of previous Buick design through the Riviera, including the sweep-spear along the flanks. This car sports all its original sheetmetal, including quarter panels, so it fits together the way the factory intended. I don\'t know what\'s involved in replacing them, but I have to believe it\'s a major project so it\'s always better to let the factory to it right in the first place. It\'s been repainted and shines up very nicely, and if it\'s drama you want, this big Buick definitely delivers. The black vinyl roof insert is in great condition as well, adding a little contrast, and all the chrome and stainless is brilliant. The 60/40 split bench seat is covered in correct code 698 black vinyl that does a pretty good impersonation of leather. The dashboard is as dramatic as that rear window, offering the driver a wrap-around console that puts all the controls right at the driver\'s fingertips. The factory instrumentation consists of only the basics, but a pair of auxiliary gauges keeps tab on temperature and oil pressure. Options include power windows and seat, a tilt column, cruise control, and powerful A/C that uses R134a refrigerant so it\'s inexpensive to maintain. A later AM/FM/cassette head unit was installed in the dash, although a restored AC Delco radio is included. And even with that sloping and deeply sculpted rear deck, trunk space is impressive and includes the original spare tire that\'s never been used! Buick\'s mighty 455 cubic inch V8 seemed largely immune to the horsepower reductions that were affecting the other auto makers, and with a huge swell of torque it moves the bit Riv with effortless ease and a burly V8 rumble. It is the original, numbers-matching engine and with a 4-barrel carburetor and dual exhaust, it has more in common with muscle cars of yore than a luxury boat. Bright Dante Red paint is a Buick tradition for decades and it wears a correct air cleaner and reproduction decals. Extensive maintenance receipts accompany the car and there\'s plenty of evidence that it\'s been properly maintained, and with just 116,000 original miles, this big Buick still feels young. The original TH400 3-speed automatic delivers creamy smooth shifts and with 2.93 gears in the 12-bolt rear end, it\'s a superlative highway cruiser. Gorgeous Buick Road Wheels give the Riviera a sporting attitude that belies its size and are shod with 235/75/15 whitewall radials. Documented with the original window sticker, manuals, build sheet, and restoration receipts, this 4-owner Riviera is an outstanding example of a car that\'s sure to become a future collectable. Early Riviera prices are on the rise, and these boat tails can\'t be far behind. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Dallas/Fort Worth showroom. Two of the things we love most are early Rivieras and survivors, so when this almost all-original 1963 Buick Riviera showed up, everyone seemed to take the time to go check it out. With just three owners from new (two of which were father and son) and 48,527 original miles, it\'s a slam-dunk for preservation competition and an affordable way to get into one of the best-looking cars of the 1960s. If not for the Corvette split-window coupe, I think everyone on earth could agree that this was the best-looking car of 1963. We won\'t wax rhapsodic about the beauty of Bill Mitchell\'s Riviera design except to say that it has withstood the test of time and still looks like a million bucks. This particular Riv still wears its factory-applied Diplomat Blue paint, which, thanks to a 3-step cut and buff looks pretty darned good. It\'s not perfect with 50 years of use and a few touch-ups here and there, but repainting this car would be a crime. If you want perfect, there are such cars out there, but if you\'re part of the growing group of enthusiasts who love original cars and preserving them, then this car delivers the goods in a big way. As a lifelong Texas car, rust is obviously a non-issue and there\'s no evidence of large-scale accident repair, so you know it\'s led a good life. There isn\'t a lot of chrome on the Riviera, which is a big part of its appeal, but the original brightwork is in good order with a soft shine that matches the car\'s personality just fine. Even the delicate chrome ribs on the big outboard parking lights shine up nicely. The Riviera\'s interior was a styling tour-de-force as well, with bucket seats and a sweeping, low-profile dash trimmed in brushed metal instead of fake wood. The inviting patina on the blue upholstery is perfect for the car and again would be a shame to restore, especially since there are no major splits or tears in the material. The two-tone steering wheel is nicely preserved and the gauges are shockingly clear and crisp. Options include power seats, a tilt wheel, power windows, and factory A/C, which has been converted to R134a and just seems to need a recharge. Buick\'s standard Sonomatic AM radio still lives at the top of the dash and the trunk is outfitted with original mats, a full-sized spare with cover, and a complete jack assembly. Buick\'s legendary 401 cubic inch \"Nailhead\" V8 made 325 horsepower in the \'63 Riviera, and with seemingly endless reserves of torque, it is a lot quicker than you\'d think. This one drives with the solid and complete feeling that only a well-loved original car can demonstrate, and if you\'ve never experienced it, come try this car on for size. The engine bay isn\'t perfect, but it\'s remarkably clean and well-maintained, and thanks to a complete tune-up not too long ago, it runs superbly. There\'s a gentle V8 hum from the dual exhaust system that suggests great power barely held in check, and the Dynaflow automatic transmission works as advertised with seamless operation. Clean Texas living has resulted in a chassis that\'s extremely solid, and you can still see traces of the original red oxide primer on the floors themselves. Standard steel wheels with wire wheel covers are fitted and carry 215/75/15 whitewall radials. This car hits a lot of high notes: gorgeous design, incredible survivor, and a bargain price. Early Rivs are on the move, so take this opportunity to finally put a good one in your garage. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Dallas/Fort Worth showroom. Arguably the most attractive design of the early 1960s, the 1963 Buick Riviera transformed the automotive landscape forever. Instantly recognizable yet restrained, it\'s an iconic machine that is finally getting its due from collectors. Sorry guys, the days of getting a good one for ten grand are long gone, so you\'re better off spending a little extra for a good one. This one wears Arctic White, which does nothing to diminish the Riv\'s awesome good looks. In fact the beautifully-applied paint hugs straight bodywork that\'s in great condition and is just as dramatic today as it was fifty years ago. Fit and finish are good all around, with doors that show even gaps and a big, pointed hood that latches without being slammed. The soft shine of the paint is entirely appropriate to the period and the finish is only three years old, so it\'ll look this good for years to come with minimal maintenance. The \'63s offer four round headlights with parking lights in the outboard pods that eventually housed hidden headlights, and for many, the purity of the design works quite well either way. Nice chrome bumpers are probably original, and while they show a few signs of age, re-chroming them would be a mistake. And nothing looks better than GM Soft-Ray tinted glass on a luxury cruiser from the \'60s. If the exterior is gorgeous, the interior is simply stunning. The pinnacle of 1960s styling, the all-new \"Custom\" interior is called Champagne and offers correct cloth inserts in the seats that were supplied SMS Auto Fabrics who really know their stuff. Real woof veneer is found on the console and door panels, while the center console is a work of industrial art that would be at home in a period architect\'s studio. Two-tone steering wheel, gorgeous gauges that look like high-end clock faces, and a shifter that\'s like sculpture all create one of the most spectacular interiors of the decade. The power window motors were replaced, and even the power vent windows with their original motors work properly. Other options include factory A/C, a power antenna, an AM/FM radio, six-way power driver\'s seat, and a tilt steering column. The headliner is original and is nice enough to work with the otherwise freshly restored interior, and even the trunk was correctly freshened with a correct mat, full-sized spare, jack and new cardboard side pieces. Buick\'s 401 cubic inch \"Nailhead\" V8 was a formidable performer in the mid-sized Riviera, and with massive torque behind it, this elegant coupe was probably able to surprise some fairly hot cars back in the day. The engine bay was recently detailed and looks great, with a big, red air cleaner needing only a decal installed (included with the car) and a silver engine underneath. It\'s pretty tightly packed in the Riviera\'s engine bay, but the new stuff includes a rebuilt carburetor, generator, new battery, rebuilt water pump, new timing chain and cover, a new wiper motor, and a recent tune-up, so it\'s ready to enjoy. The Turbine-Drive automatic transmission delivers a seamless flow of torque and with highway-friendly gears, you\'ll be astounded by how effortlessly this Riv gathers momentum. The underside features rebuilt brakes, a new exhaust system with correct transverse muffler, and attractive wire wheels with whitewall radials. Still beautiful, still a joy to drive, and still appreciating, now is the time to indulge your long-held desire for an early Riviera. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom. Customs are all about taking something familiar and making it unique as seamlessly as possible, and this 1953 Buick Special hardtop is a prime example. Subtle detailing transform the look, but most guys won\'t be able to say exactly what has changed, and that\'s exactly the point. You could actually get a red and white Buick in 1953, and the flashy colors really work well on the rounded Special sheetmetal. Hardtops were still a relatively new invention in 1953, with the Riviera creating the look in 1949 and quickly spreading throughout the in Buick lineup. This one sports a number of familiar body mods, including some shaved door handles, modified side trim, and teardrop spotlights. More advanced tweaks include the 1957 Packard taillights that are so expertly grafted onto the Buick\'s quarters that they look like they were born there. The paint has a wonderful shine and uses period-correct colors, so it looks like it could have been built back then, particularly the red which doesn\'t need metallic or other tricks to look fantastic. And whenever you\'re talking about a Buick, chrome is a big part of the discussion. Fortunately, this \'53\'s toothy grin and heavy bumpers have all been nicely restored and show quite well, even keeping the tri-color Buick shield in the front bumper and \"bombsight\" hood ornament. The custom interior is even more brilliant, combining original Buick details with bucket seats and a console lifted from a 1966 Ford Thunderbird. Fully upholstered in white, it has a definite full-on custom vibe going on, and the juxtaposition of the parts means that there\'s OEM durability built right in. The Special\'s original dashboard now houses custom Dolphin white-faced gauges and a late-model GM tilt column holds a sporty LaCarrera wheel. The center stack was Buick\'s trademark from the late \'30s, and there\'s still an original AM radio living up top, although it\'s been supplanted by an AM/FM/cassette head unit underneath which actually delivers the tunes. The back seat area features the Thunderbird\'s wrap-around chairs that have a very inviting look and black carpets keep everything anchored. The trunk is huge, as I\'m sure you expect, and it\'s nicely finished with gray fabric and a big JL Audio subwoofer and other stereo equipment. The remarkable engine bay is anchored by big time Buick power, a 455 cubic inch V8. They obviously went to extreme lengths to create an underhood area that was every bit as dramatic as the body and nailed it in a big way. The smooth fenders and firewall are painted body color to highlight the engine in the middle. All the plumbing and electrical bits have been neatly tucked out of sight and the air cleaner is a Buick piece that comes from the \'50s. A big aluminum radiator, HEI ignition, power steering and 4-wheel disc brakes mean that it drives like a modern car. The undercarriage is pretty stock, with custom A-arm front suspension with power rack-and-pinion steering, a trick 1-into-2 exhaust system that sounds awesome, and a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission as the noteworthy upgrades. Torque Thrust wheels look right on any \'50s cruiser and carry right-sized Bridgestone radials that really stuff the big fenders. Beautifully built and amazingly well detailed, this slick Buick goes full custom without forgetting that driving is the best part of any cool car. Call today! Big Buicks have been overlooked for too long, but this 1963 Buick Wildcat convertible is looking to change all that. Handsome and restrained looks, a torque-happy 401 cubic inch Nailhead, and a delightful color scheme make this Buick an unusual choice that brings class and performance in equal measure. Code H Glacier Blue is this car\'s original color and it wears it rather well. This is a big car, make no mistake about that, but the light color and tasteful ornamentation make it look trim and athletic. This appears to be a good, solid west-coast car, having spent all its life in California until being brought to Kansas sometime in 1999. As a result, the sheetmetal is super straight and didn\'t need major surgery to bring it up to par, and it fits together in a way that only good, original, unmolested cars can. The paint was done a few years ago but still has an awesome gloss and depth that belies the light color and makes the car look refreshingly clean. The \'50s were over, so trim was restrained, although Buick still put portholes on the front fenders, surrounding them with a brushed metal panel that stretches into the doors. Most, if not all of the trim is original, so that should give you a good idea of how well-preserved this Buick really is, and with an afternoon of polishing, it\'ll look spectacular. Aside from the carpets and weather-stripping, the interior is remarkable in its originality. Again, this probably comes from living an easy life in California, but it\'s obvious this car didn\'t sit out in the sun with the top down for hours on end. The bucket seats are in excellent shape, showing only minor signs of age, and they\'re quite comfortable for road trips today. There are echoes of the Riviera in the brushed metal dashboard with two large, round dials, and with the center console comes a rather rare factory tach. The original Sonomatic AM radio remains in the dash, perched right below the aircraft-style heater controls that are a kind of cool touch. There\'s no disputing the originality of all the components, and while they\'re not perfect, it would be a crime to try to restore everything. The white power convertible top is in decent condition and features a clear plastic rear window, while the extremely clean trunk is outfitted with a full-sized spare tire and jack assembly. The \'445\' you see on the air cleaner is a reference to the 401 cubic inch V8\'s torque rating, and if there\'s one thing the Buick Nailhead does well, it\'s make torque. Acceleration feels effortless at any speed, and the smooth flow of power from the big V8 is what defines Buicks of the era. Unquestionably the original engine, it\'s unlikely that it\'s ever been rebuilt, but when it runs this well, there\'s just no need. The valve covers and air cleaner were obviously freshened at some point, but otherwise it\'s completely stock and in good order. A brand new dual exhaust system gives it a quiet, confident sound and the Dynaflow automatic transmission and original rear end make for a car that was just made for long road trips. Underneath, there\'s plenty of evidence of clean California living, and the original wheel covers are surrounded by recent 235/75/15 whitewall radials. High style and high performance live comfortably together in this Wildcat ragtop, and you can get a lot of old-school luxury for not a lot of cash with it. Call today! Man the \'60s were cool, weren\'t they? You could buy a Buick that looked like this 1963 Wildcat right off the showroom floor. Forget portholes and old-fashioned 50\'s styling, this car was the ride of choice if you had arrived in the world, but weren\'t quite ready to settle down. The dark Diplomat Blue looks almost black under anything but direct sunlight, but it certainly looks right on this handsome hardtop. Still a serious, formidable car (it\'s a Buick, after all), it was also well-proportioned and sophisticated. The bright insert along the front fender and door is perhaps a tribute to cars of the \'40s with their \"sweep-spear\" design, and it highlights the portholes that were still a big part of Buick\'s design ethos. The restoration is a few years old, so it\'s not flawless (nothing ever is), but it still looks quite good, suggesting that the restoration work was high-quality. The long, pointed quarter panels are a final farewell to tailfins, and their straight sheetmetal suggests that this car has always lived someplace sunny and warm and has never been involved in a serious accident. Plenty of chrome was still part of the package, with most of the brightwork on this car being original and in good condition for being 50 years old. Full-sized comfort for five comes compliments of a pair of buckets up front and a wide, comfortable bench in back. It has an optional console and the dashboard was a direct relative of the spectacular setup found in the all-new 1963 Riviera. Round gauges with crystal clear markings look like nothing you\'ve seen in a car before, and the only fake wood is on the steering wheel-everything else is stainless steel or brushed aluminum. An optional vacuum gauge on the center console ostensibly helps monitor efficiency, but with a thundering Nailhead under the hood, it\'s really an academic exercise at best. It also offers factory A/C, rare power windows, and a tilt column. The original AM radio is gone, replaced by an AM/FM/cassette stereo in the original slot wearing factory knobs to good effect. The trunk is more evidence that this has always been a clean car, and sports a correct rubber mat and fresh spare tire. During a recent mechanical restoration, this Wildcat got a horsepower injection in the form of a 425 cubic inch Nailhead out of a later Riviera. With a recently rebuilt top-end, this torque monster yanks the big coupe up to speed effortlessly and makes the most delicious snarl that\'s wholly unexpected in a Buick. Finned valve covers and a chrome air cleaner add some flash, and that\'s correct Buick Turquoise paint underneath just for effect. It\'s mated to a heavy-duty TH400 3-speed automatic transmission that\'s a nice improvement over the original Dynaflow, and it drives the original rear end with highway gears inside. A new Flowmaster dual exhaust system, solid floors, and suspension systems that look like they\'ve been recently restored make the trip underneath worthwhile. Classic Buick road wheels are a sporty OEM look and wear 225/75/15 whitewall radials that are plenty beefy for the big coupe. A great car for the Buick fan, and a wonderful piece of muscle for the guy looking for something a little different. Experience some Nailhead torque, and you\'ll never go back. Call today! If you\'ve outgrown your Chevy fascination and a Cadillac is just too much car, take a look at this very handsome 1956 Buick Century Riviera sedan. Dashing two-tone looks, lots of chrome for a perfect \'50s presentation, and four portholes on the side indicating big horsepower under the hood, and you have one of the earliest \"gentleman\'s hot rods.\" This four-door does a fantastic job of disguising its family sedan DNA, with a profile that looks quite sleek and the pillar-less Riviera hardtop design gives it a very appealing profile that looks great from any angle. The two-tone Cambridge Blue and Dover White paint accentuates the Buick\'s dramatic curves, particularly the sweep-spear styling that started in 1942 and continues to this day. Finish quality is very good, with four doors that fit well and paint that shines up beautifully, and there\'s a bit of metallic in the blue so it glows from within when the light hits it just right. The Century remained Buick\'s top performer, and they didn\'t hold back with the advertising, with \'Century\' script on the rear doors and four portholes on the front fenders, denoting a senior car. Of course, as a product of the 1950s, there\'s literally a ton of chrome on the car, all of it in very good condition with a fine front grille that\'s especially cool. You\'ll also note that the tailpipes exit subtly from the lower edges of the rear bumper, another popular \'50s styling trick that works quite well here. There\'s a lot of space in the big Buick\'s interior, which also wears newer upholstery. It\'s not totally correct, but the fabric seating surfaces work with original-style vinyl to create an interior that\'s both comfortable and functional. Door panels are neatly finished with painted garnish moldings and sleek armrests, and the carpets were recently replaced. A ribbon-style speedometer stretches the width of the instrument panel, with auxiliary gauges just below and the original AM radio to its right, putting everything within easy reach. A big steering wheel was more about style than leverage, since power steering makes this Century effortless to drive. The trunk is as large as you\'d expect, and is trimmed with original-looking materials and carries a full-sized spare of indeterminate age. Buick\'s \"Nailhead\" V8 was introduced in 1953, and by 1956 it had grown to 255 horsepower, making it one of the best performers you could buy at any price. Buick capitalized on the engine\'s mountainous torque curve and even with that much sheetmetal around it, this is a very strong performer. Buick Turquoise paint had been in use since just after the war and gives the engine a purposeful look especially under that big air cleaner. The engine bay is quite authentic, including original generator and power steering system, as well as the factory heater boxes on the firewall. Backed by a buttery-smooth Dynaflow automatic transmission, it accelerates like an electric motor and cruises effortlessly at 70 MPH. A bubbly dual exhaust system sounds appropriate for the big sedan and with a uniform layer of undercoating on the chassis, it stays quiet and comfortable inside the car. Flashy red wheels with full wheel covers are fitted with 235/75/15 BFGoodrich Silvertown wide whitewall radials for a period-correct look. Buick fans know the Century is the model to own, and this gorgeous Riviera sedan makes it easy to appreciate full-sized luxury and performance. Call today! Call today!
