1974 Miller Meteor Cadillac Hearse for sale. I have owned this vehicle for almost two years. In that time I have invested a lot of time and money attempting to restore it to daily driver condition. I am in graduate school, working, and raising two grandchildren now and I just do not have the time or extra money to invest in the coach any further. As such, I am selling this coach as a "PROJECT CAR" for someone who has the time to invest in fixing it up. I already have over $6500 invested in coach. I am asking for $2750.00 (firm). Coach is a good restoration candidate but will need some work to get her back to her former glory. She starts and drives but has some issues that I will detail below. Some of the known issues with the car:Brakes will need work. Car stops but the brakes are somewhat mushy. I replaced the brakes on all four tires last year along with the wheel cylinders. However, the rear brake line blew and I had to replace that line. Ever since then the brakes have felt mushy. I took the coach to a local shop and they bled the entire system and it was fine for a while but now that the coach has been sitting for some months they feel mushy again. I recommend that ALL of the brake lines be replaced along with the master cylinder and booster. Washer pump not working (I replaced the pump with a new one but it still will not function correctly)Rear main seal leak (leaked about 1 quart over the course of a year)Needs new transmission pan gasket. I have a new gasket and transmission pan that just needs to be installed. (included in the sale of the vehicle)Car is currently in primer, will need to be painted. There is a small leak around the front passenger door that I have not been able to pinpoint yet. I have the carpet out right now along with the door panel while I am searching for it. I can leave it out or reinstall it prior to the coach being shipped to you.The vehicle is old so the material is ragged in places. The two front door panels are in especially poor condition along the bottom edges. The coach is hard to start when it is cold. I was told that I need to install a manual choke. Once the coach warms up, it starts in an instance each and every time. The hood is seriously misaligned. I had to remove the hinges to have them rebuilt when I purchased the coach and I was never able to realign it by myself afterwards. The windshield is cracked. It is commercial glass but Pilkington is still selling this piece. Front end will need work eventually. The steering is loose. Local shop advised that I replace tie-rods, tie-rod ends, center link (probable), and all of the bushings. Front end kits are available at a reasonable price from numerous retailers as well as eBay, Amazon, etc. There has been too much work completed on the coach by me to list but here is a sample of the work completed to date:The roof has been professionally repaired (had holes in it when I purchased the coach). Instead of putting vinyl or painting the repaired roof, I rolled truck bedliner onto it. It looks great and more importantly, it no longer leaks!I had a new muffler installed and the entire system checked for exhaust leaks (muffler was too loud for my tastes).I changed the ignition system over from points to HEI (see photos).New ignition wire set installed.New AC compressor installed (AC still does not work - refrigerant leak somewhere that I have been unable to locate).New alternator installed.New starter installed.New headliner in front and rear of coach. When I purchased the coach the entire rear beir had been removed - I have rebuilt the floor in the rear and replaced the rollers, rebuilt the divider, and replaced the divider glass. New battery installed.New spark plugs installed.Timing and idle professionally adjusted/set.I purchased four new tires (they have less than 50 miles on them). Coach would look better with white walls but at least it has good rubber on it for now.New carpet has been installed. When I got the coach the carpet was water logged, mildewed, and in shreds. I sanded the front floor pans to remove all of the surface rust and then treated the floor with three coats of POR-15 rust preventative paint. (The carpet is currently out of the coach while I try to figure out where the leak is around the passenger side door.)I had to replace the rear bumper ends. The had rusted completely through.Hood hinges rebuiltI replaced the taillights. Previous lights were cracked and falling apart.Headlights have wigwag system installed. Beacon ray on top of coach works and is included in the sale. Speaker box in rear with dual 12" woofers along with four 6x9 speaker boxes (2 in rear and 2 behind front seats). Also, comes with two amps prewired. Located in Crestview, FLAdditional photos upon request (must be specific). I also have videos of the engine running and the light system engaged. Have receipts for all work done and a clean and clear title in hand. Coach is currently registered and tagged in Florida.

I have for sale a 1977 Miller-Meteor Cadillac Landau Traditional Endloader hearse. This car was my dream car and took a few years to find exactly what I had been looking for. However, I am forced to sell it in order to help fund household projects in dire need. The car is in good condition but does need some body work and paint and tinkering. The car runs and drives but has been parked for a couple years after I bought it due to the fuel pump vapor locking. Before summer ended I replaced the driver side power window motor but did not reinstall the door panel yet. This is originally a triple black car, Sable Black paint, Black vinyl and brocade interior and the black crinkle top was painted over with white by the last funeral that had it in service. All glass is intact and no cracks. Here is a breakdown of what it needs and some parts I am including with it. Needs: Fuel pump installed (comes with replacement)Carburetor rebuilt (comes with rebuild kit)Oil change (oil has no miles on it but hasnt been ran in a couple years)Breather air filterBody work and paint Possible fan relay replacement (someone installed toggle switch to power on blower fan for A/C / heat)Everything else checked over before deeming roadworthy When it last ran I had just replaced the radiator, both radiator hoses, both V-belts, heater hose, trans line, changed oil and filter, sprayed carburetor, and replaced passenger side front fender. Comes with: All side body chrome and extra windshield chromeAll casket rollersNew gas tank and fuel sending unitSpare driveshaftSpare hoodUsed battery5 extra commercial chassis wheelsSet of four wire Cadillac hubcapsNew dash capNew Carter mechanical fuel pumpReplacement taillight coversCarburetor rebuild kit (ethanol friendly kit I believe)New timing chain kitTwo sets of funeral flagsLeather Cadillac manual holderFactory Cadillac Dealer Service Manual (the big baby blue book) 1977 Miller-Meteor dealer posterSpare sunvisorscouple of casket keysUncut set of vintage nickel Cadillac crest keysSpare front chrome bumperBoth Miller-Meteor side emblemsand probably more things I have forgotten thats inside it. The interior is in great shape other than dash which will need patched over in a couple spots. The bench seat has one tear in the vinyl binding around the edge. The passenger side sunvisor will need repaired as it doesnt want to stay up. The casket area lighting will need replacement bulbs. The driver side door panel will need to be installed. I installed a rare driver side mirror with factory thermometer but the fiber optic lighting cable will need hooked up to light source. The casket table, which I was told is a Jewish roller setup, is in good shape but will need a good cleaning. I HAVE ALL HISTORY ON THIS VEHICLE FROM THE TIME THE CHASSIS LEFT GM TO EVERY FUNERAL HOME UP UNTIL WHEN I PURCHASED IT. ALL HISTORY IS PRINTED ON PAPERS SENT TO ME FROM THE DMV.I ALSO HAVE MANY RECEIPTS FROM PARTS PURCHASES KEPT IN A FOLDER. I also have a spare Cadillac 425 and Turbo 400 at different location for extra if interested. Overall as with many project cars for sale, this thing can be a stunner if it was someones main project and had the extra time and money to put into it. I will deeply regret selling this car but hopefully it can be seen in the same light by someone else. MORE PHOTOS TO BE ADDED WHEN THE WEATHER GIVES ME A DECENT DAY TO GET OUT. CAR IS CURRENTLY OUTSIDE UNDER COVER.THE PRICE REFLECTS MY HESITANCE TO SELL, I REALIZE SOME PEOPLE MAY THINK THE PRICE IS TOO HIGH FOR THEM.

This unique car was used in Georgia for a haunted house Shocksville. The vinyl wrap cost them $3500. and is covered with a haunted house, ghouls, vampires, goblins, zombies, etc. Reportedly they owed the bank $8000. on it so the bank took it back It is a little scary and at Halloween we have had a blast with it. This hearse has been featured in parades and on T.V. for the Emma Crawford Coffin Races. It is the only one in the world like it and is world famous. It has been overhauled has a low mileage 500 cc engine, has new carb, and lots of other improvements which now exceeds $12,000 having just had the speedometer fixed. It still needs more-like the heat and A.C. and horn + other cosmetics like some minor rust here and there-nothing serious that I can tell...runs great-just went 90 m.p.h. in it trying to catch a plane in Denver. This hearse weighs in at 6500 pounds. It's great for delivery and for antique buying....you can get a whole dining room set in it from a yard sale. We put some magnetic stickers advertising our town Florence as the Capitol of Antiques as we sell dead people's stuff. I have used it for a daily driver so you could probably figure on driving it home-otherwise have it transported since it is constantly in need-now having the speedometer cable fixed and the hood locks put on . There are some newer tires that a friend wants $150.00 for the set of 4. I realize that this car has become a money pit having spent $12,000 so I'll be realistic and price it to sell and listen to this I will drive it right up to your front door free of transportation charges providing you are a serious buyer and prepay half of the money up front! The reason for this I sold a car once on ebay drove it across the country and the individual changed his mind so here are the rules: If you prepay half of the money for the car-there is no charge for delivery. The balance is due in cash upon delivery. If upon delivery you change your mind then there will be a non-refundable $500. deposit and $1.00 per mile round trip cancellation charge. When you bid on this car you agree to these conditions. I will deliver the car at no extra cost to you anywhere in the mainland U.S.A. within an agreed upon time. Remember I have over $12,000. invested in it and I am presently having the mechanic do more so the buyer will be pleased! It maybe the best investment you every made for your business! Hearses and hearse clubs are the latest craze-just look on the internet! I have owned a number of hearses and I loved everyone of them...Have some fun-you'll meet some great folks! You will be surprised! Here are a few: Denver Hearse Association Nightmare Cruisers Hearse Club Grim Rides Hearse Club Just Hearse N Phantom Coaches Hearse Club The Hearse Club - Facebook Hardcore Hearse Club If you enjoy attention, this is the car to drive," "I don't have to own a $95,000 Jaguar, just this old hearse. For the amount of attention you get per dollar, it's the best buy in town!" Another article that sums it up well is: http://matadornetwork.com/life/why-driving-a-hearse-is-to-die-for/ 1971 was named the 100th Anniversary year for Miller-Meteor funeral cars and ambulances as their predecessor A.J. Miller had built it's first horse-drawn hearse in 1871. Cadillac introduced a totally new line of cars and Miller-Meteor introduced a totally new line of coaches.

So it does have only 63 thousand some odd miles on it and it does start but it has been in storage for quite a while. It runs but it's not ready for a cross country trip. There is rust and some rust perforation. Interior is complete and in good condition. The seller had a coffin like box built for cargo that is included in the sale. Overall a great conversation piece. This is a 3 way so it can be loaded/unloaded from either side or the back. Cash or Paypal only-Local Pickup only.

Take a step back in time! This is a great example of an unrestored and unmodified Cadillac Hearse/Ambulance combo car. It is a Miller Meteor with the big 425 V8. Engine runs great and drives down the road well. Has a big 4BBL carburetor. Of course that is a few inches smaller than the year before which boasted the big 500 CID, but this is the first year of the "new" big body style. The car has been in private collections for several years, most recently in South Carolina but also spent time in Texas. I have an open/signed South Carolina title ready for new owner. Tires have very low miles on them. Interior is in good shape. Brand new front carpet. I repaired rear door upholstery panels and a few areas that were loose. (I had them refastened via professional upholsterer.) Car also has a siren that works. Presents well. Has a few areas in the paint that could use work and a few bumps but it's not priced like a restored vehicle. This is a 40 year old car and was used as an ambulance. It is not a restored unit but has been repainted/repaired at various junctures. Solid 20 footer. All pics are super sized for best perspective/view. Some of the areas that are "below the knee cap" in the rear quarter panel and along the bottom side of the back door on passenger side could be pushed out, I just haven't gotten into it enough to pull out parts of interior to access lower quarter panels in rear. It's a rare bird and represents the end of an era as Cadillacs were being used for hearse work and Ford van and truck chassis took over the ambulance industry due to new government regulations for rescue vehicles. I have put many pictures on the ad but if you need additional pics let me know. You can call or text me at 270-872-7507. This is my personal cell and I am on Eastern Time. If you know someone in the area and would like to have them take a look be my guest. I'll be glad to show/test drive. If you are in need of shipping assistance, I can work with the buyer as I have a trailer and truck that is long enough to handle the car. (Same trailer I used to get it home!) Thx for checking out the ad!

I am in the process of acquiring a 1974 Miller-Meteor hearse and will no longer have the space to keep my 1985 Superior Cadillac Crown Sovereign Hearse. Therefore I am offering it here at auction. I have over $4500 invested in this coach so please do not send me any messages with low-ball offers because I do not need to sell this vehicle. I can place it in storage but would like to see it go to someone who will appreciate it. I currently drive the coach two to three times a week with no problems however, this is a 30 year old vehicle so there is bound to be things that will fail unexpectedly. Everything that I could think of that needed fixing I have fixed, even things that might not have needed it.At present I am caring for my wife who suffered a stroke earlier in December. I have taken lots of pictures and detailed everything there is to know about the coach in order to not have to take time away from my wife's care to answer excessively redundant questions about the coach that have already been answered in the vehicle description. PLEASE read the description, look at the photos, and then if you have a question that has not been answered please forward it to me and I will try to respond to your inquiry in a timely manner.
